It's been awhile since we ordered food from here. I believe the last time was the owners before this one & the food was just so good & full. my little brother ordered a lot of food here . Parking: not much street parking but usually the have in the front. Service: The inside looks pretty clean but small.we phone ordered & my brother picked it up before coming home. I noticed all the food seemed a bit over cooked & very...I mean really oily. The portion wasn't as much as other Chinese restaurants we've ordered from. When we started eating the minute chicken with cake noodles, the chicken smelt weird & my kids were saying it was bitter sour. So I made my brother try it & he said the same. He didn't wanna bother going back so he just took off all the chicken & threw it away & ate just the noodles. But the next day my brother & other half had upset stomach. Would we come back? Sadly no. We'll just stick to our other restaurants we've been going to.

Sometimes you can tell when food is made by someone who knows what they're doing, and someone who just knows the ingredients. Hoy Tin Kitchen falls in the "just knows the ingredients" category. I remember the owners used to be the same as Canton Seafood Restaurant not too long ago. The current owners feel like they are just owning it to own it because the food speaks for itself. This place is located along Liliha St, right before Kuakini St., near Jane's Fountain. Only metered, street parking available. No dine in. Takeout only. $10 minimum for credit cards. Menu is your usual Chop Suey/Cantonese style food. Prices were OK. On par with elsewhere. Food took a while to come out, but it sounds like there's just two people working there. I ordered the Beef and Bittermelon with rice. The portion was a very good amount with plenty of rice. Steaming hot! The main flavors were there: black bean sauce and oyster sauce. But there was something just off about the taste. It lacked salt and sugar (maybe MSG too?) to bring everything together. Overall taste was one note and didn't feel right. The sliced beef was weird. It's large slices that varied in thickness. Some were thin and fell apart, but there were thick pieces that was tough. The meat didn't seem like it was marinated as it was quite bland and not tender. The bittermelon was fine, but the slices were so uneven with different thickness, and different shapes and sizes. Rice was okay. Too much water and had that feeling it wasn't cleaned well enough. Overall, the food was lacking something, missing something, and felt like it was just put together without any thought or focus or care. Everything wasn't prepared very well. Beef was oddly sliced that I've never seen before for stir fry. Bittermelon was sloppily sliced. Flavors were off. I don't think I'll come back any time soon.

This restaurant gets very busy during lunchtime, likely serving many business workers from nearby hospitals and offices within walking distance. They do not offer dine-in service; instead, a table is set up at the entrance to prevent people from entering. Be prepared to wait outside for a while, as customer service can be slow. Today, I ordered the half roast duck for $25.99 and an order of crispy gau gee (8 pieces) for $12.99. Note that sauces are only available upon request, so don't forget to ask for them. The sweet and sour sauce was quite watery and lacked flavor. The roast duck was more well-done than usual, making it a bit dry. The crispy gau gee, however, was perfectly fried with a good amount of meat inside--definitely the highlight of the meal.

Fried rice is wet now, Caucasian style. The stuffed egg plant is stretched out you can't taste the pork. Fried pork chops ok.

Changed owners, foods not quite the same. The eggplants stuffed is stretched out so much you can't taste the pork. The fried rice is wet. Caucasian style. No flavor.

Even though I have lived in Liliha for 10+ years now and this place is just around the block for me, I never had the chance to try it. I decided to walk to my doctors appointment and decided to grab lunch on my walk back. I glanced at the menu and they have SO much choices! I decided on the roast duck noodle. I usually go to somewhere else for my roast duck noodle fix, but gave this place a try. It took about 10 minutes for the food to come out and they packaged it really well. I took my food and walked home. I heated it up a little bit more and then put everything into a large bowl. The soup was really clear so I was worried it would be flavorless, but I was wrong. It was flavorful and delicious! There was also so many pieces of roast duck! The roast duck was meaty and savory. There was also a lot of cabbage. I was skeptical at first, but now I can't wait to go back and try the other foods! Glad I was able to support a local store and found a hidden gem in Liliha!

We decided to give this place a try but found it was so disappointing. First of all parking is almost impossible. Unless you're lucky and street parking is open, you end up circling around or park illegally. We tried house special noodle, ba jun tofu casserole (which basically is the same topping except with some tofu), lastly the crispy fried chicken which is the biggest disappointment. It's definitely refried and it does not taste like fresh chicken.

    84B. Minute Chicken Cake Noodle

Ordered Minute chicken cake noodle: great portion for the price and tastes so good. A bit oily so added some vinegar to finish it up. I also ordered spring rolls: it was very normal. It came with red sweet sauce: it was a bit watery and had it better with some chilies.

Crispy roast pork was weak. Little flavor, wrong coloring. It was at least crunchy but otherwise didn't meet expectations. Don't recommend this dish.

The EXPERIENCE however was terrible. I've been to Ahi & Vegetable many times prior to moving and have always enjoyed their bowls, however, It was my first time trying their AYCE sushi. I'll start with the good. I enjoyed the poke bowl and crunch roll. The menu didn't offer a lot of options and many options costed extra per order. It was an interesting set up. They give the table 1 laminated menu and a pen. The table has to decide how much of each item they want and write it in. Apparently the menus are numbered according to table which is how they keep track of orders. They do warn you that they charge for food not eaten. There were no instructions on how to order or a check in of who has been there before. We came hungry so we ordered. Our orders took a long time to come. One of our tables didn't even get their order which makes me think their ordering system failed. Our food comes out but not all of it. They hand back the menus. We order again. Again it takes a while, but dishes sporadically come out and they keep handing the menus back. All of a sudden all these plates are coming out, some I swear we didn't order. We are trying to keep up, the finished dishes are piling up because the staff gave up bussing tables. I kept track of my personal orders and noticed the orders were duplicated and they were bringing out food we didn't order. The lady tried to bring the menu out but the math wasn't "mathing". There were bowls already in take out containers as opposed to the dine in bowls in earlier orders. This signals an expectation to take out. FYI dry erase can easily be changed by staff. Anyway we ended up with a ton of unfinished food and had to pay extra. I had to take home food no one ordered. It was a mess. I want to blame our large party, but my other coworker was there the same night with just her husband and even they were being handed food they never ordered. Do I think their system is a scam to get you to pay more? Absolutely. Would I go there for AYCE again? Absolutely not. Would I take out a small order? Perhaps.
