It was our first time dining here, and even though the restaurant was super busy, Ivan made our experience outstanding! He took the time to walk us through the menu, explaining different flavors and options so we could pick the best dishes. His service made us feel completely taken care of despite how packed it was. We will definitely be back, and we hope to get Ivan as our server again! read more

During our fun staycation in Waikiki, we eagerly tried breakfast at Lulu's. We've enjoyed drinks there before, but this was our first time sitting down for a meal. The open-air restaurant provides a stunning view of Waikiki Beach that makes your meal extra special. Lulu's offers a wide variety of dishes and drinks, making it a challenge to choose just what to order. We decided on the hearty dawn patrol omelet and the delectable Banana Foster Mochi Pancakes. The generous portions are perfect for sharing and trying a little bit of everything. Both dishes were wonderful, but I have to say the Banana Foster Mochi Pancakes stole the show for me. Friendly staff, breathtaking views, and tasty food--what's not to love? read more

Ate here with my husband for our first night in Hawaii. It was about a 10 minute drive from our hotel, and we liked their menu when we previewed restaurants in the neighborhood. When you come in, there is a sign that says the hostess is diagonal from where you are standing. We arrived at the same time as another group of guests who were similarly confused as to where the host was before someone pointed out where to find them. We were seated street side view, and had a nice glimpse of the going's and comings of passerby's outside. I unfortunately left my wallet behind in the hotel so was unable to order a cocktail, but settled on the beachboy nachos with kahlua pork. My husband ordered the mango sweet chili cauliflower wings. We both loved our meals. The nachos are enough for 3-4 people honestly, so I ate what I could, but clearly was unable to finish it. I think this was a decent place and I'd revisit. We went on a Friday night and there was also live music playing with a female musician who sounded really good. read more

Tried to loco moco for the very first time ever--LOVE IT!! I'm not a gravy person at all....but I had to try it once for my last meal in Honolulu! I got the loco moco with the gravy on the side just to control the gravy myself because I was unsure, I did end up pouring the whole bowl of gravy onto my plate! The grilled onions is a must because I feel that's what set the tone with the whole plate!!! I didn't get my with the traditional over easy egg, I got the egg over hard. The server Isabella L. was fantastic!!!! She was so patient with us and made wonderful suggestions and assured me the loco moco is a must for my last meal in Honolulu! 10 out 10-the food, service, and breeze! && the music was fantastic! read more

Great Happy Hour specials starting at 2 pm. Service is awesome. Nice vegan choices. Had the spicy ahi poke bowl - had plenty of ahi and seasoned well. My BFF had the beet poke and loved it. Found this place on Yelp as it was one of the only places that were open late and walking distance from our Airbnb. Lulu's is praised for its second floor ocean views and open air atmosphere. They have great food and service but a bit pricey. I thought that the food was way overpriced for the quality. This place is lively and the bathroom is super clean. What we ordered: Hawaiian Style Miso Butterfish 8/10: marinated and pan fried local style black cod, carrots, bok choy, scallions. choice of garlic mash or rice topped with miso glaze $36 Lulu Moco 8/10: traditional loco moco with a Lulu's twist. Savor the richness of Wagyu beef, eggs, and the added flair of Kalua pork. All of this is drenched in our savory house-made gravy, topped with grilled onions, and garnished with fresh green and white onions, while resting on a fluffy bed of white rice. $28 read more

As a local, I highly recommend this small business. It wasn't the food that sold me, it was the generosity of giving back to the service employees. I forget what the discount is, but I just know that you are a service employee who works in Hawaii, they offer you a discount on your order; and that's how you bring in business and build loyalty with no just tourists, but locals as well. First off, I neeever heard of Lulu's before, but apparently it's been around for years and is a staple in Hawaii/Waikiki. It's definitely someplace that knows their main clientele will probably be 99% tourists so that may be why I never thought of it. But after today, I'll for sure recommend it to people who ask for a good place to eat and don't mind being in Waikiki. The view is amazing! It's got a panorama of Waikiki beach and the weather was beautiful when we went. I don't know what it's like in the winter time or when it's really windy, but we were sure blessed with good weather. I wonder if it gets hot here since the windows are always open? Strangely enough, I got a pasta. Why? Personally, it's because I was very protein heavy throughout the day and I figured, why not start with the most random item! Who needs a local dish??? Everyone at the table was very satisfied with the loco moco and the drinks we all got. I too was satisfied with my pasta, but it's not about the pasta, it's about the local foods and how well they do! I also have to admit, the fish special they had this night tasted amazing! Overall, just come here and continue to support small business, so that they can continue to support other small businesses and other service workers. read more

