Tostada de atun and OG tostada
    Nancy T.

My foodie friend Faith recommended this place to us and we're glad we tried it. We ordered the OG tostada and tostada de atun. Of the two, we surprisingly ended up liking the latter more, as it had more of an Asian flair to it, whereas the OG tostada just tasted like traditional ceviche. Each tostada came with a generous amount of fish, which made the pricing more worth it. Although the tostadas were good, we didn't care for the steak quesadilla, nor the Mexican rice. The rice tasted oddly charred and smoky, which was not at all what we were expecting. It was honestly hard to finish. We tried mentioning it to the staff, but they seemed dismissive. Also, the parking is a hot mess here! There's literally only three small lanes that can fit two to three cars per lane for tandem parking.

Flavors hit hard. Smokiness in the tuna was seriously delicious. Salsa was spot on, service great.

The hype is real! I've been seeing this place on my fyp on social media and I knew I had to try it! First off, don't be alarmed when you pull up to a mechanic shop on the side of the road. Although in a weird spot, I promise the food is worth it! I personally have never had this type of Mexican food before. I'm used to chimichangas, enchiladas, street tacos so I was really out of my comfort zone here. But, I'm so glad it gave it a try because it was delicious! My friends & I came here for lunch and it was pretty busy. The line to order was out the door! I already knew I wanted Da OG Tostada with the infamous blue crab dip and shrimp ceviche. It was soooo refreshing & citrusy! The ceviche and well with the crab dip. The tostada was super crunchy despite all the juices from the dip and ceviche. My friends ordered the Kiawe Smoked Marlin tacos and the Ahi Tostada. They said they were delicious as well. The marlin was smoked and deep fried. The ahi was super fresh and the portions were generous! Lastly, we got chips and salsa and chips and guacamole. The salsa was on the saucier side (not chunky) and had a little bit of a kick to it. The guacamole was so good! You could taste the onions they added in it. The chips though. Omg. They were super crispy and perfect for dipping. Overall, although this was my first time, my friends said everything they've tried has been phenomenal! I'll have to come back to try more!

After seeing Da Seafood Cartel all over my social media feed, my family took the plunge -- and honestly? It was a mixed bag worthy of a full report. We went big with the Family Pack (Blue Crab Tobiko Spread, Shrimp Ceviche, and tostadas) and threw in some extra tacos for good measure. The steak tacos were the undisputed MVP of the night -- perfectly grilled and genuinely delicious. The fish tacos were solid, respectable citizens of the taco world and the serving was big enough to make two tacos from one serving. Now, the Blue Crab Tobiko Spread tasted really fishy, so fishy that I had to tap out. Maybe it was an off night, but I couldn't power through it. The Shrimp Ceviche was a crowd-pleaser for the rest of the family, though it wasn't my personal vibe. Here's where things get spicy -- and not in the fun way. We got hit with a $21 convenience fee for ordering online that appeared AFTER we'd already tipped. No heads-up, no warning label, nothing. For a family just trying to enjoy some seafood, that's a gut punch. Had we known, we would have ordered differently.

Finally tried this place after everyone I know recommended it to me. Located in Aiea at what seems like a gas station pit stop, is actually the best Mexican food spot on island. I highly recommend ordering the blue crab dip, shrimp ceviche (with tostada shells) and any of their tacos from the steak and shrimp taco Cabo to their fried fish tacos. The seafood is fresh and every bite, from the salsa to the tortilla, is bursting with flavor. Seating and a few parking stalls are available outside. Ordering is pretty quick and convenient. You can order in-person or order takeout online, but I would suggest going in person to check if they have any specials including churros with coconut ice cream.

Delicious Mexican seafood place! Located in an old gas station, who would have thought such amazing food would be possible? You order in the restaurant, and then you can sit at the tables and chairs outside. If you're dining there, then they will give you a number and bring the food out to you. The food came out pretty quickly, except for my tostada de atun. But it was totally worth the wait! The fish is fresh, and the flavors of the lime with the rest of the ingredients blend so well together. The chips are made fresh, and the salsa was delicious! The steak quesadilla was very good, and my twin boys devoured it. I got a taste of my husband's crispy fish taco, and again, you can tell the fish is fresh and fried to perfection. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our quick-service meal and will be back again! Happy Eating!

While visiting the island we came across this spot , pleasantly surprised by the variety on the menu i came with a group of 6 of us we got a variety of things on menu and not one of us had not one complaint. Cashier was patient and friendly. Wait times were appropriate. Plenty of seating both inside and outdoors. All and all a good experience with amazing food.

Parking and seating is very limited, so be prepared. The food and service is amazing! This place is a well oiled machine. The demographic of patrons is a mix of young, old, all ethnicities - which is a great sign! Pro tip - the oysters or clams on the half shell take a long time to plate and get to you, so order something to munch on while you wait or you'll be sitting at your table watching everyone else eat.

