Stuffed blueberry cream cheese French toast with fruits on top
    Nhi T.

I had the stuffed blueberry cream cheese French toast with fruits on top. Overall, it was good and delicious. The fruits tasted fresh and the French toast was soft. I enjoyed the cream cheese aspect, but it did make the overall meal taste a bit heavy. The server was nice and provided us with suggestions on what to do on the island. When we left, the server came out to say bye and provided more suggestions. Amazing service. I would rate service a 5 star.

Here's a review from start to finish if you are a tourist. Parking here is a pain. There is a small parking lot that fits 12 cars but probably really 8 or 9. 2 cars are completely boxed in so I am assuming this is staff parking. There is off street parking but it is not easy. Simply drop off someone to get on the list and look for parking. FYI, they won't let you wait inside the restaurant. There is a small shade spot but if it's taken, you're roasting so bring a hat. Inside is nice and cold! We were here for the breakfast menu. They gave the kiddos a plastic cup of toys which was pretty cool to keep them occupied. The waiter was cool, great recommendations and suggestions. Here is what we ordered: 1. Hawaiian Omelet 2. Corn beef hash breakfast burrito 3. Sides of rice and pork for the youngsters. Everything was so darn delicious. I could go on and on about my breakfast burrito but you just have to get it. This is definitely a must go to place during your vacation! Everyone that came in was quoted 10/15 minute wait time lol. We waited around that time but I found it funny. Party of 8? 10/15. Party of 2, 10/15. Funny! Love this place!

My friend suggested this place to me, so we came here for brunch on a Monday holiday. The servers here are great, very attentive. We were seated as soon as my friend arrived . First off, the corned beef hash was spiced to perfection. I was pleasantly surprised, even though I have already known myself to enjoy corned beef. Next, the kalua pork Eggs Benedict was really gratifying, and I'm always happy to try any variation of the Eggs Benedict. Lastly, the stuffed French toast was scrumptious. The cream cheese goes really well with banana or blueberry. Our server was wise to inform us that we can mix and match the French toast flavors, such that we could get 2 banana & 1 blueberry, which my friend did. I liked the blueberry French toast better, but both were still good. The bottomless iced tea or iced coffee was a really nice option (and potentially put me at risk of over-caffeinating, but I'm not complaining). They even gave me a to-go cup for my iced tea. The team at Sweet E's really took care of us. We opted to eat outside for the brunch atmosphere, which I regretted immediately because I really dislike eating outside (because of flies).

To be honest, this place was meh at best. I walked in expecting a good local brunch spot and was greeted with a waiting list, which was fine. Unfortunately the atmosphere felt a bit dingy, and the restaurant didn't seem particularly clean. My order also came out wrong. I asked for fried rice with my Eggs Benedict and got white rice. I ordered the blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast and received the banana version instead. The staff seemed rushed and overwhelmed, which may explain some of the issues. I'm hoping it was just an off day, but honestly I probably wouldn't return.

Local hand. Always a line, excellent food options. If you're a big breakfast lover, I highly recommend. The pancakes, rock! A must try if breakfast is your "thang!"

Don't let the waitlist and lack of parking scare you. The wait is not that bad! We arrived on a long weekend and there were 6 people infront of us, we also had 8 people so we definitely needed a larger table. Surprisingly we were seated within 20 minutes! The server was super nice. He had waters for us immediately and bonus points for some toys to keep our little one busy. Food also came out pretty fast. I ordered a Hawaiian Omlette with hash and sourdough toast. My little one wanted pancakes so we got one as a side instead of the full plate. It was such a good idea! The omlette was huge and delish. We also tried the banana french toast and blueberry french toast, both were yummy!

Stopped in for brunch with friends. The wait was about 25 minutes. Check-in was quick and the service was attentive throughout the meal. The Mess with hash browns was filling & tasty. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Our leftovers were packed up quickly. The only negative is parking is a challenge due to the size of the lot.

