We came here for dinner to try out their new dinner menu and wines and this place did not disappoint! Service was amazing and super quick! The owner came to give some recommendations for our wine pairings and appetizers. We got their baked brie tart for appetizers with a sparkling wine to start off. The baked brie tart was so delicious we had to get more! Next, we had the pork ribs and octopus for our main course and it was pretty good! The octopus weren't too chewy so it was good! The pork ribs was so tasty too and made us want more. They also recommended the best wine pairing for us and the red wine did not disappoint. We had to finish off with desserts and we got the affogato espresso and it was so good! The coffee wasn't too strong and just complement the whole thing really well. It was so good that we have to try their cafe next! Overall, service and food was really good! Definitely will be coming back!
Quite a polished gem in my neighborhood, this was a pleasant find! I heard they offered Tea Service and I wanted to experience this with a couple of girlfriends. The Tea Service is on scheduled days, twice a month, and it was easy to make a reservation on Open Table. Our party had a last minute addition and it was easy to call and give them notice for another seat at our table. Thank you Dan for the pleasant call back, phone message, and confirmation :) We appreciated the free parking upstairs and the warm welcome as we arrived. As any Yelper knows, Eyes eat first and wow, there's a lot of pretty things to see here! We were escorted to our booth, a comfy velvety area that fits three or four. A gorgeous chandelier above our table gave it that luxurious pop! Our table was clean and set with fresh anthuriums. Cloth napkin was neatly folded with shiny silverware place setting. From the set menu, we could select one beverage, of which four options have alcohol. There's a corkage fee if you bring your own bottle. Nice offering of coffee and tea, either hot or cold. The tiered presentation is always fun. First level included the savory bites. Their chef had ham and cheese mini croissants, smoked salmon with cream cheese crostini (my favorite), a deviled egg with generous filling, and a brie with fig pastry puff. Second level, their pastry chef prepared a chocolate scone, vanilla basque cheesecake, and an exquisite mini chocolate cake (my favorite). They also had a pineapple coconut Panna cotta in a cup. The top level had two kinds of treasures from their chocolatier. Between the strawberry and lychee bon bon, it was really hard to pick a favorite :) They were both delicious decadent confections. I had so much fun that I returned the next day with two more girlfriends. I wanted to try other menu items and wouldn't you know it, Dan recognized me and thanked me for coming back. Twice in a row, the Service has been great. Twice in a row, the food and beverage met my expectations. Twice in a row, my guests enjoyed the experience. Will honestly return and partake in other menu items and fellowship in a really cute atmosphere.
Four stars because the food was so good. However, if I could give three and a half stars I would. We reserved their first "champagne" tea service, so I was super excited because that's my favorite thing. While there were lovely bottles of champagne decorating the restaurant when we arrived, not one of the drinks on the menu actually contained champagne (which is actually an important distinction). There were two drinks made with a crémant (sparkling wine from France, but not champagne). In every other champagne tea service I have tried, a glass of champagne is typically included alongside your tea service. For this it was a list of several tea drinks and two crémant cocktails of which, you could choose one. The space is nice and clean with a pretty modern vibe and would be nice for lunch or a coffee when out and about. The staff was also super friendly and seemed really happy to be hosting this event. As mentioned previously, the food was really good. We started with a salad which was so light and refreshing, I was tempted to ask for seconds. The tea sandwiches and sweets were also really good and filling. The chocolates were flavored, however, only one of them actually tasted fruity. The other one just tasted like plain chocolate. I'd like to go back for lunch sometime or maybe grab a coffee or tea next time I'm in the area. However, I likely will not reserve this tea service again.
