Solid friendly service! Dined in but was given take away containers and plastic utensils...a little weird but okay. The food came out and looked good! I ordered the laulau and bbq chicken. Overall for the price a solid option. The laulau was not dry and had a decent amount of meat and fat. Solid. The chicken was seasoned well and cooked over a flame as it had a nice char to it. Would def come back if I was in the area! The only downside is the parking is terrible and crowded.

First time here on 4-28-26, found it on Yelp as we were at Pearl ridge. It's right across the street on the ground level at Westridge. They have an extensive catering menu with 1-2 week notices. Food available here are poke nachos, Mexican, local and Hawaiian. Hubs got the beef stew combo with rice, chicken, lomi salmon and haupia. My Local Girl with ribs also came with ribs, rice, Mac salad and Kalua pork. Menu said two pieces of pulehu ribs but came as cut up pieces of beef on bone about 1& 2 inch pieces mostly bone. Heavily seasoned with Hawaiian salt and sweet. In my mind it was going to be like bbq ribs/ 2 long pieces of bone. Kehau brought out utensils, pitcher of water, took the order, brought it out and was also the cashier- hard working wahine(lady.) Kind of like a hole in the wall vibe, small enough for one person to work the front. Smart they serve the food on and in take out containers. You can ask for a plastic bag to take home your leftovers. Hubs and I both took home our stew and Kalua pork barely touched - easy heat up dinner tonight. I just need a head of cabbage and a sweet Maui onion.
Tried Kehau's Kitchen and really liked it. The place has a chill local feel and everyone there was super friendly. It felt more like a neighborhood spot than a touristy restaurant, which I appreciated. We had the poke nachos, ribs, and laulau. The poke nachos were really good and probably my favorite thing we ordered. Fresh poke with crispy chips and a good mix of flavors. The ribs were tender and flavorful, and the laulau tasted homemade and comforting. Portions were solid too. Service was great the whole time. Staff was welcoming, food came out fast, and overall it was just a good experience. Would definitely come back next time I'm in Honolulu.
Pua'a (half spicy ahi and half kalua) was delicious and portion was definitely massive. I would definitely recommend. Pastele stew combo: came with rice, lomi salmon, grilled chicken, a container of pastele stew. Again their portion are pretty good. When I came, they did not have the Mexican food except tacos à la carte. A bit disappointed at first but turn out pretty good. I would definitely come back for the nachos even though it was a bit pricey, the portion and the taste made it totally worth it.
Probably the best Poke Ive had so far in Hawaii. Service was very warm and welcoming, got the cool small town vibes. For the duration of meal, they were full from people dining in. We had the poke nachos, poke bowl, sliders, lau lau pork, grilled meat and a short ribs! Poke was FRESH, and the rest were prefectly seasoned. Love this place. There is a reason why locals love this place!
Mixed bag at this restaurant. My real rating would be 3.5 stars if we could give half stars. I had tried calling before we came in to be sure they were open but no answer. Took a chance any way. Server greets everyone who comes in. Too much work for only one server, hard to get taken care of. More than half the tables were full even before 5pm on a Saturday, and there's a steady take out business, too. Looked at the online menu since the server didn't bring us a menu and we were waiting, but it doesn't list the squid luau combo so we had to wait for the server to take our order. She did take care of us before the walk ins that were ordering take out, and we appreciated that. However, turned out squid luau combo wasn't listed online because they were out. Boo. So hubby and I ordered the laulau combo consisting of a nice sized laulau that was tasty, with a nice ratio of pork to leaves, very large scoop of rice, some lomi salmon that was mostly onions that were quite strong and bitter and almost no salmon, pulehu chicken, which was tasty and had a nice char, and haupia, which was good. So food was fifty/fifty. Hubby ordered a coke, which was bottled Mexican (means real cane sugar) which was yummy. They serve Mexican food so I guess they have other Mexican sodas, but I didn't bother to check the menu. We had to ask for water three times because the server was so busy. We had a lot left over since the portions are big. Not sure if we will be back, though. While the server was nice and trying hard to take care of everyone, having to wait to order (another family even came up to ask is they could order after waiting for awhile) and then having to ask for water three times is a turn off for us. Also - no squid luau where's Hawaiian food is served was a major let down for me.
I wish I could give zero stars. So many things went wrong that I can't just sum it up to a "bad night". Pros - rice was cooked well -Squid lū'au was flavorful. Best option out of everything -chicken had good flavor but... Cons- -first thing I noticed was how SMALL and sad the pulehu chicken looked. I questioned why this plate was $25. Like I said, it was flavorful but not justifiable. -Overly salty kalua pig... like unnecessarily salty. Did not finish it and dumped it into my bf's plate since he'll eat anything. -we paid extra for poi & they did NOT include it. I know, I know I always tell him check the order, but sometimes you assume businesses know what they're doing. (We live far so by the time he got home with the food they were closed.) -Lastly, and this one hurts the most because I LOVE chicken long rice; soupy, "dry" style, I'm down.. but this was the WORST chicken long rice I've ever eaten. It had ZERO flavor... how do you even do that? Like the long rice was boiled in plain water and then added straight to the container. I added the chili peppa water to it to make it somewhat palatable because this business is out here wasting peoples money. Did not finish and gave it all to my bf who said, "this is terrible pancit." Overall it's overpriced, some dishes are overly salty, some dishes have ZERO flavor, and they did not include everything we paid for. Wanted to like this place, but this place is not cheap or worth it.
What a fantastic little hole in the wall! The kalua pork sliders were delicious. The small poke bowl was super fresh! Both of these dishes came with a side of rice. The sliders also came with some fantastic mac salad. The prices were GREAT for the portion sizes and freshness of the food! I want to try their poke nachos next time I'm in town.
A cute little hole in the wall in Aiea. This was our final stop before heading back to Cali. Knowing how homesick we were gonna be we decided to get some local grinds as our last meal. It's a small place with a few tables inside. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately. You can tell it's definitely a family establishment and I thought that was super cute. As Hawai'i changes more and more each year, me and my husband try to make it a point to support local business whenever we return. First off, let me just say that they don't play around here. The portions were MASSIVE! We ordered the lau lau combo, shoyu chicken and smoked meat as a side order. I am pretty sure I got more than 8 oz of smoked meat. I think what is unique about this place is how they serve their shoyu chicken. It's three generously sized filets that are boneless and skinless and drenched in a thick sauce. As a sauce girl, I wholeheartedly approve. There is always never enough sauce for me and this was a pleasant surprise. The smoked meat was so tasty and I was super sad I couldn't take it with me on the plane. My husband devoured his laulau and mentioned how creamy the haupia was. Overall, a solid plate lunch place with great food and generous portions. All the food is served in takeout containers which is honestly pretty convenient since I always end up taking home food anyways. The poke nachos looked pretty bomb so I can't wait to dine here again when I return to the islands!
Ok, so if you're looking for great ambiance but if you're looking for good food that you will find locals eating at, this is the place!! The food was flavorful and so enjoyable. It made me happy. They didn't have any of their Mexican dishes available so we got the Hawaiian menu items. We ordered kamakaze poke nachos (the star!), the local boy with checked and ribs and the local girl (both chicken and ribs were delish), and the beef teriyaki (also yummy) and the beef stew combo (not my fave though).
Had the best meal here. Prices are very reasonable. The poke is HUGE! There is one lb of poke on top of the nachos. The shoyu flavor was my favorite. The BBQ chicken was so juicy and had a really great flavor. The service was the best! He was on it. So nice and helping every table. He was amazing. HAPPY POKEING!!
For our large group dinner, we met at KK. At first, Mexican and Hawaiian food seems somewhat confusing, but it works as the husband is Hawaiian and the wife is Mexican. More importantly, there's selection for everyone. Foods that I tried were the Ahi Poke Nachos. Not only was the portion huge, but the fish tasted super fresh. On the wall, there is a photo of the owner at the fish market which explains the freshness of the fish. Speaking of huge, a big guy in our party ordered a burrito and wasn't able to finish it so he took the leftovers home. Additionally, we had a Kalua pork plate which included rice, lomi lomi, and haupia which was very good. If you need to use the restroom, you need to ask for a key as the restroom is a few doors down. Accommodating a large group is not their strength. Not only was it cramped, but we had to sit at separate tables. Regardless, I would definitely dine here again.

