Came here for the first time in a long time. I love their Spicy Ahi and Shoyu Ahi poke. I tried the Ultimate Poke for the first time and it was delicious and came with a mixture of different fishes. I also ordered the Loko Taco which a bit bland. The Shoyu Ahi is delicious before the shoyu goes in. The spicy ahi is always my favorite. I was bummed because they didn't have smoked marlin chip dip available. Overall, decently priced for the quality of the food. Staff are very friendly and fast. Lots of parking and they also have a restaurant next door. I believe during the day, their restaurant is more of a food court so you can sit at the tables to eat your poke.

Checked out Nico's Fish Market on a New Year's Day afternoon . Located in Kalihi, a bit away from Waikīkī -- best if you drive , with plenty of parking in a big gravel lot. The market sits right next to their main Pier 38 restaurant in a semi-industrial pier area . - spicy ahi poke - creamy spicy mayo ahi tuna, loaded with furikake if you get the bowl - shoyu ahi poke - soy sauce, sesame oil, onions, sesame seeds -- simple & perfect - Hawaiian plate combo - lau lau, kalua pork, lomi salmon, rice -- variety-packed Plenty of outdoor tables to enjoy your poke, plus occasional live music from the restaurant next door. Fast service and barely a line! We grabbed poke bowls and quarter pounds to sample more flavors. Fish is super fresh, marinated just right, and toppings are generous. Bonus: peaceful marina views while you eat.

One of the best places to get FRESH, WILD CAUGHT poke. The flavors and seasonings are great and I love that you can load up on your own toppings. The workers pile on the poke with a choice of THREE different kinds of poke. Where else can you get that with the price? Nowhere. This place is hard to beat.

Amazing! A friend of mine took me here on my last day on the island and I absolutely loved it! As someone else said if you love fresh poke, and lots of it this is the spot for you. Absolutely stellar! I will make this a part of my routine whenever I come on island now and I will recommend this over Foodland, which was my go-to before. They have a fish market side and right next door they have their restaurant and bar side Pier 38. Highly recommend both!

Freshest fish from ahi, salmon, aku, hamachi and more. They have a variety of fresh poke from shoyu, ahi deluxe, wasabi hamachi, tako, spicy ahi and more. You can order a poke bowl with a mix of up to 3 poke flavors with brown or white rice. They have a variety of smoked fish too. Plenty of desserts from crème brûlée, delicious haupia, haupia ube pie on macadamia nut crust, also delicious. Cookies, chips, drinks, beer, candy. Friendly staff, good prices and the freshest fish! Grab your food and grab a table next door at Nico's restaurant and enjoy the live music!

Love the fish market. Most people come on site to eat at Nico's Pier 38...which is good but I'm here for some amazing fresh poke. Always greeted with aloha. Can't recommend enough. If you're a poke fan it's a must.

$16 blue fin tuna was so fresh!

I love Nico's. I try to come here at least once every time I visit Hawaii. My go to is always their fresh cut of blue fin tuna sashimi. You can take whatever you bought at the fish market to the restaurant next door. If you are staying nearby with a kitchen, I'd totally get their block of fresh sashimi as they are such good quality. If you only want a few slices, they have all sorts of portions starting from a few slices. Those are only like $3. Totally worth it! They also have poke and some sushi. If you are more of a dessert person, they have haupia, ube dessert, and such.

If you love a poke bowl with a good fish to rice ratio, this is the place for you! Nico's Fish Market is next door to Nico's Pier 38 restaurant and honestly, half the time I end up detouring and coming in here instead because I can never turn down a good poke bowl. There's all kinds of goodies and deals in this spot and I wish I started coming here much earlier! The poke counter is in the back of the market and you can either order poke by itself or as a poke bowl. Poke bowl costs around $17 and you can pick up to three choices to have in your bowl. There's a variety of fish including ahi, salmon, au, scallop, and tako. I chose shoyu ahi, spicy ahi, and spicy scallops for my poke bowl. The fish was fresh and the flavor was great! Also, I need to give a shout out to the fantastic people who work the poke counter because they're always so nice and cheerful! There's also a little area on the counter with free toppings you can add to your bowl including Furikake, sesame seeds, fried garlic, and kabayaki sauce. They also have a variety of grab and go items such as sushi and desserts, as well as a place where you can buy fish by the fillet. So far I've purchased both ono and ahi belly to cook with while here and it's my favorite place to get quality fish on sale. There's a large parking lot outside the market and I've never had issues with parking. Location is great, right on the ocean near Costco. You can also grab your poke bowl and head next door to Nico's Pier 38 if you want to eat your food there instead. It's spacious, and there's also a nice view of the water. If you have friends visiting from off-island and want to take them somewhere with a solid poke bowl, I would highly recommend this place.

So I ate already, but I had to expand my stomach more to accommodate some poke. How do you expand your stomach? Will power. THE FOOD ELABORATION. - A'u Poke | Marlin fish. Lean, but tender. Fresh as hell. - Salmon Poke | Sesame oil is always a welcomed sight (and flavor). It's a fatty fish, which is more tender and of course, fresh as well. Highly recommend this. THE VIBE EVOCATION. It's a small market with its own entrance, but has a connecting door with Nico's Pier 38 too. They do sell other things such as snacks, souvenirs, and hot food items. THE PARKING AFFAIR. Free parking is adjacent to the fish market. The area is a gravel/dirt lot. I'm sure there are other areas to park, but found this to be closest to the entrance. THE RETURN QUANDARY. I'd come back for more poke!

And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab. I thought back then was to look at everything but now I understand that it meant something more..... something special--time with my dad. It's with a sad heart that Tamishiro Market is now closed. Thank you, Tamashiro, for providing quality food and memories for so many years. You were more than a market--you were part of my childhood

It's just extremely congested and sometimes too busy inside. Cleanliness can be an issue for some but for the most part I'm buying vegetables and fruit and that's enough for me. I used to take my knives to be sharpened in this area but this review is just for the vendors I shopped at. I needed papaya, fresh vegetables and fruits. I saw many vendors that share the same items so sooner or later if you become a regular you will have your favorite vendor you will lean towards. They have vendors that sell already prepared mainly Filipino foods and desserts. They have vendors that sell you fresh fish and seafood as well as fresh meats. I always go to farmers market but I decided to start shopping here. It's convenient for what I was looking for. I see I can buy seasonings and noodles (dry packets) as well as many other things. I will return again when I'm running low on stuff. The prices aren't terrible but not that inexpensive either. You can find some bargain vegetables that aren't pretty but for $1 a piece it's good if you're using them up that day. I say try and go around and see what you can find. Plenty of convenient parking. Nearby outside there's Kamehameha bakery, sugoi'a and other eateries. Nearby is Costco and Costco gas and Home Depot so you can't go wrong.

We were the only customers inside when we arrived but couldn't decide on how many to buy. In a blink of an eye, the place was packed and it took awhile to make our purchase. When we were finally helped again, we purchased two live Dungeness crabs. She gave us two huge ones! Seeing the crab cleaning in real life vs YouTube is totally different! It was a quick steam and we had our dinner ready. Don't worry, we also picked up take out from Thai Issan to accompany the crab. Mink made some homemade Thai seafood sauce. It was the perfect compliment to the plump and sweet crab meat. Yes, she made something in the kitchen! Thank social media or YouTube!
