    Seafood jun (pancake)
    Robert N.

After spending a month in NYC, had to have good local food and Kyung's seafood was the perfect place to go right after returning home. Two of us had the small sashimi platter which reminded us what fresh fish should taste. The seafood jun was spot on and the spicy soft tofu was delicious. We finished the meal with their barbecue chicken. The service was excellent and the food delivered to the table was always timed perfectly.

Been really wanting to try this place every time I visit and so glad I had the chance this time! Was craving some galbi and their galbi here is sooo good. The meat is incredibly high quality and the marinade is great. We ordered the galbi and poke combo plates, which came with a decent amount of both. I didn't love the poke we ordered so I think next time I'd go with just the galbi plate. There's a lot of other yummy food on the menu I want to try next time! Service here is super nice and friendly. The place has a Korean pub vibe, very casual and comfortable.

Had lunch with a friend this week at Kyung's. We got lucky and found a street parking and the meter wasn't working. Got there about 12ish and there were a couple parties inside. There were several tables open so we chose one that was not in the direct path of the air conditioning. The server promptly brought us the menu and water. We both decided on the BBQ chicken and poke plate. The server brought out our banchan with mac salad. They were all tasty and I enjoyed them. The food came out quickly. The chicken was well prepared and tasty. The poke was also fresh and tasty. Defintely on my places to go to when I'm in the mood for Korean food and I'm in town.

Love going to Kyung's because you get to enjoy sashimi, kalbi, and meat jeon at the same time! We got the 24pc sashimi platter, kalbi + meat jeon plate, and the seafood soft tofu stew. They also give you banchan that comes with cabbage kimchi, onions, and macaroni salad. Sashimi portion was generous and each slice was thick. The sashimi platter comes with ahi, salmon, and hamachi. The salmon had a nice fat zebra-like marbling, which melts in your mouth! The seafood soft tofu stew had a lot of ingredients like mussels, shrimp, clams, and an egg. One of the best stew I have in Hawai'i. You can really taste the sea not in a fishy way. Meat jean was delicious and not soggy. Kalbi was thick and good, can't go wrong. Service was very quick and friendly. Good AC. I was able to find street parking a block away from the restaurant which is free on Sundays.

Very small restaurant that maybe seats 30 people, not suited for large parties. Reservations can be made and probably best for busy times. We walked in at about 5p on a Sunday no reservations, party of 5 and was seated right away, restaurant was not busy, but a couple of tables had reserved signs on them. I can imagine it gets busy. Food is good, poke is fresh and tasty. I don't have anything bad to say about it. Service is fast and friendly. Parking is not the best, because there is not a dedicated parking lot. There's a tiny lot that fits 3 or 4 cars next to it, and the rest is street parking. Typical for town restaurants.

The BEST plate lunch I had in Hawaii! I saw some good recommendations and decided to Uber to this place which is a little way out from Waikiki. I am so happy I did! I got two plate lunches to try, one with salmon and Ahi poke and grill Hamachi, the other with Mandoo dumplings and Kalbi. The plate lunches came with rice, kimchi and Mac salad. Believe me when I say everything was absolutely, mind blowing delicious! The poke was so fresh and perfectly seasoned, with grains of salt that really enhanced the poke flavor. The grilled Hamachi was tender and delicious. The dumplings were fat and filled with meaty filling and the dipping sauce perfectly set off the flavor. And the kalbi was Well marinated and super tender! The sides were on point as well. I can't wait to come here on my next visit to Hawaii! P. S. I met two of the cutest friendliest local old men, who wondered how I had found out about this place because it was such a local spot! They even let me try a piece of mandoo with sauce. Shout out to them lol!

Mama's special poke (spicy) and banchan trio
    Olivia W.

Visiting family in Hawaii and just wanted great fresh fish. This was absolutely the right choice. I ordered Mama's Special spicy poke, and just 1/2lb was sooo much for a good price. The flavor was impeccable. Their complimentary banchan was great too, especially the kimchi. My dad got kimchi fried rice with spam and it was the best I have ever tasted. Ever. I've had a lot of fried rice and a lot of kimchi fried rice. This one was off the charts. I seriously mean it's the best I have ever had. Service was also very quick and friendly, and the restaurant was pleasantly quiet.

