I've never actually been to the market but my boyfriend always knows to stop by and bring home my favorite, cold ginger poke. It's just soooo good, unmatched I must say! As it can get busy, my boyfriend has lucked out on going where there was barely a line. I have yet to make a visit when I'm in the area, definitely one of my top poke spots on the island.

This spot had such big fresh chunks of fish. The staff were friendly and the line moved quickly. I liked the ginger scallion topping mine had. Out of all the poke shops I stopped by I wouldn't say it was my favorite of the trip, but it was the only one to offer a salad/vegetable which was a welcome option.

After all these years, Off the Hook is easily still my (and the kid's) favorite spot for fresh poke on O'ahu. Quality hasn't changed. All flavors of ahi poke are excellent and delicious. My go-to is usually spicy ahi but today I got the ginger and Japan deluxe. We arrived at 11:20-ish on a Friday and there was a short line which moved quickly. The three staff behind the counter were very efficient and have their system down. Some trays were already half gone. By the time we got our food, the line had extended to the bus stop! Therefore, best to come early. There are two small tables by the front, on either side of the line, which can be awkward. My friend and I trekked to the tables at Mānoa Marketplace to enjoy our fish and the warm sun and gentle breeze.

Came back a second time to get their regular bowl. Wanted more of their Cold Ginger Ahi and the Wasabi Furikaki which were our favorites from the sampler. Quick counter service as before. No line during weekday lunch 11:00 or so. They have the various rice options prepacked and ready to go. You then pick one or two pole and then free topping options. Dang this poke is so good. A few tables out front to eat at. Will come back next time we visit Oahu.

Spicy ahi- 5/5 classic creamy spicy. My fav Spicy ginger ahi- 5/5 also delicious. They also have a non spicy version too. Best poke I had in Hawaii. Only place we went to twice in entire island. Tuna was so fresh you'll realize THIS is how it should taste and feel, texture wise. Why is mainland poke never this good!! Not even close. Highly recommend stopping by here for poke over all else. Chose white rice as base but that was kinda dry. Noticed they scooped the white rice ahead of time and left it in the takeaway containers--to be proactive? But just makes the rice dry. I mean, does it really take that long to scoop rice that you have to do it ahead of time? That was meh, but fish oh my god so good. SOOOO GOOD You can also order poke by a quarter, half, or whole pound. Parking sucks. Tiny lot. No seats inside (actually you can't even go inside), but a few tables outside. There is a roof overhead incase it's raining and you need a place to eat.

Probably some of the best fresh ahi offered near Waikiki. It was significantly better than FoodLands and Fort Rugers Market's poke. They don't offer samples but the popular flavors are Ginger and Spicy Mayo. I got the Japanese Deluxe and K. Spicy which were flavorful but a bit salty. Probably should've chosen a simpler flavor to maximize the fresh taste. Very long lines but it goes by quickly.

This was pretty good, but not a perfect bowl for me. Fish was fresh and the flavors/sauces were good and unique. I really enjoyed all the toppings. Some people say it takes away from the fish but idk man I'm kind of a fan of extra textures. The big downside for me personally was the sushi rice. Definitely had a bit too much vinegar for my liking and I felt like it took away from the fish. Overall I'd say good bowl, I'd want to try it with just white rice next time.

I went here today because I was craving poke. I ordered their mini size 2 choice poke and chose their signature ginger ahi and Japanese deluxe ahi poke which has a lot of umami. These 2 choices went well together. Their poke is fresh and tender and their flavors are unique.

After hiking Manoa Falls Trail, we were hungry and saw a long line for poke and stopped here. I ordered both spicy tuna and regular ahi tuna, and unfortunately the tuna was slimy, chewy, and didn't taste very fresh - not sure if this was from thawed frozen fish or made the day before. I also tried the garlic ahi separately because we were told it was popular, but all of them tasted overly salty. The garlic sauce tastes like a garlic green onion sauce that Chinese people make to dip plain chicken. The octopus was probably the best part of the bowl - not amazing, but decent compared to the rest. The sushi rice was another downside - very heavy on the vinegar and completely overpowered the poke. Overall, the bowl just didn't come together well, and the quality didn't meet expectations for poke. Portions were fine, but freshness and balance were lacking especially given the price.

