Great service, delicious pastas, and good wines. The appetizer of these fried potato puff things were just delectable. A must order for the table. The pasta dish we ordered - spicy rigatoni with burrata - was also phenomenal. I'd skip the ribeye steak though, it was quite tough to chew but can't blame them - they're not a steakhouse after all.

Juniper has been sitting on my Austin bucket list for months, so naturally I built it up in my head as a personality trait. Happy to report: vibes? VIBING. This place is aesthetic, chic, and cute in a way that makes you want to casually take pics "for the memories" (and also for Instagram). Service was quick, attentive, and on it--no awkward waiting around pretending you're fine when you're actually starving. Now... onto the food. We started with the potato puffs and yellowtail carpaccio. Let me be very clear: these appetizers were so tiny that we briefly considered abandoning our table and sprinting to the brisket spot across the street. HOWEVER--despite their microscopic size, they were delicious and we inhaled them like we hadn't eaten in days. Zero regrets, just mild portion shock. The rigatoni though?? Chef's kiss. Perfectly al dente, swimming in goodness, and that burrata... omg. I love. I would think about it again. I might dream about it. The pork ragù pasta was... okay. The pasta shape was honestly fascinating--like if pappardelle and fusilli had a giant baby. Very cool, very unique. Flavor-wise, it leaned a bit salty and had this oddly floral, fragrant spice situation happening. I noticed that note in a few dishes and I'm still undecided if I'm here for it. Jury's out. Last but absolutely not least: the broccolini. A full-on showstopper. A mountain of cheese, bread crumbs, and happiness. Order it. Don't question it. Overall: gorgeous space, great service, some hits, some "hmm interesting," but definitely worth checking off the Austin food list. Just maybe eat a snack beforehand... or accept that you might be eyeing nearby brisket menus mid-meal

We tried a few pasta dishes here and had a bit of a mixed experience. We ordered the rigatoni, cacio e pepe, and a ragu pasta. The cacio e pepe, which seems to be one of their most popular dishes, was unfortunately the most disappointing for me. It lacked flavor, and the pasta itself didn't feel particularly special or memorable. On the other hand, the rigatoni really stood out. It was creamy and comforting, and the addition of fried onions completely transformed the flavor profile in the best way -- such a unique and delicious touch. This dish was easily my favorite of the night. The ragu pasta was also very well done. The sauce was rich, unique, and full of flavor, and the pork ragu was especially delicious. One small note across all the pasta dishes: I wish the pasta had been cooked a bit less so it could be more al dente. For dessert, we had the vanilla ice cream, which tasted more like sweet cream or heavy cream rather than a distinct vanilla flavor. Overall, there were some standout dishes alongside a few misses, but definitely some creativity happening in the kitchen. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, wish the lighting was dimmer. The service was quick and helpful! I would be back to get the rigatoni vodka pasta again!

It is clear that Juniper serves high quality food. Everything was cooked well; however, I was honestly underwhelmed by the experience. The crispy potato, although beautiful in presentation and cooked with precision, was seriously lacking flavor (in both the potato and the cheese it came with). The rigatoni alla vodka was perfectly cooked; nevertheless, I wasn't crazy about the dish. It was good, but not something I would order again. I'm super curious on how their cacio e pepe tastes though! Ambiance is moody & modern. Great for date night or a fancy night out with the girls.

First off the service was amazing! The kitchen is open so you can see where your food is being made. The restaurant was very clean and intimate. The alla vodka was absolutely delicious. I would pass on the puffy potatoes. It is a little pricey but I would definitely come back here for a special occasion!

What an interesting spot. Right off the main road, the entrance is a little hard to find because the door is large and the handle isn't a normal door handle. Right when you walk in it takes a moment for your eyes to adjust because it's very dark. The space is intimate and has an open area with the chefs behind the seating area so you can somewhat see them cooking meals. Service was great. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Recommended an app and a main course due to small serving size. The salmon I had was amazing. Great flavor! The tuna app was super tasty as well. Very nice place

This restaurant was pretty and the ambiance was nice. We started with the puffy potatoes and the hamachi carpaccio. The puffy potatoes were surprisingly good! The inside was filled with soft mashed potatoes and the sauce that came with it was light and creamy. The hamachi wasn't really worth it. It came with 2 small slices. I wouldn't recommend this. For pastas, I would recommend the rigatoni a la vodka. It has a little bit of spice to it and was cooked perfectly Al dente. If you don't like Al dente, you might not enjoy this dish but a few of my friends who don't particularly enjoy Al dente pasta really enjoyed this dish. Next, the pork ragu was very meaty and a bit salty. Still good but not my favorite.

