Our son is a Senior at University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and this is the first time we visited Sky Waikiki in Honolulu. Our overall impression and experience was very positive. Definitely a "Las Vegas" feel and vibe. Our server JP was exceptional as was the live entertainment singer we were sitting next too during our dining. The unique cusine from delicious ly creative sushi, seafood, chicken was excellent! We will be back for sure around graduation time in May 2027! Lol what's the point of making reservations if you're just going to throw us into a waiting room? :/ A bit disappointed with this experience. We made a 6:30 reservation specifically so we could catch the sunset, but we weren't actually helped until 6:55. By then, it was already dark, so we completely missed it. I was previously able to attend the Yelp Elite event at Sky Waikiki and wanted to return to check out their dining and drink options. From the moment we arrived and checked in with the hostess to when we left service was great. Originally we wanted to just do a drink or two at the bar but the manager advised he could get us a table and we could maybe partake in some food as well. We were promptly sat and our server quickly came over to get our drink order for our first round and gave us a moment to check out their food options. Knowing we would be having dinner elsewhere I did still want to try their Diamond Head Ahi Rice Cakes and the Japanese Style Oyster. Both were really good. Drinks were made quickly and were delicious, I specifically got the After Hours cocktail and also tried their Ketel One Espresso Martini. Musician Freddy Leone was playing for part of the night and he was a great addition to the vibe that the rooftop bar/restaurant offers. He was a great performer. Decided to give Sky Bar a try for happy hour, and it was a great spot for a cocktail or two. It wasn't busy, so we were seated quickly at a table right along the edge with a beautiful view. The table was a little small for everything we ordered, but it worked. The drinks were good, and the service was fast and attentive. The oysters, however, were disappointing and not something I'd order again. Overall, I wouldn't come here for the food--there are much better options nearby. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a couple of cocktails with a great view before dinner, I'd definitely recommend it. Sometimes the best meals are the ones you weren't planning on. My wife and I were at a Yelp Elite event at SKY Waikiki when Manny, the manager, shared one of the restaurant's deals everyone should know about--their 32 oz Porterhouse Steak for Two. He explained that after his time managing Wolfgang Puck, he wanted to create a steak dinner that delivered premium quality without the premium Waikiki price tag. Talk about a great decision. From the moment we were seated, we had front-row seats to one of the most beautiful evenings in Waikiki. We had dined at the spinning restaurant numerous times (no longer in commission). Sitting there with my beautiful wife, enjoying the view, it was one of those nights you wish could last a little longer. Now let's talk about that steak. The 32 oz dry-aged Porterhouse for Two was cooked perfectly (we like ours Medium Rare) with an incredible crust while staying tender and juicy inside. It's more than enough for two people to share and, at $130, is one of the best steak values you'll find in Waikiki. They cut it up pupu style, and it was so easy to enjoy. We paired it with the Marsala cremini mushrooms, which complemented the steak perfectly. To top it all off, Manny surprised us with brûlée cheesecake. It was completely unexpected and such a thoughtful gesture that made an already memorable evening even better. The service was attentive, friendly, and never rushed. Between the panoramic rooftop views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach, the live music, the incredible steak, and the hospitality, this turned into one of our favorite dinners in Waikiki. Locals make this your spot for a date night, to enjoy happy hour, or a celebration. Visitors, this is a must-stop on your places to try while you are on the island. A must do if you're in Waikiki! Super nice rooftop bar with beautiful drinks and tables, couches, etc. There is a paid parking garage at Waikiki Shopping that takes you all the way up to Sky Waikiki on the 18th floor! You can see the views in the bathroom and on the elevators! There is even a cool sushi spot right next door. The drinks were the perfect amount of alcohol. Not too much, not too little. TEA TIME: I called around 6pm and asked if they could accommodate a party of 16, since their online reservation system wouldn't allow booking for more than 12 people. I acknowledged that it was very last minute and understood that there was a high probability they wouldn't be able to at such short notice. However, the woman who answered the phone said it would be no problem, but that we would be seated indoors and not on the sky deck. That was perfectly fine for us! We showed up at 7:30pm, and the sweet and welcoming hostess, Tai (we love her), walked us into what we thought was a private room. It was actually a karaoke room with table settings that were so crowded together on a series of small tables; there wasn't nearly enough table space to accommodate all of us. Additionally, the tables were so far away from the booths that it was actually ridiculous that they expected us to eat like that. We asked Tai if there was any way she could add a few tables and chairs and informed us that she actually had space on the terrace. Yay? She walked us outside and brought us to literally the smallest, shortest table/corner booth I have ever seen. They expected 16 grown women to fit there? After raising concerns, THEN they told us we would have to split our party into two tables. Now we're annoyed. Why would u say over the phone that you accommodate our party when they CLEARLY could not? We ended up squeezing 12 of us into the booth and 4 of us had a separate table. Thankfully, they had great service and truly enjoyed their meal. I wish we could say the same. The 12 of us decided to order a bunch of items and share them family style. Since we were all sharing, our waitress, Anna R, offered to bring us extra plates. A few moments later, she arrives with the plates and says, "the plates are kinda big, so I brought you guys 8 of them." She actually only brought 7. Why would you bring us 7 plates for 12 people?? Did she expect us to share plates??? The math is not mathing. She comes back to take our drink orders. We tell her that we're actually just gonna do a round of tequila shots. Tell me why she goes, "OH THANK GOD" as if in relief, implying that if we