One of my favorite hole in the walls. Nice small corner mom and pop business. It does get packed with a lot of regulars and ppl who know the food here is Ono lol. You can make reservations, walk ins are accepted. My favorite place to grind.
Love this place! I got the BBQ chicken plate and shoyu poke, and both were amazing. Great service and food all around. Highly recommend checking out Kyung's Seafood if you're looking for a fantastic meal!
I always wanted to try this place, but it was always so crowded and we knew it was a happening place It just so happened we were in town early one day and decided that instead of a late breakfast , we would eat an early lunch instead. We stopped by and we were early so we beat the lunch crowd apparently....so happy! The menu is good size and there are quite a few choices, both Korean and seafood. After taking a look at the whole menu, we decided on the mandoo and meat jun combo, and the saba and house poke combo While we were waiting for our meal, banchan was brought out. There was pickled daikon, cabbage kim chee, and mac salad. All the of them were tasty. The saba and poke came out first...by like 10 minutes. It was a bummer because we were the only two people in the restaurant...so we didnt really eat at the same time. The saba was good. It was grilled and was a nice size fillet. The house poke was very good. You could tell that the tuna was fresh, and well tossed with the seasoning. The only bummer was that the rice was dried out and hard. With hot mackerel and fresh poke, I really wanted a helping of fresh rice to complement the seafood. The meat jun and mandoo plate did come out piping hot ten minutes later. The mandoo was fried crispy and too hot to eat so we started with the meat jun. The portion was smaller than expected, based on the price. The mandoo were good. They felt homemade as they were stuffed with meat and noodles...3 very large ones come with the combo. Again the rice was dried out and hard. Plating could have been done a little better...in fact it was a little odd. The combo was served on a three sectioned plate, which is great....but one section was left empty. So your plate looks like it is only 2/3rds full. Now for a $25.00 meal, while not cheap, I am not asking for more food. But wouldnt it make more sense to put rice in one section, and food in the other two so that the plate looks full? Psychologically, it felt like there was something missing from the plate... We were also a little disappointed with the service. There were two workers that we saw in the front of the house. They were nice, but we didn't see them much. Ordering and dropping off a check, I feel, doesnt really count as service. Based on current prices and the 'state of the world', I understand things cost more...dining out has become a true luxury...and sometimes a gamble...or at least feels like it My poke was definitely the highlight of the meal. Based on the price of the combo meals and the size of the portion, we might not come back soon
I honestly hadn't been back to this place in a long time because of the lingering fish smell it used to have. However, since I was in the area, my partner and I decided to give it another shot...and now I'm hooked In fact, I went three times last month. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is on another level. Everyone is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend calling ahead for reservations. My go-to order is always the poke and kalbi, and the third dish depends on whatever my partner is craving that day. Parking can be a little challenging, but I promise it's worth it. Everything we've tried has been absolutely delicious. If I could, I'd eat here once a week! It's currently my partner's and my favorite spot. 10/10, highly recommend!
Kalbi, pork spicy tofu soup, hamachi, seafood pancake, the pictures of other food that I posted- you just can't go wrong. There wasn't a single bad dish. We've had a lot of fine dining and none could compete with the taste and the kindness of this authentic Korean restaurant. Everything went well, a must try that is highly recommended. Don't be discouraged by the outside corner of the street restaurant, the people and the food are the best.
Galbi and Sashimi was really good!! Had a dinner reservation here, highly recommend to make a reservation here as the restaurant is pretty small. It gives off a pocha type of vibe, dim lighting, soju posters everywhere, happy hour, etc. Though, we came here for a family dinner haha. Service was easy to catch their attention since it's a small restaurant and the waiters are not that far. We ordered the sashimi, galbi, meat jun, and tofu soup here. The sashimi was the first to be prepared and they have THICCC slices here. Sashimi was fresh and prepared really well. We ate this one up really quickly haha. The galbi was also one of my favorites. The meat was also marinated very well, juicy, thicc, and the fatty parts were very flavorful. The meat jun was nice as well, and tofu soup was veryyyyy spicy. I don't think they asked what the spice level was, but it was still pretty nice haha. Overall, the meal was pretty good and great portion sizes. You'll have to find street parking since there isn't a designated parking lot, which it wasn't too hard to find around prime dinner time.
Kyung's is my go-to hole-in-the-wall spot--super cozy, no frills, just really good food. Fair warning: the AC is always freezing, so bring a jacket if you get cold easily. Parking can be tricky too--keep an eye out for street parking or the small lot hidden in the back. It's walk-in only, no reservations. This is the spot for sashimi--always insanely fresh. Period. We also ordered the Kalbi and meat Jun which never miss. Tried the kimchi fried rice for the first time and it leaned pretty heavy on sesame oil--still good, just something to note. The banchan is always solid too, especially the mac salad, pickled veggies, and kimchi. Service is quick, food comes out fast, and it's consistently a spot I keep coming back to. Been really wanting to try this place every time I visit and so glad I had the chance this time! Was craving some galbi and their galbi here is sooo good. The meat is incredibly high quality and the marinade is great. We ordered the galbi and poke combo plates, which came with a decent amount of both. I didn't love the poke we ordered so I think next time I'd go with just the galbi plate. There's a lot of other yummy food on the menu I want to try next time! Service here is super nice and friendly. The place has a Korean pub vibe, very casual and comfortable.
