    Breaded pork chops

We were generously sponsored by 855 Aloha to eat there, but my opinions are my own. We ate a couple of meals here, both for breakfast and dinner during our three days in Waikiki. And here's the rundown: Cocktails; they have a creative cocktail menu titled Mixed Signals with phone themed drinks. We tried the smooth operator, which was gin-based, perfectly balanced, and absolutely delicious with lemon and honey. loved the candy ginger garnish. We tried the banana phone which was too sweet for my liking. I did like the table side smoking gizmo which added a hint of Mesquite flavor - but still too sweet for me. My favorite was one called Uncle China, which was a tequila and Mezcal old-fashioned. My absolute favorite dish at this restaurant was the kimchi fried rice. I ate it for breakfast as well as dinner. I just couldn't get enough of it. My husband ordered the breaded pork chops one night and they were really bland and came out with what looked like the hot mustard and red sauce from panda express. The Kalbi beef that I ordered was overcooked and had a slightly bitter flavor as a result. The yakisoba noodles, miso salmon, and ribeye that we ordered on another night were absolutely delicious. Perfectly seasoned and really well cooked. The weird thing with this ribeye, is it came as a complete meal, but our waitress told us that it was just the meat so I ended up ordering sweet potatoes and charred broccolini to go with it -- the potatoes were cold, and meant to be eaten that way. It was a weird juxtaposition to eat with a hot steak. The charred broccolini was well cooked with amount of crunch. The Kimono Roll was amazing! The tempura shrimp added an incredible crunch. The seafood was super fresh and overall every single bite was a harmonious morsel of textures and flavors. The Loco Moco which I ate for breakfast was OK. Not something I need to eat again. The POG mimosa did not have any POG flavor. This restaurant is in the hotel lobby and is open to passers by as they make their way to their rooms. It didn't bother us at all, but be aware of that in case you care about people looking over to see what you're eating. Service was excellent! Warm Hawaiian hospitality.

Found this place online & wow the food was amazing! We tried their short rib/kalbi, Kim chee fried rice & miso salmon and they were all hits - loved them all. We will definitely come back to try more of their foods!

Went with a few friends to try this spot after seeing some posts online. It is a trendy and low key spot in Waikiki. While parking can be daunting, they offer free 3 hour valet parking which makes it easy if you still want to try it out! I made a reservation online and we arrived and were seated. It was pretty empty when we got there - maybe because it's a bit hidden off the main strip of Waikiki. While we had to wait a little to get seated, once seated our waitress was very helpful. Cocktail menu is cute with craft drinks and cute/unique names. They had recently changed up the menu when we got there, so I believe most things were pretty new. I would say their menu is a mix of local style/american. For food, we got the kalbi, fried rice, Caesar salad, chili chicken and poke hand rolls. Kalbi was pretty tender and nicely marinated. And the standout was the chili chicken for me! Super juicy and tender with good flavor. I was pleasantly surprised at the food and would want to come back! We shared everything family style and it was a good amount for three of us. It is a great spot to catch up with friends and we really enjoyed it! While a little pricey, I think it provides a nice atmosphere and portion sizes are reasonable for what you pay for. A great find in Waikiki!

Had a reservation here for dinner with friends. They had an Asian Fusion menu. I got the Chinatown chili crisp chicken and it was delicious! The chicken was flavorful, juicy and crispy. We also shared Yakisoba and Kim chee fried rice. Our server was nice and friendly. The vibe of the restaurant was great and it's a good place for a date night.

Absolutely LOVE this place and highly recommend it for both breakfast and dinner! We had excellent servers, the restaurant was able to seat us right away every time we went in. The Yakisoba noodles were delicious and the Cesar salad was also great regarding their dinner service. As for breakfast there are ample options and they were very willing to accommodate substitutions and dietary needs. I'll definitely be back.

Our waitress was the sweetest person and made our experience so pleasant here. My boyfriend and I were celebrating our one year anniversary here for dinner and were treated well with a glass of prosecco, which really made the night. For drinks I ordered the hotline bling which was like a midori inspired drink, it was good. My boyfriend got the "who you gonna call" which was a whiskey based drink, the foam was perfect like a cold brew almost, it was a more dark and sweet drink. Some drinks weren't available for the night which was a bummer, but we still enjoyed every item we had. Japanese style sharing plates is encouraged, you order multiple items per person. The edamame was spicy but delicious. The grilled shrimp was tasty. The skirt steak stole the show coming in sizzle hot and full of juicy flavor! Best skirt steak I've ever had to this day. Our dessert was a chocolate fudge, great to share ending this wonderful evening. The atmosphere is intimate and classy.

