I loved it omg. The ahjumma who helped us was so sweet and I loved practicing my very limited Korean phrases to her lol. Once I stepped in it felt like I was transported back to a restaurant/bar/pub in Korea. The Bossam was the big star of the show. Meat was so tender and the vegetables were so fresh. Super delicious and definitely enough to feed two people comfortably. Their soft tofu soup was standard, but honestly I have tasted better ones at my other fave Korean restaurants, so I'd pass on the soup. Everything else was amazing though! Definitely want to come back and try the other items!

Jagalchi is hands down my favorite go-to Korean spot. They're open late, which already makes it elite, but the vibes seal the deal. It's trendy, dark-lit, colorful, and gives full Korean bar energy -- neon lights, funky decor, and that lively 분위기 where you want to grab a beer and stay awhile. I highly recommend making reservations or getting there early to put your name on the list. It fills up fast, especially late night and on weekends. My must-orders every time: Pork bossam Meat jeon Some version of their fried pancake (seafood or chives -- you really can't go wrong) There's a parking lot out front, but it gets packed quickly, so plan accordingly and show up a little early. If you're looking for a fun, late-night Korean spot with solid food and great energy, this is it.

Jagalchi offers the best ambiance for a cute date night or hangout with friends! Plenty of free parking at the lot, lots of seating inside and clean restrooms. The food is delicious! I can't help but notice a slight change in the offerings, but everything is still yummy. Only thing is--the price for the food seems steep to what it is. The bossam comes with plenty meat and veggies, even the half size. The flavor/seasoning of the meat was inconsistent dependent on which piece, but the radish kimchi that accompanied it was lovely. The banchan was okay, a little under-seasoned for my liking. The Tteokbokki was more spicy per my request, but a bit of a let down. The sauce was good but the portion of fishcake was a big disappointing. Not nearly enough cabbage. The deep fried seaweed rolls and mandu on top were soggy, even cold. No crunch. The garlic shoyu wings were juicy and super garlicky. The texture of the breading was not crisp or light, but rather crunchy and thick. It reminded me of the breading often found in chicken tenders. The food took quite some time to come out. It was a busy night, and I don't mind waiting; however, the wait was not rewarded with fresh or hot food--which is the bigger issue. Customer service is always friendly. Very much a safe, welcoming space. The kiosks at each table make service more efficient. Overall, positive experience.

Ordered take-out because I was craving Korean food. I didn't want to dine in because I wasn't sure of the vibes, but after stepping in I think I would actually consider dining in next time. The ambiance was laid back and cozy. There was a nice "private" area for a group of people to the side. The workers were attentive and friendly. And the food was so good! It was definitely worth the money to me. I would love to come back and try new stuff next time!

This is a newer Korean restaurant spot and it's definitely worth a try! The restaurant itself is very small, so limited seating. The parking lot is also small and you probably want to be using a smaller car to fit in stalls. I have visited this spot twice and both times were at opening times, so I got fortunate that both times wasn't busy. The food comes out pretty quickly. We ordered a variety of appetizers to start and then shared a stew and a platter of meat. The fried mandoo is a fave for me, along with the cheesy corn go appetizers! The banchans were great and we got refills for our banchans! For the main entree we ordered a platter of pork belly and pigs feet sliced up. The platter comes out cold, which I don't care for but the flavors and softness of the meat were good. If I could choose to have it come out hot I would have enjoyed it much more! I will definitely come back again to try more items on the menu!

Call for reservations! The wait time can be busy on a weekend evening. There is also an online waitlist you can join before you arrive. The kalbi was soooo good! I wish I ordered a full order. The rose tteokboki was also delicious. Next time, I'd probably skip the fried chicken. It was good, but nothing stand out-ish. I would also skip the corn cheese. It's pretty expensive for just corn and cheese... Love that you can order half orders of the main meats! A pretty small place so not the best for a large group, but call in advance to see if they can accommodate.

