Da Seafood Cartel has been on my radar for a long time. Getting a to try Da OG Tostada at the Kakaako Farmers Market was what turned the trip to their Aiea spot into a NEED instead of a want. Located at the old Wally Ho's Garage & Grill (Never got to try them, I regret it to this day), there's plenty of outdoor seating under the roof of the old gas station. Go inside, order up, and take a seat with your number. Da OG Tostada is basically mandatory, so that's your first item. A crispy tostada with a layer of creamy blue crab dip as the base. My foodie friend Faith recommended this place to us and we're glad we tried it. We ordered the OG tostada and tostada de atun. Of the two, we surprisingly ended up liking the latter more, as it had more of an Asian flair to it, whereas the OG tostada just tasted like traditional ceviche. Each tostada came with a generous amount of fish, which made the pricing more worth it. Although the tostadas were good, we didn't care for the steak quesadilla, nor the Mexican rice. The rice tasted oddly charred and smoky, which was not at all what we were expecting. It was honestly hard to finish. We tried mentioning it to the staff, but they seemed dismissive. The hype is real! I've been seeing this place on my fyp on social media and I knew I had to try it! First off, don't be alarmed when you pull up to a mechanic shop on the side of the road. Although in a weird spot, I promise the food is worth it! I personally have never had this type of Mexican food before. I'm used to chimichangas, enchiladas, street tacos so I was really out of my comfort zone here. But, I'm so glad it gave it a try because it was delicious! My friends & I came here for lunch and it was pretty busy. The line to order was out the door! I already knew I wanted Da OG Tostada with the infamous blue crab dip and shrimp ceviche. It was soooo refreshing & citrusy! The ceviche and well with the crab dip. The tostada was super crunchy despite all the juices from the dip and ceviche. My friends ordered the Kiawe Smoked Marlin tacos and the Ahi Tostada. They said they were delicious as well. The marlin was smoked and deep fried. Finally tried this place after everyone I know recommended it to me. Located in Aiea at what seems like a gas station pit stop, is actually the best Mexican food spot on island. I highly recommend ordering the blue crab dip, shrimp ceviche (with tostada shells) and any of their tacos from the steak and shrimp taco Cabo to their fried fish tacos. The seafood is fresh and every bite, from the salsa to the tortilla, is bursting with flavor. Seating and a few parking stalls are available outside. Ordering is pretty quick and convenient. Delicious Mexican seafood place! Located in an old gas station, who would have thought such amazing food would be possible? You order in the restaurant, and then you can sit at the tables and chairs outside. If you're dining there, then they will give you a number and bring the food out to you. The food came out pretty quickly, except for my tostada de atun. But it was totally worth the wait! Parking and seating is very limited, so be prepared. The food and service is amazing! This place is a well oiled machine. The demographic of patrons is a mix of young, old, all ethnicities - which is a great sign! This place gets slammed! Came here with a girlfriend on a Monday night and it was packed. Service is really quick though and there is a decent amount of seating. We got da OG tostada, shrimp taco and steak taco. Everything was fresh and tasty. Couldn't really taste the blue crab tobiko spread on the tostada but next time I go, I'll get the takeout pack to try it on its own. The ceviche was amazing. Prices are what you would expect for seafood and Hawaii. The reggaeton made the atmosphere fun. My wife was telling me about this place and we couldn't wait to try their ceviche tostada with blue crab spread! We got to the place and it looked like a gas station. It's unique and feels like something out of San Diego or something. It was a cool vibe. I felt like I was back in Cali with the Mexican music in the background. There are tables outside but they get taken quick so try and grab one when you can. I ordered their chicharron de pescado, marlin quesadilla, and a tub of ceviche with blue crab spread and a pack of tostadas. This all came to about $100. The chicharron pescado was pretty decent. The mahi mahi fish bites were tender but tasted a bit like regular fish sticks from elementary. I also wasn't a big fan of their marlin quesadilla either. The marlin meat was way too smoked and blackened for my taste. It's bold and peppery and didn't pair well with the cheese or tortilla. I wish it wasn't so strong tasting. The meat was pretty dry too. My wife and I, did enjoy the ceviche tostadas though. This was tasty and fresh. The blue crab spread makes this and without it, the whole thing would just be too plain tasting. A hidden gem of a restuarant. Anytime I'm in Aiea I have to stop and grab "Da OG Tostada". The flavors are incredible and everything tastes so fresh. The tostada is crispy and I love the blue crab tobiko spread aired with the ceviche. I aways order the shrimp and fish mixture for variety. It's very filling and leaves you satisfied. The quality is always consistent and the staff is very friendly. There isn't a whole lot of places to sit when they are busy and it's right off the highway. The shrimp taco is huge. I split it between the 2 tortillas and made 2 tacos and one got stolen by my boys. So yummy so fresh. Chips and salsa! We visit the seafood cartel often. The food is always good. Staff is pretty nice. Our last visit was on Friday, May 22nd and I just wanted to give the cooks recognition. Have been meaning to check out this spot for a minute but just hadn't been able to until today. I stopped by here at 11am on Saturday after a hike. It was "crowded" in that there is a very limited dining area and out door seating area. We managed to snag a table by asking another couple