We came on a short staffed day. Very cute open air set up. The server was wonderful! But, food came out painfully slow. I was the only one of the group who was truly happy with my meal. They didn't have an italian wine pairing. So, I got their signature old fashioned... it was delish!

Visited Mana + Pua for a birthday celebration for my birthday. Congenitally located on the second floor of SALT located in Kakaako. What stood out to me was the atmosphere, decorations, and the vibe of the place. It gave a great outdoor chill hangout mood with great food. I ended up having the Pappardelle Bolognese which was beautifully plated. It tasted great, I just wish I could have more! I wish the service was a little more attentive as we had to ask for water multiple times. When asked about deserts for my brother the server stated I think we have one scoop of tiramisu left Overall it was a nice evening, good food, and great vibe.

Dined here a few times and came for drinks. The outdoor atmosphere is beautiful and inviting but it gets a little hot during lunchtime since there's no AC you are at the mercy of tradewinds. They have a full bar, expect the 18$/cocktail range. We recently had the Caesar salad with seared ahi, smoked fish spread and Pappardelle Bolognese and crab and shrimp sandwich. I think my favorite was the Bolognese the pasta was perfectly cooked and flavor was delicious with a little kick. The service was excellent and I did appreciate that the server let us know that the crab in the crab and shrimp sandwich was imitation crab and not fresh. Great service, good food and great place to check out with friends or a date.

The world food tour duo stopped in at Mana + Pua on the second floor of SALT. It's a very open space, like a covered lanai. We arrived a little early and, being the first diners of the evening, had our choice of tables. We chose a table for two along the rail, nearest the bar. We were overlooking Vein and The Boiling Crab. We felt like cocktails instead of a bottle of wine. We wanted gin & tonics, but I didn't see our preferred gins. They had two Mexican gins from Condesa, so I asked for one made with the Condesa London Extra Dry ($20) and another with Tanqueray ($20). The Mexican gin was nice .... A new gin to add to my home bar. We started with the Duck Fat Frites ($14) and the Antipasti Kau Kau Board ($50). The fries were sprinkled with dill, which is kind of weird (to me, who doesn't like dill). The antipasti board was a work of art and was enough for four people. A large board was covered with five pieces of sourdough toast, a sweetish red pepper dip, slices of zucchini, wedges of gold and red beets, cherry tomatoes, green and black olives, prosciutto, salami, pieces of red onion and carrots, and wedges of kabocha with black skin. We boxed the leftovers and ordered our entrees. We ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese ($30), Mushroom Ricotta Ravioli ($30), and Fire-Kissed Brussels ($10). The ravioli and blistered cherry tomatoes sat in a portobello cream sauce ... It was fine but I wished for a bit more mushroom flavor. The pappardelle were excellent, if a bit spicy. There was a chili crunch which added zing to the dish. The brussels sprouts was fine; we thought balsamic would have added to the overall flavoring. The restaurant wasn't very busy and service was leisurely. We saw empty tables at many venues. My fellow foodie was at SALT the night before and she said every place was packed. I think Mana + Pua is fine but the format is more suited for those looking for drinks and small plates versus those of us looking for more entrée options. Rating: 4.

The food was outstanding! I have been eyeing out their Happy Hour Menu for quite some time because of Instagram so I kinda had high hopes and let me tell you they did not disappoint. The SKORCHED TAKO ($15) was my favorite, the outside had a little bit crunchy bits when bite into it while the meat inside was nice and tender. I loved the sauce, it had just the right amount of heat and kick to it that worked perfectly without overpowering it. The CAESAR SALAD ($8) was awesome! Just the right size, perfect to satisfy and enjoy while leaving you with enough room to try other bar bites on the menu. The service was outstanding! I knew that it wouldn't be a typical service and that at times I knew I would have to wait because there was a huge event going on at the same time but I wanted to eat here anyway (that's how good they were). The staff didn't an excellent job in explaining the dishes that I was contemplating trying.

Sunday Brunch in Kaka'ako, Honolulu, Hawai'i... My niece is open-minded about where to eat and let me select our next dining adventure. I told her that I've been to Mana + Pua in Haleiwa, but not Mana + Pua at SALT. Since metered street parking is free on Sundays, I suggested that we go to this new location. She agreed. Located on the upper level of SALT, Mana + Pua is across from Pitch Sports Bar. The restroom is downstairs, so plan accordingly and get the code for the door from the staff. Note that this is an outdoor dining spot with no air-conditioning. We saw a bird hopping around; a fly passing by; ceiling fans that weren't effective; and our empty water bottle. The water was room temperature anyway. Shucks. Service was alright. When I was asked how I wanted my egg done, I replied, "Hard boiled", and it threw our server off. She wasn't sure if it could be done. Eventually, my salad arrived with a sliced hard boiled egg... perfect! There was even a tiny, crunchy piece of egg shell... LOL! Very authentic! The croissant platter was beautiful! The croissants were on the heavy side. We enjoyed the chocolate ganache, strawberry jam, sea salt whipped butter, and fresh fruits that were included. The breeze blew the powdered sugar across the table... haha! My Anahulu Salad was wonderful with pesto, Arugula, tomato jam, croutons, and pecrino. I really appreciated the sliced hard boiled egg! The ambiance was a bit noisy with two groups of lively customers. The bar area looked lively with other small groups of customers. We just felt like we needed air-conditioning and iced water!