each individually ordered different cocktails it would be an inconvenience. Like??? It was very condescending. Anyways... we ordered 5 tequila blanco, 5 reposado, and 1 Hennessy shot, and happily expressed that we wanted them CHILLED. She comes back, not even a minute later, and says she forgot whether or not we wanted it chilled. Eye roll LMAO At this point, we wanted to leave. Unfortunately for us, the food started to come out already. To say the food was mid is an understatement. Luckily, the other 4 members of our party at the separate table enjoyed their meal! As our meal was coming to an end, we asked Anna if she could help us clear our table. She looks at us and says, "gimme one second" very rudely. Like GOD FORBID we ask our waitress for help LOL The one star I'm giving this review is solely for the hostess Tai and whichever bartender served our shots. Otherwise, I would give 0 stars. **This is a review for the experience, it is not for the food. My friend wanted to go to SKY for her birthday, so I made a reservation for sunset. After reading the reviews, I opted for drinks and apps, and booked dinner elsewhere. Our table had a nice view, though to take a photo with the sunset, there is only a small corner where this can be done. Our service was good, and the drinks came out quickly. Made a dinner reservations an entire month before we arrived for my birthday and our husband and I's honeymoon and they sat us in the back of the restaurant/side where our view was quite literally the parking lot of another hotel. When asked if we could move we were told by the hostess that the tables near the glass with the view is first come first serve. We didn't stay because why spend those prices to be sat with the view of a parking lot. Such a bummer that this was our experience given this was one meal we were looking forward too. The wings were okay, it wasn't what I expected. Not a lot of seasoning, bland and no dipping sauce. The truffle fries lived up to their name. Crispy, nicely plated and a nice blend of cheese. I really don't know what to say about their Mai Tai. It wasn't the best Mai Tai and it wasn't the worst. It was on the sweeter side but it was okay. The spicy margarita was so good my friend said she wanted to bathe in it! LOL The fries were good. The poke nachos, wow! I would have liked bigger pieces of ahi but still the bomb. Sushi roll was ok. My only complaint- and I think this is totally fixable for them, you have to have a reservation..... we sat down and she asked us to move because it was reserved. There isn't much seating. First, I've seen some amazing photos taken at night from Sky, so I was looking forward to some scenic night views and Sky's rooftop dining experience from 6pm to 8pm (with reservation) did not disappoint. That was worth 5 stars as was the service from the employees. We too sat on the parking lot side (west side I believe) but, by the glass wall, we could easily see the sun settings, the beaches, the water, the buildings - it was still a nice view for us, but there are tables that go further back to the north that might have more parking garage views that we had, so maybe our location was pretty good for us. Sadly, I could not give 5 stars as there were some other issues that detracted from the overall experience.. First, we ended up with chairs at the table, which was fine - a table should come with chairs, but I'm a bit hefty, so the chairs were not comfortable for me. The wrap around chairs were built for small hipped folks, and a bit embarrassing when I went to stand up and had to shed the chair like a pair of pants. Second, like myself, the food price was pretty hefty. I ordered a Caesar salad with chicken (a la carte) and when I also asked for the shrimp (a la carte) was asked how man I would like - and I replied whatever the standard amount that comes with it for $6 shrimp add-on cost would be fine. I was shocked to find out that for the $6 shrimp add-on, that was PER SHRIMP, so I just ordered one. I was expecting some huge shrimp, but all I got was one normally sized large or jumbo shrimp. Third, the food quality was meh. That $6 shrimp I ordered on my Caesar salad was soggy. It didn't smell or taste bad and wasn't spoiled, but it was not what I would have expected. The Caesar Salad was good, but the others in my group ordered salmon which all of them felt was overcooked/too blackened on the outside. For 5 people, we spent about $300 with tip, one alcohol drink, three mocktails plus the 3 salmons, Caesar Salad, Poke dish, and 3 soda waters. Fourth, they had some live musician strumming his guitar, occasionally playing some 80s, 90s, and 2000's songs, but bastardizing them. It wasn't a Hawaiian feel, it was more like they were trying to copy the musical fusion of PF Changs. I was not impressed and mildly annoyed by the song choices and renditions of the artist. I would have preferred more local Hawaiian music, just as when I go to the Caribbean, I liked to hear steel drum music. Bottom line - go here for the roof top views, but eat before you go to save money ordering overpriced, medium quality food. I do not mean any disrespect to Sky's chef's or owners - these are just my personal opinions - couldn't say I could do better, but since I'm the one paying, I would expect better than what I could make myself. read more

I heard somewhere " If your favorite club is SKY Waikiki, you're a baddie" and while I can't attest if that is fact, I can attest that SKY Waikiki is the best rooftop spot and has an awesome upscale vibe. The views are immaculate from the ocean to the mountains and the city in-between. Located on Kalakaua, I'd suggest parking in either the Waikiki Business Plaza parking garage (I believe you can search that up in your GPS maps) or the Waikiki Shopping Plaza parking garage across the street. Located on the 19th floor, you'll take an elevator and then an escalator up. They have multiple elevators so there's never really a long wait to get upstairs (one of my pet peeves is having to wait long for an elevator, just for that elevator to be too packed). Happy hour is everyday from 4-5pm! From their raw bar, you can get $2 oysters or jaz it up with ponzu, spicy daikon radish, yuzu, green onions for $4. Be sure to check out their poke! Ahi, hamachi salmon, and even beef poke! One of my friends doesn't eat fish but loves beef sushi/ poke from here. The service here is really attentive and friendly. They even have a bathroom attendant that is always so sweet, such a nice and classy touch. SKY Waikiki always has a cool lineup of live music - every time I come in there's either a DJ or live musicians playing local music. If you're looking for a great view for drinks and food, especially for sunset- I recommend this spot. read more