We are extremely disappointed with our recent experience. We've been loyal customers and typically eat here twice a week whenever we're on assignment on the island in the last five years. We have also left two previous positive reviews because we've genuinely enjoyed the food and wanted to support this small business. Earlier this week, we ordered the bulgogi for our kids, but the meat was too chewy and tough making it inedible. Wanting to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, we ordered the bulgogi again the following day and even requested it be cooked well done. Unfortunately, it had the same too chewy and tough texture, and again, could not be eaten. After feeding the kids something else, bathing them, and putting them to bed, I called the restaurant around 10:00 p.m., but they had already closed. I called the next day, and the owner (a lady with glasses) returned my call. Instead of listening to my concerns, she repeatedly interrupted me and spoke in a passive-aggressive, dismissive manner. I was on speakerphone with four other adults in the car, and everyone commented on how unhelpful and condescending the conversation felt. I explained that I wasn't calling simply to complain - I wanted to share feedback because we genuinely care about the restaurant and have supported it for a long time. I even mentioned that I had previously provided constructive feedback about the takeout bowls, which the restaurant later improved. Before I could finish, she cut me off and said, "We're not talking about the to-go bowls right now, are we? We're talking about your bulgogi." She insisted that if I wanted a refund, I needed to return to the restaurant in person, and that if something was wrong in the future, I should come back immediately so they could remake it. Unfortunately, that's simply not realistic for us. We're staying in a hotel with two young children, and the restaurant is about 40 minutes away. By the time we discovered the problem, got the kids settled, and called, making another round trip would have meant roughly 80 minutes of additional driving with tired, hungry children. I understand that mistakes happen, and I wasn't expecting perfection. What disappointed me most was how the concern was handled. This business does not value customer feedback and will never first listen respectfully, even from repeat customers who have consistently supported and recommended them. Sadly, based on this experience with both the food quality and the customer service, we won't be returning.
After spending a month in NYC, had to have good local food and Kyung's seafood was the perfect place to go right after returning home. Two of us had the small sashimi platter which reminded us what fresh fish should taste. The seafood jun was spot on and the spicy soft tofu was delicious. We finished the meal with their barbecue chicken. The service was excellent and the food delivered to the table was always timed perfectly.
Had lunch with a friend this week at Kyung's. We got lucky and found a street parking and the meter wasn't working. Got there about 12ish and there were a couple parties inside. There were several tables open so we chose one that was not in the direct path of the air conditioning. The server promptly brought us the menu and water. We both decided on the BBQ chicken and poke plate. The server brought out our banchan with mac salad. They were all tasty and I enjoyed them. The food came out quickly. The chicken was well prepared and tasty. The poke was also fresh and tasty. Defintely on my places to go to when I'm in the mood for Korean food and I'm in town.
Love going to Kyung's because you get to enjoy sashimi, kalbi, and meat jeon at the same time! We got the 24pc sashimi platter, kalbi + meat jeon plate, and the seafood soft tofu stew. They also give you banchan that comes with cabbage kimchi, onions, and macaroni salad. Sashimi portion was generous and each slice was thick. The sashimi platter comes with ahi, salmon, and hamachi. The salmon had a nice fat zebra-like marbling, which melts in your mouth! The seafood soft tofu stew had a lot of ingredients like mussels, shrimp, clams, and an egg. One of the best stew I have in Hawai'i. You can really taste the sea not in a fishy way. Meat jean was delicious and not soggy. Kalbi was thick and good, can't go wrong. Service was very quick and friendly. Good AC. I was able to find street parking a block away from the restaurant which is free on Sundays.
The BEST plate lunch I had in Hawaii! I saw some good recommendations and decided to Uber to this place which is a little way out from Waikiki. I am so happy I did! I got two plate lunches to try, one with salmon and Ahi poke and grill Hamachi, the other with Mandoo dumplings and Kalbi. The plate lunches came with rice, kimchi and Mac salad. Believe me when I say everything was absolutely, mind blowing delicious! The poke was so fresh and perfectly seasoned, with grains of salt that really enhanced the poke flavor. The grilled Hamachi was tender and delicious. The dumplings were fat and filled with meaty filling and the dipping sauce perfectly set off the flavor. And the kalbi was Well marinated and super tender! The sides were on point as well. I can't wait to come here on my next visit to Hawaii! P. S. I met two of the cutest friendliest local old men, who wondered how I had found out about this place because it was such a local spot! They even let me try a piece of mandoo with sauce. Shout out to them lol!

