My friends wanted to try this and it was fun on a Friday night. We started with the kimchee pancake which was thin and crispy. Very flavorful, I didn't need the dipping sauce. Next we shared the mandoo. This was a generous portion and each morsel was stuffed with delicious filling. Could have been a little more crispy but still, pretty good. The pork katsu was served next. This was super thin and crispy. They put a big serving of kastu sauce/gravy all over which kind of was on the sweeter side for my taste. First time coming here even though I've heard about it before! Came here with the fiancé and was both our first time. We had a little date night hehe and my goodness the food was so good!!! We ordered 3 items, rose tteokbokki, gizzard with garlic, and the jokbal (pig trotters). It was all so delicious!!! There so much more items I want to try on the menu. There was one girl that waited on us and she was nice. I believe 2 people cooking. There's 2 small karaoke room that can fit about 6 people and the inside has about 3-4 tables. An absolute favorite restaurant of my friend and mine! We have been going here almost weekly for the past couple months and order the same things. The rose tteokbokki is THE BEST! The sauce is creamy, the right amount of spice, with sausages, rice cakes, bacon, and wide glass noodles. We also like pairing this with the steamed mandoo and/or kimchi pancake. We've tried the chicken wings but didn't really like it - skin clinged to chicken and was difficult to eat. Service is great but takes around 40 minutes to receive our food, but we don't mind waiting. The vibe in here is lively with kpop/k-hip hop music videos playing loudly. There are also karaoke rooms that aren't very sound proof when sitting in the dinning area. Plenty of parking is available. Best way to find this gem is going down S King Street and turning left into the building lot called "Title Guaranty Escrow" or look for number 1350. read more

Went here for karaoke, will return of the food! I like that they have a small lot right in front of the location. It's such an inconspicuous looking place I wouldn't have noticed it was there if you didn't tell me about it! They have 2 rooms for karaoke and it's $2 a song. There is a decent amount of song selection as well. The junk thing is that the karaoke machine is owned by a separate entity to if you accidentally input a song twice it's too bad for you =( the rooms also have a $100 minimum food/drink order which we easily surpassed lol. The food was really good, all the dishes we tried tasted good! The eggs have some veggies chopped up in them and ketchup on top. Tried the Korean pancakes which were nice and crispy. Location: First Interstate Bank building - more towards Young Street corner of the building Parking: There were about nine free "Visitor" stalls. Some people parked on the street Environment: Our private room had a $100 minimum for food and drinks. Songs were $2 and quite limited to older songs. (The remote control had some Korean words, but we were able to scroll through the English song list and eventually used the book to find song titles more efficiently.) Outside in the lounge area, there was no karaoke - just a big screen television. Tables and chairs were separated into groups of four by barriers and could not be moved. Food: I didn't eat anything. My friends got mandoo, seafood pancake, pork cutlet, corn cheese, and seafood pancake. Everything looked good! Beverages: My friends ordered peach Soju and a red vinegar Soju. I just had a Coke... Karaoke shenanigans... Now who doesn't need a break from adulting from time to time and I'm down for some food, fun and frolicking with karaoke. This place certainly was the first for us and no we didn't reserve anything which is recommended if you are selective with room choice. They do have to similar room sizes but there's just two for karaoke. Equipment is an outside source so they can't help you if you have wrong song choices, the massive remote is mostly in Korean we did manage to figure it out...I got the smartest group I must say! We are smart indeed and hungry gosh loved the varieties of... - Fat Omelette (rolled egg with onions and topped with ketchup) - Seafood Pancake had squid I believe didn't have it due to allergies - Kimchee Pancake - Pork Cutlet (sauce topped tasted like a mix of curry and tonkatsu) - Edamame (coasted with way too much salt!) - Corn Cheese (check out my pic for that cheese pull!) - Mandoo "both fried and steamed" (my preference is steamed) Drinks I did pass this night as it didn't really wow me but friends ordered Peach Soju then later got Red Vinegar. Inside was pretty small with a few tables and 2 karaoke room. Very interesting and cute decor. Parking in the lot but gets full during peak hours. We parked on the street. We ordered a few stuff to share. - Army stew is a must. A spicy soup base with hot dog sausages, tofu, cheese, ramen, and beans boiled in a thin pan. The portion is good enough for two people. - Jokbal