Cute little cafe, great for meetings & social gatherings. First time coming here & it was okay. They got our drinks wrong twice and the food was decent. My friends match latte was more milky than Matcha. We have yet to try this place again maybe it was a little too busy? Anyway although they got our drinks wrong twice the service was really nice and they took care of us well. Limited parking upstairs, lots of street parking :)
I found out about this place from IG and the tiramisu mocha really caught my eye! My friend and I came in for an afternoon pick me up. First off, this place is so cute! A coffee bar in the front and towards the back are more tables and booths which I'm assuming is for the restaurant/wine bar side that starts in the evening. I ordered the tiramisu mocha and it was fantastic! I love my coffee sweet and tiramisu is one of favorite desserts so it was perfect to me. The mocha was rich and the cream cheese cold foam topped it off nicely. It even came with a little biscotti cookie! It is a little pricey though because I think I paid a little over $11 for my drink (including tip). But hey it was not an average coffee or latte so I thought it was worth it for the most part. The barista who helped us was friendly and she even gave us a piece of chocolate on the side with our drinks! Which was also really good. I definitely recommend checking out this spot to satisfy your sweet caffeine fix!
Love the space here. Coffee/wine bar looks small from the outside but is actually much bigger than first impression. Decorated comfortably. Food and drinks offering a nice menu. I enjoyed a matcha lattes with coconut milk. Very happy that they serve a variety of matcha drinks. Also bought a refreshing arugula salad for myself and a box of madelines to share with coffee friends. The flavor of the madelines changes often. We had hoped to get some ube or chocolate madelines but were happy with the matcha filled ones. Also go to try a bit of the breakfast sandwich and green tea scone. Looking forward to returning. Might have to get some of those delicious ube creme filled chocolates, and definitely for another matcha latte!
Lunch in Kaimuki, Honolulu, Hawaii... My friend wanted to go to lunch and I suggested this Hot New Business because I knew that they had free, shared parking upstairs - where Plantoem is located (above Champs). We walked into a beautiful environment! The plush, velvet booths, crystal chandeliers, and beautiful wall mural created an elegant space! I asked for the key to the restroom down the hall - it was clean and well decorated! Service was helpful and friendly! I asked for a glass of water (after I took a bite of my sandwich and realized that I needed some liquid). The cashier brought us a refrigerated bottle of water and some glasses! Later, I asked if the Olive Oil cake had corn meal in it - no... it was polenta! The cashier brought the pastry chef to our table so we could chat with her! By the way - there was vanilla Chantilly on the olive oil cake, which was made moist with ricotta... Note the marigold petals on the top of the cake... It was a vibrant contrast to the pastel calamansi curd! Genius! We also shared the Charcuterie Sandwich (a bit spicy from the salami, but fun with diced pickles) and the fresh arugula salad (on the tart side from the bold vinaigrette). Both entrées were tasty and attractive! The talented barista created a caramel latte for my friend. It wasn't on the menu. My friend described what she wanted to the cashier who made it happen! The result was super cute swan latte art and a beverage that my friend enjoyed totally! It wasn't too sweet, not too boring, but smooth and perfect! We really enjoyed the background music, pleasant air-conditioning, and calm ambiance! We would highly recommend Fusion Cafe + Wine!
Fusion Cafe + Wine has been open for a couple of months - since the end of 2023. Situated on Waialae Avenue next to Champs, sports bar and grill. They offer tea and espresso based beverages as well as pastries, specifically scones and madelines, sandwiches, and salads. The also offer in-house chocolate truffles. Initial visit, I had a Ka'u pour over and a white chocolate matcha scone for takeaway. The former was very good; the latter could've had a stronger matcha flavor profile but was good. Subsequently, got takeout again - a double espresso and The Grain salad. Espresso was okay. Salad was excellent...couscous, feta, red onion, etc...could've done without the cucumbers, but that's just a personal preference. Metered street parking and second level parking is available.
Food: I only did a grab and go. It was for the Bahn Mi sandwich. I didn't realize it was a croissant rather than a French roll. It still had all the fixin's of a Bahn Mi, such as the pickled carrots and daikon. It's said Lechon Bahn Mi, when I see Lechon I think Filipino Lechon. This was a sausage but the flavor was like a bahn mi sanwhich pork meat. I've never tasted a sausage with Vietnamese flavors. They might make it themselves, I don't know. It's surprisingly good. However, I would prefer the typical Bahn Mi bread. Service: The lady at the counter was very friendly. My time was brief since it was a grab and go. Would love to sit down and try other items and espresso drinks here. I believe there will be cocktails in the future but they just opened. I'm sure that might take awhile. I'm looking forward to it. Ambiance:: Love Love Love the space. Exactly what's needed in Kaimuki. Love the different seating. The velvet half circle booths remind me of Old Vegas. Then the purple velvet stools are so cute. There's different seating which is nice. It makes a great happy hour place. Can't wait!
