This place was located in the business center downstairs at the food court. We had the lunch special Shrimp Tendon bowl and it came with rice and top with sauce and Shrimp tempura. and Miso soup. We also had Hot Edamame. The service was great the food was too and we left happy campers. For the price for the special it was a great value. Great experience!

Hubby and I came here after having a couples massage upstairs. We each ordered the shrimp tendon lunch special that included miso soup and we ordered edamame along with some drinks. The server was so sweet and made small talk with us. Our food came out and while it looks small it was quite filling. We both enjoyed everything and left very satisfied. The portions and price were great too.

I love this place, for the convenience, price, and quality. Every day they have the limited daily special sushi set, with way lower prices but the same high quality as everyone else. I watch them preparing the sushi together with everyone's. Such a good deal. My favourite is their shrimp and salmon ones, but other ones are just as good. If you are staying in the nearby hotels, this is a good place to get good sushi without breaking your wallet

This was our first stop in Hawaii after getting of the airport and being super hungry! They have great lunch options and super fresh fish, great quick meal!

Located in Stix Asia shopping center! Loved everything about this clean organized restaurant. The chef and service were quick. The sushi was delicious, we stopped by for a quick bite before lunch and it was empty, however quickly started to fill in with crowds. I recommend this sushi restaurant as the prices were reasonable without that high end ambiance, yet the food was amazing and service was great .

sushi matsuri is located in stix in waikiki on the ground floor. You'll need to either walk down the stairs or take the elevator down. I think they validate parking if you do a minimum spend of $20. They also have kamaaina discounts too. for lunch they have a $10 nigiri sushi special (up to first 10 orders). You get 6 different nigiri options (kam discount does not apply to this promo). They allowed take out for this. i didnt dine in since i had my pup with me, but there were some tables outside too along the hallway. The sushi itself was pretty average - probably $10 good but not more than that. Service was really friendly, and it took about 5 minutes for them to prepare my order.

Great food, service, and ambiance at Sushi Matsuri! With a myriad of great places to dine at STIX ASIA in Waikiki, choosing gets difficult. STIX is an Asian foodhall located on lower level of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza, 2250 Kalakaua Ave between Seaside Ave and Royal Hawaiian Ave. We decided on Sushi Matsuri after checking their menu, which included Lunch Specials. We started with the $9.99 sushi sampler, which is limited per day and lucky for us was still available. I was torn between the Shrimp Tendon and Chirashi bowl. Ordered the tendon which was accompanied with miso soup. I'd order this again. The atmosphere was relaxing and aesthetically pleasing, in spite of being in a foodhall. Parking validated up to 2 hours on weekends and weekdays after 5 pm. Overall, an excellent casual dining experience!

Inside the Asian food hall lies Sushi Matsuri and this place does not disappoint. We ordered the chili, garlic, edamame, shrimp tempura, chirashi bowl, and the spicy tuna roll. The chirashi bowl comes with miso soup. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I was quite impressed since their menu was limited. However, we were very full and happy. Service was fine, ambiance is simple and modern. I recommend visiting if you are in the area.

I can't even about this food, but first super clean, amazing service, and fast which was great news because I was hungry!!! I had the lunch special sashimi (even though it was 4:30). The sashimi was so beautiful I did not want it to end. Miso soup was the best I ever had and there was some savory egg custard that I have never tried before that I could eat off a flip flop and it would still be remarkable- the flavors!!! My husband had yellow tail sushi and a spicy tuna roll with chicks of tuna. I was lucky enough to get him to give up a piece- magic. I literally could have eaten there everyday while in Waikiki. It is worth it to sit in a sort of basement!!!!!

They are located in sticks Asia food hall along with other restaurants. Very friendly staffs and great service. Not a big place, nice and clean. You can grab coupons for several places on the island from coupon books scattered at hotels or stores. And this place is included in the book. We really liked the special of the day, the 6-piece nigiri specials. The special of the day is quantity limited. The portion is not big for most of their dishes, so we ordered several things to share, family style. The only thing I was a little disappointed about was that the egg custard doesn't have any toppings. Overall, it's an enjoyable dining experience.

Matsuri Bowl, Takowasa, and Squid and Mentaiko
    Ariel M.

Found this little hidden gem in STIX Asia in the Waikīkī shopping plaza, lower floor. Considering this spot is in Waikiki, the price of the food for the quality and quantity is reasonable. I personally really enjoyed the takowasa, the squid with mentaiko, and the Matsuri bowl (chirashi). They also offered the 300ml bottle of Dassai sake (also decently reasonably priced considering the location) which I highly recommend to be paired with the food. We didn't order a lot of items as this was our first stop for our "Waikīkī adventure date-night" where we checkout multiple restaurants in the area. Parking is located in the building and is validated for 2hrs (huge plus and convenient). Recommend going early for dinner as it can get crowded.

