Great poke bowl place located in Waikiki! I love their salmon aburi Mac nut bowl! Originally tried them at the Kakaako Farmers Market but finally made it to their store front! Small hole in the wall but with a variety of menu options. I've only tried one poke bowl so far but it does not disappoint! I was unsure at first if I would like it with the Mac nuts but the extra crunch it adds pairs well with the salmon!
I got the Macadamia Aburi Salmon and it was a good portion for me. There's a good amount of toppings on top so lots of flavors and textures going on. I loved the Macadamia nuts since it gave a satisfying crunch with the salmon. The salmon was fresh and slightly torched on top. Since there were a lot of textures, I couldn't really taste the salmon but it was really good.
I literally ate here 4 out of the 5 days I was in Hawaii. I loved the flavors of this poke bowl so much. I ordered the Spicy Limu Hawaiian and it had just the right amount of seafood and green onion on top and I tore it up every single time. It's the perfect portion and the fish always tasted so fresh. I miss this bowl so much.
A little tiny shop that has a table and 2 chairs outside. Soft drink selection. So good and no frills. Will have to come back for the Macadamia Aburi Salmon!
Fast service with a rake out window type set up. I went during off hours so there was no line either time I went and I was able to use the one small table they had out front. This was my favorite poke in Oahu, but I ordered the same thing twice and the second time they forgot to add the spicy mayo which should have been included. It was still delicious but just a small nick in terms of attention to detail especially since I was there when they first opened so it wasn't busy. Highly recommend for a grab and go option!

First poke of the trip! Pretty good. Got 1/4 lb each My sis and I like the wasi sabi wasabi flavor best. The spicy mahi mahi was good too. We both liked the ahi tuna over the salmon, which is surprising since my sis is more of a salmon fan. My brother also got the yuzu miso ahi bowl, but that one was a little bit fishy. I've had a lot of poke in my life, but nothing compared to this place! Ono was closed so my friends and I were looking for an alternative, and were intrigued by their "Hawaiian Munchies" bowl. They have so many different options, and even hand rolls too! I got the Hawaiian munchies bowl but with salmon instead of tuna. I've never had salmon poke like this, the fish was so bouncy and fresh I ate the entire bowl in under 15 mins. It was the best first meal of the trip!! I highly recommend, the worker was also very friendly and patient with us as we were indecisive.

Close to hotels and pretty good poke, although it cost twice what it does in local area of town and not as fresh. There were only two workers so it took a long time to get the food and seating was limited. Limited space inside and so had to line up outside to order and wait 15 to 20 minutes even during non-peak hours. Portions were good and spice level on Spicy Sato was very good. Every extra has a charge from 50 cents for soy sauce to the same for a bag.
When we wanted a delicious and fast dinner one night, my husband and I landed here and while it's a take-out restaurant we were able to sit just outside and eat after ordering at the counter. The service was friendly and fast. The place doesn't look like much but the food is quite tasty with a range of options. We ordered shrimp tempura and a spicy poke and both were delicious. The rice wasn't as hot as we like but it didn't detract from the meal. It's on a busy street so ideally picking up from here and going in a picnic would be great. Or taking it home of course. The vibe is casual and the dishes are fresh.
We landed in Hawaii and were feeling like a snack before we had reservations at happy hour elsewhere and stumbled across this gem. We tried the spicy ahi, shrimp, yuzu ahi hand rolls and they were all packed with flavor our favorite might've been the shrimp and yuzu ahi hand rolls. Definitely recommend if in the area.
HOURS (5/5): Open EVERYDAY from 7:30am - 8:30pm! On the Main Street KUHIO AVE. AMBIANCE (3/5): It's a fast casual restaurant. Literally only big enough to order and 2 small tables outside to wait for your food or eat at if you want. FOOD (5/5): This was probably my FAVORITE poke bowl of the trip. I'm a toppings and saucy person, so you can add as much or as little as you want. They had some very unique dishes with MACADAMIA NUTS and TORCHED SALMON. Absolutely amazing! I highly recommend this place. $25 MACADAMIA ABURI SALMON (+add ginger, ikura, fried garlic): this is their most popular dish! I can see why, it's SO GOOD! I'd def make this a regular spot to visit on my trips here. OVERALL ( 4/5): This place is quick and to the point with AMAZING food & prices comparable to everywhere else but far better quality.