4.5 stars I feel like this spot deserves five stars but it's tough because I don't feel like I got the full experience - so four for now. We sat at The Chef's counter which was super fun because we got to see the chefs prepare everything in live action. We ordered off the à la cart menu: Puffy Potato ($13) - 6 puffy potato sticks straight out of the fryer. They were a savory cheesy delight and were crispy fried on the outside with a creamy interior. The Dijon whipped dip served with it was a bit too strong for me. Rigatoni ($25) - so amazing. The best dish we tried. The noodles seemed freshly made and were delightfully chewy. The vodka tomato sauce was extremely rich and had a lot of depth, flavor wise. Hamachi ($18) - the hamachi was complemented with a delicate yuzu taste and crunchy pistachios, but it was so small, more like a nibble. The staff were very polite and attentive. In short I definitely want to come back and try the tasting menu because it looked amazing and then I will probably update my review to a five star. The interior is dark stylish and sophisticated - small valet parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.

This high-end Italian restaurant is pure beauty from the minute you step in the door until you take your last bite of food. An incredible blend of concrete, steel, and other elements give the architecture and decor an industrial feel with accents of furnishings, lighting, and accessories to bring softness and warmth to the building making for an enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere. Open kitchen in the center of the restaurant where you can watch everything that goes on whether seated in the dining area or at the chef counter. The elevated Italian fare reminds me of higher-end restaurants and eateries throughout Italy. Everything is carefully curated to bring the best flavors possible to each and every dish. My boyfriend took me to dinner on my birthday and they sent me home with a gift! A bag of their house-made pasta and a tin of their specially blended Italian seasoning. This is the perfect place for any type of celebration meal, or to gather with friends and family, or to just treat yourself. Service was impeccable. I wish I could give Juniper ten stars.

Two weeks ago my family came in last minute for a late dinner to celebrate my dads birthday. Myself and my parents were in town visiting and my sister had this on her list of restaurants she wanted to try. We were able to book quickly via open table. The service and food were phenomenal! They gave us a dessert for his birthday, as well as a pasta kit of the vodka pasta we ordered for dinner. It was extremely sweet of them to do that. Thank you so much!!

Food was 10/10!! Service was very good too. I love taking my time with dinner and trying all the courses and that is what we did! Arrived at 7:15, left 3 hours later. All of the pastas were amazing!! Focaccia was warm and fresh, the prosciutto and pear was really good. The wagyu was sooooooo good!! Cooked perfectly. I asked for medium and it came more medium rare but it was so good so I didn't mind. We wanted cake for desert and they didn't have any on the menu so the server gave us an off menu option. They do have valet parking but I found a street free spot around the corner super close. My only sort of complaint is we say in the patio and it was 30 degrees outside. It was enclosed and they had heaters but it was still a bit cold. I would still go again!

Went to Juniper for their Valentine's Day set menu experience. Made a reservation in advance (which required a credit card but doesn't actually charge the meal price unless you do not show up). Were seated immediately at the chef's table where we could watch the inner working of the kitchen. The inside of the restaurant is nice, a darker moody kind of vibe amid all the rest of the food scene in this area. The team was nice to us, we basically had direct access to both of the main bartenders sitting where we did. Food came out at a very reasonable pace, and we were in and out in just under and hour and a half. The food itself was good but nothing super special (and quite expensive for the portions). The set menu included the following portions (1 per person): Apps, pasta, entree, dessert. FOOD Apps: The beet salad was good, the crisp potato with caviar was okay [but included an additional up charge so did not seem worth it] Pasta: our favorite part Entree: the steak option was cooked well but not seasoned at all, the pork option was very flavorful. Both seemed like pretty small amounts for an entree Dessert: a rolled chocolate ganache with some crunchies and ice cream - pretty solid DRINK The mixed drinks looked good visually, but none of a few options were my personal taste so I got a glass of wine. Typically I drink specific reds and the one I ordered should have been great but fell a bit flat (not a bold Chianti Classico, as the name implied) Overall I'd say Juniper is a nice restaurant with a great vibe and nice team, but the food was a bit underwhelming especially for the price of the menu we had on the day we went.

