I wanted to try their abalone poke that I saw in a youtube video but they didn't have it anymore. As a result, I decided to try a combination plate with half sweet yuzu glaze ahi and half spicy mayo salmon. This place did not disappoint. The fish was fresh and it literally melted in your mouth. As a yuzu fan, I really liked the yuzu flavored ahi. It was a very unique flavor. Thumbs up!
Five Star is a quaint yet tasty food truck located in Waikiki. There's not much parking nearby so walking would probably be your best bet. We got the salmon yuzu poke and it was really yummy and tangy! The only complaint is the amount of rice doesn't complement the little amount of protein you get. Regardless, extremely tasty! Would recommend visiting.
Five Star Poke is located in the heart of Waikiki in a small lot of food trucks. They offer different kinds of poke in different sizes: regular (1 scoop of fish), combo (2 scoops), and large (3 scoops). We ordered the combo ($17.95) and for our two scoops of fish we got the ginger scallion miso ahi and ginger scallion miso salmon. I've never had ginger scallion in poke before so I wanted to try it out. They definitely had strong flavors of ginger and scallion which was unique and weird at first but tasty. Also, the fish was very fresh and so soft! If you're staying in the area I'd definitely stop by to try a kind of poke you don't see often.
Oh my goshhhhh! We came back and were so satisfied!! The poke is so fresh and the seasoning is so good! We got the yuzu pepper which was and the shoyu seasoning! It was only $23! And I saw only because poke for lesser quality in WA is about 30! The owner was so kind!
Their salmon poke is pretty good and fresh. Although I preferred the rice to be on the cooler side (temperature) because their was hot white rice (not vinegared).
They got me. It's five stars. It's a small food truck toward the back of a turf plaza, but don't let that fool you. With fresh fish and unique sauce combinations, you'll be able to get the amazing classics and some more intriguing, boutique flavors. I got a large bowl (free seaweed salad!) with garlic shoyu seared salmon and yuzu citrus chili pepper ahi. The tanginess of the yuzu was a neat twist on classic poke sauces (unfortunately a smidge sour for my taste), but the seared salmon was super tasty and really emphasized the quality of the fish. The tuna was also equally as fresh. Really happy that I stumbled over this food truck :)
This place is convenient for tourists staying in Waikiki as it's walking distance to a lot of hotels. It's a food truck located on a lot with about 4-5 other establishments so there's a small seating area. There's not much parking nearby so I just had my bf drop me off while he waited on the side street. I ordered the 3 choice poke with spicy mayo ahi, fresh jalapeño salmon, and yuzu citrus chili pepper. The ahi was fresh but I wasn't really impressed with the flavors of the poke. The spicy mayo was decent, you can't really go wrong with that. I wouldn't recommend the fresh jalapeño salmon there seems to be no seasoning on it besides the diced jalapeño so it was very bland. The yuzu citrus chili flavor was tasty but very mild. Either it wasn't mixed well or they didn't use enough sauce. I wouldn't recommend coming during peak hours. The employee was really nice and friendly but she was the only one working. I ordered 3 bowls and it took about 10-15 min because she had to stop to take orders since a line formed while she was prepping. I'd come again to try other flavors if I'm ever in the area but I wouldn't drive out just for it.
Poke truck in a cluster of other trucks on kapuni but there's ample bench seating everywhere! Flavors make local style so that was appreciated! Did i mention the cute takeout box art?

Such a fun little food spot right by Waikiki. It's an outdoor area with four different food huts, and the first challenge is just choosing which one to try because everything smells amazing. There are picnic tables in the middle, and each hut has bright, colorful painted siding that gives the whole place a cool, laid-back vibe. Bonus: if you're lucky, you'll make friends with the birds. They're very friendly... maybe too friendly, so keep an eye on your food. I went with the poke and it was excellent. The flavors tasted fresh and real--especially the ginger, which had an authentic punch. And the seaweed salad surprised me too..I usually find it bland, but this one was actually really tasty and complemented the bowl well. Great stop, great atmosphere, and I'd absolutely come back to try the other huts next time.
I appreciated the quality of the fresh fish and the complexity and generous serving of marinade so it soaked in the the rice. The rice portion was generous as well and served steaming hot.