This place is an absolute TREASURE!!! Absolutely MFing treasure!!!!. If you are picky, have multiple allergies, or plan to substitute and modify dishes, this may not be the right place for you. Thus food is meant to be enjoyed as it appears on the menu. Out cost was $76 without tip. We did tip 20% for a lunch time trip. We are two people. We could of Totally taken our 3 pre teen boys to eat today since we did order so much food. So the spicy garlic wings are life changing. Like life changing hella good. The Kalbi was delicious. We did order the full plate instead of the half. I could have used a little more crisp and caramelization/char on them, but that's a personal preference. But so good. The chive jeon was so delicious. We can never not order his! Perfect!! The kimbab was very good!!!! Portions are hefty and the two of us could have fed three more for sure. The vibe is great, plenty of seating for being downtown .

I've been to Jagalchi twice so far. The first time was when they initially opened, and my experience back then was just okay--nothing special. I hadn't returned until a few weeks ago, and this time the experience was great! We called around 7:00 pm to see if they had a table for two. They told us they had one left, so we headed over and were seated right away. It was pretty crowded, and the restaurant felt smaller than I remembered, though still fairly spacious. If you plan on going on a weekend, I definitely recommend making a reservation. The staff was super friendly, and the food was delicious. We ordered the rosè tteokbokki, kimchi jjigae, and bossam. Portions were huge--we left with plenty of leftovers. They also have a nice variety of alcoholic drinks. I'll definitely be back again soon!

Friendly service, fun atmosphere, reasonably priced, and tasty food. What more could you ask for? Came in with on Saturday night at 6pm with a group of 7. Definitely would not have gotten seated quickly without a res, so highly recommended with a bigger group. Big parking lot with lots of free parking. Tried the chives jeon, bossam, army stew, bacon bean sprouts (more like thick pork belly, which was a disappointment but still good in its own way!), crispy wings, kimbap, corn cheese, and L.A galbi. Everything was tasty! Also had more than few bottles of sugar-free Saero soju (yay for no hangovers) and Cass beer. Left so full and with leftovers, too. All that for $57/person including tip. Not too bad! It was also fun being able to write all over the tables and walls with the provided markers. Definitely a great spot for a group dinner. Will definitely be back!

This is very much one of the trendy Korean food/bar spots in Honolulu at the moment. You may or may not have to wait a while to get a table depending on the time and the day. But it's definitely worth the wait. Inside definitely has a Korean bar vibe with K-Pop blasting. If you're not into that, then the food will definitely make up for it. I always get the bossam in addition to something else. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Drive down Young St. there is a parking lot right in front of the restaurant or street parking. Better to make reservations or just waitlist. Service wise they use a bell system and they are usually pretty quick. They serve comfort food and family style. The portions were big. I would recommend this place, bring friends.

Not a great experience, unfortunately. The food was okay at best, but the service was where things really fell apart. Our server seemed to be "trying," but was working alone in the front, so we were hitting that push button like a game show contestant - minus the fun. What we ordered: 3 Combo Wings - Wings were fried nicely, fries were good, and the Soy Garlic flavor was the clear winner. Service time? 40 minutes. Way too long. Jokbal - Not our first choice. It came out ICE COLD. This would've been nice to know beforehand, we would've 100% passed! The Jokbal was far too gamey, even behind the spicy kimchi. We only ordered this because 33 minutes after ordering the Bossam, we were told it wouldn't be ready until dinner service. That's something a restaurant should know before taking the order... and definitely prior to 33 minutes when we were told. We went here specifically for this, so you can imagine the letdown. Seafood Pancake - Flavorful. The best thing we ate. Spicy Pork - Cooked well and we appreciated all the onions, but oh boy did that thing desperately need salt. More importantly tho, there was a hair stuck on the wooden serving board. Yuck! Quite a disappointment, but it looked really good. We were one of two tables for the majority of our time there. At the last quarter, two other tables came in. The guy working the front served as the bartender, waiter, and was prepping stuff at the counter. I think it's safe to say, this skeleton crew did not benefit the business. Bro needed help, for real. And lastly - to top off the poor experience, there was a homeless man hanging out near the entrance in the private lot, which made us uneasy about our car and my family walking in/out. The restaurant should do something about homeless setting up shop near the restaurant. It's bad for business on so many levels. We won't be back.