We started with the Meatballs that pair wonderfully with their Italian Bread. Flavorful and plentiful dish and def get the bread! Next came the Bone Marrow & Tuna Crudo. I will say though for some reason after we finished our Meatballs it took them quite a while to bring our dishes after that. Bone Marrow was divine and also paired well with the Italian Bread. Tuna Crudo was not what I expected because it was warm and I was expecting it to be cold. But it was good and I love eggplant. Our main dish was the Agnolotti Alla Piemontese. From the description it seemed to hit all the boxes since we are meat lovers (contains braised beef & pork shoulder) and truffle. I love me some truffle. When we ordered the Agnolotti Alla Piemontese I asked him does it have a lot of truffle flavor because I love truffle. He said oh we can definitely add more truffle if you would like when the dish comes out. When the dish came they had the chef come shave an extra truffle on the dish. I honestly could not taste the difference. Was not enough truffle flavor for me. Note the extra truffle is an added charge. Overall lovely experience. If we return we will need to try some different dishes to give it another try.

After giving our keys away we walked into what is a beautiful outside area at Juliet's. It's a nice mix of feeling like you're in downtown Austin but also not. We went inside to request two seats outside and this is unfortunately where everything fell apart. After being seated all the way at the very corner of the restaurant near the entrance, we didn't receive water for 15 minutes. In fact, we had to ask for water, as well as silverware, from a person who was cleaning a table- not a waiter. We didn't order until about 30 minutes after being seated. We noticed that others around us who were dressed nicer for the occasion were receiving service but we were not (jeans and a nice top as opposed to a dressy outfit). This is less of an accusation and more of an observation. It took another waiter noticing that we had not been served to come over and take our order, and that was 5 minutes after we had to flag down a busser to ask for water. The flip side of that whole first part is that the food was pretty good. We got complimentary table bread (after we asked for it since it never came before our main meal) that was soft and went well with the olive oil it came with. For our entrees we got the shrimp scampi and chicken parm. The shrimp scampi was fantastic and light with creamy and bold flavors in-between. The chicken parm was maybe the largest chicken cutlet we've seen given out at a restaurant. Not only was the cutlet massive but it was delicious as well with a nice, light breading and cheese on top. The spaghetti alongside it was a nice touch but this was a true chicken parm entree as it should be. We were offered a complimentary dessert as an apology for the miscues before we ate but turned it down (still good of them to offer). Leaving was easy as the valet was very attentive and quick to get our car. We wish we could say our time at Juliet's was perfect because the setting and food are very nice and a fun change of pace from the surrounding blocks. However, it's difficult to overlook the mistakes made from the jump. We noticed that another table next to us was also experiencing bad service and looked unhappy enough to leave in the middle of their meal/ We're always open to having good food again so hopefully the next time we're here things are different. Just an unfortunate bittersweet taste to what otherwise would have been a fantastic meal.

Come on that's too easy to mess up with this awful thing you put in front of me. Ok the Penne was cooked to perfection. The sauce with green floating in it tasted good once I got past the floating algae. Sorry Folks but Cousin Louie's is best left for the kids spaghetti feast. No place for grown ups to dine.

ARTIPASTA is a really good neighborhood spot for fresh pasta. We tried four different pastas and…read morethey were all good but none were amazing. Everything tasted freshly made and everyone at our table enjoyed their dishes. The pasta was cooked nicely al dente and the sauces were fine. Nothing was overly strong or bold. Part of me wanted a little more flavor, but overall it worked. The place itself is very no frills. Think strip mall, bright fluorescent lighting, and counter service. It's small, maybe ten tables, and as we were leaving a line had started to form. The ordering area becomes a choke point because there's nowhere to wait if tables are full and there isn't any outdoor seating. On the plus side, it's BYOB, which makes the experience a lot more fun because you can bring whatever bottle you want to pair with your pretty good pasta. They seem to do a brisk takeout business. Honestly, that might be the best way to go if you want fresh, reliable pasta without worrying about the tight seating situation. Solid food, simple vibe, and a great option if you're in the mood for unfussy Italian.

I liked the caprese salad and the taglaia with cream and mushroom sauce. The bread i think i think it was stragilia with olive oil was delicious.