We stumbled upon this new establishment when another local coffee shop was out of beans! Sometimes the universe works in incredible ways! This was an AMAZING cup of coffee, and the aesthetics are lovely! Street parking available or a couple of free spots up a very steep ramp next to the shop. Aesthetics of the space were classy and elevated. The barista was incredibly friendly and even offered us complimentary truffles made by the in-house chocolatier!! The menu was minimal to start, but was perfect since we only wanted a few lattes. We were informed that they are beginning wine and chpagne service in the evenings soon! If you're looking for a coffee spot off the Waikiki beaten path, look no further than Fusion!
I've been to a lot of afternoon tea places both here and in San Francisco - I love afternoon tea! This place is a new favorite place for me here in Honolulu as it is the first place where I finished every morsel of lovely sandwiches and desserts. I could tell how much care was put into each piece, and the service was caring and personal and attentive without being too much. A friend and a new friend and I had a lovely time chatting and enjoying our drinks and food. I would definitely recommend this place. Love love love!
Food, atmosphere and service were amazing. Started off with a nice Chardonnay and the fried cheese with honey and apricots. Had the Fusion salad, Bao sliders, pasta and ribs for dinner. Saved room brownie pie and affogato. Everything was amazing.
The latest cafe to hit the Kaimuki cafe scene - I really enjoyed their pastries - the olive oil cake is amazing - I would definitely get that again (and it's gluten free!). The scones were pretty good too. Service was friendly, and there's a lot of seating. I am curious to see what kind of menu they'll have when they start their dinner service.
Tucked away on the third floor of the Ala Moana Hotel, right across from the pool deck, Fusion Cafe x DADA is one of those places you'd never stumble upon unless someone told you -- and once you know, you're glad you do. We stopped in during their happy hour from 3-5 PM, and it immediately stood out as an ideal after-work pau hana or easy date-night spot. The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully. The standout for us was the empanadas -- flaky, crisp pastry filled with tender braised beef and potato, finished with a bold aji rojo sauce that added just the right amount of depth and gentle heat. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. Charming ambiance [Honolulu HI] We came here by invite from Terry K and also had the pleasure of joining Therese and her hubby, Kevin. The cafe had a nice inviting feel that extended towards the back, the ambiance was dark and chic. The cafe was adorned with Halloween motif. We placed our orders at the counter which was towards the front section and our food were served at our table. I chose the Spinach Mushroom Goat Cheese Omelette and Lemonade for my drink. That homemade lemonade was so refreshing and delicious! Loved the delicious spinach and mushroom in my omelet. Hubby ordered a classic breakfast of Two Eggs w/ Bacon and Roasted Potatoes... wow! the bacon was crispy and yummy and just how I like my bacon cooked. He gave me 2-pieces, maybe because he saw me drooling over it LoL! but I'm telling you, Therese's Wagyu Cheeseburger on Brioche with French Fries looked mighty yummy too! Fun Fact- if I had to name one thing I like of Fusion Cafe is I love that it is Pacific Asian Female Owned and Run... High Tea'd here with Yelper Jolene. Brunched here with Yelper Therese (and the bonus was comaradarie with Yelper May A and JR from SMF). Both times delightful. Here are the skinnys 1, Street parking on Waialae or a few private parking stalls belonging to the Establishment. To get to those stalls, turn south on Waialae and go up the ramp. 2. Order at the counter. They will bring the order to you. 3. Gourmet coffee beans. Changes regularly so each day is a new flavor bean 4. Brewed and lattes made fresh so be prepared to WAIT 5. Wine and Champagne available for purchase. If you bring your own bottle, the corkage fee is $50 That's it for now folks! read more

Honestly this place IS SUCH A VIBE! An atmosphere you just have to see to believe- this is NY meets Kaimuki! All of the signature drinks have their own kind of flair. Each one deserves a sample once or twice or three times if you really like. The burrata salad and Bahn Mi on croissant are my favorite. But just like the drinks, every food item has a time and place. If you're looking for quite upscale get away this is right where you belong! read more
