Craved garlic shrimp and not quite Giovanni's but hit the spot. The tuna pole was decent, servers friendly and the pigeons are a bit aggressive. More of a place to pick up food and take to the beach. Convenient location in Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Walked right up and ordered food and were given a table immediately. The bbq chicken plate was amazing with a pineapple salsa on top! BBQ ribs were equally as delicious. Slice of pineapple on the plate was fresh and sweet! Portions were big and we ended up bringing home leftovers which is always a plus. Nice outdoor seating in the shopping center which was nice and cozy.

BWS is conveniently located inside Hawaiian Village where we are staying. Ordered online, picked up in about 20 min. One order of Opakpaka-- overcooked the delicate pink snapper...had perfectly cooked ones in Merrimans, so dried out not even sure if it's opakapaka fish? $1 for tiny 1/2 filled tartar sauce. Hubs had the Brazilian lobster tail-- he said it's not rubbery or chewy. Better stick with a more forgiving thicker fish filet like mahi-mahi or salmon. The shrimps look ok too. Their pineapple and coconut drinks are on most tables...we'll dine on site next time.

Found a true hidden gem. The menu offers a great variety of Hawaiian dishes, and we were in the mood for a burger. Hands down, it was the best burger we've had in Hawaii. I can't wait to try their loco moco and steak garlic shrimp next time. This place is such a vibe. Fresh pineapples everywhere, friendly smiles, and shaded outdoor seating tucked away in the alley behind the Hilton. Service was excellent. We ordered at the counter and assumed it was self-serve, but once we sat down they brought water and silverware, and our food was delivered straight to our table. We'll absolutely be back. This is now a must-visit every time we come to Hawaii.

After traveling all day, my son and I didn't feel like venturing too far out of our hotel or driving anywhere for dinner. I wanted seafood and saw that Blue Water Shrimp was in the village just steps from our hotel. The restaurant was super busy and all the tables were taken, so we decided to get takeout. We were greeted as soon as we got to the counter and ordered the grilled mahi mahi, $25 from the gluten-free menu for me and the BBQ pork ribs, $24 for my son. We walked around the village while waiting for the food. Our buzzer buzzed in about 15-20 minutes alerting us that our food was ready. We took our food and headed back to our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the portions. They were a good size, especially for the prices. Even though they were to-go, the presentation was still nice. My son enjoyed his pork ribs, they seemed to fall off the bone. My grilled mahi mahi tasted fresh, but lacked flavor. I still are every bit of it, though. Both of our entrees came with a side of rice and small salad.

BWS is conveniently located in the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We got the garlic shrimp to share. Each plate comes with corn, rice, and salad. The corn really tastes like canned corn... However, the shrimp is pretty good. Garlicy and creamy/buttery. Service is really quick, they take your order at the counter and then will find you a seat. Taking one star off as I feel like the menu prices are quite steep... I think our place was close to $30 after tax and tip which is a lot. Their pineapple fruit and smoothies look super tasty but also run $10-15 which is kinda a lot. All good though, great option if you're staying in the village.

Blue Water Shrimp was our first stop after landing in Hawaii. Originally we were going to eat here, but it was packed so we opted for to go. No biggie since our hotel, Hilton Hawaiian Village, was walking distance. We ordered the coconut shrimp, scallops, and BBQ chicken (kids meal). All the food hit the spot. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the rice paired really well with the main courses. We devoured everything and our stomachs were very happy that night.

A true hidden gem! We make it a point to visit every time we're in Hawaii. It's always busy, which speaks to its popularity, but the food and generous portion sizes make it well worth the wait. The steak and shrimp were absolutely delicious. If you're visiting Oahu, this is a must-try spot at least once. The combination of quality, quantity, and value is hard to beat in Waikiki. We always look forward to coming back!

Stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village where this restaurant is located, and it was a great find to get seafood for a very fair price. It's a fast casual establishment, where you order at the counter and they bring it out to you. Very cozy spot with outdoor tables for you to enjoy your food, and the food is fresh and delicious! I got the surf and turf was not disappointed. Their service is also great and flexible--a friend changed his side from salad to fries, and they did it without an issue (also not a listed option as a side either!) They also have fresh coconut as a drink!

Blue Water Shrimp was our first stop after a grueling 8 hour flight, and I am happy to say that we 100% choose the right restaurant to bring us back to life. I'd never had Hawaiian food prior to this and authetic or not - this place was DELICIOUS. UGH. So good. It's not fancy or high-end, but the humble ingredients boast of color, aroma, and most importantly: flavor. Just look at the dishes - they are beautiful and taste just as good as they look. In the spirit of being on vacation in Hawaii, of course we had to order pineapple smoothies as well. They literally carve out a pineapple, blend the meat and serve it back in the pinepple. Another nail on the head. Super refreshing, very sweet, all natural. This restarant was also conveniently located on our hotel grounds: the Hilton Hawaii Village. Check, check, check. This was a great way to start off our vaction and remains one of my favorite restaurants we made it to on Oahu.

Oh. My. Goodness. Probably my favorite meal we had while in Oahu! It was my first ever loco moco and I was not disappointed. The generous portion sizes made the prices so worth it!! My sister was in love with the garlic butter shrimp. Great local atmosphere and the pineapple smoothie was everything you want when you come to Hawaii. they literally cut open a pineapple and put it inside. DELISH! Sweet potato fries were the perfect addition. Service was fast and friendly. 100% recommend!

This little hole in the wall is amazing. Went here during both of my trips to Honolulu while staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Both times we were so satisfied from the ordering, to the presentation of the plates (great portions) to the taste!! Every dish looks absolutely amazing and everyone that I have had is just that!

Do you charge to the HHV room account?

Hi i don't think they do. However, I suggest contacting the restaurant to confirm. Enjoy!

    Gluten free options?

Skip the rice and replace w salad w your protein. Enjoy!

    Do they have lobster roll?

    No, they do not.

Is here BYOB? How much is the carry on fee?

    No you can't BYOB

Do we need reservations for 6 people?

It's wasn't that kind of restaurant. You order at the window and sit at tables outside. If they are all taken you wait. That's how it was in May.

Can you see the Friday night fireworks from this restaurant?

No, it's location is down a side alley in the Hawaiian Village and fireworks are behind

    Do they take reservations?

I was there a couple months ago and they said first come first served. But it didn't take very long to get a seat.

Looking for a good seafood restaurant in Waikiki.Any recommendations?

Definitely recommend the Blue Water Shrimp & Seafood. One of the cheapest in town - very relaxed dining outside - really fresh seafood - and you can bring along your own bottle of wine?

Do you have a current menu I could peruse through please?

They have a menu on their website. They have combo meals with steak and fish/shrimp or a single meal with shrimp, fish, steak or poke.

