WHY I WENT HERE: - dinner - walking distance from my hotel THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in the Food truck park off Kalakaua Ave and Niu St - surrounded by other stationary food trucks; communal seating available THE MENU: - boxes WHAT I ORDERED: - Lychee Lemon Crusher - Trydis Mix - Lilikoi Smoked Meat and Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings THE TASTE: - Lychee Lemon Crusher was super refreshing and the right about of tartness and sweetness - lilikoi smoked meat was bbq pork - it was good - lemon pepper chicken wings could have been more lemony for my personal taste - first time seeing the mac salad in spaghetti form; unfortunately I wasn't able to eat the mac salad because there was some sort of fish or seafood in it, which I'm allergic to CUSTOMER SERVICE: - very warm and welcoming - apologetic to me because my order took a while, which I didn't mind
After checking-off all the restaurants on our list, we finally hit the food trucks, up the road, for some of the best lunch plates offered in the Waikiki Walking Distance, which is a real thing, I'm deciding right now. Really, really tasty stuff. Fun staff. And it came with some bible reference on my Styrofoam container, SO NOW I'M SAVED Y'ALL!
Very very good. Tons of meat...chicken, galbi (beef), and smoked meat (pork), macaroni salad was close to Mac n cheese so very interesting. Tasty, nevertheless. The rice was good with the sauce from the meat. The smoked pork was my fave. The galbi was tasty but hard to chew. The chicken was good but thick. Everything really had delicious flavor. It was a good experience for Hawaii bbq I think.
We decided to try this (lol) food truck by our hotel on a whim and it was soooo delicious. Tbh, I wasn't expecting too much since we were in a touristy area. We got the plate of creamy garlic shrimp and lilikoi smoked meat! The creamy garlic sauce was super rich and fragrant! The smoked meat was very tender and juicy, with a hint of sweetness. We also were convinced on getting their island crusher. I believe we got peach mango and they add some li hing mui in it. We too were surprised when it rang up as $12 but the portion was decently large AND might I add super delicious and different than other drinks offered around. Service was super kind and efficient. We would stop by often during our stay and it seems like they sell out of things pretty often, so be sure to not get there too late!! Overall, I am very pleased with our spontaneous decision to eat at Trydis BBQ!
Hands down the best food truck I've had in Hawaii! The food was incredible--honestly even better than Giovanni's Shrimp Truck, which says a lot. Every bite was packed with flavor, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Their homemade fruit juice was one of my favorite drinks I've had on the island--so fresh and refreshing. No place in Hawaii beat this food truck for me. If you're visiting, this is a must-stop! I got the short ribs and garlic shrimp -ask for extra sauce of the shrimp ,my next dish was smoked meat and was cooked to perfection
We were walking around the area and happened on a group of food trucks. We're always excited to explore local food trucks and as soon as we passed the Trydis truck and saw the menu we knew we wanted to try it. The owner was inside the truck and told us more about the food and made some recommendations. We ended up ordering the lilikoi smoked meat and grabbed one of their drinks as well. The portions were generous and the lilikoi smoked meat came with mac salad and rice. Their mac salad is make with spaghetti instead of elbows so it was different than what I'm used to but seasoned really well. The meat was flavorful and juicy and the fruit juice was refreshing. If you get a chance to try their food I'd highly recommend it.
Just go here for their Creamy Garlic Shrimp! You will be very happy. This food truck is about a half mile away from the bustling Waikiki area but very much worth the walk. The owners are so incredibly kind and sweet. As a preggo lady, I was craving some garlic shrimp and they did NOT disappoint. The portion was generous and the flavor was amazing. There was more rice under the shrimp. It was indeed very creamy and saucy -- just the way I like it. The Mac salad was perfectly seasoned and paired well with the rice and shrimp. We had mix reviews on this place but still give it 4 stars. The Kalbi, Smoked Meat and Chicken were excellent. However their shrimp was not the best we've had on the island - and was difficult to peel. The Mac salad was different but still tasty. Slightly overpriced as well.
What we got: - the three meats deal: llikoi smoked meat, creamy garlic shrimp, and bbq chicken. Wow the portion was huge and this was around $35 ish? From what i remember. The shrimp was so creamy and garlicky and i liked that they kept the head on. The chicken was so tender and flavorful. The smoked meat was also tender (but a little too sweet for my liking.) if i had to pick one id go with the bbq chicken.. or the shrimp (its so hard to pick because both were delicious) ! The mac salad was also unique. The guy was so helpful and nice, and we could tell he cared about his food. He gave good vibes. I definitely felt like i gained 5 pounds after eating this but it was worth it.
The service here is very good. I was given a sample of some of the meats they have to decide what I wanted to order. All were good. The food truck is located with a few others and a nice spot in Waikīkī. The Kalbi ribs and chicken were so good. Marinated well and cooked to perfection. Nice and juicy. The Mac salad is different. Has tuna in it; I thought it was a good version of it and ate it all. Definitely a place to check out for Hawaiian food.
tried this hawaiian bbq truck on our first night in oahu and really enjoyed everything. the service was extremely friendly, she even let us try some samples of the food. most of the kalbi were tender and marinaded nicely and the shrimp was cooked nicely as well. not exactly the best shrimp i've had on the island, but still great!
This food truck is exceptional. The portion size is wonderful, the short rib beef is so delicious and the barbecue chicken is not just a side character - it carries its weight in deliciousness even against the beef. The char is perfect and so fresh and tender. These people are precious and I can tell carry a spirit of Excellence. They love the Lord and honor and steward their gifts of hospitality well. May God bless them and multiply their business.

