Recently went ln vacation to hawaii and found this place in Oahu, after trying many many restaurants this one was the most filling, yummy and affordable place to eat for my family. We went tjere a total of three times while we stayed in hawaii. My food was amazing. The employees there were soo so nice, my mom ordered some red chilaquiles and there were wayyyyy too spicy for her so an employee offered her some green ones for free withouth having to ask. I would agree with the ratings as they stand for this place. The food reminds me of chipotle in a way with how you walk up to order and make your bowl or burrito then find a seat afterwards. During the day you get a great view of the ocean and beach since it's literally 5 steps away from the beach. They have a mini bar area in the restaurant but they only sell Mexican beers and margaritas which was a bit of a let down. Service is a bit slow and hard to get their attention when trying to get beers but otherwise it was okay. Nothing fancy here at the Kaimuki location. Unlike the one in Waikiki there is not much ambience, no views of the ocean or alcohol. However if you want a good burrito for take out, they exceeded expectations. You pick your own burrito ingredients from the meat to the sauce. Fairly decent prices for the food but the Mexican sodas are a bit pricey. We go here about once a month when we want delicious, filling, take-out for busy evenings. read more

Here again! Ordered their chicken enchiladas special and boyfriend got the carne asada and burrito. Both were delicious! We also got the carne asada fries. Loved that the fries were super crispy so it didn't get soggy. All the dishes were perfectly seasoned. Service was great. Orders were done correctly. Very casual atmosphere. You come in, order your food, they give you a number, find your own table and the food is served to you. One thing I noticed is that they put a net over the windows so the birds and bugs can't come in anymore. Nice place to have a meal. read more

Went to Oahu Mexican Grill at 2520 Kalakaua Ave for Breakfast this morning. This was our first visit. The sign says Loco Moco, waitress says we discontinued that. So we ordered the boring breakfast and the local fried rice and two coffees. The coffees were whipped espresso and Coffee Cocoa. I can honestly say we will never return here again. The coffee was supposed to be hot and it was cold. I asked for it to be heated up but they don't have a microwave. The one girl made me a new one. This is why I gave them a one and not a zero. The food was hot but not tasty at all. The ambiance is old school Hawaiian fast food sit down. Wife got an upset stomach and ruined to rest of the day had to return to the hotel. read more

The staff was a bit mean to my family and I when we were ordering and didn't have a good system for to-go orders. They packaged our food poorly and had attitudes when we asked for sauces on the side. The food wasn't that flavorful but was reasonably priced for the quantity. It's close to the hotels and is one of the few Mexican food options in the area. Mexican food with an ocean view! This place is right across from the beach, on the second floor. So it's super convenient and has a wide variety of what meats and options. I got a burrito with half chicken and steak. Chicken was pretty. Appreciated that they had the steak beef, and it had good flavor, but the dryness of the meat was an overall negative for me. Was also a bit disappointed that burrito was lukewarm at best, and not well made so it fell apart after a couple bites. Staff were friendly and ordering was quick and super customizable. Open air feel as you look out at the palm trees. The staff was friendly and efficient. Probably the best quesadilla/braised beef bowl I've ever had (I went back multiple days). The braised beef is advertised as being served in a spicy chili blend, but it wasn't too hot (I don't like very spicy things) and had great flavor. They do traditional American breakfast too. I had pretty good scrambled eggs, toast, and bacon (bacon may have been a little undercooked for my preference, but it was good). I look forward to visiting again. read more

Terrible dining experience. It starts with their cafeteria style ordering process. Some guy standing over a grill tells you to order your food - and then you realize it's him you're supposed to tell what you want. We ask for chips/salsa (on the menu board) and he points to the checkout - apparently that's where we're supposed to pick them up. Beers (x2) were warmer - certainly not ice cold which they should be on a 84-degree day. Lastly, the open air is awesome but you might want to clear tables a little quicker to keep 10-12 pigeons from roaming the dining room. This place borders on needing to be shut down. read more

This place is on the 2nd floor of a building, so that was kind of cool to have a slight view to see from. We decided to share a bowl of the braised beef. Along with a bag of chips, it was more than enough for two people. Everything looked really great and fresh with the exception of the lettuce. I still added a little bit, but iceberg lettuce browns relatively quickly. Service was fast and friendly. And you can't beat the views from the dining room. We ate early (around 11:30) so it wasn't crowded when we arrived. By the time we left, there was a line forming. I really love OMG. For the price point, quality of food and it has a really great view, I think this place is great. Sometimes, the service isn't the best but it's also a grab and go restaurant. I love their burrito bowls. It's almost identical to chipotle. They have good carne asada fries, salads and burritos as well. They also have amazing breakfast options. You can add chips and queso to your meal and the queso is great! If you don't get a bunch of add ons, you can get out of here under $20 a person for lunch which is great in Waikīkī for a non fast food option. read more