I like the ambiance of the location! It's an open air bar that has decent food options and a great view of the beach. I've been here a couple of times and have always had friendly service and good time. I went with my family on this last visit and most of us got burgers. I wasn't a huge fan of the basque cheesecake, but it was interesting to try something new. read more

Food was ok. Potatoes were not fully cooked, omelet was good, nothing too special. However I was hungry so I ate all of it. A little expensive, BUT restaurant had a fantastic view of Waikiki and the zoo from the window. My group had a reservation for 13 for about two weeks, and unfortunately had to wait 10 minutes after our reserved time to get our table ready, and they stuck us in the corner no where near the window, lol. So I rate it a 3/5 because of the expensive food and receiving undercooked potato's and the reservation situation. But for small groups it is probably a better experience. read more

We had a gift certificate for Lulus, so we decided to give it a try. As a local, I don't love coming into Waikiki, but parking was easy and affordable on a Sunday at the zoo. The restaurant is located on the second floor with entrances on both the Kalakaua and Kapahulu sides. We came for a late lunch around 2pm. The restaurant wasn't super crowded, but we still had to wait around for a table. For three of us, we shared the Lulu moco and fish and chips. The Lulu moco was loaded, and I loved how there was both beef and kalua pig on it. The gravy was delicious and a hefty portion. The fish and chips were solid as well. While the breeze throughout the restaurant was nice, I was not a big fan of the birds. The birds were sitting on cleaned tables, which didn't feel super sanitary to me. But overall, the food was good! read more

I had visited this spot multiple times during my visit to Waikiki. I went for Takeout, HH, and even dinner on 3 separate occasions. The people from the Bartenders, Seervers, Hostesses, and bussers made the each visit enjoyable. I had gotten the Poke Nachos on the take out while waiting for Hotel Check in. Grabbed some Rice breaker Pilsner whilst I waited for my to go food. I came back the next night for dinner for 2 and sat nearby for the sunset vibe. The Mai Tai s were great and we got the Wings and Lulu Loco Moco with Wagyu beef with Kahlua pork. We enjoyed both drinks and dinner. The server was super friendly and helpful. Last night we went for Birthday drinks and their Guavaliscious bevie was delightful. The Bartender was super friendly and it had a cool Vibe during HH. read more

I was really nervous to try this place because of the reviews. I don't go below a Yelp 4 and they have a 3.8. We stayed at the connected hotel and were hungry, so we have it a try. I'm glad we did! We split the breakfast sampler with kahlua pork and chicken sausage. The pork was surprisingly moist and flavorful. The chicken sausage was really good. I can't vouch for any of the other food, but this was really good. The table next to us had the avocado toast. It was a pretty big piece of toast with a lot of toppings. Servers were friendly and good came pretty quickly. We opted for a table instead of being at the balcony due to the aggressive birds. read more

You can't beat the location and view from this spot. It was wonderful to people watch and enjoy the ocean air. The food was good, but extremely overpriced for what is essentially, diner food. Our waitress was lovely, so this is a great spot for the ambience, but just OK for food. read more

We had a delicious lunch here on our last day with a group of 5 people. I had the chicken cesar wrap. This was filling and tasted so good! Others in my group had the pork tacos, cheese burger, loco mocco and a kids eggs breakfast. We thought all of our meals were good and the service was great. Prices seem fair for the quality of food. We were celebrating a birthday and they acknowledged it and brought out some guava ice cream for us all. Much appreciated. We were able to make reservations online which helped during busy lunch time. Would come back again for sure! read more

Surprisingly good brunch, especially considering this is typically a night spot! We ordered mochi pancakes, aloha avocado toast, and one of the egg dishes. Everything was very good, and the kids were very happy to see so many different kinds of mochi pancakes (strawberry, banana, ube, etc)! The environment is casual, open-air on the second floor, and you can see the water from most tables (although keep in mind you're across the street, not on the beach). The service is friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back here for brunch the next time I'm in the area! read more

