    Bday dinner 11/24/25
    Angie R.

I came here in November 2025 with a good friend to celebrate my birthday, and honestly...this was a moment. From the start, the staff was lovely and welcoming. We had great conversations throughout the night, and although I don't remember our server's name, she was absolutely amazing and really made the experience feel special. I ordered the vegan primavera and it was delicious. The portion was huge (no complaints there), and I had leftovers that were just as good later. Always a win. My friend said her coconut shrimp was very tasty, and her piña colada did what it needed to do. I kept it simple with a gin and tonic. Cant go wrong there. The view, my goodness....just watching the sunset on the beach while enjoying a good meal and live entertainment plus company is life!!! Overall, this is easily one of the best spots we've been to and totally up there with Duke's. Planning on returning in November 2026!!!!

Loved everything about this restaurant. The ambiance is just fantastic and you can't compete with the sunset view. Had the tuna stack and watermelon salad and both were divine. Had a lychee martini and a rye tai that were both exquisite. The catch of the day over coconut rice was superb and my wife loved the snapper. Sensational service as well. Validated valet parking at the hotel below the restaurant.

I was staying at the hotel across the street when my group decided to go have drinks and appetizers, we ventured out to Tikis. We didn't have reservations we found out that there was a big line so we decided to go to the bar and you can order from the bar and then have a seat at a table. The drinks were a bit pricier than are at our hotel. Average price was $24 for a drink while we did order some drinks. They were not very strong, very weak more fruity than alcohol.. Atmosphere was fun, but we decided to go back to our hotel which was around $14 for a mai tai.

Great spot for dinner and sunset Butterfly martini and the sunset

My wife and I had a great lunch here. We were seated on the balcony but back far enough that we had great shade while enjoying the ocean view. Service was fantastic, as was the food. I had the Catch of the Day fish sandwich. It was a great slab of fish with tasty sauce and fresh lettuce and tomato. My wife had the Thai Chicken Salad, which was a massive pile of food with bursts of fresh flavors from all the veggies. Definitely recommended!

If I could rate a 4.5 l would. The restaurant is located further down the beach toward Diamond Head and the Zoo. It's a quick walk from central Waikiki. The restaurant is on the third floor of a hotel right across the street from the beach. It's a great location. Even at lunch they had live music. Fun atmosphere for sure! The staff was friendly and efficient. Our server took the time to chat with us - you can tell he really enjoyed learning a little about the people at his tables. And now for the food and drink. I started with a mocktail - the Li Hing Mui Pineapple Colada. It was perfect for a warm day looking at the water. We had the Island Watermelon Salad - it was refreshing and very tasty. I had the Kalua Pig Quesadilla. I hit the jackpot! The tortilla was made with Ube and the homemade Kalua pig with jack cheese all made it amazing. Corn and tomato salsa, sour cream and guacamole rounded it out. Sounds like a five star review so far, right? It would have been, but my husband's sandwich, the smoked marlin melt missed the mark. He ended up eating some of my quesadilla (which he loved). I do have to say, his sandwich came with fries I have never seen before! They were curly steak fries. Yes, big thick curls of yumminess (if you like steak fries). We will definitely be back when we travel to Waikiki.

Food: A. From the complimentary egg roll at the beginning in the fancy drink bar section to the interesting shaped fries and outstanding creative drinks - this place is one to remember. Everything we ate and drank was top notch! Service: A. Our bartender at the standard bar made an extra effort to come all the way across over to the other side of the bar to take our orders and serve us. I was really impressed by this! The guys in the fancy drinks bar make drink ordering entertainment! Ambiance: A. This place is almost always packed because it is the unique cultural experience. We loved the special X-mas themed bar during the holidays. The LIVE music is one of many entertaining views in this hot spot! Dietitian Dorothy's pro nutrition tip: Order the special blue MONSTER MAKO with take-home glass. This is one of those purchases where you are reminded how special this purchase was day-after-day. The glass it comes in makes the best high-quality water drinking glass for months to come - making it nostalgic to stay hydrated!

Really great service and the food was delicious. Kids meals were simple and their screaming was drowned out in the chaos of the crowd . We had the Pacific red snapper and ube and venison bolognese. Added to our list of good for kids restaurants in town.

Food, ambience, service were all absolutely amazing! I was facing the ocean around sunset, so you can't beat the ambience~ great music, ocean, sunset~ Tui was very friendly and attentive. 1944 Mai Tai was delicious. You get a free cup if you order the drink. I mean... it was strong but it was very delicious. I'm definitely coming back for the Mai Tai and service, plus food. Ask for Tui, he's awesome!!

