Ribbon fries, banana pancakes, pork adobo
    Lore M.

I really liked this place, super close to where we were staying so it was our go to spot. Tiny inside with a couple of tables to eat outside. They have a good variety to choose from. They are from Argentina so they have argentina style empanadas, I ordered the chicken empanada and really enjoyed it could use some salsa or more flavor tho. Banana pancakes were bomb! They also have coconut syrup to make it even better! Loved the adobo plate and their custom ribbon fries were soo good! I was not a fan of the lemonade drinks, they were super sweet. Prices are pretty good being that it's in the prime of waikiki. Orders can take some time but the staff is cool.

Cute lil spot for quick and friendly service. Everything I've eaten here has been delicious. I usually eat breakfast here (burritos, croissant sandwiches, and spam and eggs over rice). Good bang for your buck! I recently had their bacon cheeseburger and that was well worth the money and calories Their burgers come with fries and those always seem to be cooked to perfection. They've got a variety of sauces including spicy mayo that's good in pretty much everything. They've also got quite an array of drinks... I've only ordered coffee there but I heard their boba tea was pretty good. This is probably one the cheaper options in this area but I think the food is pretty damn good! Come give them a try and support their small business.

Located on a back street you'll find it next to a very popular hostel. The owner operators are very nice, personable and easy to like. If I recall correctly they are from Argentina and that said you'd think birria tacos and empanadas should be one of their strong suits. They offer wide variety of items though. From burgers to fries, Filipino classics like lechon kawalli, pork adobo and lumpia! What did we order? - Bacon Cheese Burger: 3/5 Stars - Fries: 3/5 Stars - Birria Tacos: 2/5 Stars - Lumpia Shanghai: 2/5 Stars Run down: - On standard items like a bacon Cheeseburger that could easily be fixed with just bit more seasoning. The fact that they've not given that much consideration to the flavor has it fall short of standard expectations. - The lumpia was very bland, honestly had a flavor and feel of a poor quality frozen store bought lumpia. - The Birria tacos also victim of poor flavor and the consomé was the so far from the traditional standard of flavorful broth that if this were a persons first experience of Birria tacos, said guest would likely not be interested in trying one from another restaurant if this were the basis. Overall, if Hi.Shack gave a little more care to the flavor as they do to being personable, they could become a solid late night go to. But for now, it falls short, and I'd likely recommend McDonalds or Dominos to a friend verses a rec to Hi.Shack Kitchen

We were staying around the corner and came here for their flavored lemonade. They also sell burgers, sandwiches, fried food, and other similar items. The red guava lemonade we got on our first night was really good and came in a 24 oz plastic cup as advertised. The next day we ordered a mixed lemonade, specifically the Honey Gurl (honeydew & passionfruit) and it came in a paper 20 oz coffee cup instead. The mixed lemonade was definitely not as good. I would recommend the red guava lemonade but just wished there was some more consistency across their drinks. Both the flavored and mixed lemonade are advertised as being a 24 oz plastic cup on their menu

So we were a little Leary but o very surprised and happy with the food and service. Banana pancakes were the bomb!!! So good. Breakfast burrito and the side salad were very good and the chicken empanada did not disappoint. Would go again!

Lumpia Shanghai, Fried Noodles, and Empinadas and good beers

Ate dinner here at the HI Shack on Lemon Ave. Last night. We had beef empanadas fried Noodles and lumpia Shanghai. The service was counter order and a vibrator pager. The ladies were all friendly and accommodating. The ambiance is a hole in the wall fast food local restaurant. They are quick with great tasting food and offer a huge variety with great hours of service. Give them a try when in the area.

Absolute robbery. No where near the amount advertised (check photo below).Nearly $20 for six small pieces of pork. Never again.