Holy moly! This local place is full of aloha goodness, family level service & love and outstanding food. Fast friendly service. The everyday breakfast can be customized to your liking so I had spam, eggs and fried rice. Yum! The pancake and French toast were scrumptious as well. The restaurant is a home style cafe welcoming guests from locals to tourists. The line goes fast and waits were only 15 minutes with lots of people. This place is a great breakfast and lunch cafe with reasonable prices. We LOVED it!

We've come here a few times, and every time the servers are friendly, fast, and helpful. Food is very good and portions are large! When we visit we always go very early right when they open, I hear it can get crowded otherwise. Last time we went we got the blueberry pancakes and an eggs, potatos, and bacon plate. The inside of the place is always welcoming, and the photos on the wall are interesting to look at.

haven't been to sweet e's in a minute... and i've been missing out! be prepared to look for street parking (there's a good bit, their lot is just a bit small) and to wait for a little, but it's worth it. staff is great. food and drink come out fast! everything was delicious; highly recommend getting both sweet & salty if you can :) the kalua pork benedict was well-seasoned & well-balanced, a fun take on their traditional benedict. the hashbrown is fantastic and crisp. so ono. the banana french toast was also perfectly done. rich and decadent, but not too heavy! the banana flavor is natural. will be going again for sure!

Ok so my first experience was the best. But I kept coming back with my friends and husband and it was just a bad day. Since then it has been cleaner!! And the food had been excellent. Service was always 5 ! Really treat you well each time. The corn beef hash is amazing!! Love the waffles, French toast, Benedict's, and extreme mess!!! They will allow you to modify the menu to your liking!! I get the eggs Benedict 1/2 corn beef hash and the other with crispy bacon! This is the only place that has done this for me!! So glad I kept coming back!!

Sweet e's is easily the best brunch spot on the island! The staff here are all super friendly, they checked up on us multiple times and brought out extra plates and salsa containers when they saw my husband and I were sharing the burrito. The food is all so good, everything we've tried here has been great. Today we got the breakfast burrito with corn beef which was super stuffed with crispy hash browns, lots of cheese, and tons of meat. We also created our own omelette with portuguese sausage, kalua pig, onions, and spinach. The create your own omelette comes with 4 toppings and you're allowed to do as many meats as you want which is a great deal. The omelette was super stuffed and easily shareable. It also came with toast and a choice of a starch, we did fried rice which was a small up charge. Prices are so reasonable compared to every other brunch spot. We also love that they're dog friendly, there's a nice covered outdoor seating area if you bring your dog and they even bring out a water bowl. The only downside is that the small parking lot in front fills up really quickly and the street parking around the restaurant is difficult to find, but we normally just park at safeway and walk like 5 minutes. We normally come at breakfast time and need to wait at least 30 minutes since they don't take reservations but today we came around 12:30 on a sunday and it was really empty so definitely try to come later to avoid the crowds!

This is literally one of the best breakfasts we had on our trip I still think about it. The food was delicious and the service was incredible, the ambiance is very chill too. We would love to be back.

This place was just two blocks away, so we braved the November misty rain and consistent wind through the buildings to make it over here. To be fair, this seemed more like a Vietnamese coffee joint and a Banh Mi place... so maybe coming here for pho wasn't our best idea. They had two kinds available that night-- beef and chicken. Since chicken pho is not something I'm willing to try, we both ordered up the dac biet. The broth was bland with a thin and unpleasant veil of grease along the top that congealed quickly on the rim of the bowl. It wasn't hot enough, or maybe the pre-cooked and chilled noodle block they poured it over cooled it off. Meat was chewy and low quality. The sprouts and basil were soggy and wilted. Honestly, it was a get up and leave kind of thing. The whole place was just dingy and didn't feel great. I've eaten at some very modest places in my native San Gabriel Valley in Southern California, so it's not a snobbery thing. It's a "someone get a Swiffer wet jet and some paper towels and give this whole place a once-over. Speaking of once, that's the sum total of times we'll ever eat here. Too bad... because it was really close to our hotel :)

Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich!