We might've been early for dinner? They were still cooking rice (might have just ran out of the last batch) and asked if we were okay to wait. They have many flavors of poke-- staff is friendly and even walked us through all the options so we could make the best decision. We ended up getting both salmon and tuna. They even gave us a free drink on the house for the wait. Poke was absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh, fish to rice ratio was 5/5, and portion size was healthy. Would come here again for poke when we're on the island.
Right around the corner from Maguro which always has a huge line. So for no line you can enjoy really fresh yummy poke. There's a few other food trucks in this area with picnic tables in the middle. I got the small size cuz we were ordering a few things from other trucks too and so I was able to get 2 kinds of fish. Both tunas i got were really yummy. The shoyu was the classic poke flavour and the yuzu was very citrusy and refreshing. I got guac add on because they were very much hyping it up and honestly it was a good addition.

Ordered the #4 Spicy Mayo Ahi with the sauce and garlic on the side absolutely amazing. The heat level is spot on, just a bit spicier than traditional, which I personally loved. The flavors taste fresh and well-balanced, and you can tell they put care into the preparation. Highly recommend this spot as a great backup if the line at Maguro Bros is too long you still get a solid local-style poke experience without the wait. Definitely coming back! read more
This food-truck style business is a quick and convenient way to get poke while you're on a walk in the area! There are other similar businesses all set up in this space and it seems like a great place to hang out with your friends or meet new people! My friend and I ended up having a conversation with another tourist who is from Australia. The sweet yuzu glaze salmon was a bit fishy tasting but the yuzu flavour was really nice. The original garlic shoyu ahi was less unique in terms of taste but the fish seemed fresher. I think I would give this place a 3.5/5! read more
Five Stars all the way! It's so easy to give them their namesake *****! This food truck in a small corner lot on Kuhio Ave has some of the best poké in Honolulu. We had their poké the last time we visited Hawaii and counted the days until we came back for more. On this trip, it rained a LOT and 5 Star was closed most of that time, but we were able to sneak in during some dry spells between downpours. You have a choice of 3 sizes for your poké bowl with 1-3 flavors based on ahi tuna and salmon in mild & spicy flavors (garlic shoyu, ginger-scallion miso, sweet yuzu, spicy mayo & wasabi shoyu) and you can customize it with a few toppings. My favorite combo is the ginger-scallion ahi paired with spicy mayo salmon. The ginger-scallion reminds me of the Chinese sauce used with chicken. The marinated cubed pieces of fish come over a bed of rice with seaweed salad and garnished with fresh scallions & crunchy fried onions. It's one of the most refreshing & delicious meals we've ever had in Hawaii! read more

The guy working the food truck could have been more helpful in explaining the dishes since I have never had this kind of food. He did not seem to care. So I ordered whatever and ended up not really liking it. If you're going to have someone up in the front of a business, they should be able to explain the dishes to newbies. read more

This food truck is in a little corner tucked away with a couple other food trucks, and it offers a motley of fish selections for your poke bowl. I got the combo with spicy mayo tuna and garlic seared salmon and fell completely in love with the latter. The service is fast and the seared salmon is exceptional. I'd say the ginger lemonade is way more ginger than lemonade though (ie not very sweet). read more

Went here on a Wednesday night. My best friend and I were craving some Poke and were so glad we saw this hidden gem through the local food trucks. Very quick service and the lady was so nice and answered all our questions since it was our first time. I ordered the #6, Garlic Shoyu Seared Salmon the charred garlic gave it a unique flavor, and loved the seasoning on this one. I only got 1 scoop and I was so full. My best friend got the 2 scoops, half #1 & half #4, she loved it. It has the right amount of spiciness and doesn't overpower the ahi. A little on the pricey side but overall we enjoyed our food! read more
Food: I got the 2 choice combo with ginger scallion miso salmon and yuzu citrus chili pepper ahi poke. The salmon was great with the ginger scallion sauce. Reminds me of cold ginger chicken. The ahi was unique with a nice hint of spice, but the quality could've been better. I like that there's sauce options that you don't normally see at other poke places. Price: The poke bowls are pretty pricey considering how much you get and the quality of the fish, but the unique options are definitely a plus. Service: The lady taking orders was nice and I didn't have to wait too long to get my food. Ambiance: I like how the lot has a bunch of food trucks with tables to eat at. read more
This food truck was parked just around the corner from our hotel by the ocean front. We ordered a large 2 topping Ahi Tuna to share. I asked if there's any butter or dairy in our order & his reply was "there shouldn't be". That wasn't very reassuring for an ingredient intolerant person. Anyway, we sat at a covered picnic table that had a few tiny birds looking for scraps with a sign Don't feed birds! The birds kept their distance. Our order was made quick. The Garlic side had lots of onions that seemed to over power the flavor but still enjoyed it! We thought the chili sauce was the overall better pick! We said we could eat this every day for lunch! There's lots of choices we'd like to try here, but with all the other restaurants nearby we never made it back. read more

