Short Rib Loco Moco and Kalua Pig Benedict

Awesome cafe with so many options! I had Short Rib Loco Moco. I would say the portion was enough for 2 people I had no stomach space for yummy looking sweets I had a cup of coffee (come with one refill). I was surprised by warmed milk in a warmed pitcher for my coffee! They warned up every plates and cups. I can tell they really take care of what they serve. Their food was excellent and service was awesome Although they won't take a reservation, but it worth the wait!

The short rib loco moco was amazing and definitely my favorite. The sauce was great and it's a generous portion for one. The pancake, forgetting what the sauce was, was really satisfying too. The pineapple sausage was also quite nice. Overall the food was delicious. Maybe we were just especially hungry after doing the Koko Crater Railway hike, but I highly recommend this place anyways!

This has become my favorite Breakfast Spot!! The food is amazing (I plan yo experience Everything on their menu)!! The service is incredible! And it's has a very friendly and casual ambiance!! Today I had their Loco Moco w/ fried rice and 3 eggs with Cheese! Plus their Banana Chantilly Pancake! Now, because I always would get the Fruity French Toast I decided to do something different, so I ordered the Banana Chantilly Pancake and added a Bowl of Fruit!! Creating a totally NEW DISH called the KAWIKA!

This place is good, but I feel like the portions could be bigger. They sat us really fast and the service is good. The place is clean and a cute little café perfect for after a hike at koko head.

Second weekend in a row. Living for the pancake! Went on a Saturday around 1030. Not as busy as last Sunday when I went but totally worth the wait and the staff was nice and helpful.

Cute cafe with absolutely delicious food! Yes, we did have to wait close to 30 minutes but the food and service made up for it. Everyone was lovely and the service was very quick. The pancakes were soft and perfectly sweet. The sausage hash was also delicious!

4.5 stars for a solid brunch spot! The short rib fried rice loco moco was a standout, featuring perfectly meaty and tender short ribs--a welcome change from the fatty or tough cuts you often find elsewhere. The veggie omelette was good, though it met expectations without any surprises. Pancakes were as wonderfully fluffy as remembered. While the cinnamon roll was overly sweet for my taste, the mochi lilikoi was delicious, particularly the yummy, sweet jam, even if the "mochi" aspect wasn't very prominent. I'd definitely order the lilikoi again, but skip the cinnamon roll. My matcha latte was too sweet, but the staff kindly allowed me to swap it for their strong coffee, which comes with a complimentary refill!

Went to celebrate my birthday with 6 of my girlfriends and was disappointed that they keep increasing their service charge to 4% for their wait staff despite new rulings! P!us 20% gratuity was added! I didn't notice it on the menu plus they "nickel and dime" you for everything! $1.50 if you want more gravy! Don't offer if there is a charge! Service did not warrant 20% when she spilled water on my section of the table and said she would be back to wipe it up! Nada, never came back and the restaurant was not full! Used to come every 3rd Saturday when there was a plant exchange nearby....not anymore! My $14 crepe ended up $18.02! $4 more!

Always get the banana chantilly pancake, it's their specialty! So yummy and fluffy. The pancakes are very big so you can take leftovers home. I always get the two stack for that reason. Service is attentive and friendly. This place is pretty busy since the tourists (and locals!) like to go here after hiking Koko Head. It is a smaller restaurant, but very lively.

Came here for brunch on a sunday and waited about 25 min to be seated. The food is soooo good! The banana chantilly pancake is unlike any other pancakes ive had and theres banana chunks inside. The portion is humongous the short stack was enough to share among us 3. Got a side of corn beef hash and it was super yummy I love the chunks of corn beef. Also got the short rib loco moco over fried rice and it was perfection. Can't wait to come again

Great service, server was attentive and came by to our table just the right amount of times. The food did not live up to the expectations. We tried the short rib loco moco, and the meat was rather dry and tough despite the gravy. The fried rice was decent and a tad salty. The eggs were good and runny as expected. Restaurant was popular so there was a bit of a wait for breakfast.

Moana Cafe where I go to treat myself after Koko Head hike. The pancakes are huge and the lattes hit the spot. Other than that, the food is average with nothing too special. I do wish they had better hot sauce options. The wait is usually long, especially if you have a large group so plan ahead.

I had planned to hang out here and get some work done for like an hour but decided there is probably somewhere quieter to hang out. When I was heading out I made the mistake of asking the girl with the short blonde hair where the bathroom was and she's like oh to the left of the blue umbrellas... and I'm like ok... I go outside and don't see blue umbrellas, and then I finally find the bathroom which is literally right across from island brew, (that's all she had to say) and there are 2 people outside, so I ask them if they are waiting and one is... an island brew worker passes me and she has a key in her hand, so I'm like oh is that a key for the bathroom? And she's like, it's a ? key as she walks away from me, but I couldn't really hear whatever she said so I follow her down the hall to ask her what she said and she just goes in the bathroom and slams the door, which is when I realize it was probably an employee bathroom and there is a code for the other "public" door and the first girl didn't even tell it to me, the other worker didn't either... oh yeah and it's a one person bathroom FYI -- I've been here before and love love love this totally unassuming spot, there is a Safeway and longs drugs, just a big open lot then this Island Brew which is like an oasis, but never used the bathroom before... This shop is located in a strip mall right off Keahole Street. The inside of the shop was clean and brightly decorated but a bit smaller than I was expecting. Even so, they had a display case filled with a variety of scones and a coffee bar in the back. After looking over the menu I chose an iced Hawaiian honey latte along with a lilikoi scone while my dad went with a salted caramel scone. Our order was ready within about five minutes and we were quickly on our way. I first tried the lilikoi scone and really enjoyed it. It had a nice sharpness that was balanced with just enough sweetness to keep it from being overpowering. My coffee was good as well. The coffee itself was deep and rich and while I picked up a bit of sweetness at the start, the Hawaiian honey really came through on the finish. My dad also really enjoyed his salted caramel scone. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. We both enjoyed our scones and I thought my coffee was solid as well.

These scones are dense and cakey with a firm crust. The actual scone is barely sweet, with most of the flavor coming from a punchy glaze. I enjoyed the Guava Cream Cheese more because of the chucks of cream cheese, but my partner thought the Guava was too tart. The Iced Latte was a dark roast, with a little less milk and more coffee; a good pick me up on a hot day. Overall, worth stopping by if you're in the neighborhood, but come early if you want the full selection, by 10 am they were already out of some flavors.