We had such a wonderful dining experience! The food came out fresh and flavorful, the service was friendly and quick and the whole vibe of the restaurant really makes you feel like you're in Korea. Corn Cheese 콘치즈 ($16) So creamy and cheesy, the perfect comfort food! The balance of sweet corn with gooey melted cheese was spot on. 3 Combo Wings 3콤보윙 ($32) Crispy, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. Each flavor was delicious and made it hard to pick a favorite. Great portion for sharing. Rose Tteokbokki 로제떡볶이 ($26) A must-try! Creamy, spicy, and rich with just the right kick. The sauce paired beautifully with the chewy rice cakes. Spicy Squid 오징어볶음 ($28) Tender squid with a bold, spicy flavor that really stands out. Perfect with rice or just on its own if you love spice. Upgrade Kimbab +$6 ($4 + $2) Fresh and tasty rolls, the upgrade made it extra filling and satisfying. A great side dish to balance out the stronger flavors. Milkis 밀키스 ($4) Refreshing and sweet a fun drink that pairs perfectly with spicy dishes. I love it!!!! Yogurt Soju Pitcher 요거트소주피쳐 ($23) So smooth and easy to drink! Lightly sweet, refreshing and a great choice for sharing at the table. I thought we couldn't finish but we did haha it was alot of food, too. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious and well-prepared. The ambiance, friendly service, and tasty food made it feel like a little trip to Korea. Highly recommend this spot for both casual hangouts and fun nights out! :))

I really enjoy the Korean comfort foods! 4 stars for the food, soups, and ban chan, 5 stars if the service was great. Typical service you will get at a Korean spot but no complaints. Just gotta be patient for ban chan refills or if you need anything else, I don't expect much just happy that I get to have my Korean food. During this recent Saturday visit, I decided to go here for our late lunch, after hiking Koko Head Trail & Makapuu. It was about 4:30 pm, we were the only ones there, but it filled up pretty quick an and they do have many take out and Uber/Door Dash orders. My favorites here are the combo set, choice of soondubu (combination, kim chee, spam, beef, sausage, clam,) & either meat jun, fried mandoo, bulgogi, yellow corvina, seafood jun, or BBQ chicken. The combo use to be $20.55 my first time but now went up to $23.55, hence the increase, it is still a great deal, this meal comes with rice and 5 different ban chan. This combo was more than enough for the both of us. My favorite is the spam soondubu ( yes. who picks Spam right?! hehe) & the seafood Jun. Although it so hard to decide since all the choices are good, I will have to visit again for the other selection. The other half and I cannot eat an entire combo set by ourselves. I love the ban chan, especially the daikon & kim chee, so fresh and crispy! When I first dined here, I was surprise to see they give you a fresh egg to crack in your soondubu soup, I am use to the egg already in there. For the meats, the beef brisket and beef toro were the stars, but the beef chuck was slightly tough and dry. They were also out of bulgogi, which was disappointing. The pork had a really strong boar taint smell/taste, which completely turned me off from ordering any of the pork. We had to ask for more meat and banchan refills multiple times. They would bring more of the dishes like kimchi and cucumber, but when we asked for more tuna mac, they wouldn't give us any. It also looked like there were only two people working while there were probably around 10 tables during the Tuesday lunch rush, so I do think they were understaffed. If you're offering AYCE, the refills and service should flow a lot more smoothly. It felt like they were paying more attention the tables that selected a higher tier of AYCE.
