If you're looking for a solid birthday dinner spot, Ruth's Chris in Honolulu never misses. They really know how to make the birthday person feel special -- complimentary champagne and a strawberry flambé to celebrate. Small touches like that go a long way. Service? On point. Shoutout to Dave (David) who absolutely nailed it. You can always tell when you've got a pro -- water glasses never empty, plates cleared without you even noticing, checking in at the right times without hovering. That's next-level hospitality. Food is consistently solid. Of course the steaks are amazing but if you're not in the steak mood, the scallops and sea bass are legit options. And that lobster mac & cheese side dish? Massive. Parking validated and free. Pro tip: They run a prix fixe menu from 4-6pm that can save you some money if you time it right. Overall -- dependable, classy, and perfect for a birthday dinner when you want to keep it special without guessing if the food will hit.

Winter menu tenderloin and jumbo lobster tail

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Ruth's Chris Steak House, and the experience was truly special from start to finish. When I made the reservation, I noted that we were celebrating our anniversary, and the restaurant went above and beyond to acknowledge it. Upon arrival, we were led to a table beautifully adorned with rose petals, and every staff member who passed by took a moment to wish us a happy anniversary. Shortly after being seated, we were also treated to two complimentary glasses of champagne, which set a perfectly celebratory tone for the evening. The winter menu was outstanding. I ordered the tenderloin with a jumbo lobster tail, both cooked to perfection. My husband was very happy with his New York strip, and we also shared an entrée of scallops--because we never pass up the opportunity to enjoy fantastic scallops, and these did not disappoint. Although we were far too full for dessert, the team surprised us with flaming strawberries, served with dark chocolate and raspberry sauce, to help us celebrate--an unforgettable and thoughtful finish. Overall, the service, food, and attention to detail were exceptional. My only suggestion would be to slightly increase the music volume in the dining room. While the restroom music was quite loud, it was barely noticeable in the dining area, and a bit more ambiance would have helped drown out nearby conversations. It was a wonderful experience and a perfect place to celebrate such a meaningful milestone.

I swore off Ruth's Chris Steak House but here I am. Sadly, this time it wasn't much better than the last We started with crabmeat stuffed mushrooms. I didn't taste any crabmeat stuffing in the mushrooms... perhaps because the garlic in the stuffing was so overpowering I could not eat it. Instead I took out the stuffing and ate only the mushroom. For our entree he ordered a Ribeye and I had the 8 oz Petite Filet. His steak was good but a little over cooked even though he ordered a medium rare. I ordered a medium Petite Filet and it was under cooked... more like rare - medium rare. Maybe the kitchen mixed up our steak doneness.. I don't know but I did bring it up to the manager when he asked how our meal was going. Since we were celebrating a birthday they brought a complementary Strawberry flambé. Very nice touch and so nice to look at then it's flaming BUT they use so much alcohol that you cannot avoid it when eating the strawberries. Very strong liquor flavor so it's hard to eat if you are not a drinker. Service was okay. Also, even though I was not happy with previous visits, I consider Ruth's Chris a better restaurant... perhaps if you served your food on a cleaner plate it will give a little classier feel rather than on the same level as Zippy's. In a nutshell.. I will not return. For real this time.

We planned our wedding reception dinner for the past year. Traci was incredible to work with for the planning process. We treated our guests to the Premiere dinner for 20 people. The private room was cozy and great for large gatherings. We had our appetizers and sides served family style. The shrimp cocktail was amazing and the shrimp were large and cook perfectly! We also had a choice of steakhouse salad or Caesar salad. The crab stuffed mushrooms were tasty and delicious! The sides were broccoli, asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes and all were wonderful. The steak was cooked perfectly with the sizzling feature which I didn't know it was what Ruth Chris is known for. I will definitely be trying the Las Vegas locations. Thank you Traci for a memorable experience!

Located at Waterfront Park with validate parking. Services are excellent and attentive. We had a company Christmas party at Ruth's Chris at the party room. The room was very roomy and spacious. Food: 1. Filet mignon & Shrimp 10/10 2. Filet mignon & Lobster 10/10 3. Ribeye Steak 10/10 I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Good food and great service.