if they were using both of their tables which were put together. Fortunately they weren't. If you're outside, it's also super loud because of the traffic. Probably goes without saying but if you're on a first date or whatever perhaps not the most ideal spot. So we stood in line. Make sure to grab a menu while you're there if you don't have it pulled up on your phone. I ordered fish taco (singular)...i guess they don't do three for whatever like many other places do. That's fine. My date ordered the Tostada de Atun (tuna). And then I ordered a 16oz ceviche to go. I guess I assumed the ceviche would be fish, but i think it's shrimp. Everything was tasty, especially the ceviche. If it was regular fish ceviche, it would have been 20/10. I'm not a huge fan of shrimp and it was still a solid 9/10. Came to Da Seafood Cartel after seeing an influencer post about it on TikTok. It's conveniently located in an old gas station right off the highway. The parking situation is not ideal with only about 6 tandem stalls dedicated to the restaurant. My friends had to find parking in a lot nearby. The seating is outdoors but covered. I got the fish tacos and chips and guac. The fish tacos were super good! I loved how big the pieces of fish were. The chips were the thick tortilla chips that I really like, and the guac was good but nothing super special. Loved the casual vibes of the place, and the food was delicious! 04/30/26 First time coming here after reading from fellow yelpers about how good their food is and in agreement that it is hard to find decent Mexican food on this island. I placed a pickup order online and the pickup time was about 15 minutes. This place is easy to find because it's right on Kamehameha Hwy just past Dixie Grill in Aiea. The problem when you get there is the limited parking spaces, it's crazy. You cannot park in the large parking lot where Dixie Grill is and other businesses, or you'll get towed. There are signs everywhere of which businesses these spaces are for. The only designated parking for Da Seafood Cartel is right in front of the restaurant - 2 spaces, parking tandem style or 3 spaces to the right of the door entrance, also tandem style parking. So in actuality, 6 spaces there. When I got there I parked in the spaces next to the door but had to pull in. I was hoping that my order would be ready and it would be a quick in and out before anyone parked behind me. Entered the restaurant and was greeted by a very friendly & personable gal behind the counter. She informed me my order will just be another minute. Before I knew it, she had it all packed up. When I got to my car, another car had already pulled up behind me, oh great! I was hoping that person was not dining there and just doing takeout so I wouldn't have to wait forever. Just under 5 minutes, a young mother with her baby walked toward this car, yes! I was free and able to leave shortly. I ordered several things to try- Steak quesadilla $14.95 - awesome! Good portion of beef melted into the cheese, grilled flour tortilla. The meat was so tender, taste was spot-on, my favorite item there, 5 star quesadilla. Mixed tacos $10.95. You just get one for this price, but it is worth it. It had fish and shrimp, both battered deep fried top with cole slaw, pico de gallo, & chipotle. The chipotle added just a little kick and blended well with the slaw and seafood. This taco was so packed that you couldn't even close it like a taco but somehow I managed. Make sure you have lots of napkins because it is one hot mess. It was so ono, another 5 star item. Da OG tostada $11.95 - I usually don't eat tostadas but this one I wanted to try. I like the fact they packed the ingredients separately for takeout orders so it doesn't get all soggy, appreciate that. After putting it all together and tasted it, it was another awesome tasting item. The blue crab spread on the bottom of the tortilla. This item comes with 2 tortillas and they give such a small container to spread on both. I wish the container was a little bigger. The fish ceviche was delicious and just packed wtih chunks of fish which blended well with the blue crab spread. Yum and this is item is a 5 star. Side guacamole with chips $7.95 Yummy, in-house tortilla chips are the best. They give a small bag but it is stuffed with chips. It had a nice thickness to it and went well with the guacamole. The guacamole had a brownish layer on top when I opened the lid that did not look appetizing but after a good stir, it blended into the rest of the guacamole. It was pretty good . This side I'd rate a 4 star. Overall, decent place to get your taste of authentic Mexican dishes, great customer service, food was ono. The place has some chairs inside and outside but not as much as the crowd it gets. The food is definitely good but I don't know if it's as amazing as others say. This place is absolutely LEGIT. No frills, no gimmicks - just ridiculously good Mexican seafood that punches you in the face with flavor from the first bite. The kind of spot where you know the food is going to be good before you even sit down. The ceviche was insanely fresh and loaded with flavor. The homemade chips had the perfect crunch, and the BSOD ("Black Sauce of Death") absolutely lives up to the name in the best possible way. Spicy, smoky, addictive... I'm still thinking about it. Now this is the best Mexican (and seafood) spot I've had on O'ahu. I thought I left a review for this spot but turns out I haven't. I've come here several times already and have brought several out of town guests to eat. We first heard about this from some friends who brought Blue Marlin Dip and their Ceviche to a gathering. It was absolutely delicious. Then we discovered their Fish Tacos which were phenomenal. My family, which is from Ensenada, MX, also boasted about how delicious their fish tacos were. Whenever I have a chance, I'll grab their fish tacos, dip, and ceviche - couple with a "Mexican Coke". The service is good. Nothing to boast about. I would prefer if