Visiting again in Honolulu, we made sure to make a beeline to Poke Fix which is located near the Hyatt Centric hotel and the Stix mall in Waikiki. Their storefront may be modest-sized but brings big flavors through their poke bowls! The service is friendly and efficient, with ready takeout and also a few tables outside if you want to eat right away. Choose your poke bowls with 1 or 2 scoops of their different poke selections over hot rice, along with sides. We love Poke Fix because their poke choices are consistently high quality, fresh, and delicious flavor combinations. The rice is also good quality, and the side choices are also consistently tasty. You can also pay for additional poke on the side, which I encourage to enjoy all of their different daily selections. That's true because the fish tasted so fresh and the sides were so good. I got the seaweed salad, crab salad, and pickled kimchi (they have 3 kinds - OG cabbage, radish, and cucumbers). I felt full after! I also got the ube oreo rice krispie (bc ube - hello?!) and it wasn't our favourite. The rice krispie tasted a bit stale, there was a lot of purple food colouring so it stained our tongues after, and the ube flavour wasn't as strong so I would not recommend it. I received some of the best customer service at this restaurant when I was in Hawaii this past week. Our original lunch plans had to be canceled because of delays when flying into the airport. As a result, we were very hungry and scrambling to find a place to eat lunch. We walked to poke fix and they were two minutes from closing, so we were not sure if they were going to help us (which would've been 100% understandable). Not only did he take our order and make our bowls, but he gave recommendations and suggestions based off of what he had left to serve us. He was very nice and helpful and we were very grateful that he stayed open to accommodate us as well as two other people who walked in right behind us. We got the Hawaiian style tuna for our protein, which was good but not spectacular. Sides were also fine. Scoops all around could have been more generous. All in, our single 1-choice poke bowl ran us almost $20 after tax and tip, which is too expensive in my opinion.