And we just can't go here anymore unless changes are made! We used to prefer them over Zippy's, but now they are less than 7-Eleven quality, while charging higher-end prices for the neighborhood. We have given them many chances, hoping it was just a fluke, but we have repeatedly been disappointed. Their chicken has become chewy and fatty, their rice is mediocre, and condiments such as mayonnaise are stripped down to the bare minimum quantity. Chile is poured so lightly that it is practically a minuscule amount. And their prices have continued to rise. I don't know if greedy people took over the restaurant who just don't care anymore, or what is going on. I remember when I used to take people here, and they would be impressed with the quality and quantity--plates just heaping with good cuts of meat, noodles, and rice. Those days are no more. As they say in Japan, the price performance is poor. Furthermore, their staff is rude. I can only imagine it was an owner working this day because it was a face I haven't seen that often. An older gentleman who appeared to be of Okinawan descent, working the cashier register, accosted us because I was privately discussing with my family about splitting different items with them. We were all ordering something, so he wasn't losing any money, but he told us about how prices are double in Waikīkī. First of all, it is rude to interrupt your customers that way. Secondly, we don't go to Waikīkī or care about Waikīkī. What happened to serving the locals? Third, Waikīkī has an assortment of restaurants, prices, and qualities, and they shouldn't be how you base your services. Lastly, I guarantee I could find a better deal in Waikīkī if I wanted to. Next time you're in the area, just go get a $6 bento or a $5 burrito from 7-Eleven next door. I assure you, the price performance and experience will be better. If Rainbow Drive-In is in the business of comparing themselves to other things, let's compare them to 7-Eleven and at least try to be better than them, right? I can get mochiko chicken from 7-Eleven for $6.99 that is similar in portion size and better quality. Meanwhile, they are serving their fatty, dry chicken for $16.75. Highway robbery! And they are not fancy, with their dirty picnic tables and plastic cutlery. They are just a step above a food truck, if that. Save yourself from the hype. They have gone downhill like a landslide. Go elsewhere.

The staff was super nice about it and was able to accommodate us, with only a small request that we be out by 8pm since there was another big party with a reservation coming in. Absolutely reasonable. They sat us right away at three large tables, which gave us plenty of space for food and didn't force us to sit super close together. Menus, waters, plates, napkins, and forks were all brought out immediately, and our waiter was quick to take our order. We started with the prix fixe menu for 8-10 guests and were going to add other items à la carte, but a handful of our group accidentally went to the other Side Street location (make sure your group is all on the same page), so what we ordered ended up being more than enough. We left stuffed and with 5 boxes of food still. Edamame was nice and steamy, and large enough to easily pop the beans out with your mouth. Wish there was a bit more salt though. The farmer's salad had everything going on from citrusy to salty to crispy. Avocado had a little bit of oxidation but the capers, dressing and potato curls provided plenty of reasons to overlook it. The fried rice came in a hefty portion, with sizable pieces of bacon and sausage. The chicken I didn't realize was boneless based on the shape of the deep fry, but it was nice to freely bite into it without worrying about hitting anything with my teeth. Probably a bit too much on fried bits but still good. Pork chops had a better meat to crisp ratio in my opinion, as well as juiciness. They even came with ketchup on the side, which I love as a pairing but don't see much of at restaurants. My favorite meat item was definitely the sizzling boneless kalbi. The presentation on the sizzling plate with a side of kimchi was spectacular, and the meat was full of flavor. We also ordered yakisoba, which wasn't part of the prix fixe. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.

The owner was very friendly and took the time to recommend dishes for us, including the laulau and lechon kawali. We also ordered the BBQ short ribs. Overall, it was a good experience trying Hawaiian food, but it's just not really our type of cuisine. The laulau was quite dry, and the preparation felt more like meat that had been boiled or cooked in liquid, which isn't something I usually enjoy. The lechon kawali had a crispy pork belly texture, topped with something similar to a salsa, but it didn't suit our taste either. Unfortunately, the cabbage served with it also had some black spots, which was off-putting. The BBQ short ribs were the highlight of the meal and the dish we enjoyed the most. We appreciate the experience and the hospitality, but the flavors just didn't quite match our personal preferences.

Either the owner or the manager seemed like a one man show. He was the server, bus boy, and chef. Husband got the pipikalua short ribs/he enjoyed. Sisters got the pork lau lau which came with sweet potato, rice or poi, lomi lomi salmon (more onion and tomato than salmon). i got the chicken lau lau, again stuffed with chicken, not enough taro leaves. The Haupia was smoky, so either burnt or something- inedible! Only six tables in the entire restaurant. The gentleman that was serving us I believe was also the bus boy, cook, server and cashier! Place is a hole in the wall with missing ceiling tiles and exposed panels above our table (gross!!). Sis loves this dive so we keep coming back!