A small hole in the wall spot with just 2 small tables with seating outdoors so you know it's going to be good! We got the spicy limu Hawaiian and the Wabi Sabi wasabi bowls with salmon. The spicy limu wasn't spicy at all, next time we would ask them to add more spice to it if possible! The wasabi bowl had a kick that we were looking for. Most importantly, it was fresh and delicious! The food came out pretty quickly and we were able to snag one of the small tables outside. read more
I'm about a week late on this review. We visited this poke takeout spot in Honolulu, with high hopes from a friend's recommendation. Here's how it went. Food (3.5 stars) + The poke was undeniably fresh--tuna and salmon. My daughter likes salmon and she liked it although I know ahi is the way to go. ~ Spicy Sato had a nice kick but didn't match the photo that looked more creamy and flavorful. - However, the shoyu sauce seasoning was overpowering, masking the fish's natural flavor. - Salmon hand roll was scarfed down by my 11yo daughter in like 2 bites for $8 - Portion was on the smaller side for the price (around $17). I expected more value. Service/Ambiance (3 stars) + Food came out quickly, but don't forget to bring your own water--they only sell drinks. ~ It's a takeout place with only outdoor seating. - Seating was tight, no indoor option, and we had to rearrange seats to accommodate our group of four. Overall, Sato has fresh poke, but the seasoning needs balance. I hate to say this but Don Quixote poke from their cold aisle was better. read more

