Just keep in mind that eating the seafood boil can get very, very messy, especially if you're bringing children, so I would definitely take that into consideration. If you have sensory issues with food textures, the seafood boil bag might not be for you, but thankfully they have plenty of other options on the menu, so there's still a lot to choose from. The portions are also very generous, especially the seafood boil bags! One thing to know: even the mild seasoning gets pretty spicy the more you eat. If you don't like spicy food or can't handle much heat, I'd recommend ordering the non-spicy option. It's incredible on the seafood, but honestly, I could dip just about anything in it. The fries are amazing with it, and even the catfish takes on a whole new level of flavor when you dunk it in that sauce. I'd probably consider myself a regular at this point, and 9 out of 10 visits the food is phenomenal. Every once in a great while--maybe once every six months--you'll get seafood that's a little fishier than expected, and it might make you hesitate before coming back. But then your next visit reminds you exactly why you keep returning. The food is consistently some of the best seafood you'll find. The service is another reason I love this place. The wait staff is always friendly, especially one of the local aunties who always makes us feel welcome. The manager is constantly walking the dining room, checking on guests and making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. It's refreshing to see a manager who genuinely cares about the customer experience. The restaurant itself is a lot of fun. Definitely not bias because I have tried multiple spots on Oahu that offers seafood boil; but till this day, Boiling Crab has been my number one favorite. If you're gonna sell seafood boil at a restaurant you gotta make sure you know how to season the food. I was so happy to know there was a boiling crab in Honolulu and knew we had to go!! We came around 6 pm on a Saturday and was expecting it to be jammed packed like the one in Vegas but luckily there was no wait and we were seated right away! One thing to note: the parking system at SALT is a hassle. Unless you've already set up your credit card with the app ahead of time, it's not very user-friendly -- especially for older people like my parents. It's all digital, and you must remember to scan the validation QR code from the restaurant, or you'll be charged the full rate. For how much we spent on the meal, it's disappointing that parking wasn't fully covered. At that price point, it should be. If you're wondering if you can handle a higher spice level the answer is probably no. We ordered the mild and it definitely had some heat! They provide you lemons and some salt and pepper to help with the spice. The place validates your parking, so you can park in the structure on site. The service was alright. Our waiter got a bit busy during the service and forgot our eggs and our extra gloves. We had to ask multiple times for that. They have indoor and outdoor seating. 04/11/2026 7pm party of 16-20 people. Disappointed with Service and Management We came in tonight excited for dinner and at first everything started off great. We ordered the bang bang shrimp (non-spicy) and it was really good. Since our daughter wanted more, my wife ordered another one--also non-spicy. This time, it came out noticeably spicy. Our daughter took one bite and said it was too spicy, so my wife and I tried it as well and agreed it definitely was a bit spicy for our daughter. We let our server know, and she was helpful and took it back. When the dish returned, we were told the kitchen said it was made non-spicy--but it still tasted spicy to us. We politely asked for a new one with no spice. At that point, the cook came out and immediately had an attitude, asking what was wrong with it and insisting he made it correctly. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, he was defensive and rude, even shaking his head as he walked away. Because of how uncomfortable the situation became, we decided to just cancel the order. Before leaving, we asked to speak to a manager. Unfortunately, the same person who cooked the shrimp came out--and he was even more unprofessional. As we tried to calmly explain the situation and how he came across, he told us we could leave and said he would call security. That was honestly shocking. For context, I'm a cook and my wife is a server, so we understand how the restaurant industry works. Mistakes happen--that's not the issue. It's how they're handled. This situation could have easily been fixed with a simple remake and a better attitude. Really disappointed in how this was handled from start to finish. read more

Boiling Crab is so our go-to place! There is always ample parking, whether it is on the street or in the garage. The wait time is usually not horrendous, and the employees are always so nice! Their music always has us dancing in our seats while we eat. We tend to get the crawfish combo because my little one loves crawfish... but he also loves mussels and clams! We get our food seasoned with butter and garlic and no spice since we are not too fond of spicy food. Friendly staff all around which made me feel so comfortable, it was busy so we had to wait but that wasn't a problem at all and so worth it in the end.