This place gets slammed! Came here with a girlfriend on a Monday night and it was packed. Service is really quick though and there is a decent amount of seating. We got da OG tostada, shrimp taco and steak taco. Everything was fresh and tasty. Couldn't really taste the blue crab tobiko spread on the tostada but next time I go, I'll get the takeout pack to try it on its own. The ceviche was amazing. Prices are what you would expect for seafood and Hawaii. The reggaeton made the atmosphere fun. Parking is tight at the restaurant but we found extra parking at the Dixie Grill, up the ramp.

Here we goo. Car repairs and ceviche. Only in Aiea, Hawaii. Did an on-line order and it was ready at the said time. Super friendly staff. Parking, umm. There is parking but watch out reversing out to Kam Hwy.. Ordered the Blue crab tobiko spread, 32oz sonoran style ceviche, with homemade tostadas and guacamole. Without saying much, all of it was good. Support local.

    Marlin Quesadilla

My wife was telling me about this place and we couldn't wait to try their ceviche tostada with blue crab spread! We got to the place and it looked like a gas station. It's unique and feels like something out of San Diego or something. It was a cool vibe. I felt like I was back in Cali with the Mexican music in the background. There are tables outside but they get taken quick so try and grab one when you can. I ordered their chicharron de pescado, marlin quesadilla, and a tub of ceviche with blue crab spread and a pack of tostadas. This all came to about $100. The chicharron pescado was pretty decent. The mahi mahi fish bites were tender but tasted a bit like regular fish sticks from elementary. I also wasn't a big fan of their marlin quesadilla either. The marlin meat was way too smoked and blackened for my taste. It's bold and peppery and didn't pair well with the cheese or tortilla. I wish it wasn't so strong tasting. The meat was pretty dry too. My wife and I, did enjoy the ceviche tostadas though. This was tasty and fresh. The blue crab spread makes this and without it, the whole thing would just be too plain tasting. The food is whatever to me honestly, but I'd come back for the tostadas. I do want to also try their ahi tuna tostada and fish tacos! I think these would be better choices.

very delicious! their signature black sauce on the tables is really good too. i would probably skip the blue crab spread it was too much mayo! ceviche was fresh but the shrimp wasn't cleaned out good. for how expensive it was i'd expect it to be deveined and cleaned thoroughly. girl at the cash register also watched me and paused what she was doing just to see if i was going to put a tip in and then resumed once i finished which threw me off. the seating area is not good at all. it's outdoors next to a car mechanic shop. not comfortable at all.

    Da OG Tostada
    Brooke Y.

A hidden gem of a restuarant. Anytime I'm in Aiea I have to stop and grab "Da OG Tostada". The flavors are incredible and everything tastes so fresh. The tostada is crispy and I love the blue crab tobiko spread aired with the ceviche. I aways order the shrimp and fish mixture for variety. It's very filling and leaves you satisfied. The quality is always consistent and the staff is very friendly. There isn't a whole lot of places to sit when they are busy and it's right off the highway. Be careful not to park in the giant lot near by because I've seen tow trucks circling the area. They have a small parking area directly in front of the shop.

Said that we could sit at any open table. First time there, she gave us time to look over the menu. Good selection, one is ground beef which one of my dinning companion likes. Chips and salsa right off the back. Mmmmm. 1) Cheese Burrito plate. Very good. 2) Taquitos plate. Crunchy, not over cooked. 3) Tamale / taco combo plate. I loved that the taco didn't crack in half when I bite into it like some other taco places. 4) Ground beef chimichanga. All plates comes with Spanish rice and refried beans. Pros: Nice portions that would fill you up. Food came hot and fresh. Con: Maybe it might have been me but, I would have like more chip and salsa. There was only one server, so service was slow or maybe it was the kitchen. Not sure. I hate these 3% charge card when paying for your food. Would I go back? Maybe. We're also not people who only enjoy fancy restaurants--we're just as happy grabbing musubi from 7-Eleven or pork hash from the Manapua Man. Good food is good food, regardless of where it's from. We placed an online order for pickup, and the first item we opened was the carne asada plate. Right away, everything looked very dry. The meat was tough and chewy, and the rice was clumpy and dry, almost as if it had been sitting out for a while. It wasn't a great first impression. The biggest disappointment, though, was the tres leches cake. We love tres leches and order it whenever we get the chance, whether it's from a restaurant, farmers market, or a local home baker. We ordered two slices. After one bite of the first slice, it had a distinctly sour taste that reminded us of spoiled milk, so we stopped eating it immediately. Before trying the second slice, we smelled it first, and it had the same spoiled milk smell. To make sure we weren't imagining it, we brought both slices to family members, and everyone agreed that they smelled like spoiled milk. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable eating the rest of our order. Although the horchata tasted fine, we ended up throwing everything away because we had lost confidence after the dessert experience. I can only speak on our experience, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing one. I understand that not every meal will be perfect, but serving a dessert that smelled and tasted spoiled was concerning. Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but based on our visit, we won't be returning.
