First time here on 4-28-26, found it on Yelp as we were at Pearl ridge. It's right across the street on the ground level at Westridge. They have an extensive catering menu with 1-2 week notices. Food available here are poke nachos, Mexican, local and Hawaiian. Hubs got the beef stew combo with rice, chicken, lomi salmon and haupia. My Local Girl with ribs also came with ribs, rice, Mac salad and Kalua pork. Menu said two pieces of pulehu ribs but came as cut up pieces of beef on bone about 1& 2 inch pieces mostly bone. Heavily seasoned with Hawaiian salt and sweet. In my mind it was going to be like bbq ribs/ 2 long pieces of bone. Kehau brought out utensils, pitcher of water, took the order, brought it out and was also the cashier- hard working wahine(lady.) Kind of like a hole in the wall vibe, small enough for one person to work the front. Smart they serve the food on and in take out containers. You can ask for a plastic bag to take home your leftovers. Hubs and I both took home our stew and Kalua pork barely touched - easy heat up dinner tonight. A cute little hole in the wall in Aiea. This was our final stop before heading back to Cali. Knowing how homesick we were gonna be we decided to get some local grinds as our last meal. It's a small place with a few tables inside. Upon entering, we were greeted immediately. You can tell it's definitely a family establishment and I thought that was super cute. As Hawai'i changes more and more each year, me and my husband try to make it a point to support local business whenever we return. First off, let me just say that they don't play around here. The portions were MASSIVE! We ordered the lau lau combo, shoyu chicken and smoked meat as a side order. I am pretty sure I got more than 8 oz of smoked meat. I think what is unique about this place is how they serve their shoyu chicken. It's three generously sized filets that are boneless and skinless and drenched in a thick sauce. As a sauce girl, I wholeheartedly approve. There is always never enough sauce for me and this was a pleasant surprise. The smoked meat was so tasty and I was super sad I couldn't take it with me on the plane. My husband devoured his laulau and mentioned how creamy the haupia was. Overall, a solid plate lunch place with great food and generous portions. All the food is served in takeout containers which is honestly pretty convenient since I always end up taking home food anyways. Haven't been here in a long time. It was time to give it another go. I didn't realize they got Mexican menu. So I got cheese quesadilla plate for my son. And we got the pastele stew nachos . I came here as a second option because the place I originally wanted to go to was closed for no reason without warning. This little casual spot was inviting and we got seated right away. I came with one other person and we ended up sharing their #4, the Squid Luau combo. I didn't like that it came with chicken so I asked the nice waitress to swap it out for pork. She said they don't do customized but she can do 4 oz of kalua instead. I also asked for poi but she said they didn't have any. Our meal came with a generous side of squid luau, 4 oz of pork, rice, lomi salmon, and haupia. Everything was really good. The squid luau had tons of flavor and lots of squid in it. It was great with their rice that was cooked perfectly. The lomi was also good and the pork was tender and full of flavor. The haupia was a nice ending to our meal. One combo definitely filled both of us up. The total was very affordable. The inside of this place is small and it was pretty busy that day. Although there was no wait it was packed. It's been a while since I've been to Kehau's kitchen. A lot of things on the menu have changed. It offers an array of both Hawaiian and Mexican food. The menu is pretty split and the prices correlate with what you're paying for. We chose to get the lau lau plate with the pulehu chicken and a side order of squid Luau. The lau lau was a bit small but the meat was moist, not a lot of Luau leaf (bummer because that's my favorite part ). The chicken was a little bit undercooked towards the middle and a little too charred for my liking. Lomi salmon did not have salmon inside and it was too small a portion to compliment the whole plate. As for the squid luau, it was really a bright green and very liquidy. Look at this big beautiful thing, that is the poke nachos! WOW!!!!!! It's huge. So keep that in mind when you're wanting to have a snack. Because it could easily feed 2 people (or one person a couple of times). The won ton chips taste homemade, not store bought, which is sooooo good. This place is good. I like getting the poke nachos from here. The best and they give you your money's worth of poke. The guy