We were invited to a business dinner and we were really impressed with the service, the quality of the food and the private dining area we wee seated. Everything about this location was amazing. Really enjoyed the time we spent and the atmosphere and food.

I go to Ruth's Chris pretty often--both in Waikiki and Downtown--and the servers are always friendly and attentive, which makes every visit pleasant. That said, the steak can be a real gamble. Sometimes it's absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavor, but other times it's just disappointing. The inconsistency is a bit frustrating, especially for a place with such a reputation. If you hit it right, it's amazing; if not, it feels like a waste. Still, the service keeps me coming back, and the locations are convenient for both touristy Waikiki and downtown outings.

My friend and I dined here last night to celebrate personal achievements and we really enjoyed our meal here! It's been a while since I had come to this steakhouse, but I'm not sure why we ever stopped! Our server Mel was amazing and friendly. She offered us complimentary champagne and a strawberry dessert dish to celebrate, which we really appreciated. We both had the pre fixe menu which comes with an appetizer, entree, side and dessert. We enjoyed our food! Steak was cooked great, lobster too. Salad was generous and sides were tasty. We learned that my friend is not a fan of creamed spinach (lol) but I enjoyed it. A little bit less creamy than other places which was preferred. Desserts were all amazing. I think this is something that might set Ruth's Chris apart from Morton's or Hy's. Both bread pudding and cheesecake were sooooo ono! We were too full so we didn't finish it, but believe me, I wanted to. Overall, so satisfied with my experience at Ruth's Chris! They generously gave a coupon for a free appetizer and will definitely bring my family back to use it. I think a lot of steakhouses have great food, but Ruth's Chris service (and desserts) are top notch.

Today 8/24/25 my daughter's 26th birthday. We decided to order takeout from Ruth's Chris steak house. We ordered 3 ribeye steaks , 3 potatoes au gratin, and 3 sweet potato casserole. We normally go in to eat , but my daughter wanted to order and stay in to relax and watch movies together . The co food was absolutely amazing . The steak was nice and tender . We always celebrate here or our favorite Italian restaurant. They gave extra bread and our bearnaise sauce as requested . Excellent customer service when we picked up or food to go. In my opinion this is the best steak on the island .

***Ruth's Chris Steak Honolulu*** Walking into Ruth's Chris Steak House felt like stepping back into an old, familiar memory. The moment I walked through the doors, everything I loved about this place came rushing back -- the same great food, the spotless dining room, and that unmistakable aroma of dishes cooked to absolute perfection drifting from table to table. Nick, our waiter, was sharp, attentive, and genuinely funny, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the evening. I also really appreciated Kevin's company -- great food paired with great people always makes for an unforgettable experience. All around, it was everything I hoped for and more. A perfect meal, a warm atmosphere, and a wonderful way to close out the New Year. Happy New Year Everyone Marie

Came here for a company party and everything was amazing. Friendly staff and a huge steak. My steak was cooked perfectly and was nice and juicy. I liked this place a lot better than Morton's Steakhouse. The private event room was perfect.

Best birthday dinner ever! I had such a wonderful time here with my family. My husband and son both had a wonderful time here too. The food, the service and atmosphere was amazing. I'm so glad that we got to dined in to celebrate my birthday one day before my actual birthday. Due to the weather condition. My husband did call ahead of time to see if they were still open for business and they were. I can't wait to go back and do happy hour next time!

We celebrated our Anniversary at our favorite Steakhouse "Ruth's Chris". Impeccable service from the front to the back. Tonight we sat in the main dining room which was quite nice. For appetizers we had the Mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat. Very tasty and light on the palette. We split a Chopped Salad and ordered the Stuffed Chicken Breast and the Cowboy Ribeye with a Loaded Baked Potato. They make an awesome Stuffed Chicken Breast, love that crispy skin! My Cowboy Ribeye was cooked to perfection. Medium rare and seasoned perfectly. For dessert we were treated to the Strawberry Flambé. We also ordered the Chefs Seasonal cake "Carrot Cake". A totally decadent cake very rich and flavorful. Good thing we ordered it Ala Mode. The vanilla ice cream was a perfect pairing for the cake.

