Long wait. Friendly staff. Home-y comforting food. The island fried rice was very tasty but could use a little more protein. There were also some chunks of white rice that was not stirred well. It was still delightful. The loco moco gravy was a little thick. It was delicious. The spices they add in there made it different from the other gravies I have tasted. I could not say anything about the patty as my company order a non-meat (maybe impossible burger) for the patty. read more

Came here last week on a quick two day trip with my wife and our two friends that suggested this restaurant. We woke up around 7 and immediately placed ourselves on the waitlist via yelp. We stayed next door so we walked over and waited about 10 minutes before being seated. The service was amazing..not once was my coffee empty, the food came out fast, and the food was delicious! Although the restaurant itself is small, they get people in and out quickly. The restaurant overlooks the ocean so it's pretty awesome! I'd absolutely recommend this place to anyone. read more

The food was 10 out of 10! I would definitely recommend going here early in the morning as it gets pretty busy but they do have a waitlist that moves decently quick. It's right by the water so the view is beautiful. The service was great and the food came out quick and was hot. I would definitely go here again next time I visit Waikiki Beach. read more

Such a cute restaurant! I thought downstairs was the restaurant but you have to walk a bit further and up the stairs. There's indoor and a little cute covered outdoor area seating. We ordered the loco moco, fresh island ahi and kids banana pancakes. The ahi was a bit too cooked which made the texture less desirable to eat. The portion for the kids pancakes were massive!!! My toddler loved it though. Our waiter even came and let us pick out a hat bc we ordered from the kids menu. Would def like to come back and try other items on the menu! read more

We waited over an hour for our table. It was definitely not a place we would come back. I wish they kept the place bit more clean. I barely finished my shared meal due to the heat and smell of the place. The food is definitely delicious and freshly made. My kids loved the pancakes. And my husband enjoyed his breakfast burrito! The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Probably the most polite we have came around. read more

Perfect brunch spot. Friendly service and delicious food :) We usually like to try different restaurants while on vacation, but loved Eggs n Things so much we came here twice. The sides of potatoes are a must!! We got the steak and eggs, mochi waffles, island fried rice, breakfast burrito, and ENT burger. Super convenient location -- the wait time can get long so join the waitlist on Yelp & you can either walk around some of the shops or stay in your hotel while checking your spot in line via the Yelp app. read more

The food was amazing! Ken was our waiter and he was awesome. You can see the ocean, it's right across the street. We loved it so much we went back the next day. The waiter the second day (don't recall his name) seemed bothered by us asking for anything so that was kind of a bummer. We still highly recommend. The food was so good! Maybe that waiter was having a bad day. He was a heavy set Asian man. Everyone else was fantastic. read more

If you want a sweet, yummy breakfast then this is your place! I got the buttermilk pancakes with a side of whipped cream and macadamia nuts and they were delicious! My husband was a little more spontaneous and opted for the honey chicken and waffles and was a big fan. The only downside to this popular restaurant on Wakiki beach is that it stays busy so expect to wait 45+ minutes. However once you're in the service is great and you will be in and out! Make sure you are clear about the check-in process and follow up with the hostess who clearly was miserable with her job. Otherwise, you may get overlooked. We were told a text would be sent when our table was ready, but unfortunately, we were missed and ended up waiting an hour and a half. For what was noted to be a 20 min wait. Be sure to check in with the hostess repeatedly to avoid the same experience. Or maybe even skip to manager. Food was just okay after long wait. read more

I don't often leave negative reviews, but I felt this experience was worth sharing. After waiting in line for 50 minutes, the service was disappointing. The food was just okay - nothing particularly memorable or worth coming back for. The Fresh Ahi Burger was dry and overcooked, which was especially disappointing. The presentation and attention to detail were lacking. A Bloody Mary served with a rim of regular table salt and vodka simply poured on top of the tomato juice instead of being properly mixed was disappointing, especially for such a popular place. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend this "famous" restaurant to our friends or colleagues. There are many better options in the area. read more

Food was actually really good especially being right on the beach. You are paying for that view, there are cheaper breakfast spots but you may not have a beach right there. The fact that the wait is soooo long and after waiting 80 min the waitress had the audacity to ask if we wanted a counter. Little did I know was the counter faces the wall.!!. Seriously!!! And when I asked if I can please have a normal seat that I noticed just opened up she said well everybody is waiting and offered only a small tiny table in the corner. I just accepted and when were done my man still gave her a better tip for accommodating us to that ridiculous comer. Anyways the meal and food is ok but nothing special and I will not be returning especially because customer service was mid and it should always be fair across the board . Anyways not too happy with this choice. Still, Anyone wanting to go here I recommend you put your name in on yelp way before heading there to save time and get your name on waiting list. read more

Service is great. All the workers are super sweet and love to be there. The wait is also not that bad for a breakfast spot. All the savory options can be skipped. The macadamia pancakes are absolutely delish though. The island fried rice is just okay. It's definitely something you can make on your own. read more

Well, let me just say the eggs are fresh and large. They're bacon is delicious regular or turkey. First of all, if you love breakfast, this is a great place for you. Be sure to add your name to the waiting list on Yelp about an hour before you want to eat -- unless you're an early bird and are there when they open the doors at 6 am. And I've been there and done that and you still have to wait in a line -- they fill this tiny restaurant as soon as the doors open. So what's great? Kalbi beef and eggs with kimchi. Macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup. Loco moco. There are crepes and omelets and French toast and eggs Benedict's, too. But you're in Hawaii, so get something Hawaiian. And there are a lot of locally items. And the Iced tea is brewed and refreshing. If you're lucky, you'll get a booth next to the open windows that overlook Waikiki Beach. I've never been lucky and had those seats but that's okay. The food is the star. read more