We had dinner tonight at Tiki's Grill & Bar in Waikiki Beach Honolulu Hawaii. This is a fantastic restaurant with great food and live music being played at night. The view from this 3rd floor restaurant is amazing. The atmosphere is incredible and we had a great time here. Getting a table can be an issue because they are very popular but we were able to grab a couple of seats in the Lava Bar. It's the less busy bar of the two but we were able to hear the live music being played but our conversation was not drowned out by the volume, a total WIN-WIN for us! We had a big lunch together Duke's this afternoon so we decided to just order a couple of Pupus (appetizers) to sate our appetite. The Brussel Sprouts were delicious and perfectly cooked. We also had some Venison Gyoza which was surprisingly tasty. My Wife doesn't like venison at all and she really enjoyed it after a little coaxing to get her to try it. It was extremely well balanced and not gamey, as venison usually tastes that way. The Prime Rib Poke was really good, unfortunately there was a lot of pipikula aioli on top and my Wife doesn't like aioli but she tried it and she okay with it. Admittedly, I tried my best to clear off the aioli before she tried it and that may have helped. Overall this was a great experience here, this is definitely a great place to visit! 4.5 Stars, rounded up to 5!

I love their Christmas bar, this is the second year in a row that we've come to their event. The bartenders are super fun and friendly. And the drinks are cute and yummy. The room is filled with every Christmas ornament on the island from ceiling to floor. It is absolutely adorable. There was a long line to get in when we first came last night. But we went around 11 and there was plenty of room. They do close at midnight. There's no fee to get in you just need to buy some drinks. And they have valet parking at the hotel, Just get your receipt stamped. This place also has yummy food and I love their Tiki mugs. They are hot spot for parades because they are on the strip of Waikiki. It's always a fun place where you come day or night.

Wasn't worth it. I was deciding between this and other places and severely regret my choice. I chose this place for my birthday dinner as well. Very sad and worst birthday dinner ever. Food wasn't even that good, and the prices were outrageous. Highly recommend anywhere else. I would've rather eaten at an ABC store or some random convenience store than this place.

We celebrated our Thanksgiving dinner at this place. It is also our daughter's bday and our post anniversary celebration (again). If you are looking for good food, hang around for an hour or two while enjoying. Waikiki beach view and good food,... this is a place I will recommend. They even have live band music at night. The food portion is generous but doesn't compromise the taste. Price is very reasonable... my grandson had steak for $39 only. We also had their cocktail drinks with souvenir glass. Their service is awesome. I called in tej day before to request a table at the edge for best view of the beach and they did try their best to seat us there. Overall experience for food taste, price, service and place is will give this 4.8.

The moody speakeasy vibe was cool and our server was friendly, but the problem is nothing on the menu is very appealing or affordable. I decided to gamble on the 3 taco flight. Mexican food in Hawaii is always a gamble, but these were the worst tacos I've ever had in my life. They were comically small and, unfortunately, quite disgusting. Especially the tortilla, which was made from ulu and tasted like oily construction paper. The presentation was pretty underwhelming as well and did not include any salsa or hot sauce. When asked, the server offered Tabasco. Really?! But the real crime was the $27 price tag. We're all used to Hawaii prices, but come on. How can you charge NINE DOLLARS per tiny taco with a straight face? The drinks I had were ok, but nothing super memorable. Loved the vibe and I could see this place really popping off if they overhauled the menu. Until then, it's a pass for me.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

Had such a great experience at R38. This speakeasy has such a cool atmosphere. The vibe feels…read moreintimate and trendy and it's the perfect spot for drinks and small bites. Definitely make a reservation because it gets busy fast, especially later in the night. The food was surprisingly affordable for the quality and everything we tried was delicious. We got the chicken karaage, beef takoyaki, and the taro chips with mascarpone and all of it was amazing. The chicken karaage was flavorful, the beef takoyaki was tasty, and the taro chips with mascarpone were nicely paired with the drinks. Drinks, food, atmosphere, and service were all on point. One of my favorite spots I visited and I'd absolutely come back again.

The owner is Steve Aoki, of Aoki Group, and son of daredevil and entrepreneur, Rocky Aoki. The staff were super nice. The brunette (Ellie?) working Sat, 4/25 was super friendly, and worked her ass off. The Azn fellow who also took care of us let us look at the bottles of special bourbon we drank: Four Roses & Blantons both tr the Aoki Collection. Regarding the ambiance its whimsical inside. I didn't look on the lanai, but I understand you can smoke cigars out there. The background music was jazz and the occasional Motown hit (Stylistics). My cuz who lives in Kaimukī has neva been to RM 38. I promised to add him to the res next time. Its a lot easier to get in vs another speakeasy in Chinatown, and its walking distance from where I always stay at the Moana.