Made reservations for a group of nine for our first night in Waikiki, and it was more than I expected. We got seated at our own "private" table in the corner, which was nice, and our server, Kaylee, was so cool and attentive. We ordered a round of drinks and our entrées, which came out pretty quickly. I will say the drinks were just alright (we all basically ordered piña coladas). They were a bit disappointing, but it was fine. The food, however, was surprisingly pretty good. I had the Chicken Vodka Cream Linguine, which was not too creamy and had a lot of flavor. I personally really enjoyed it. A couple of the guys ordered the Loco Moco, and one loved it, one said it was salty in a good way, and one said it was overly salty, so take that as you will. A couple of other people ordered the poke nachos, which they said were good, and others got the ahi poke. Portions were quite large. The place itself was lively and large. It can seat a good number of people, and even though we were kind of off to the side with our own party, it still felt comfortable. The manager also stopped by to check if everything was okay and cracked a few jokes with us, which was cool. For a big party on the Waikiki strip, I thought Lulu's did really well. read more

Fruit medley - we got this as an appetizer. Skip the guava sorbet unless you really like guava and sorbet. Strawberries were out of this world with flavor! So we're the pineapples. Papaya was good as was the cantelope. Green melon was meh. Overall worth getting. Coffee with Mac nut flavor was awful! Do not order lol Guava juice was good but watered down with ice. Bloody Mary was great! Banana Foster pancakes - added the coconut syrup. Definitely very filling. If you like banana foster then you'll LOVE this! Side of bacon - skip! Cheap and fatty with no flavor. Side of sourdough toast - "hard work" to chew and cold but good flavor. Veggie omelet - very good! Potatoes were very hard and undercooked but good flavor. Strawberry pancakes - yummy! Out of this world!!! I heard the tacos are amazing! The person next to us said she's ordered them twice already. Staff was friendly and attentive. Overall, this restaurant is one of the highlights of our trip whenever we come. We made a reservation for my mom's birthday and sat at the bar overlooking the water. Definite memories here! Can't wait to come back here to try the lunch/dinner menu. I'd give it a 4.25-4.5 star experience for the food but add in the views and ambiance and it's easily 5 stars. read more

Came here because of the crowd outside and the good reviews, but it ended up being just okay. The loco moco has huge portions (definitely shareable for two), and the burger patty was nice and beefy. Lulu's is one of my favorite spots to go during the day to get a bite with a nice view. Sitting along the bar style seating facing an ocean view while enjoying breakfast is part of what makes Hawai'i special. Mrs. picante and I got away for a shared milestone birthday this year without the kids, and enjoyed a few days in Waikiki. We had an absolutely wonderful time, although admittedly, this was not my favorite Hawaiian location or vacation. Still, one of the highlights was eating at Lulu's Café no fewer than four times during our stay. Yes, my wife really liked the place. One could argue that is due largely to their substantial gluten-free menu, and her recent celiac diagnosis. But to be fair, each time we visited, we tried a different dish, and everything was delicious. As you might expect in a place like Waikiki, the servers were all very attentive, and sweet. Our drinks never ran dry, and they checked in on us just the right number of times. On two of our visits, we sat at the counter overlooking the street below, with a beautiful view of Waikiki Beach. My diet experienced a sudden, painful, and calorie related death somewhere between a breakfast of mochi pancakes, and a subsequent visit that watched me consume a moco Loco. I thought the beat salad was absolutely delightful, and probably the healthiest thing I ate during my trip to Hawaii. You can't beat the burgers, and here they have one that comes with a big thick juicy patty, and a big pile of pulled barbecue pork. Do not come here on a diet. My husband and I came to Hawaii for both of our birthday. We came the first morning we arrived and everything was 10/10. We came the morning of my husbands birthday, we had ordered food and everything came out 10/10 again. Our waiter was Ricky. I had let him know it was my husbands birthday and he gave me options of ice creams we could do for him, and how he was gonna try his best to make it extra special. He proceeded to give the check and not even mention anything about the ice cream. Nothing was brought to our attention if they weren't serving it yet or if they were sold out. I was really bumped out because it was something i wanted to surprise my husband with. The pros, location, view, nice wait staff. Good place to watch football and a sunset. The cons, so hot you cannot enjoy your food and you can't wait to get out of there. Crazy expensive.