is pig trotter that's braised and cooked with soy sauce I believe. Meat was very soft and and fatty. Very tasty. - seasoned tripe was sliced very thin and seasoned well. - Apple mango soju - not really a drinker, but I did take a sip. Flavor on the sweeter side. My friends liked it. Cafe Princess Pig is a small place with about 4 or 5 tables and 2 karaoke rooms. It's nothing fancy, but it's definitely all you need to enjoy a few drinks and yummy Korean food. We got their at exactly 6pm (our reservation time) so we could chose our table. There were a lot of items on the menu that looked good and some were different then what I've seen at other places. We ordered the army stew (my favorite, even though I couldn't eat the noodles) and the mandoo. And we got the lychee bottled soju to share. The army stew was very tasty with green & round onions, tofu, sausage, spam, beans, and noodles. And the mandoo was good too. And it went well with our lychee soju which now might be my new favorite flavor. The workers were nice and were working hard doing all the cooking too. This place doesn't look like much from the outside and can be hard to miss when you're trying to find the place so be sure to keep your eyes open or you may miss it! read more

A cozy hole in the wall Korean restaurant/bar with tasty food. We were able to make a same day reservation which was fantastic because it is a small restaurant with a 5-6 tables. Started with soju and soju cocktails, and they didn't have as many options as other Korean bars but they did have my fav yogurt soju. As for food we got the buddae jiggae (army stew), seafood pancake, cheese corn, tteokbokki, and lunch box. Their food is bomb and there are some things that they offer that other places don't such as soon dae and dosirak and tonkatsu. Everything we ordered was good and nothing was disappointing We got soondae with veggies, ttekbokki, dosirak (squid game vibes!) corn cheese, fried mandoo, french fries, seafood pancake, budae jijae, and rice balls. my personal faves were the rice balls, budae jijgae, dosirak, soon dae and ttekboki! The food here is amazing! Super authentic Korean bar food at its finest. This bar is quaint but cozy and tucked away on south king st. I have been craving food that I would eat back at home (NYC) and a friend recommended that I give this place a try. I came here with my boyfriend fairly early (around 530-6pm on a Tuesday) so luckily, they were able to take us right in. We ordered the katsu, soondae, dakdoritang (spicy chicken & potato stew), and the lunch box! Everything was so good! The soondae is probably one of the best I've had on the island. The dakdoritang went perfect with our soju (great chaser) and the lunch box was absolutely needed. They have their own parking stalls available and on top of that, they have a couple of karaoke rooms that can be reserved (who wouldn't love to eat, sing, and drink at the same time?!) This place is a great spot if you want to karaoke, drink, or just grab some dinner. The food is really tasty and high quality, not to mention super affordable. My favorite dish had to be the army stew. If you get this, make sure you have a good amount of people to share it with (at least 4). The inside is also very clean and the service is super friendly! I recently came for karaoke and was pleasantly surprised at how clean and spacious the karaoke rooms are. They charge $2 per song and I believe they required a $100 minimum purchase, which isn't hard to do if you're there with a group of friends for a few hours. We came for a birthday party and they let us keep the birthday cake in their fridge until we brought it out at the end of the night, which we really appreciated. Parking is also super convenient. You enter the lot from the street and there's a bunch of stalled parking on the left side. The stalls right in front of the restaurant had signs for other businesses, but we were told we can park there since it's after hours. If you are planning on stopping by for dinner or drinks just be aware that seating is limited. They only have a few tables, so you may want to call first to see if anything is available. If you're planning on stopping by for karaoke, you can also call in advance to reserve a room. Overall, our experience here was great and I'll definitely be coming back! read more