I stayed at the Waikiki Circle Hotel, which shares the same building as Eggs 'n Things. So, I saw a huge crowd every day waiting for this place, which told me I needed to stop in before finishing up my trip in Oahu. I had a group of 5, so I joined the waitlist in the Yelp app (about an hour wait) on a Sunday morning. Unfortunately, when they called my name, my full party wasn't there with me, so they put me back on the waitlist, and even when my party was complete (a few minutes later), we couldn't be seated until the next group of openings/seatings. So, learn from our mistake - haha! But once we entered, we saw that the space was quite small, which explained the long wait crowd. However, the staff was definitely committed to fast and good service, as well as keeping their table turnover rate fast to accommodate the waitlist. While small, the space didn't feel crowded and had a cute diner look and feel. We ordered the Loco Moco, Fresh Pineapple Pancakes with Whipped Cream, the ENT Morning Wrap, Fresh Strawberry Pancakes with Whipped Cream, an Iced Kona Cold Brew Coffee, and a side of scrambled eggs and sausage links. The Loco Moco was delicious; definitely a must-try when in Hawaii. The pancakes were also good and fluffy, but the way they're listed on the Menu as "Whipped Cream pancakes" confused us a bit, and we thought the fruit would be whipped with the cream, which was not true. These are your standard American diner pancakes. The ENT Morning Wrap also felt like a standard breakfast burrito, but it was packed and filled me up quickly. The Portuguese sausage gave it a nice flavor profile, also. Our sausage links came out a bit too toasted/dry, but the Kona Cold Brew was fantastic. I always worry that a cold brew drink will come out watered down, but this drink was delicious, especially with the whipped cream on top. read more

Back when my friends and I were in town for my buddy's wedding, I remember passing by Eggs 'n Things for the very first time and seeing a pretty healthy crowd waiting for a table. Given how it's Waikiki, I couldn't help but wonder if this place was legitimately good or more of a tourist spot. Fast forward to my last trip and there seemed to be even more folks waiting. So, this time around, I almost felt compelled to finally check this place out for myself! Even though Eggs 'n Things has multiple spots on Oahu, including a another one in Waikiki, I was pretty set on coming to this one. Besides how it's the one that I had passed by so many times before, it also has a great location. Situated right on Kalakaua, slightly above street level, and with a relatively clear view of the beach and the ocean, it felt like, if nothing else, the ambiance would be a plus! Thankfully, after looking over the menu and seeing numerous delicious photos of their various breakfast plates and specialties during our hour long wait (more below), we felt fairly confident our tastebuds wouldn't be let down! -- HAWAIIAN STYLE KALUA PORK BENEDICT Served Over a Hawaiian Taro Roll, Topped with Poached Eggs and Hollandaise Sauce, and a Buttermilk Short Stack...$17.95 Sadly, not as impressive as I hoped for. The pork was very moist, but it didn't have a strong smokey, savory flavor, and the hollandaise was a bit acidic. As for the sides, the pancakes were okay, the eggs were good, and the roll was tasty, though I wish it had been toasted more. -- LOCAL STYLE KALBI & EGGS - Asian-style Marinated Boneless Short Ribs, Kimchi, Two Fresh Island Eggs, and Fried Rice (+$4.95)...$21.95 Of the two, we both thought this was better. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the short ribs were terrific - juicy, flavorful, and with a nice char. That said, this came with only three pieces of beef and the fried rice was also a little mushy (yet flavorful). Beyond the food, service was terrific - from the host to our server, the entire staff was so friendly and cheerful. Which is kind of impressive, considering how they are constantly hustling around to take care of so many folks. More importantly, their operation is also quite efficient, deftly handling small and very large parties (including a party of 15) and getting folks in and out relatively fast. I just wish we had known we could've added ourselves to the waitlist before getting here via the Yelp app, which would've saved us a lot of time (I'm a bad Yelper...). Despite how the food here didn't amaze like how we had hoped it would, we certainly had no regrets about coming here. Nothing that we tried was too shabby and I'm glad I can check this off my list of bookmarks. Plus, if you're fortunate enough to get a seat by the windows, the view is perfect for people watching, especially when a giant breeze starts to blow in. Overall, their current Yelp average is actually perfect (3.7 stars, which is the same at their other Waikiki spot), but since I can't give the same, I'll round up to four for now. read more

The food was absolutely delicious--I'd give it an 8/10! The prices were also very reasonable for the quality of the food. I would definitely recommend making a reservation before coming. Without one, we waited quite a while for our table, and the restaurant was extremely packed and overcrowded. Because of how busy and fast-paced everything was, the experience felt a little rushed and, at times, not as clean or sanitary as I would have liked. That being said, the waiters were doing their absolute best to keep up with everyone and still made us feel welcomed. I had no issues with the staff themselves, and the food was definitely worth mentioning because everything was delicious. I would come back, but I wouldn't recommend it for larger groups of 4+ people, especially during their busiest hours. read more

Very disappointing experience, especially considering the level of service we received. I specifically requested a jammy poached egg with the hollandaise served on the side. Instead, the egg was hard-boiled, and the hollandaise was poured all over it. The customer service from the assistant manager was also very disappointing. At that point, I didn't even bother addressing the issues with him. Just a heads-up for future customers: this restaurant charges a 3% kitchen service fee (it's not our fault the servers don't share their tips with the cooks?) as well as an additional 3% credit card fee, so be aware of that before dining here. With those added charges, you would at least expect good customer service, but unfortunately, that wasn't our experience. We've been coming to Oahu since 2009 and have found many wonderful places over the years that we love returning to. Sadly, this won't be one of them. read more

Great food and big portion sizes almost too big I felt terrible I couldn't finish it all! But it came out fast and was hot and fresh.
