Regular Spicy Tuna with all the sides
Jesse K.

Dang good stuff, was recommend by ChatGPT and was well worth the walk over. Thank you Kai Poke!

Tina P.

I needed my poke fix while in Hawaii. This place was across the street from my stay, so it was so convenient. I ordered the small portion of Hawaiian and shoyu flavor, I think. It was soooo good I was tempted to get it again for dinner. It tasted very fresh and not fishy at all. I would recommend this place to anyone!

We were waiting outside for our Bus to take up back to our cruise ship there was a handicapped lady sitting in one of his chairs ( I understand it was for his customers) but... he all but dumped the lady out of the chair and yelled for sitting in his chair. Oh and there was not one person in his restaurant!! I would not eat here if there was no more food on earth just plain RUDE!!!

#Small 2 Fish Custom Bowl: salmon and tuna

Stopped in for a poke bowl. I chose salmon and tuna. The toppings are small. 4 cucumber slices, small amount of corn, seaweed salad, tomato, edamame. I would want two scoops of toppings. The food is delicious.

Small poke bowl $16.99. Hawaiian Ahi and California Ahi with ocean salad and crab mayo salad (toppings adtl charge).

For the price and the quality of the poke, it was underwhelming. The poke is expensive, yet the portions are small (one tiny scoop!), fish isn't as marinated as other poke shops, and I suspect the fish isn't fresh :( ... I got a small poke bowl ($16.99) which comes with two poke styles of your choice. Base choice of sushi rice, brown rice, and green salad. I chose the Hawaiian Ahi and California Ahi with sushi rice. You also get choices for a free side: I chose seaweed salad and crab mayo (paid additional $1.50 for this crab mayo). They also give you a free sauce on the side. Service is good and ambiance of the shop is cute. The fish here was just disappointing and doesn't compare to other poke shops.

Great portion sizes for Waikiki pricing, with a solid selection of both protein and veggie sides. My kids love this place -- they even told me they wouldn't mind having poke every day!

Salmon Sahimi with rice was fresh - but I was still hungry so think I meeded more sides -

I wanted to try one more poke place during my last full day in Hawaii, so I stopped at Kai Poke. The poke was great, I got the shoyu ahi and the spicy salmon. I like how they let you get all the toppings without charging a premium. I also got a bowl of miso soup since I was craving it badly

We stumbled upon this place while we were walking around. I was craving a poke bowl so tried one with salmon and ahi tuna. This place is small and had a few tables inside. No frills and nothing fancy - just good, fresh fish. My poke bowl hit the spot. Yummy!

Place was cute and clean. Poor was delicious. Their spicy mayo was spicier than I'm used to too but still good. I got eel sauce too so that tamed it down. I did the Hawaiian Ahi and Hawaiian salmon in my bowl. Yum. It's Hawaii so it was pricey but so is everything else.

Food: 1/5 fish not fresh :( Service: 3/5 neutral Ambiance: super small chic place located near Waikiki beach Would not recommend as the quality here is questionable

Deluxe bowl with Kai Sushi Rice, 3 scoops of spicy salmon, cucumber with avocado, crab mayo, and tobiko add on

Do you like a premium-quality poke bowl? Look no further. Service is amazing, food is tasty, my favorite poke place in Waikiki! My favorite is their spicy salmon, personally, I find it better than the spicy tuna as it is a bit fattier while the tuna feels a bit mushier. I typically add on avocado, crab mayo, tobiko, and cucumber. Kai, meaning ocean, really fits the theme for the poke bar with ocean waves decor. Gives it a very touristy feel but nonetheless a very beautiful interior design. Staff are very friendly and give decent portion sizes. I've been here on numerous occasions and some of the staff know me now and my go-to order!

I picked up a roll from Waikiki Kai Poke and shared it with a friend. It was surprisingly rich and packed with protein, providing both nutrition and flavor. The flying fish roe and spicy sauce mayo seemed to offset the slightly oily texture of the roll nicely.

They occasionally offer salmon as well! Obviously the dining ambiance is prolly the downside as it's a simple outdoor patio in front of the venue, but hey it does the job! We got their combo of Wasabi Ahi and Spicy Salmon, both of which we really love. I might like the sauce from the other well known place tad better, but would say this one was certainly delectable!

On this latest visit we decided to get the wasabi ahi and the spicy ahi. Both were really good but the wasabi was the one for me. We got the two selection combo, which we shared, but honestly I could've eaten this whole thing on my own no problem. The ahi tasted super fresh and since we got there right when they opened, it was even better. They have a small parking lot with just a handful of spots. Getting there early, parking wasn't a problem at all. They have some tables outside so we were able to eat it there before taking off for the airport. Definitely more of a takeout spot. We didn't spend much time in the area, so it was the last meal we had before taking off to the airport and I couldn't think of a better meal to end an amazing trip. If I was staying nearby, I definitely would've come here more than once!

The store is blocked so you can't go inside and operated like a stand. There's a small amount of outdoor seating. Fish type is limited and they only had ahi and tako the day we went. However, the flavors were balanced, and the freshness was evident from the non-slimy texture and meatiness of the ahi. The salad was a refreshing complement to the poke. The optional toppings (I said yes to all) added more crunch and flavor without overwhelming the star of the dish, aka the lovely tuna. The shop seemed tiny. You order at the front door/window where you can see the menu and the display case of the very few poke options offered. Staff worked quickly, as my order was basically ready after paying. Only outdoor seating directly in front of the shop was provided, but luckily we beat the lunch rush and got two tables for our group. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I'd definitely come back for the poke. Location was in a quiet part of Honolulu that seemed to have some small-town vibes. We parked in the free lot across the street where the McD's was.

The restaurant was pretty cute both outside and inside, and I could tell it draws a good crowd for football games, which is a plus. For the poke bowls, we got the Spicy Shoyu Ahi, Furikake Salmon, and Ultimate. Overall, they were pretty good and decent bowls. I liked that there was a condiment bar at the end to add any toppings you wanted. The fish was fresh and well seasoned, with no fishiness at all. I just wished there was a bit more white onion for crunch, but it was good regardless. The Fish and Chips were really good. The fish was super crispy, the meat was firm, and the fries were nicely fried. The tartar sauce or maybe more of a lemony aioli, was the star. It wasn't your usual tartar sauce; it had a homemade lemony sweetness that made it delicious. My only complaint was that the batter came off the fish pretty easily, which made it a bit tricky to eat at times.

Fresh local poke at pretty good prices…read more We got their most popular options: the crunchy garlic ahi poke and the spicy salmon. The crunchy garlic ahi was our favorite, great texture, super flavorful, and just really satisfying. The spicy salmon was also solid and hit the spot. We also added on the chicken (kind of like karaage). Not sure if it was just our timing, but it took a long time and ended up a bit overcooked. Ours was on the dry/hard side, so I probably wouldn't get that again. Overall, I'd 100% come back for the poke. The staff was really nice, she let us try a few different flavors and was super helpful.