We came on a week night, didn't seem too busy and after waiting a couple minutes without any wait staff assisting/acknowledging us we decided to sit at the bar. The staff were nice once we were seated. The limoncello spritz was good, just what i expected. We got the tak'ako- a grilled squid leg, and it was pretty tough to cut through, but tasted good. Maybe just a bit overcooked? We got a few other apps that were alright. Overall it was nice to try, good atmosphere/decor but not sure if I'd come again.

    Travis N.

The poke wonton they offered was very tasty, and I wouldn't have minded sitting and ordering a plate, but it was very busy, and they seemed to only have a small staff. I checked their online menu, and it seemed that the wonton was a special for the event. Price range is on the higher end, but in line with Lani Sot and Vein, its two closest neighbors.

It's a really nice outdoor eating area on the second floor of SALT at our Kaka'ako. The food is really high quality - got to try a mix of the ravioli to the burger to the cheesecake. Everything was great for an evening with friends, and the mixed drinks were good as well. If you're in SALT and have a chance to go with some friends, would highly recommend - Miguel Morales Photography

Ok just happened on this great spot today, needed a place to watch the game. The owner was behind the bar and could not be nicer, what a doll. You can tell she has very high attention to detail and it shows in the decor, food and drinks. Great spot in a fun environment. Put it on your list !

Highly highly recommend! First time having a Katsu Ahi Sandwich. I would 100% come back for it. The breading was just light enough. The sauce was so good I could drink it lol. The pickles on the sandwich made it that much better. It also had the taro bread which was delicious. The spot is nice, very pretty. The staff were all extremely nice and so friendly. I ate alone and they made my experience better. They also let me try the candied pork belly. Also never have I had anything like it. It was perfect

I've never had any of their "real" food outside of the charcuterie, so that just gives me a reason to come back some time and try. The Gouda added this rich, slightly smoky creaminess that made it feel a little more elevated than your standard burger. Every bite was messy in the best way, and the bun held up like a champ. The fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and impossible to stop eating. You know they're good when you keep reaching for "just one more" and suddenly they're gone. We also got the fried calamari and it was perfectly golden and tender, not rubbery at all. Light, crispy coating and super snackable -- especially dipped in the sauce. But the sleeper hit? The smoked ahi with lavosh. So flavorful and fresh, with that smoky richness balanced by the crisp lavosh. It felt light but still packed with taste -- a perfect contrast to the heavier fried stuff. Honestly, everything hit. Great mix of indulgent and fresh, and I'd order this exact combo again without hesitation.

The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully. The standout for us was the empanadas -- flaky, crisp pastry filled with tender braised beef and potato, finished with a bold aji rojo sauce that added just the right amount of depth and gentle heat. They don't have any affiliation with any parking garages, you're on your own. The inside is surprisingly big and spacious with bar and outdoor seatings, and high ceilings in the main dining room. The main theme is Spanish Tapas with mostly small or bite size dishes with a few paella and main entrees. Everything sounded good! "Pinchos" dishes is really just one bite. The Smoked Salmon was nothing special. It ate like a normal salmon with cream cheese. The other flavors such as dill, pink peppercorn, and orange did not come out. The Buñuelos Butterfish Fritter were good. Light, airy, doughy! nicely fried and seasoned. Didn't really taste much butterfish. The Tapas were a generous amount! The Shrimp Ajillo was flavorful with paprika and garlic. Shrimp was cooked well. The spice didn't come out from the dried chili peppers. The best was the Housemade Baguette! Warm, soft inside, crunchy outside. Better than at Vietnamese restaurants! Unfortunately, the dish and sauce was too salty--even for a person who likes more taste. The Octopus Ala Gallega was very good. Nicely grilled octopus to tender with a nice charred taste. Just needed some salt. Potatoes were good. Chimichurri sauce was flavorful. Generous amount of olive oil. The Uni & Crab Pasta was all right. I've had better. The spaghetti was a touch too Al dente. The flavor was very one note with the rich cream sauce and uni. There wasn't the sweetness from the crab. The cherry tomato was just there to be there for a bite. Would have been nice to get some acidity and sweetness throughout the dish. The Seafood Paella was very basic. Very disappointed with zero char on the rice. What's the point of the pan? It definitely needed higher heat. Everything ate like it was covered and simmered on low heat until the seafood was cooked. Very simple. The Ube Basque Cheesecake was good. Not too sweet, not too much Ube flavor with a light custard-like interior. Overall, this was a decent meal. All the dishes were beautifully presented, but needed some seasoning adjustments. Don't think I'll order the same dishes next time. The service was excellent. Very friendly, information, and attentive server. Comfortable dining area. Unfortunate it has no parking affiliation. I'll definitely comeback for their Housemade Baguette!

It really sucks when you have to scream at your friends to talk story.