helping me and my boyfriend out was nice and accommodating. They also sell Mexican food here which is a must try. It's a small restaurant so be prepared for a wait on the weekends. If you go on a weekday it isn't so busy. Extremely slow service full of issues. Came in, wasn't very busy inside but the person in charge of taking orders and packing to go orders was overwhelmed enough to suspend taking orders for over 15 minutes. In the time that my order was finally placed (after 15 min of waiting) and received (another 20 minutes later, for poke entrees aka requiring no cooking), the poor woman who ordered before me still hadn't received her chicken quesadilla. The issues with today's service were not completely on the woman at the front, as she had to go back to the kitchen to continuously ask for things to be ready, but the cherry on top was parts of my order being incorrect. At that point, I resigned myself to not finishing my food and going somewhere else capable of delivering on what they promise. While in the area, I found this place. What got my attention was the feel of local and not tourist. The place was very clean and the service was very friendly. She gave her recommendations on some of the items they're known for. We went with their spicy ahi poke bowl and pork nachos. The ahi was good but seemed to be missing something. The rice, it came with, was very tasty. As for the nachos, I'm a bit mixed on this one. The chips were not your typical corn tortilla chips, the cheese and sauce was good but the pork just didn't seem to go with it. 11/15/25 Got here for an early dinner, about 5ish and the place was empty so we had our pick of what table to sit at. We were greeted by a nice young man who brought us the menu and water right away. It had been a long time since I'd been here and my friend and I were hankering for some Hawaiian food. We each selected the same thing, the pork laulau combo - pork laulau, lomilomi salmon, haupia, and pulehu chicken for $25.95. The plate also comes with rice, which we did not want & opted for the poi for an additional $5.95. When my friend told the waiter she didn't want the rice, to leave it off, he told her, well it comes with it anyway. She didn't want to argue with him so she said ok. Which is weird because why give the customer something they do not want on the plate?!? It was a short wait and when the waiter brought our food, it was already in a take-out box. When I opened the plate, everything was wrapped or in containers except for the rice. The laulau was wrapped in foil, which is expected and also the pulehu chicken was wrapped in foil. Haupia and lomilomi salmon was each in small containers. A nice surprise was the poi. I expected a small container like other Hawaiian food places do, but we were give a bigger container that had at least 1/2 cup+ of poi. It got kinda messy trying to undo the foil from the entrees, especially the laulau because after you peel off the foil, then there's the ti leaf. The laulau tasted ok, not too much fatty pieces but not dry. I was disappointed at how small the portion was though. For the price of the plate, I would have expected a little bigger laulau. The pulehu chicken had some good flavor. I've never had plulehu chicken & it was ono, lots of flavor with a little bit of kick. They give you 1 piece of boneless/skinless thigh, about 3-4 oz. The lomilomi salmon was good even though these days everybody chops it up in minced sized pieces. Haupia was thick and creamy. For the rice we ended up taking home, it was a huge scoop, like 2 cups of rice. The poi was nice and sour, like how I like it. Usually when I get poi at restaurants, they give you fresh poi. When we were done, the waiter brought the bill and we asked if we could split the check. When he brought the new check, we noticed it was a cashless payment and there was nothing for us to sign nor to leave a tip? So we ended up leaving a cash tip. Overall, the food was ok, just wished we had more on the plate since it was a pretty pricey plate. The restaurant is clean and the service was good, friendly wait staff. read more

We decided to get some Mexican food, we tried the local food there and wanted to try their Mexican food. I ordered the burritos plate which was pretty big and came with Spanish rice and black beans. The burrito was tasty with kalua pork meat and the sauce was tasty and spicy. The Spanish rice was okay it lack the taste and wasn't moist but more on the dry side. The black beans were good. My wife cheese quesadilla was on the okay which was a good size portion. Service was great and friendly! Parking lot is a good size but gets crowded during lunch time as some cars were blocking other cars while they went into grab items from 7 11.
