Traditional ahi

I was pleasantly surprised by this little stand in terminal 1 at the Honolulu airport. It is right next of the Panda Express and Burger King. Choices are simple. You pick your tuna protein or tofu and choice of two sides or white rice or salad. There is only one person working the stand but was not busy when I had lunch there about 11:30 am. Behind it is a large food court sitting area. My poke bowl was super tasty. The tuna was tender and had no grisly parts. It was well seasoned and tasted fresh. There were no drinks available so we just ordered that from the other places at the food court area.

A quick, healthier option located near gate A19 right next to Burger King and Panda Express, both with such inflated prices that my tofu bowl was a good deal comparatively. You get two scoop rice, a choice of poke or tofu, 2 free toppings, and namasu and ocean salad. All of this for $17, the same price for a hamburger and a small fry at Burger King and much better for you. Aunty was friendly and kept the small counter clean.

Shoyu poke on mixed greens with seaweed salad, pickled cucumbers, furikake, and wonton skins

My 1st time in Honolulu was unfortunately just a layover, but this poke spot was a pleasant surprise! You pick a poke flavor(classic, spicy, or shoyu), base (white rice or mixed greens), 2 premium sides (I got pickles cucumber and seaweed salad), and 2 toppings for $20. The fish was fresh and had that nice firm, smooth texture I've only had in Hawaii. The portion was generous, and the pickles were a nice tartness after the flight in. My only complaint was that the sauce (optional) they put on the salad was quite salty. Planning to come back on the way home!

Pretty pricey at $19.99 for a bowl, but it was filling and got the job done as my last poke bowl before leaving the island! The shoyu ahi was pretty good, just wish they had regular cucumbers or pickled cucumbers, rather than the ones they had were a bit too sour. Overall decent poke, and it's better than the other options here!

I had low expectations for airport poke, but I only wanted something light. Had the shoyu poke and the tuna was fantastic--it had that great, only-in-Hawaii, fresh, never frozen taste and texture--firm, but silky. Absolutely delicious and hit the spot. They gave us a generous amount of fish too, good amount for the price. I didn't realize you get 2 premium toppings included. It was just a really satisfying layover meal. I took off a star because the poke sauce they put on top of the lettuce was super salty, and they didn't toss it either. Already planning to eat here again on my return trip!!

I mean, it's not the best poke in Hawaii, but it was totally reasonably delicious lunch at this spot in the food court near the E Gates at the airport. Had the greens base and the traditional Hawaiian poke - traditional Hawaiian is not the saucy shoyu stuff it's got some kind of really salty, seaweed and citrus topping, which is delicious and seemingly only available on the islands. Definitely get this one. Turned out I got there right as she was pulling out a fresh batch so my poke was excellent. So good. Service was super friendly and efficient. Was about 10x the quality of the Burger King that was about 20 feet across the food court.

I got food poisoning from here - it's the only place I ate where the rest of my travel group didn't.

This is the best poke I've ever had! I've lived in San Diego for 10 years and I make and eat poke…read moreregularly. This place puts everything I've ever made and everything I have eaten around all the coastal cities all my life to shame! The only place I've had comparable tuna is Japan! This meal blew my mind and I truly cannot believe that such an amazing place exists. If I lived here I'd go broke for this place and this place alone Already my wife is saying we can't keep going back here and we should try new things and it is hard to get me to do that. Order the Chotoro Bowl. It is incredible. I'd recommend the fatty tuna if you can get there early enough. Lines form so things sell out quickly. Be prepared to wait a little and enjoy

My palate isn't too decerning but I couldn't sense a huge difference between the blue fin toro and the chutoro. The blue fin was a bit more expensive, so unless you know your fish, i wouldn't say the price difference was worth it. The side of uni was small but it was Very yummy. Uni is my absolute favorite. It was slightly sweet and melted in my mouth. I'm not sure I would go again, but the fish wasn't too fishy and felt very clean. We waiting about 10-15 minutes for dinner. They can also validate parking and save you 2hrs worth of parking. There was ample seating in the area.

Fast service...but not rushed. Everything is handmade...you can sort of sneak a peek in the back from the register. After trying this place, we're all obsessed with musubi! Try it out. Musubi Cafe is such a fun, local gem, but be ready for a wait. We went early, midday timing, and…read morethe line was already about 15 people with roughly a 30 minute wait. It moves steadily though, and it is worth it. Inside is tiny, just one small table, so this is really an order and go kind of place rather than somewhere to sit and eat. They have every musubi combination you could think of, unagi, avocado, cucumber, egg, bacon, ume, tofu skin, shrimp, you name it. I got the tuna mayo onigiri and wished they had packed in a little more tuna filling, but it was still tasty. I also tried the cucumber spam musubi, which was really good too. We came as a group of seven and everyone ordered something different, and everyone loved every bite. My tip: get at least two musubis per person. A few people in our group got four each and had zero regrets. One thing to know ahead of time is parking. It is street parking only and pretty limited, so plan for that if you are driving. Overall such an easy, yummy stop and a great local experience in Waikiki.
