I went here looking for poke or sashimi, and ended up with some hamachi. The prices are good, fish is fresh, and the staff are super nice and personable! It's just a few fridges, but it's clean and doesn't smell like a fish market at all.

There are fresh fish markets all over Honolulu but this is my new favorite. First off Chris greets you like your a long time customer and is very knowledgeable. Most fish Mkts have an unpleasant aroma and are a mess (no names). This is the first time ever that everything was immaculate. Great selection of specialty items like fresh uni. Speaking of fresh there is no fresher or higher quality fresh fish anywhere for retail customers. Shockingly fresh. Can't wait to return. Ok parking.

Great spot for seafood with good drinks. They have lots of seating to include outdoors and at the bar area. We've sat at the bar both visits and their service was timely and friendly!

The fish auction on Saturdays from 6-7 am is very cool even to witness. It's $30 to attend. Dress warmly because it's 45 degrees inside.

We had an awesome brunch here. We made reservations online with no problem. Our waitress was very attentive and the food we ordered was excellent. I will be definitely returning soon.

Had lunch today at Nami Kaze right next door to Pier 38 Fish Market . Seen this fish market on television so since I was in the area I was curious to see what they have. To my surprise very fresh fish also prices are very reasonable. They mentioned in the segment on TV that it's very fresh straight from the fishing boats right to their Market . What caught my eye was their crab flakes in a can . I seen it before in some supermarkets but not nowadays. They sell it here only for $16.95 Wow ! That's very cheap normally it would cost about $22.95 at Times. They also carry ready to make poke just need to add the shoyu. Very clean nice selection and friendly staff. When I was leaving someone came in to pick up his pre -order case of king crab legs . I'm curious what they sell it for . Normally during Holidays Costco have the best prices . Maybe I'll be coming here for my future crab legs ha ha . Support local

What a fun find! Pier 38 fish market is located in the same complex as Nicos, but they are more towards the back where Namikaze is. There's lots of free parking and open quite late too! I actually attempted to come here twice. It was closed the first time (Monday) when i tried to pay a visit since i was in the area. I finally made it back on another day during their normal operating hours. Its a small location with a tank of crustaceans and a huge fridge with lots of items on display. It was mostly Ahi when i was there, but they also had canned crab too. I was shocked to see that the prices were pretty decent here. The tray i bought was about $17-18 and it was a good amount of otoro in there. I ate the sashimi for a bit and got so bored of eating it that i ended up making negitoro with the remaining slices. It was probably cheaper for me to get the unsliced one in reality. Service was also friendly, but i was also the only one in the shop at the time.

P38FM main entrance is located next to Namikaze. Parking lot is located on the canal side of the Fresh Island Fish building, and there is a dirt lot between Namikaze and Nico's Pier 38 Restaurant. Also, a large parking lot fronting Nimitz Hwy. (Note: Don't park along POP Fishing & Marine building or in their parking lot, as you might get towed. Signs clearly state who the parking stalls are deemed for. Not a fun thing getting your car out of the pound.) No restrooms. No seating. Grab 'n Go only Wide variety of take-home & cook fish fillet. The salmon looked really good. Market priced.

Sea asparagus!

Small space with excellent seafood and good prices. Nico's fish market across the parking lot has better poke prices, but their ikura prices are the lowest I've seen. They also carry sea asparagus which is often hard to find.

After having lunch at Nami Kazi, my brother-in-law Craig T asked if I wanted to check out the new fish market. The market had a wide display of freshly packaged seafood products. I decided to buy a container of Ikura. This is one of my wife's seafood favorites. Just had some. It was fresh and delicious. If you want fresh off the boat seafood this is the place. Enjoy

Ordered sashimi ahi and got this crap.

The quality has really gone down hill. Let me preface that in the past, we would order ahi on their website and always had nice pieces. Yesterday, we ordered the "3 lb Chunk Sashimi Grade" , went to pick it up (the ahi was wrapped up), went home and had this. Picture 1 is what the ahi looked like wrapped up and Picture 2 is what the ahi looked like unwrapped. Obviously not sashimi quality, the ahi looks like it was cut with a bad knife.

