We got half a dozen oysters to start and they were huge and fresh! We also shared a basket of fried catfish and they were delicious! We got the crab leg combo medium spice in the everything sauce (I got a side in the extra hot) and loved the flavor! Only reason I'm giving it a 4/5 star is because of the service. The anticipating for things was just lacking. It wasn't busy and everyone just kinda hung out behind the bar. No spoons for the rice so we had to wait and find someone to get us spoons. Customer service in the front is horrible. What a lame policy, have to wait for everyone? The worse policy, like I'm not about to drop a whole bunch of money and order ahead of time for my family? We ordered the bang bang shrimp (non-spicy) and it was really good. Since our daughter wanted more, my wife ordered another one--also non-spicy. This time, it came out noticeably spicy. Our daughter took one bite and said it was too spicy, so my wife and I tried it as well and agreed it definitely was a bit spicy for our daughter. We let our server know, and she was helpful and took it back. When the dish returned, we were told the kitchen said it was made non-spicy--but it still tasted spicy to us. We politely asked for a new one with no spice. At that point, the cook came out and immediately had an attitude, asking what was wrong with it and insisting he made it correctly. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, he was defensive and rude, even shaking his head as he walked away. Because of how uncomfortable the situation became, we decided to just cancel the order. Before leaving, we asked to speak to a manager. Unfortunately, the same person who cooked the shrimp came out--and he was even more unprofessional. As we tried to calmly explain the situation and how he came across, he told us we could leave and said he would call security. That was honestly shocking. For context, I'm a cook and my wife is a server, so we understand how the restaurant industry works. Mistakes happen--that's not the issue. It's how they're handled. My husband and I went to The Boiling Crab the other weekend with my son and daughter in-law. They have gone several time before but this was our first time. The food was great and very favorable without being spicy. My husband cannot eat spicy food but our waitress was very sweet and assured us that they could make it not spicy. Boiling Crab is so our go-to place! There is always ample parking, whether it is on the street or in the garage. The wait time is usually not horrendous, and the employees are always so nice! Their music always has us dancing in our seats while we eat. We tend to get the crawfish combo because my little one loves crawfish... but he also loves mussels and clams! We get our food seasoned with butter and garlic and no spice since we are not too fond of spicy food. All with Rajun Cajun seasoning medium. I love it came with the white rice. Also the combo is no substitutes. The Spicy flavors here is Thai heat. Therefore it's supposed to get hotter as you eat it. I usually love it super spicy but since it was my first time doing Thai heat. I stuck to the medium heat. My food came out hot. My family food was not hot and they returned it. They bags came back hotter and they enjoyed it. There was no buckets for the shells. They gave you bags to put them in. Which were the same type of bags your order was in. The flavors were great! You don't even need to get the hot sauce and butter to make your own dipping sauce. I just kept dipping it in the bag of flavorful juice. I beheaded the shrimp, deveined it and ate it. It was soggy just trying to peel it. After one I decided I was not going to waste my time on the rest. The drink was good, I do recommend. Overall we enjoyed it and the service. Sauce was good, service was good but the amount you get for what we paid wasn't good at all. The crab was small and tasted more fishy than I'm used to. Shrimp overcooked and hard to take the shell off. I don't like clams or mussels but tried it and that taste wasn't good either. Rice wasn't cooked well. Corn was good, sausage and potatoes were good. From the get go people in my party said there was a couple workers that gave them attitude.