First day in Oahu and we were craving some good poke. The last time we came here we tried Foodland, but didn't get to try other small spots around the area. We stumbled upon this quaint seafood spot and were very glad that we did. Their fish was soooo fresh as if they just caught it that morning! I ain't even lying. Definitely one of the best hand rolls I've had -- everything melted together from the salmon to the seafood and the rice. Tucked together so nicely. Salmon portion was thickkkkk. Rice portion wasn't too much either. Their shoyu marinated tuna was flavorful -- subtle and not salty. They had an ample amount of fish serving on a bed of rice. I like how they give you options to add other things on your bowl, but the main idea is the quality of the fish here and man do they nawttt disappoint. Fish can be tender too. Small poke shop walkable from the beach. Limited seating in front of the store but would rather eat on the beach and enjoy the sunset. I got the macadamia abura sushi which comes with crushed macadamia nuts and torched poke salmon. The moment I got the bowl I could smell the torched salmon. The macadamia gives it a nice texture and buttery flavor. Rice was good and has some sauce on the bottom. Quick service ordered counter and called my name when ready. The best, unique tasting poke of our whole trip!! The aburi macademia salmon bowl here is to die for. The char mixed with the creamy sauce is so perfect. If you liked seared salmon nigiri with mayo, this is your dream poke bowl. The macademia nuts as a topping is also super unique and adds a lot of texture and rich flavor to the bowl. Cute poke hole in the wall location, found on Tiktok went to try their macadamia nut aburi salmon. It was alright! I really like their fish quality but I think macadamia nut and aburi salmon didn't quite work together for me. I found flavors to be clashing. I think if had their regular poke bowls I would actually rlly like it! Because their salmon poke was really good under all the macadamia and the torched bits. I normally like macadamia nuts and aburi salmon too. Otherwise liked the place, seems family owned too! read more
Food - The salmon poke was spicy as I expected because it had 2 chili icons. But it was delicious! - Good small box portion for my breakfast. Service - Quick service, no line when I got there at 10am. Ambiance - Great location across the street from the backside of the International Market. - Hole in the wall type space, which I love! - Small shop to order to go. - Easy to find. ACTUALLY MY FAVORITE POKE SPOT OUT OF ALL THE ONES I'VE TRIED. I had the Macadamia Aburi Salmon bowl twice while I was here. It's made fresh to order, and the flavors are unlike anything I have ever tasted in a poke bowl. The ratio is immaculate. This spot is located near Marugame Udon (which typically has the long line), but make sure you check it out on your trip! read more
Best Mac nut aburi salmon poke bowl! Their portion size has gone down quite a bit between Aug 2024 and Dec 2025, but still tastes great. The first time I tried their aburi salmon was purely for the convenience that Sato Seafood is right across the street from my hotel. I remember the container was double the size back in 2024. When I took my first bite, I was in love. So when I came back to Waikiki, I knew I was gonna get some aburi salmon. When I showed up to pick up my order, I was surprised to see the container size. Sato seafood is one of my favorite poke places in Oahu now! The fish is so soft and melts in your mouth, the couple that runs the shop is friendly and they drew little smiley faces on our containers :) The sauce goes well with the fish and the poke bowls were pretty affordable compared to other locations. Overall a bowl of perfection! read more
I've had Sato Seafood the last two times I was in Oahu and tried both the torched salmon macadamia poke bowl and the hawaiian munchies bowl. The hawaiian munchies bowl is hands down my favorite! I love the tempura crunchies and fried garlic/onion on top. The fish is super fresh and they have a lot of poke bowl options. Definitely a good spot to grab a quick to-go meal in Waikiki, as they have no seats. read more
Love this poke place! Been here a few times and also ordered delivery from them countless times. Had the poke delivered to the office today. Parking is tough since it's in Waikiki. Located next to donut king across from international marketplace. In the past I've parked at the international lot and walked over, and bought stuff at mitsuwa to get validation. Easier if you're already in Waikiki or staying there so you don't have to worry about parking. Go to is the Hawaiian munchies, add takuan. Added edamame this time for more filling. Comes with soft sushi rice. Hawaiian munchies is just the perfect level of spicy for me. I've tried the spicy maui before--very spicy! Coworker tried the yuzu miso salmon poke. She didn't enjoy it and wouldn't recommend. We actually had an extra one ordered but no one ended up wanting it so we ended up throwing it out. read more

Otherwise you'll need to walk around somewhere to eat at a nearby bench or table. Service is quick. During dinner time, it takes pretty much 10 -15 min to prep and get ready. Salmon Oyako Bowl: Topped with salmon roe, salmon was very buttery and soft. More straightforward flavor compared to the spicy limu ahi dish. This is because they focus on simple quality ingredients. Spicy Limu Hawaiian (ahi): Not that spicy. It's a Japanese-level spice. The limu seaweed brings a complimentary bouncy texture to the ahi fish. Ahi fish was buttery and soft. Delicious!!! Absolutely loved the macadamia aburi salmon. Service was extremely quick so this would be a great grab and go place if you're in a rush. The texture was great and paired very well with the fish with a nice sear on some of the pieces. The handroll was also good but was a bit plain-- nothing some sauce can't fix! And the locals wouldn't doubt it. Sato was on point with their poke bowls. The fish here was so fresh--you get that buttery goodness while eating the fish. The addition of macadamia nuts adds a great crunch, and the freshly torched salmon releases those rich, buttery fats that make every bite irresistible. I'm a big fan of yuzu, so the yuzu ahi and yuzu salmon rolls are always at the top of my list. The yuzu ahi has a nostalgic twist with its elevated take on canned tuna, while the fresh salmon yuzu handroll is just as bright and delicious as you'd hope. I could eat the spicy Maui Maui bowl with Ahi every day for the rest of my life. The fish was fresh, and it had the perfect amount of spice. We also tried the California hand roll which was delicious! Food was ready quickly and although the space is small the food was perfect. Definitely a hole in the wall spot worth checking out.