One of my go-to spots for late-night ahi and Korean BBQ plates! The service is always fast and friendly, and while the banchan selection is a little limited, everything is solid. I love the BBQ chicken, meat jun, kalbi, soondubu, and especially the spicy ahi. There's such a good variety of proteins to choose from, so you'll definitely leave happy and full. If you love masago, I highly recommend getting the spicy ahi. It's one of my favorites here! The restaurant itself is pretty small, intimate, and dark, but it's perfect for a quick and casual meal. The portions and prices are also a really good value. Definitely one of those reliable spots I keep coming back to! read more

6/7/26 1st time dining here Would go again Make reservations When we arrived at 5pm only one other couple were seated But mostly all tables had Reserved signs Sure enough Kyung's quickly filled up House Special Ahi Poke' w Tobiko was very tasty n fresh Sizzling Kalbi Ala Carte Plate filled the restaurant w delicious smokey aroma... Get this dish! Also, wash it all down w Happy Hour $5 Heinekens! read more
Very small restaurant that maybe seats 30 people, not suited for large parties. Reservations can be made and probably best for busy times. We walked in at about 5p on a Sunday no reservations, party of 5 and was seated right away, restaurant was not busy, but a couple of tables had reserved signs on them. I can imagine it gets busy. Food is good, poke is fresh and tasty. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Service is fast and friendly. Parking is not the best, because there is not a dedicated parking lot. There's a tiny lot that fits 3 or 4 cars next to it, and the rest is street parking. Typical for town restaurants. read more

I'm kama'āina, and this such a must visit place on Oahu. The food is some of the freshest I've had having been born and raised in Hawai'i. Get the sashimi platter, the meat jun, and the finely minced spicy ahi. Mama Kyung's food will always hold a special place in my heart. read more
Always a good time at Kyung's! They didn't have any seafood the day we went but were able to get some hamachi which had limu. We got the kalbi with mandoo combo as well as the kalbi with meat jun and an order for the seafood jun. The pieces of kalbi were thick and coated in such a tasty sauce. The mandoos were stuffed and had such a crispy texture. The meat jun's "breading" was so soft and delicious and the seafood jun had so much seafood in it. Overall the service, staff and ambiance was amazing! read more
A pretty decent spot within walking distance from the Ala Moana area. We went during an off meal hour, and therefore we were the only table. The restaurant is not too large. Ban chan accompanies all entrees. We tried the sashimi platter as well as the poke/kalbi combo. The kalbi was surprisingly, very delicious and tender. The sashimi slices were generous though the tuna had a slight fishiness to it, though the other two types of fish were fine. Prices were decently reasonable; we would come back on our next trip. read more
Visiting family in Hawaii and just wanted great fresh fish. This was absolutely the right choice. I ordered Mama's Special spicy poke, and just 1/2lb was sooo much for a good price. The flavor was impeccable. Their complimentary banchan was great too, especially the kimchi. My dad got kimchi fried rice with spam and it was the best I have ever tasted. Ever. I've had a lot of fried rice and a lot of kimchi fried rice. This one was off the charts. I seriously mean it's the best I have ever had. Service was also very quick and friendly, and the restaurant was pleasantly quiet. read more