Gosh this poke bowl was so good it made me want to catch a Pokémon! Very rad food truck and the spicy mayo ahi and salmon was phenomenal. I'm glad the spice was there even though I'm a blanco boy. However I did need many drinks which was just fine with me. Ima have to go 5/5 Beauski stars on this one. I can see why this place is called Five Star Poke Cause it really is five stars. Got the Combo with 2 proteins: garlic shoyu seared salmon which is slightly cooked and the yuzu chili pepper ahi which was kind of spicy but delicious. Both poles was packed with so much flavor. Loved the crispy garlic pieces on top but each bite was so yummy! Rice was perfectly cooked and it comes with seaweed salad. Green tea was ok, very basic but refreshing. The place is close to the Waikiki shopping area so it wasn't hard to find. My husband put the poke on top of the Ono shrimp chips which was so good. Definitely a place to try when you're here in Hawaii. Service was great, food came out quickly and the owners were so sweet and friendly. read more

Friendly service that recommended good options Had the Original, Spicy Mayo, Yuzu Citrus, and Ginger Miso and all were great. Note - just be careful about the little birds loitering about! Honestly not my fave. Idk how this place gets such great reviews. Maybe everyone who comes here is a tourist and they don't know what good poke tastes like? There are plenty of other better poke places, even one in Waikiki. But there were plenty people getting poke bowls here so I thought I'd give it a try because I live a block away. I ended up waiting like 20 minutes for my order and definitely saw the pigeons attack more than one group of people and their food. If you come here, get your food to go. I strolled up to this little food truck camp. They have a couple food trucks and a coffee/sandwich shop. There are also plenty of picnic tables. There have been quite a few different experimental food trucks here. I remember when there used to be a shawarma place here for example. I guess now they're trying out selling poke. So first off there are no prices on the menu. Well no prices for the poke bowls. Only for the drinks and guac. You read that right. Guacamole. On a poke bowl. It's almost blasphemous. Also, If the tako poke is the same price as ahi, I'd be concerned. But I wouldn't know since there are no posted prices. I decided to get the two option bowl because I wanted to try more than one flavor and I'm so glad I did. The spicy ahi was not like spicy ahi I've ever had and I eat a lot of spicy ahi. It was kinda sour and if I only had that flavor I would have been really disappointed. I also got the torched garlic salmon. It was decent, but I've had better. I didn't like how saucy and mushy my rice got under the salmon. I also didn't like the raw onions in both poke flavors nor did I like the ocean salad. After everything I didn't like, I don't think it was worth the $17 price tag. The other reviews raved about how fresh the fish was.... I'm wondering if these people ever had fresh ahi poke before. The guy obnoxiously yelling out order numbers was the icing on the cake. Maybe if they took down your name to call out instead of what you ordered, it would be a little more pleasant to eat here. The trash flying around and the dirty Waikiki pigeons everywhere kinda ruined the ambiance. I will not be coming back. Nothing about this experience made me want to go back, which is sad because I live so close and don't even have to bother finding parking. read more

It was very so-so. I would say only come here if you don't have time or all other poke places have lines that are too long. They got my order wrong and I had to walk all the way back from my hotel to get it fixed. They never apologized or anything :/ the way they corrected it was just by squeezing a bunch of spicy Mayo atop :/ sigh. But they have a nice little sitting area with other little food trucks to choose from. read more