If I could give negative stars, I would. I don't know what unholy kitchen circus I ordered from, but somehow I paid $30 in tips and fees just to receive absolutely nothing but disappointment and existential dread. First they made me wait hours -- HOURS -- as if my time is some kind of complimentary appetizer they can serve cold. Then DoorDash hit me with the fees like it was a premium subscription to misery. By the time the food finally arrived, it looked like it survived a battlefield and lost. And the lumpia? I've seen paper towels with more crisp and integrity. The lumpia were colder than my soul after waiting. The taste was 90% melted garbage, 10% regret. And the meal I actually ordered? Apparently fictional, because it wasn't in the bag. I never got my beef noodles. For $30 extra, I basically tipped the driver for apologizing and paid a convenience fee for a cold lumpia funeral. This wasn't a meal -- it was a life lesson in suffering. At this point, I genuinely believe the kitchen is run by gremlins blindfolded, using instructions written in crayon. Save yourself. Save your money. Save your sanity. I would rather eat a microwaved gas-station lumpia that fell on the floor than ever order from here again.

Super yummy cute spot behind park shore hotel. Food was good and so was the service . Breakfast burrito is good

At the time, he stated that him and his partner were in a competition to see how many triples they could sell, but figured I'd keep that in the back of my mind for our next visit. We came here on a recommendation from my boyfriend's coworker and I'm glad we came! The burgers and fries were made fresh. There are only a hand full of tables inside and a small bar area, but there is also outdoor seating outside, too! A neat fact is that there were pictures posted from when the shop first opened up and to see They Daley as a fixture in Chinatown is amazing since they've stuck around and adapted to the development around. The burger was delicious, too. They have an aioli sauce that was good with diced up pickles. Usually I request no pickles but the small bursts really added to the texture and feel of the burger overall. 10/10 would come again!

I'm pleased to report that this latest order contained a perfectly prepared burger and a bag of crispy fries (as ordered). The remaining nitpicks were: 1) having to wait an additional 10 minutes past the time the order was supposed to be ready, 2) paying $6 for a bag of fries. Increase the price of the burger by $1 and reduce the price of the fries. Yes, the total would be the same but the value would be where it belongs. In any case, $10 is money well spent for a great burger.

I'm not sure how new they are but it appeared that they had only 1 server, who was very efficient and attentive. The food took a bit longer than I would have liked, especially for burger and fries. Menu was adequate, burgers, hotdogs and fries, which is a good sign for me because that means they're not trying to do too much. I got two wagyu cheeseburgers, no onions, extra pickles for the girls, the One burger for myself, and a basket of fries. The girls really loved their burgers and they were a really good size, I could've done away with just ordering one and dividing it between the two of them. The bread was really nice, I can't tell if it was maybe a brioche burger bun or what but it was super tasty, soft and it sopped up the yummy juices well. They did excellent on the request for extra pickles, and the bread to patty ratio was very generous. The fries were good. Nothing extraordinary, but they complemented the burgers well. I think they might be the Ore-Ida frozen ones, which is fine. For my burger, I was pleasantly surprised and realized that I LOVE blue cheese with my burger. Between the tomato bacon jam, the pickles, onions, and special sauce, it was like a well-orchestrated symphony, each flavor getting highlighted without being overpowering, and complementing the rest. That being said, somehow, there was something missing. I am not quite sure what, but I think it's from the actual hamburger patty. I really wanted to say this was one of the best burgers I've had but there was something that just didn't quite get me there. For a wagyu patty, I think I needed it to be richer, and to hold its own with the other ingredients, but it felt like the add-ons were carrying the burger. I mean, I felt like the bread was doing more than the patty itself. Maybe the patty got a bit overdone and would've worked better medium rather than medium-well to well-done? I really can't be sure. Will I go back? Yes, for sure. I am curious about all the other burger variations they have with the fried Kimchi and the Umami mayo. Maybe I'll even try The One fries with all the fixings. And if they could just find that one tweak, they may turn out to be one of the best burgers around.

I'm not going to lie, the wait time for the food is extremely long for just burgers and fries--took more than 30 minutes--but please keep in mind this is a small business. I think there were only 2 or 3 people working, an auntie, uncle, and a younger guy who I believe was cooking. The food looked so beautiful but everything was too salty and the patties were way too charred, which I'm hoping was a one off thing. I did DM them on social media shortly after picking up our order and they said it was an off day. They offered for me to come back one day so they can make things right, but I don't know if I'll have the time to swing by anytime soon.