If you are craving for Korean food, Kyung's Seafood can be on your to go list. Price is reasonable and with a wide selection of food, it's a great place to go to. I went on a Saturday on a late afternoon, so it's not crowded at all; and food came out pretty fast. However, if you are looking for a fine dining experience, this is not the place as it's a more like a friendly, family oriented restaurant where you feel very comfortable and relaxed.

Wow! This place is amazing! I came here with a friend and we ordered a combo plate and meat jun. It was fantastic! We tried going on a sat but it was too long of a wait so we returned Sunday after making a reservation. The place is packed of locals so you know it's good! I have never had meat Jun except for this place. It's a small restaurant but totally worth going! You won't be sorry.

    Belle L.

Always a good time at Kyung's! They didn't have any seafood the day we went but were able to get some hamachi which had limu. We got the kalbi with mandoo combo as well as the kalbi with meat jun and an order for the seafood jun. The pieces of kalbi were thick and coated in such a tasty sauce. The mandoos were stuffed and had such a crispy texture. The meat jun's "breading" was so soft and delicious and the seafood jun had so much seafood in it. Overall the service, staff and ambiance was amazing!

Kyung's Seafood is the definition of a no-frills, hole-in-the-wall gem, and I make it a point to stop here every single time I'm in the island. The spicy ahi is that dish--I could honestly crush a whole pound by myself and not regret it for a second lol. It's ultra-fresh, perfectly seasoned, and comes with rice and seaweed so you can build the perfect bite every time. Pro tip: call ahead to make sure it's available since they prep everything fresh daily. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the happy hour menu is a nice bonus, and while the spicy ahi steals the show, the other plates are solid too. This place is low-key, local, and absolutely worth going out of your way for.

I really enjoy the Korean comfort foods! 4 stars for the food, soups, and ban chan, 5 stars if the service was great. Typical service you will get at a Korean spot but no complaints. Just gotta be patient for ban chan refills or if you need anything else, I don't expect much just happy that I get to have my Korean food. During this recent Saturday visit, I decided to go here for our late lunch, after hiking Koko Head Trail & Makapuu. It was about 4:30 pm, we were the only ones there, but it filled up pretty quick an and they do have many take out and Uber/Door Dash orders. My favorites here are the combo set, choice of soondubu (combination, kim chee, spam, beef, sausage, clam,) & either meat jun, fried mandoo, bulgogi, yellow corvina, seafood jun, or BBQ chicken. The combo use to be $20.55 my first time but now went up to $23.55, hence the increase, it is still a great deal, this meal comes with rice and 5 different ban chan. This combo was more than enough for the both of us. My favorite is the spam soondubu ( yes. who picks Spam right?! hehe) & the seafood Jun. Although it so hard to decide since all the choices are good, I will have to visit again for the other selection. The other half and I cannot eat an entire combo set by ourselves. I love the ban chan, especially the daikon & kim chee, so fresh and crispy! When I first dined here, I was surprise to see they give you a fresh egg to crack in your soondubu soup, I am use to the egg already in there. We always have leftover soondu soup which I take home and add to my Korean ramen the next day, so good! For the meats, the beef brisket and beef toro were the stars, but the beef chuck was slightly tough and dry. They were also out of bulgogi, which was disappointing. The pork had a really strong boar taint smell/taste, which completely turned me off from ordering any of the pork. We had to ask for more meat and banchan refills multiple times. There was usually a pretty noticeable lag before anything came out, which was frustrating for an AYCE spot. They also seemed to be selective about which banchans they would refill. They would bring more of the dishes like kimchi and cucumber, but when we asked for more tuna mac, they wouldn't give us any. It also looked like there were only two people working while there were probably around 10 tables during the Tuesday lunch rush, so I do think they were understaffed. If you're offering AYCE, the refills and service should flow a lot more smoothly. It felt like they were paying more attention the tables that selected a higher tier of AYCE. Not a terrible experience, but definitely not as seamless or enjoyable as I was hoping for.