@fortunefoodfinds: "HOOKED on you! When in Manoa, have to pay a visit to Off The Hook POKE MARKET. Ordered a regular poke bowl on sushi rice featuring their spicy ahi n' cold ginger ahi. Aside from the poke their sushi rice is a must, my kids L.O.V.E. it so much!" SERVICE: fast n' friendly, went in the afternoon INTERIOR: n/a EXTERIOR: have a display fridge where you order right at the door WAIT TIME: 5 mins PARKING: some stalls in the back of the building that is usually filled, however plenty across the street in lot OVERALL COMMENTS: go-to is their cold ginger ahi, sushi rice, n' poke bombs that's filled with spicy ahi. They do offer a sampler plate that's great if it's your first time or you just wanna lil' bit of everything, but highly recommend going when they open in case they sell out of some. Expect a line in the morning. Def a poke spot to visit!

Came here from a friends recommendation. It's a small poke shop with several outdoor seating: ordered the ginger ahi tuna which was super delicious!! (The taste sort of reminded me of Hainan chicken). Also ordered the spicy ahi tuna which was nice and creamy and shoyu ahi. the fish was really fresh. This poke place is a bit on the saltier side compared to other places I've tried but still yummy!

This place my third time visiting Off the Hook, and it is always worth the wait rain or shine. I ordered the Kilauea Fire & Shoyu Ahi this time, and the texture is top tier. I would order the Hawaiian Style with one of these options next time to balance the flavors more and to avoid a bit of redundancy. There is a small seating area outside of the shop, and there isn't a lot of seating in the surrounding area. Service is generous and accommodating. This is my favorite poke spot aside from Foodland on the Island.

Off the Hook was recommended to us by some local friends, but unfortunately this was one of our least favorite poke places that we tried during our visit to O'ahu. We tried 4 different types of poke here, and in general they were all extremely salty. We tried the shoyu ahi, spicy ahi, miso ginger tako, and cold ginger ahi. The shoyu ahi was probably the saltiest, and unfortunately the soy sauce seeped into the rice and it very salty. The cold ginger ahi was very strongly seasoned with a sauce that seemed to be green onion and ginger and unfortunately was not pleasant. It's possible that we came on a bad day, as it seems very popular, and the line outside was pretty long. But, based on my experience, I would recommend visiting somewhere else. There is a limited amount of seating and tables outside. The location is convenient for visitors to the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, as it's a walkable distance from the campus.

I'm not 100% sure because I'm very picky about my soy sauce and never asked them for it (I keep several on hand for various dishes). IMO, the only proper soy sauce for Poke' is Aloha Shoyu, which you can get in most grocery stores in the area. That… Read more

We got the two selection combo, which we shared, but honestly I could've eaten this whole thing on my own no problem. The ahi tasted super fresh and since we got there right when they opened, it was even better. They have a small parking lot with just a handful of spots. Getting there early, parking wasn't a problem at all. They have some tables outside so we were able to eat it there before taking off for the airport. Definitely more of a takeout spot. We didn't spend much time in the area, so it was the last meal we had before taking off to the airport and I couldn't think of a better meal to end an amazing trip. If I was staying nearby, I definitely would've come here more than once!

I liked that there was a condiment bar at the end to add any toppings you wanted. The fish was fresh and well seasoned, with no fishiness at all. I just wished there was a bit more white onion for crunch, but it was good regardless. The Fish and Chips were really good. The fish was super crispy, the meat was firm, and the fries were nicely fried. The tartar sauce or maybe more of a lemony aioli, was the star. It wasn't your usual tartar sauce; it had a homemade lemony sweetness that made it delicious. My only complaint was that the batter came off the fish pretty easily, which made it a bit tricky to eat at times.