I had a wonderful dinner here. It was upscale dining which was a nice change of pace from the standard Hawaiian and Japanese food I was eating during my six night stay in Waikiki. I had the miso Cesar salad, wagyu special and panna cotta. The salad was light and refreshing. The steak was excellent - tender, fatty, juicy, delicious. It was served with sliced asian pear which added sweetness to the dish. The panna cotta was different. It's thicker and grainy than the typical panna cotta, but I still enjoyed it. For drinks, I had the lychee martini and ring, ring, ring. Both were smooth, well balanced and easy to drink. The ring, ring, ring was an espresso martini served in a tea cup which I thought was creative and cute. Service was excellent. Taryn was friendly and checked in several times, Food arrived quickly. The restaurant is modern, sophisticated and relaxing.

I found 855 Aloha online and decided to give it a shot since it's right in the heart of Waikīkī. The vibe looked amazing and the reviews were solid but wow, this place exceeded every expectation. I lived on Oʻahu and have eaten at just about every restaurant more than once, and hands down this might be my new favorite. Everything, and I mean everything, was incredible. The ambience, the service, and the food were all flawless. A special shoutout to China, our server, who was absolutely incredible and made the experience even better. If I could give this place 100 stars out of 5, I would. I'm already going back tomorrow to celebrate my sister's birthday. That should tell you everything.

Checked out this nice ambiance restaurant in Honolulu, but came in close to the kitchen closing. The manager working was nice enough to seat us and servers provided quick service with recommendations. The food came out fairly quick and the tasted great! Bonus: They have a DJ playing a mix of old/new RnB so it was a vibe. *Not in photos, but the KISS ME THRU THE PHONE cocktail was a 10/10. So delicious!!!

I wanted a light dinner before bed and Izakaya 855's small portions were ideal for a light yet satisfying meal. The ambiance is romantic, yet casual which makes it perfect for birthday/celebratory dinners. My guest and I ordered 3 dishes to share - the mahi katsu, miso-marinated butterfish, and the miso Caesar salad. Surprisingly, the Caesar salad ended up being our favorite! Out of the two fish dishes, I would get the butterfish because of its fresh tangy marinade. The mahi katsu was alright, but I could have gotten twice the portion at a food truck on the same street. Our server was polite and informative when explaining the menu. The dishes are meant to be shared among the table, with each diner ordering 2-3 dishes depending on how hungry they are. The only issue I had with service was it took about 20 minutes for our first dish to be served, and about 15 minutes in between each dish. I feel there was something off with the chef (I don't think it was a server issue), because other dishes were coming out to tables who were seated after my table.

Nice clean ambiance with dimmed lights and different table set ups. Nice place to dress up and have an intimate dinner. Went with a group of four. Loved the cocktail selections and the menu with unique twists overall. Ordered four cocktails, chicken karaage, miso Caesar salad, 2 aloha spoons, grilled eggplant, grilled beef tongue, ocean umami cold scallops, geisha roll, seafood pancake. Everything was $206 before tax and tip. Enjoyed all of the food. Very fresh. The waitress was also very nice and moved our table because we were cold sitting by the fan. My friends and I enjoyed our cocktails. We liked the matcha cocktail the best. Items I would order again: Ocean umami, miso Caesar salad, aloha spoon Critiques: Beef tongue was a hit tough I noticed the waitress' thumb touched the inside of my friend's matcha cocktail Overall we enjoyed the ambiance and food.

The space was nice and modern and I like their quirky menu design. Service here was good and waiters were attentive. We got a little bit of appetizer and main dishes, but our favorite was the miso salmon and auntie's gau gee. The salmon was soft and not dry at all. I was pleasantly surprised by the gau gee's which had intense umami flavors. Just as a heads up there is a cake fee, $5 per person. Parking is validated valet for 3 hrs.

Holy bejesus don't leave Waikīkī without trying this food. I'm staying in the attached hotel and thought I'd grab a bite at the bar after a long day of diving. I don't usually have high hopes for restaurants in hotels- but 855 changes that. As apart of the Mina group - sourcing, preparing & plating are all too notch. Ryan not only was a great and attentive bartender; but also kind, friendly and genuinely proud of the plates served. Miso Caesar- shockingly mind blowing. There's something about the Parmesan here it had the consistency of a macadamia nut. Perfect umami. Amberjack ceviche was my least favorite comparatively to the wagyu and Miso Butterfish I ordered; not because it wasn't enjoyable, but those other two. Oof Can't wait to return and try more things! Update- had the breakfast spam Sando - to die for

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.

I went with the Barreled Old Man, a smooth, layered mix of bourbon, rye, and brandy that just worked, while my wife's Sesame Veil brought a nutty, balanced flavor that stood out. For round two, the Espressing My Love was a great take on an espresso martini, and Michael built my wife a custom drink off her favorite flavors and nailed it again. We paired it with the smoked mozzarella and salami grilled cheese and Ho Farms tomato soup, and this is where it really hit. The sandwich came out hot and crisp, and when you took a bite the cheese pulled away just right, that perfect melt, with the salami adding a savory kick. The tomato soup was fresh, bright, and made for dipping you didn't want to stop. We were welcomed with a table that had our name on it, a small touch that goes a long way.