I want to check out this place on a Tuesday, the shelf is not that full, they have fish filet, and other saccording to the sales, they have more merchandise during the weekend. I pick so Ahi and tobiko and make my poke , the ingredient is pretty fresh. I will for sure going back to check them out on the weekend.

Horrible!

Finally got the chance to check this place out. What a waste of time and $!! We bought a tray of BLUEFIN SASHIMI. it looked so good! Let me tell you, it's horrible! Chewy as heck! It's the worst sashimi we have ever had! I don't recommend buying fish from this establishment! You will be wasting your hard earned money! Really wish I could get a refund!

Do they sell wasabi to go with the sashimi?

They have wasabi and shoyu packets available for free, just ask the sales associates.

And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab. I thought back then was to look at everything but now I understand that it meant something more..... something special--time with my dad. It's with a sad heart that Tamishiro Market is now closed. Thank you, Tamashiro, for providing quality food and memories for so many years. You were more than a market--you were part of my childhood

Shopping in Kalihi, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. Looking for fresh produce, cooking ingredients, cold beverages, or other refrigerated items? Check our Brian's Produce... Located at the righthand side entrance of The Marketplace at City Square, Brian's Produce is the vendor to the left. The air-conditioning (even though the door is open), free parking, level flooring, good lighting, and convenient restroom are much appreciated! FYI: Kahuku papaya is just $2.99 a pound... and Butter avocado is currently $3.99 a pound! I liked the large jars of colored nata de coco... for future almond float desserts... mmm! Just $8.99 for 32 ounces! I got a bottle of green nata de coco!

It's just extremely congested and sometimes too busy inside. Cleanliness can be an issue for some but for the most part I'm buying vegetables and fruit and that's enough for me. I used to take my knives to be sharpened in this area but this review is just for the vendors I shopped at. I needed papaya, fresh vegetables and fruits. I saw many vendors that share the same items so sooner or later if you become a regular you will have your favorite vendor you will lean towards. They have vendors that sell already prepared mainly Filipino foods and desserts. They have vendors that sell you fresh fish and seafood as well as fresh meats. I always go to farmers market but I decided to start shopping here. It's convenient for what I was looking for. I see I can buy seasonings and noodles (dry packets) as well as many other things. I will return again when I'm running low on stuff. The prices aren't terrible but not that inexpensive either. You can find some bargain vegetables that aren't pretty but for $1 a piece it's good if you're using them up that day. I say try and go around and see what you can find. Plenty of convenient parking. Nearby outside there's Kamehameha bakery, sugoi'a and other eateries. Nearby is Costco and Costco gas and Home Depot so you can't go wrong.

We were the only customers inside when we arrived but couldn't decide on how many to buy. In a blink of an eye, the place was packed and it took awhile to make our purchase. When we were finally helped again, we purchased two live Dungeness crabs. She gave us two huge ones! Cleaning was offered but my dad said it'll taste better to keep them alive till we're about to eat them. We politely declined the cleaning and paid. Bring cash! I was going to pay by credit card but they said cash. They probably don't want to pay processing fees. The crabs were still moving around on the way home and up till the moment we cleaned them. Seeing the crab cleaning in real life vs YouTube is totally different! It was a quick steam and we had our dinner ready. Don't worry, we also picked up take out from Thai Issan to accompany the crab. Mink made some homemade Thai seafood sauce. It was the perfect compliment to the plump and sweet crab meat. Yes, she made something in the kitchen! Thank social media or YouTube! I liked that there was a condiment bar at the end to add any toppings you wanted. The fish was fresh and well seasoned, with no fishiness at all. I just wished there was a bit more white onion for crunch, but it was good regardless. The Fish and Chips were really good. The fish was super crispy, the meat was firm, and the fries were nicely fried. The tartar sauce or maybe more of a lemony aioli, was the star. It wasn't your usual tartar sauce; it had a homemade lemony sweetness that made it delicious. My only complaint was that the batter came off the fish pretty easily, which made it a bit tricky to eat at times.