This place is along South King Street the near the Hale Pawaa building. My foody friend recommended this place and I was down to try something new. The waitress checked out temperatures when we came in and we were given COVID-19 screening forms to fill out. There were 3 tables that could fit about 4 people each separated with barriers. There is bar seating and 2 karaoke rooms that were not operating due to COVID-19 restrictions. The menus were disposable paper menus. They have them in Korean and in English. There was a bottle of hand sanitizer and a napkin dispenser at the table. I liked that the napkin was within reach, very convenient. All the staff wore mask and our waitress was friendly and attentive. Last call was around 9:30PM and they are legally not allowed to have any open alcohol out after 10PM. My friend chose the Spicy Pig Skin and Pork with Vegetables. The spicy pig skin had a strong spicy kick. I'm pretty sure my friend asked for extra extra spicy. The skin was cut into slices that were gelatinous and chewy. I enjoyed the big pieces of garlic in this as the dish was a bit too spicy for me. Which was perfect as my friend didn't care for garlic. The Pork with Vegetables had some noodles wrapped in a casing that was sliced kinda like sausage marinated in a spicy sauce. My friend said the noodles had pig blood mixed in. This dish was a good level of spicy. Both of these dishes I think are a bit more on the traditional side and a more acquired taste. I chose the Kimchee Pancake dish cause this never fails to disappoint me. I really enjoyed this dish here. It had nice flavorful slivers of kim chee mixed it and a strong flavor of I wanna say seafood? It was a nice combination of tangy and spicy mixed with hearty seafood-y? LOL. I hope you under stood that. The soju drinks here were pretty yummy! They had original, peach, grapefuit and green grape (muscat grape). Must recommend the grapefruit flavor as #1 for a more citrus-y and refreshing flavor. The green grape flavor is on point if you enjoy muscat grape but a tad on the sweeter side. I must've never really learned to appreciate soju before because after our first shot, I was expecting the normal burning sensation after say a shot of tequila, whiskey or vodka... but to my amazement no burning sensation. Very smooooooooth (smooooooves). I think I've a converted soju drinker now LOL. I believe the brand of soju they served was Jinro Chamisul? The alcohol percentage is about 17% I read on one of the bottles which might help with the smoothness. We also had some Bud Light beers. My friend introduced me to "Soju Bombs". "Soju + beer has been gaining more popularity lately. They call it SOju+Macjoo (beer in Korean) and call it SoMac (). However, SoMac could mean a mixed drink of soju and beer, so let's call it Soju Bomb. Soju Bomb/SoMac." This was a nice mix, recommended. Overall we enjoyed our night out at Cafe Princess Pig. My friends decided to throw me a birthday/going away party here on a Sunday night, and it was the best thing ever! It can be a little tricky to find. There's only one way to enter it; it's by driving under the Little Guaranty Escrow building from S King Street, which is a grey building right before Club Splash and Lobster King on the corner of S King and Ke'eaumoku. Park in any of the angled stalls and you'll find the restaurant to the right (towards Diamond Head/East HNL). There were 8 of us, and we comfortably fit into the smaller karaoke room. And for being a karaoke spot, this place had great food! We ordered: - seafood pancake ($15): definitely homemade. On par with Ireh's- so good! - kimchi pancake ($10): same comment as above. Slightly crispy outside, flavorful interior. - tteokbokki with Princess Pig's special broth ($20): my friends ate all the tteokbokki by the time I got to it :(( but the broth was creamy and spicy, honestly perfect to spoon onto the seafood pancake. - spicy chicken feet with broth ($28): spicy is the correct word. Contrary to its name, the chicken feet was not in a soup broth. It seemed more so stir fried. Tasty, but I honestly still prefer the Chinese preparation of chicken feet, flavored in a sweet/savory way. - fried potato ($10): sliced in thin shoestring slices, these strips are fried until crispy and are coated in a honey butter mix. Honestly, I could sit around and eat these all day LOL - budae jigae/Army stew ($25): filled to the brim with toppings! By far, my favorite of everything we ordered. I think I ate the most of it hehe The room is free with $100 minimum purchase, which was definitely easy for my friends to meet. Also, the karaoke machine takes $2 per song, and their song selection is quite vast. Btw my friends got me a mango cheesecake from Elvin's, which the Cafe Princess Pig staff were graciously able to store in their fridge until it was time to bring it out to me. I went there after reading review from my Hawai'i blogger. First i would like to say the food was bad due to pandemic and not enough customers. BUT I am from where Korean Bar food is not available I would love to take advantage of any opportunity when we travel. So I ordered chicken feet and fried chicken. YES I wasn't expecting 5 star restaurant quality. But I expected the food would worth the drive there (10 min drive from Waikiki). Fried chicken. The meat was way way too dried. That chicken feet which was recommended by that my Hawai'i blogger was terrible. First the feet's were frozen and they used really bad quality ingredients. It was mushy and tasted stale. And the place did not look like a hip place to hang out. Whoever wrote reviews, especially my Hawai, must have had different experiences there at a different time.