Wow! This place is amazing! I came here with a friend and we ordered a combo plate and meat jun. It was fantastic! We tried going on a sat but it was too long of a wait so we returned Sunday after making a reservation. The place is packed of locals so you know it's good! I have never had meat Jun except for this place. It's a small restaurant but totally worth going! You won't be sorry. read more
This is my new favorite place for Korean food and poke. We ordered the fried salmon skin as an appetizer. Kalbi plate and a poke and BBQ chicken plate. The salmon skin was crispy and tasty, like a salmon potato chip. The kalbi had a good flavor and texture, it was nicely charred. The poke was fresh, firm and tasty. The chicken was tender and had nice grill marks. It came with a set of 3 banchan. You can order more for a small fee. Service was friendly and prompt. The food is excellent, I've been told they previously owned Keeaumoku seafood which is why the poke was so good. I'd say it was even better because it seems like the poke is mixed right before serving instead of sitting mixed in the display case all day. The only problem i can see is parking. It's all on the street which can be difficult. I came on a weekday for lunch and easily found parking but I could see on the weekends or evenings it might be difficult. read more
Kyung's Seafood is the definition of a no-frills, hole-in-the-wall gem, and I make it a point to stop here every single time I'm in the island. The spicy ahi is that dish--I could honestly crush a whole pound by myself and not regret it for a second lol. It's ultra-fresh, perfectly seasoned, and comes with rice and seaweed so you can build the perfect bite every time. Pro tip: call ahead to make sure it's available since they prep everything fresh daily. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the happy hour menu is a nice bonus, and while the spicy ahi steals the show, the other plates are solid too. This place is low-key, local, and absolutely worth going out of your way for. read more

They have such a wide variety (poke + Korean). If I had to pick faves: the spicy ahi, gizzards, and meat Jun!! But everything we got was worth getting. It pains me to make this review, I was such a big fan of this place. The owners and workers were so friendly and they really knew how to take care. Food always fresh and delicious. Unfortunately this time around it was a big disappointment. The worker that helped me over the phone was rude and very impatient with lots of sighs, you can literally feel her attitude through the phone. We ordered a sashimi platter and a pound of spicy ahi. The hamachi on the sashimi platter was so fishy, I know it's fish but it was awful; however the salmon and ahi was perfect. If you are craving for Korean food, Kyung's Seafood can be on your to go list. Price is reasonable and with a wide selection of food, it's a great place to go to. I went on a Saturday on a late afternoon, so it's not crowded at all; and food came out pretty fast. However, if you are looking for a fine dining experience, this is not the place as it's a more like a friendly, family oriented restaurant where you feel very comfortable and relaxed. read more

Always try to come here every time we visit Hawaii. My husband loves meat jun and this place by far has the best one on the island. I love their Mama's special poke. Service is always fast, they never keep you waiting as the food comes out quickly. Staff is always friendly and the vibe is always chill. read more

I swear that this the BEST Korean food restaurant that you'll ever find in Hawaii. I would highly recommend their soju slushies as they are very delicious. Also get the sashimi platter because they are thick slices and are very delicious. It is a small restaurant so try to get there early. The waiter are very nice and very friendly. 1 hour paid Meter Street Parking during the daytime. After 6:00 no time limit. We went for lunch on a weekday. This is a small place with a few tables. We started with Peach Flavored Sho Chu. I ordered the small platter of Sashimi $40 It included fresh Ahi, Salmon, and Hamachi. The pieces are nice sized and oh so yummy! Next up was Kalbi and Squid with Somen Noodles. Street side parking, along with a very small lot, on the side of the restaurant, I usually park as far back as I can, then let someone of our party park in front of me. Its worth the limited parking to dine there

Absolutely! We dropped in around 6:30PM on a Wednesday evening and the entire restaurant was completely reserved.