I had visited their sister location the night before in Waikīkī and had such a great experience that I told my wife, "If this place is anything like last night, we're in for something good." She agreed--and we decided to give it a shot. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by Colby, a tall, friendly guy with a great attitude. I mentioned my experience from the night before, and he immediately said he wanted to live up to that standard. That kind of response set a really positive tone. We ordered two Aroma Specials: Dolce & Banana (me) Nutella Latte (my wife) For food, we went with: P.B. Delight açaí bowl Turkey pesto panini Bacon & egg bagel Total came out to about $62, which we expected given the location near the beach. We grabbed a seat inside by the window (outside seating was full--no surprise on such a beautiful morning). Our drinks came out quickly--but unfortunately, this is where things started a little rough. We both noticed right away that something was off. My wife's Nutella latte didn't have that rich hazelnut flavor you'd expect, and my Dolce & Banana was missing the banana entirely. Honestly, they tasted almost identical. When I politely mentioned it to a staff member who brought out our food, the response felt dismissive and didn't really address the concern--which was disappointing and definitely not the experience we were hoping for. At that point, we decided to just enjoy the food and move forward--and I'm glad we did, because the food was fantastic. The turkey pesto panini was loaded with flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside, and packed with melty cheese. The bacon & egg bagel was hearty, well-balanced, and super satisfying. The P.B. Delight açaí bowl was the surprise standout--perfectly blended, fresh, and the peanut butter added an awesome richness that made it feel like a treat. Everything on the food side absolutely delivered. A few minutes later, Colby came by to check on us--and this is where the entire experience turned around. I let him know honestly: "The food is amazing, but the coffee missed the mark." Without hesitation, without attitude, and without making excuses, he said, "Hang on, let me fix that." I even told him not to worry about it--we were enjoying ourselves regardless--but he insisted. "Rick, I got you," he said. Within minutes, he came back with two freshly made drinks and a sincere apology. We took a sip and immediately--night and day difference. The Nutella latte had that rich, distinct hazelnut flavor. The Dolce & Banana finally had that smooth, balanced banana note Exactly what we were hoping for the first time. Colby is the MVP Colby completely turned this experience around. His attitude never changed--he was smiling, positive, kind, and genuinely cared about making things right. No defensiveness, no excuses--just great customer service and follow-through. That kind of service is rare, and it matters. It's evident that not all the workers have that same dedication to customer service but Colby does! What could have been a disappointing visit ended up being a great one because of him. Hawaiian Aroma Caffè--take care of this young man! He represents your business incredibly well. He needs to be leading your team on what customer service looks like and they need to follow his lead. From naming customers by their first name, to holding that perfect smile the entire time, to checking in with guests after receiving their meals and really caring about their experience. Colby naturally has it and should be showing every one how to do it as well! The Future Looks Bright for Colby and if you don't take of him, someone smart will! Final Thoughts Great food, great location, and a really cool atmosphere--but what stood out most was the service recovery. Mistakes happen anywhere. What matters is how they're handled--and Colby handled it perfectly. Because of him, we'll absolutely be back. Thank you again, Colby--keep doing your thing. You made our day. - Dr. Rick

I didn't care for the salad dressing, but hubby did. We also ordered a iced Hawaiian coffee, and that was quite good All in all, this place got us fed, but I probably would not go back. Hubby said we might, though.

Ordered a turkey sandwich, which comes with sprouts, lettuce, tomato and mayo and asked for the sprouts and tomato on the side, and was told that they're not allowed to do that. First he gave me the excuse that they don't have portion cups so I asked for them to just wrap it in paper and he refused because that's one of their founding rules. He literally told me "you can either have it in the sandwich or not at all" even though I'm paying for the ingredients. He then added on that if I wanted to pay extra for the premium add-ons ($2 for a slice of cheese), I could get THOSE on the side. To make the sandwich worth even LESS than the $10 for turkey and lettuce, I watched as he cut the bread in half and DUG OUT the insides of the bread and threw it away before putting the turkey and lettuce into what was left of a very skinny baguette shell. So much for trying to support a new business to the area. Never again!