The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully. They don't have any affiliation with any parking garages, you're on your own. The inside is surprisingly big and spacious with bar and outdoor seatings, and high ceilings in the main dining room. The main theme is Spanish Tapas with mostly small or bite size dishes with a few paella and main entrees. Everything sounded good! "Pinchos" dishes is really just one bite. The Smoked Salmon was nothing special. It ate like a normal salmon with cream cheese. The other flavors such as dill, pink peppercorn, and orange did not come out. The Buñuelos Butterfish Fritter were good. Light, airy, doughy! nicely fried and seasoned. Didn't really taste much butterfish. The Tapas were a generous amount! The Shrimp Ajillo was flavorful with paprika and garlic. Shrimp was cooked well. The spice didn't come out from the dried chili peppers. The best was the Housemade Baguette! Warm, soft inside, crunchy outside. Better than at Vietnamese restaurants! Unfortunately, the dish and sauce was too salty--even for a person who likes more taste. The Octopus Ala Gallega was very good. Nicely grilled octopus to tender with a nice charred taste. Just needed some salt. Potatoes were good. Chimichurri sauce was flavorful. Generous amount of olive oil. The Uni & Crab Pasta was all right. I've had better. The spaghetti was a touch too Al dente. The flavor was very one note with the rich cream sauce and uni. There wasn't the sweetness from the crab. The cherry tomato was just there to be there for a bite. Would have been nice to get some acidity and sweetness throughout the dish. The Seafood Paella was very basic. Very disappointed with zero char on the rice. What's the point of the pan? It definitely needed higher heat. Everything ate like it was covered and simmered on low heat until the seafood was cooked. Very simple. The Ube Basque Cheesecake was good. Not too sweet, not too much Ube flavor with a light custard-like interior. Overall, this was a decent meal. All the dishes were beautifully presented, but needed some seasoning adjustments. Don't think I'll order the same dishes next time. The service was excellent. Very friendly, information, and attentive server. Comfortable dining area. Unfortunate it has no parking affiliation. I'll definitely comeback for their Housemade Baguette!

It is open air- the night we went it did get a little chilly and I wasn't prepared. Service: The servers are all helpful with navigating the menu and providing suggestions. Food: This was my first time coming for dinner. The Moules Pommes Fritas which at first didn't seem like a lot but I barely was able to finish the dish. The krab and shrimp roll was pretty disappointing. Didn't catch that it was "krab" we like imitation crab mixed into things but it was just big chunks of the imitation crab with a few shrimp and some celery. We got lemon cheesecake for dessert that was... unlike any lemon cheesecake either of us have ever had. The crust was different but it was good. The filling was thick, had a very different texture, and didn't taste much like lemon. It wasn't necessarily bad but if you're expecting a lemon cheesecake that wasn't the usual kine. We even asked our server what was in it because it tasted so different / unique, he was a bit condescending and said it's like any lemon cheesecake with cream cheese filling.

Celebrated Mother's Day lunch at Appetito and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish…read more My daughter surprised me with lunch reservations because she knows how much I love Italian food, and it was the perfect spot for us to celebrate the afternoon together. We started with the portobello fries that were perfectly flash fried. The mushrooms were crispy on the outside, while tender on the inside, paired with the flavorful pesto aioli. We ordered the mushroom cheese risotto, which was creamy, rich, and full of earthy mushroom flavor. The homemade Bolognese with pappardelle was hearty with flavorful beef ragu over perfectly cooked pasta. My daughter also ordered the watermelon lime mojito mocktail that was light, refreshing, and perfect for a warm Waikiki afternoon. What made the experience even more memorable was the thoughtful complimentary tiramisu they gave for Mother's Day. This was such a sweet and unexpected touch that was appreciated and welcomed. The service throughout our meal was attentive, welcoming, and friendly. The restaurant has a cozy, casual, and inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating.