Wandered in here during my morning walk with the hub. Was pleased to see a large gorgeous modern space - couldn't even remember what used to be here. Greeted warmly by the proprietors and chose a seat close to the front so we could watch the action on Waialae. We ordered at the front and then sat down. Got our drinks first. Decided to try some of the food in the case - the ricotta quiche and breakfast sandwich. The quiche was not good - salty and not heated up sufficiently. The breakfast sandwich was good on a sweet bun like brioche. They seem to also have lunch food. I wonder when people drink wine bc it's open til 3 I think. Anyhow glad to have another cafe in the neighborhood with a distinctive feel that's different from talk or the curb or bean about town or daily whisk. Wow we are becoming a little enclave of cool little cafes! read more
Absolutely amazing interior design. Great place to chill and I love how posh and fancy it is. The drinks were great! Tried the cloud matcha and tiramisu mocha! Both were great, and I was able to try their Valentine's Day cheesecake pop-up with only 2 boxes left! This is definitely not a one-time visit, but a place that you will want to keep going back to. read more
I was able to get a reservation for the holiday high tea. There were good and bad points. The Peppermint mocha did not have Peppermint. The beet salad was excellent. I loved the deviled egg. The fig tart was so so. Instead of smoke salmon, chef changed it to a ham and cheese sandwich. Rather disappointing since I love smoked salmon. The crostini was good. We had an assortment of macaroons instead of the pumpkin on the menu. We had no idea the flavors. The pumpkin lie scone was extremely dry. There was no butter or clotted creme. The chocolate cake was also dry. The best item was the cheesecake. There was a blueberry topping. If you like fluffy cheesecake then you would like it. Parking... terrible. Ramp is very steep. Very little parking on the roof. It is a tight squeeze. No turn around. Need to maneuver to turn so you can go down the ramp head first. You are better off looking for street parking. This is the second time I've stopped by, my first time posting. The location is easy to find and inside the cafe is so nice. They have a beautiful mural on the left and overall a comfortable and easy going vibe in there. Today I got the charcuterie sandwich and heavenly matcha - together it's and interesting but pretty good pair. Separate the sandwich is pretty salty and the drink is on the sweeter side. Definitely get the sandwiches warmed up, it was very soft and made the cheese gooey. I would go again to try other foods, especially their evening menu since I have had breakfast/brunch twice now. The coffee and matcha is really good, even with the sweetness of the chai in the Heavenly Matcha. I would say overall it's cute and nice place to have a quick lunch or meet up with a friend. The service both times was really good! They are really nice and patient, since I took a minute to think about what to order. read more

Ordered the Heavenly Mocha and Tiger Chai both amazing drinks! They also blessed us with the Tiramisu Mocha to sample which was also great. All were beautiful as well. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwich it was delicious and only $8! We also tried the quiche, amazing and the olive oil cake cute a petite. The prices were decent for Hawaii. Came 10:00 am on Friday morning. I think they have a restaurant in the evening time too? But this is for their morning cafe review. Lots of space available and it's cold in here ( not sure if cause I sat near the vent) so I'd def bring a jacket next time. Lovely interior! Parking: meter parking on the street right outside. $1.50/hr at the time of this review. I think you can park free upstairs too but double check first. neighborhood parking available nearby for free if you want to walk 5-15 min though! Nice neighborhood to walk in with many other shops to see. Food/price: i think I overheard that they don't have decaf espresso so just a heads up! I got a cloud matcha and ricotta quiche of the day. It was good! Matcha was a bit pricy at $10 but it was a signature drink, and the small slice of warmed quiche was $5, but I'm in my treat myself era so I won't complain too much about the price. Their regular coffee/ lattes are on par with what cafe drinks are nowadays give or take a dollar. They have other pasteries in display case. Service: great service and food/drink came out quickly and barista was super nice. Overall would def come back and try their other signature drinks!! Fusion Café and Wine is located along Waialae a stone's throw away from The Local General Store. While there are a handful of stores nearby with similar concepts - they have their own style and niche to carve in to. We walked over