You gotta try Kehau's Kitchen We ordered the pua'a to da poke nachos with kamikaze poke and WOW, they did not disappoint. The wonton chips were not greasy and had the perfect crisp, the kalua pork was so juicy, and the ahi poke was so fresh! Auntie Gloria makes a mean haupia -- do NOT skip out on this! She told us that all the recipes are her own and that she puts love and aloha in all the food, and you can for real taste it and feel it from her in the restaurant. Pro tip: add chili pepper water to the kalua pork! Perfect balance of garlic, vinegar, and hint of spice. We even saw another customer come in to just buy 32 oz of chili peppa water Can't wait to try more! read more

SO YUMMY! My friends and I came in around 6:30 for dinner and it was pretty busy. Luckily, there was an available table for us. There seems to be only one aunty running the front so if you wait for aunty to take your order, you might be waiting a while. However, there is a QR code on each table which you can use to order if aunty is too busy to come around to take orders. We ordered the pua'a to da poke nachos (nachos with kamakaze ahi and kalua pork), the smoked meat, and the pastele stew. There was so much food in the containers! The nachos were SO YUMMY! The fish was so fresh and the kalua pork was so smoky and the fried wonton chips were flaky and crispy. We devoured the nachos and as soon as it was gone, I wished it was back in front of me. There is chili pepper water along with shoyu on each of the tables. I didn't try it, but my friend said the chili pepper water with the smoked meat was the perfect bite with the rice. If you get a combo plate, you get to choose sides. We got choose a side for the smoked meat and chose the potato salad instead of the haupia. It was a mistake. I still wanted haupia, so we ordered it on the side and it was so yummy! Aunty Gloria says she makes it with real coconut, and you can tell. It was the perfect way to end a great meal. read more