they came to take our order instead of ordering at the front since when I bring larger parties, it becomes a challenge to get everyone's order right. However, the staff is always friendly. The ambiance is quite a challenge since it's right off Kam Hwy. We have young children and it's hard to relax since we are always double-checking they are safe. The fish portions were actually a really good size too, which I appreciated. Definitely recommend trying their marlin tobiko dip amd chips! The service was quick and friendly. There's a decent amount of seating, but just a heads up that parking is a little tight with some tandem spots in a small lot. It can get noisy since the place is right next to the road. I honestly think you're better off dining in rather than ordering takeout. We came here on Father's Day, so I knew it was going to be busy and decided to order takeout instead. Since everything is made to order, I expected the food to come out fresh. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. While waiting for my order, I watched it sit on the counter for quite a while as an employee continued prepping crab tobiko. During that time, at least five parties who ordered after me received their food first. It seemed like getting completed orders out to customers should have been prioritized. Another concern was seeing a gentleman preparing cucumbers sneeze twice while working. The reactions from the other employees suggested they noticed it as well. The owner appeared to be actively supervising the staff, and I understand that holidays can be hectic, but it was still something that stood out to me. Once we got home, the shrimp ceviche was a big hit. Unfortunately, my tacos were soggy, which I suspect was due to how long they sat on the counter before being handed over. It was a warm day, so we were looking for something chilled and refreshing...Mexi-Papa who seems like an authority on Mexican food out of LA came to Hawaii and RAVED about this spot so I figured we go check them out. Mistah Mean also raved about this spot as well, but then again, EVERYTHING including gas and color treated poke is mean to him!? SMH.... Ordered the mixed seafood cocktail(think it was called Cartel Cocktail or whatever but it was forgettable. Should have been called MANINI seafood cocktail because for $25, I expected more than 4 thin slices of octopus, a few shrimp. Free parking in shared lot as Dixie Grill or if it's not crowded, pull up on left side of outdoor seating area. Choose where you'd prefer to sit for either indoor or outdoor seating. Steak Tacos (2 per order): Hubby said his steak tacos were awesome! That's a high compliment from a person who gravitates to Chinese food when he's happy and sad. Hahahahaha! Steaks are made fresh to order, juicy and tender. Steak Quesadillas (4 slices per order): Pieces are tender, juicy, heat hot, surrounded with cheese, and grilled on flour tortilla. Da OG Tostada: Fresh blue crab, ceviche spread, fresh avocado slices. Able to taste the crunch from the tostada. Do not underestimate the size. Filling and flavorful chill after consuming just one. Salsa and Chips x2: Homemade tortilla chips fried to crispy perfection. Fresh and crunchy. Nom! Nom! Nom! Homemade salsa in Español is caliente! Locals will describe it as fiyah! No more oily chips! It's not heat hot or warm. We gladly accept homemade anytime! Kindly inform your Server if you need more chips and salsa to go which is no extra charge. Our Server happily provided extra chips, empty container for chips, another container for salsa, extra container for steak quesadillas at no charge. Horchata: Light, refreshing and complemented each item. Could go for round two! An amazing experience! Based on StaciLei recommendations we thought we'd try this out and were not disappointed! We are skeptical of Mexican food as we come from California but the food was spot on. In a converted gas station is a cute, casual food haven for Mexican food. It's a byob spot with outdoor tables. The roaring of motorcycles on the road only adds to the atmosphere. The selection is good and service fast, food delicious! A new go to spot!! read more

MY FAVORITE PLACE! Literally the best ceviche and fish tacos. Ceviche is always fresh and the fish tacos are seasoned perfectly and always crispy on the outside. Blue crab dip is ok by itself, I feel like it could've used a little lime but adding that with your ceviche and hot sauce is amazing. It's been a little busier so seats are sometimes limited but people are always coming and going so wait not long. Staff is super friendly. Love the causal vibes of the place, nothing fancy cuz it looks like they converted an old gas station into the restaurant. There's plenty of parking spaces next to it but you have to be careful not to miss it or you have to take a little loop since it is in the side of the highway. read more

To start this off, just straight up WOW. This spot has been on my list for a while, I have been wanting to come by but never pulled the trigger on driving to this side. I happened to be on Aiea side to do a hike so grubbing on some amazing Mexican food was the best way to end the activity. The parking was a bit wonky, so we drove to a nearby lot, parked there, and walked over. It was a bit self-service, with tables you grab yourself and you just order at the counter yourself (although they do bring the food out to you). There are tables outside and inside. We got the taco cabo, ceviche tostada, and steak quesadilla. - The taco cabo was 11/10, it was SO GOOD and a MUST ORDER. - The ceviche tostada was good but I felt like if all the components were separate, it would be much better, 7.5/10. The blue crab dip started to mix and get watered down by the vinegar from the ceviche and it was just kind of hard to eat. - The quesadilla was good but nothing special, simple and well done 8/10. Overall, I would 10000% come back again, especially for the taco cabo and to try their other dishes. No complaints here! read more
