The best poke bowl spot for variety and options. Mama Kim's is only a short bus ride from the Waikiki strip of hotels. I saw them on my IG reels and was stoked to come for a late lunch before an evening of surf. Their menu is extensive. I was low-key overwhelmed, so just went with the one that caught my eye. I love me some natto, and the Neba Neba caught my eye with that slow-cooked runny egg. I ordered as takeout, and they made my bowl within 10 mins. Super friendly and chill service. They also have local cans of juice and coconut waters for sale. Neba Neba was good, but I think I would try another bowl next time. If you're not a fan of runny texture, I would go for something else. My bowl was so colorful and healthy, I def got good ratio of protein to rice. Hella fresh and didn't leave me bloated. read more

All of their poke is made fresh daily and all of their fried dishes are fried perfectly to order. I really like the red dragon and the seared garlic ahi, my fiance loves the firecracker bowl. I love Mama Kim's. My uber eats history will confirm this lol I've literally ordered from them two days in a row.. My go to is always a two choice poke bowl, usually with spicy ahi and shoyu ahi. Comes with 3 sides, I usually go with avocado, crab salad and takuan. Definitely add on the toppings such as furikake or garlic chips! Bowls have the option of regular white rice or sushi rice (always get the sushi rice)! The fish is always fresh and good quality! I've also tried the Kilauea bowl which was seared salmon and spicy salmon with toppings like crab salad and unagi sauce. So yummy!! No question that I will continue to support them! read more

It's very fresh tasting and extremely satisfying. It definitely hit the spot. Very flavorful. Fast service. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and made it an overall awesome experience. Had to come back to make sure we are not mistaken :) Service was pretty basic, they immediately offered us chopsticks so that is a thumb up. Wish they had more money so they could make interior more interesting but they are a small family business that deserves more attention. While waiting for Ms Sofie I saw this little shop on the corner as I turned from King Street onto Kaheka. I've read reviews just didn't realized I'm driving past it every time I'm going to Sofie's groomer. It was actually the sign set up on the patch of grass in front that caught my eye because the restaurant doesn't open until 10:00 and I usually drop Miss Sofie off at 9:30 from a different entrance. OH well, now I know. So I walked to the front of the building as they were opening the doors, looked at the menu and placed my order. This is a very small shop, three people will make it feel crowded. There were four workers all working in unison to make the dishes efficiently and timely. I had the spicy Tuna hand roll, Spicy Hamachi hand roll and the California roll with a bottle of cold water and made use of the outside tables which are clearly marked for this business's use only. All the food was good, nori wraps crispy, just spicy enough. They apparently do a lot or Uber Eats and pick up/take out business. No designated parking, street parking only with meters but if you've ordered ahead and have someone with you it would be easy to pick up while your someone drives around the block. Been wanting to try Mama Kim's from when they first opened and I'm so glad my coworkers and I finally got to try them! It's a small place with pick up only and they have a fridge with drinks & kimchee for purchase. I placed an order at about 11am and they were very fast. I got there about 15 minutes later and my order was ready. We ordered the spicy ahi deluxe bowl, seared salmon bowls, spicy ahi handroll, and hamachi handroll. The seared salmon bowl was so good. Perfectly seared with garlic chips & nori on top and ginger & wasabi on the side. It tasted like the torched sushi that you get an Genki Sushi but way better quality! The spicy ahi was so good as well. Minced fresh ahi with the perfect amount of spice. And the hamachi was my fav. Imported Japan hamachi, just melted in your mouth and tasted so fresh. The only hard part is the parking. Not sure if you can park in a parking structure, but I only saw metered parking and luckily there was one when I went. They're right next to Louise's. And close to the drive thru panda on King St. I definitely would go back! They have so menu items that look so good. I recommend you try them if you haven't already! read more

Mama Kim's makes solid poke bowls! They have a variety of poke offerings like spicy ahi, shoyu ahi, limu poke, hamachi and even a creamy mentaiko ahi! You can order your bowl with either one or two scoops and choose up to three toppings. It's hard to just choose three, but I tend to go for the crab, cucumber and tamago. They also have additional toppings for a charge like uni, ikura or shrimp tempura. The bowls are pretty expensive for the size, but they taste delicious! My friends always talk about Mama Kim's and I've been super curious about them ever since I tried their poke at a Poke Fest one year in Kapolei. They're located on S King Street and there's a shared lot but I heard it was pretty expensive to park there so we found street parking and walked over. They have a variety of poke bowls and chirashi, and also have a grab and go section of housemade sides like kimchi that piqued my interest. When you dine in they give you complimentary miso soup which was a super nice surprise. There's outside seating and a few chairs inside if you want to enjoy your food there. All the plates we ordered were fresh and tasty. The garlic seared tuna was creamy and delicious, the spicy tuna deluxe has the spicy kick, the spicy ahi inari bomb were exploding big flavors in the mouth. The rice were hot and creamy. The only down side is that after eating them, we were super thirsty, and drinking water nonstop. I think that's because I ate almost all of the delicious raw squid side dish without rice. I did the BYOB with Hawaiian style poke and salad and it was good! Similar to ahi and vegetable but I liked how you could add extras on like garlic, furikake, edamame and cucumber. It was $15 to BYOB plus $2 for the salad instead of rice. I did add a goma dressing on the side, which paired well with my poke salad. My boyfriend got the spicy ahi hand rolls and he liked them. Parking was slightly hard to find knowing it was only street parking but all in all it was an okay experience with somewhat quality fish and not to mention portions were fair for price tag attached to it.