Nice place to get your sushi fix! This restaurant is located in Stix Asia, which is a food hall with various food options that's on the basement level of Waikiki Shopping Plaza. You can enter on Seaside Ave or Kalakaua, and you just look for the restaurant with the green noren at the entrance. I came on a Saturday night and was able to be seated promptly. Service was super attentive, and my food came out really quickly as well! I got the Matsuri bowl and the tofu salad. The bowl had an assortment of super fresh sashimi; the portion size was on the smaller size for the price, but it's to be expected since you're in Waiks. Tofu salad was not bad! Overall I thought this was a really nice place to get sushi if you're particularly craving it.

    Grant H.

Get here early for the lunch special! Waikiki shopping plaza has a food court with Japanese and Asian food stalls and a big bar in the middle. We came to the food court often, and the stalls film up. The sushi lunch special is da best deal, though.

YES CRAB MISO SOUP! ) and one with a mix of everything. They were all delicious. They even have recommendations on how to enjoy them best especially if you get the egg yolk shoyu to add to it. I highly suggest you do - absolute game changer! Our little one enjoyed a small bowl of udon as well. The ambiance is chill considering the seating is very limited (15 seats approximately). It's all bar seating arrangement where you can see the staff cook the food. Oh, by the way, we saw Amy Hill here! It takes something familiar, strips away the unnecessary decisions and turns it into a process that's incredibly easy to enjoy. The restaurant is tiny, but everything feels deliberate. The staff keeps things moving without making you feel rushed, our waitress was genuinely wonderful with our kids and even the people waiting around us couldn't have been friendlier. It felt like everyone was in on the same little secret. The first surprise wasn't even the fish. It was the cabbage salad. Shredded cabbage, crispy noodles, miso yuzu dressing. That's it. Somehow it's one of the best salads I've had in a long time. It's the kind of dish that makes you wonder why nobody else bothers to do something so simple this well. Then came the negitoro bowl. The ikura shower is absolutely worth the extra ten bucks. Yes, it's a little theatrical with the bell ringing, but if you're going to pour an avalanche of salmon roe over my bowl, you might as well make a show of it. The crab miso soup upgrade is another easy yes. The crab almost feels like they're apologizing in advance for ruining every ordinary bowl of miso soup you'll have afterward. It isn't perfect but nothing is. The rice was a little clumpy and needed to be broken apart. After a while, the flavors begin to blend together more than I expected and those beautiful sheets of nori lose the battle against Hawaii's humidity pretty quickly. They look incredible, but they become soft before you can really enjoy them. I also wish I could order another bowl of that cabbage salad by itself. Our kids demolished the udon. Perfect texture, comforting broth and probably the easiest win of the entire meal. Will we come back? Absolutely. Totoya isn't trying to reinvent Japanese food. It's taking a handful of excellent ingredients, removing the friction and executing the experience with remarkable consistency. Sometimes that's what great restaurants do.

That detail set the mood right away. Inside, it is definitely larger and roomier than many places we've eaten at in Japan, but it still had that warm, simple, Japanese restaurant feel. We sat at a two-person table and still had plenty of room for all of our food, which is always appreciated because nobody wants to play plate Tetris during dinner. We ordered the Wagyu and the chicken tonkatsu, and both were so good. The Wagyu was especially fun because we got to grill it ourselves at the table, making the meal feel more like an experience than just dinner. The chicken tonkatsu was crispy, juicy, and exactly what we were hoping for. I also loved that they offer refills on the cabbage and vegetables, just like in Japan. It's one of those small touches that makes the whole meal feel more authentic. The highest praise came from my preteen, who said it was the best tonkatsu he's had outside of Japan. Honestly, that is a serious review from a kid who knows his tonkatsu. Great food, fun experience, nice ambiance, and a little Japan-in-Honolulu moment. We'll definitely be back.

Since it was a hot day, we wandered over to the crystal-themed shop next door while we waited. It had lots of interesting items to browse, although we ended up leaving empty handed. About 15 minutes later our order was ready, and we Ubered back to our hotel, which only took a few minutes. When we opened everything up, the portion felt a bit small for the price. The tonkatsu itself was tender, but for us it didn't quite live up to all the hype. I did appreciate that you can choose clam soup instead of the traditional miso soup, and there are different rice options as well, which is a nice touch. Overall, it was a good meal, but not one that completely wowed us given the price.