from Dane's house with plans to sit in and savor a mellow morning. We were immediately greeted and drawn toward the case of food. We chose all three sandwiches: The Charcuterie, The Breakfast Sandwiches, and the Caprese. My favorite of them all is The Caprese, the classic flavors or tomato, balsamic, basil, and fresh mozzarella is always a solid choice. We opted for a couple of sweets: Ube Madeleines and the gluten-free Olive Oil Cake with Calamansi curd and chantilly. The Olive Oil cake was by far my favorite of the two. No knock on the Madeleines, they were good. But, the olive oil cake was moist with a fun texture reminiscent of corn bread - the curd and chantilly added some nice flavors. My only feedback is that I wanted more curd! Make it happen, please. We'd totally return. They're open from 8a-3p, Monday through Saturday. And we even found out that they'll be starting a dinner service soon. Plus they have Truffles! read more

Amazing!!! This place has great service, great food, and great ambiance. To top it off, dogs are allowed here. Any place that loves and allows dogs are high on my list. We had the afternoon tea and it was amazing with the champagne. Will definitely be coming back again with my fur baby. read more

We were ordering some pastries & saw this place a cross the street. So glad we came here for their lattes. We got tiramisu & ube lattes. There was so much love & care that was put into our lattes. Can taste the shots of espresso shots in the lattes. 1st day w/o my vintage coffee. Service was great. I would like to come back & have some wines & charcuterie next time. What a wonderful addition to the Kaimuki neighborhood. My husband and I enjoyed the Valentine's experience and had a wonderful four course dinner. Let me preface this by saying I eat very healthy. I do enjoy a dessert here and there but I prefer to keep my sugar with dessert not in dressings and sauces. The amazing chef left dressings off and prepared seafood by grilling. My husband had everything as generally prepared. We both had the best experience! The decor is really cute! Great for girls outing or date I highly recommend this adorable spot. read more

We went to tea yesterday. The service was excellent and the savory food was great. The sweets were hit and miss. One of the bon bons was odd-tasting and the scone was very dry. Just a bit of clotted cream or something would have been great. The coconut pineapple panna cotta was just not good. Hopefully it was just a me thing but it tasted very...fake in terms of flavors. The chocolate cake was the best dessert by far. read more

The menu was a little limited, however perfect for enjoying a nice wine! We were there early in the day without reservations and the service was still wonderful considering our group of 10 showed up unannounced. At the urging of my favorite epicure, I dined at FUSION café + wine with my wife on Friday. A relatively new addition to Waialae Ave's constellation of eateries, gm Malie Moran and head chef Rian Lee are soft launching dinner Thursday through Saturday. They offer free 2nd floor parking; entrance just Ewa of the restaurant off Waialae. Ambience is dark, NY chic with a wine bar motif replete with artful wall displays of corks and a striking table centerpiece. I started with a delightful Ancient Peaks Cab while my wife enjoyed the unique Moscato Sunrise, a twin-layered aperitif of amber Moscato and plum Pinot. For our appetizer we savored the grilled octopus with Kamuela tomato, watercress, arugula, and sweet pickled onion. I marveled at the freshness and flavor of the tomatoes and greens. Octopus was fork tender, drizzled in olive oil with a squeeze of fresh lemon. My preference is charred on all sides. For our entrée, my wife loved the fresh pappardelle pasta, handmade right next door at Onda Pasta, with wild (Shimeji?) mushrooms, sauteed with slightly spiced serrano and sour verjus. I enjoyed the balsamic and demi glazed pork ribs, reminiscent of the spice-and-vinegar style of North Carolina. Dessert was a delicious affogato with the most flavorful espresso in recent memory. Our exceptional server Nevaeh - that's "heaven" backwards - was attentive, charming, and quite knowledgeable. Pricing is moderate. Highly recommend giving FUSION a try. Who knows? A gem in Kaimuki. Came for an afternoon coffee. One of the new spots in the neighborhood open into the late afternoon for some caffeine. Lots of seating. Parking area on the second floor near Plantoem. Chill vibes. Nice staff. Free WiFi so you can work. Clean bathrooms. Would be great for a relaxed business meeting or hangout with friends. The tiger chai latte was delicious and the blueberry scone was super yummy. Will definitely be back! read more