I came here as a second option because the place I originally wanted to go to was closed for no reason without warning. This little casual spot was inviting and we got seated right away. I came with one other person and we ended up sharing their #4, the Squid Luau combo. I didn't like that it came with chicken so I asked the nice waitress to swap it out for pork. She said they don't do customized but she can do 4 oz of kalua instead. I also asked for poi but she said they didn't have any. Our meal came with a generous side of squid luau, 4 oz of pork, rice, lomi salmon, and haupia. Everything was really good. The squid luau had tons of flavor and lots of squid in it. It was great with their rice that was cooked perfectly. The lomi was also good and the pork was tender and full of flavor. The haupia was a nice ending to our meal. One combo definitely filled both of us up. The total was very affordable. The inside of this place is small and it was pretty busy that day. Although there was no wait it was packed. Everything came out quick and in to go containers. Besides combo meals they are also known for their pulled pork nachos which I would gladly try next time. BUt they also have plenty of other options on the menu. This was definitely a great hold in the wall casual spot to check out if you are looking for some comforting Hawaiian food in the area. read more

Haven't been here in a long time. It was time to give it another go. I didn't realize they got Mexican menu. So I got cheese quesadilla plate for my son. And we got the pastele stew nachos . It was delicious! Definitely will order that. I got the squid luau combo and it was really good and creamy. The squid was super soft. My husband got the laulau plate with Kailua pig and beef stew . As a super combo. We kinda waited for our food like 15 min so definitely came out good. Just a nice lady that took our order and she was the only one serving. Will try come back again for other things . read more

OMG! The best poke nachos in Aiea! The Surf & Turf Nachos, which is Nachos with Kamikaze Poke & Kalua was sooo good! We also enjoyed the Lau lau Combo, while my daughter liked her Chicken Quesadilla. Friendly service and simple interior. Seats and tables can be arranged to accommodate large groups. It's a popular spot so be ready if it's crowded. Amazing hole in the wall spot with huge portions and solid kalua pork and Hawaiian style BBQ plate. My husband and I came here after snorkeling and wow did this place hit! The customer service was phenomenal and the food was delicious. We came to Hawaii in search of the perfect Hawaiian bbq plate and we found it here. I wanted to try the poke nachos with kalua pork and they did not skimp on the toppings. Their spice rub for everything was delicious and the owner let us sub out from the combo plate since we weren't a fan of lomi lomi. Definitely coming back. read more

Updating my review to five stars. I stopped by today for the first time. A young gentleman greeted me and handed me the menu. I ordered an à la carte of the shoyu chicken. The order consisted of 3 pieces of boneless chicken thighs and lots of sauce on the bottom. I hadn't eaten shoyu chicken in quite awhile and must say this one hit the spot. Tasted just right! Real homemade. Customer service won me over. This young man was on-point in every way; not only in serving the customers, but I got the impression how much he took pride in his job. He hardly stood still. Great and relaxing ambience. I was hoping to see the business owner. I'd return again. read more

Stumbled upon a tiktok video of the poke nachos and they did NOT disappointment. Also, tried the chorizo tostada and it was delicious (just a little greasy but the flavor was there). This is the closest we could find after our Pearl Harbor visit. Of course we always check yelp ratings and reviews. We have been craving Hawaiian bbq so this was a unanimous choice. It took us so long to decide on what to get; for some reason the menu didn't help with this task. It didn't make the food appetizing whether it's the description or pictures. Food was delicious. This place is good. I like getting the poke nachos from here. The best and they give you your money's worth of poke. The guy helping me and my boyfriend out was nice and accommodating. They also sell Mexican food here which is a must try. It's a small restaurant so be prepared for a wait on the weekends. If you go on a weekday it isn't so busy. I definitely like when it's not so busy. The food is good here and there's plenty of parking up front when it's not busy. read more

Our first real meal in Hawaii and I'll be craving it for the rest of my life. Small local place with great service and even better food. We had the poke, poke nachos, and Hawaiian chicken and they were all delicious. Can't recommend enough. read more

Look at this big beautiful thing, that is the poke nachos! WOW!!!!!! It's huge. So keep that in mind when you're wanting to have a snack. Because it could easily feed 2 people (or one person a couple of times). The won ton chips taste homemade, not store bought, which is sooooo good. Mouth watering, just thinking of ordering this again. We ended up doing take out, because the place looked a bit crowded (it is really small). It was still fresh and crunchy (chips) when we got home.