My favorite local food truck! Jasmine is amazing and all the workers were so kind! Definitely recommend this hands down to anyone visiting the island! My personal favorite was the kalbi while my friends really loved their shrimp (that sauce is BANGER) definitely worth trying all their food. I literally just got back to the hotel after eating and had to write this review immediately! I found this little spot on both Yelp and Google, and after seeing all the amazing reviews, I knew I had to give it a try. It's located in a little food truck lot tucked away in the corner, and I'm so glad we stopped by! Jasmine was SO sweet and welcoming and truly made our experience. She wrote Bible verses on our boxes, which honestly made me love this spot 10x more. We ordered the chicken, kalbi, and shrimp, and I absolutely LOVED the kalbi! Everything was delicious, but the kalbi definitely stood out to me. This is officially at the top of my list for food spots in Hawaii. Would give it a 10 star if I could. read more

Tourist first time in Oahu - we saw this food truck area near hotel, so we had to try it. There's plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas. A perfect place to stop by for lunch or dinner. We picked Trydis because it smelled so good as we walked by. The staff was really nice, they offered us a sample of the kalbi, which last to buy the Trydis plate - Kalbi and lilikoi smoked meat plate. It was amazing! We really liked the seasoning on the kalbi. Overall, if you're looking for a quick lunch or dinner stop, this is a great place to get something to eat. I'm sure the other food we did not try is also amazing. read more

We tried this place actually twice. I saw it on Tik Tock and decided to try it. It was in good walking distance of the hotel. It sits with other food trucks. The first time, I really wasn't impressed with what I ate the first time. I had the short ribs, but they were really fatty. So I did not enjoy it. The second time I did the steak, and it was seasoned the best. I wasn't a fan of the tuna mac I believe it's called. Break down below. Stumbled upon this food truck area and ordered the three plate with lemon pepper wings, short ribs, and garlic shrimp. Came with rice and macaroni salad as well. It was LOADED Up! Staff were friendly and welcoming. Each of the items were delicious, juicy, and full of flavor! Only downside was I paid around $35 for this plate. Definitely on the pricier side. We decided to hit the food trucks on Kalākaua bc I heard good things about them. Trydis is Samoan owned, and offers many of the island favorites. We got a mixed plate of kalbi and creamy garlic shrimp. It inc two scoops rice and mac salad w/ tuna. First of all, the kalbi had a flavorful marinade, and was grilled nicely. The owner/cashier said she marinates the meat (she does an excellent job). Secondarily, the shrimp were super fresh and included the heads. The creamy garlic sauce was so tasty, and went well with the rice. Lastly, the "mac" salad was unique bc it was made w/ short strands of spaghetti. The tuna added a nice texture, and added more protein to fill us up. The owners are super nice and was surprised when I said "Fa'afetai ", thank you. IMHO, all us Islanders are related, so its good to learn some polite phrases in other languages. The ambiance is typical food truck park w/ plenty of shaded tables, and porto potties on site. Support a local biz, and hit Trydis when you are in the area. They serve good, hearty food, with a whole lot of Aloha. read more

Honestly, this place is really good but they are not upfront with pricing. We ordered the short rib and teriyaki chicken rice plate, and the meats were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Definitely top tier BBQ meats. However, the menu doesn't list prices, and we were surprised when the bill came to $37. They were also out of mac salad and substituted canned corn without telling us, we only found out after asking. read more

The service was very nice! They were welcoming. Mac salad was okay the star of the show was their garlic butter shrimp DELICIOUS! The best I've ever had. I was their first customer of the day, first time visiting the food truck area. I ordered the Lilikoi smoked meat plate, they took a little longer to make my plate due to them still setting up, the gave me a crusher drink in compensation. This couple was super nice and had aloha. As for the food, it was so moist and delicious, some of the best smoked meat I ever had, I will definitely be coming back and spreading the word!! read more
