Went here for my birthday breakfast today and it was a truly amazing experience! We got some delicious waffles and sausage, toast, grits, the whole 9. Everything was so so delicious. My fave part was the extremely nice gentleman that helped us! He's one of the kindest people I've ever met. Told my little he was fine young gentleman and my kiddo almost cried. Another cherry on top was that put a candle in my waffle with my very brief mentioning of birthday! That was sooooo kind!! We loved it and can't wait to come back.
My acai-loving friend reached out to me while I was in Hawaii and asked if I was going to hit up Waffle & Berry because it had "the best acai bowl ever." It initially wasn't on my list, so I told her I'd hit it up if I could. The next day, she texted me again. I gave her another non-committal response. And the day after that, she reminded me again. She told me she occasionally dreams about the acai bowls here. I knew if I didn't go, I'd get a text from her every day. ACAI BOWL - 18 The acai bowl was topped with the typical fruit options: strawberry, blueberry, and banana. However, the acai wasn't soupy and gloopy like usual. Instead, it came in scoops, almost like sorbet. The server also told me I could add whatever toppings I waned, including coconut flakes, chia seeds, granola, chocolate shavings, and honey. I loved how cold and smooth the acai was. It truly felt like eating ice cream. I have no idea how they got it to have such a velvety texture, but it was incredibly unique compared to other acai bowls I'd tried. I personally thought the honey made it a little too sweet and took away from the acai flavor, but every other topping was fair game. The fruit was fresh and delicious. Overall, this was an incredibly solid acai bowl. I can't say I would dream about it, but I do think about it fondly as I'm writing this review. The staff were also super nice and friendly. When I came back a couple days later with my friends, one of the servers even remembered us, much to our surprise since the three of us are pretty generic-looking. Overall, fantastic acai bowls and attentive staff. We loved our visits to Waffle & Berry!
Waffle and Berry is such a great concept, and especially in Honolulu. We arrived on the earlier end so seating wasn't an issue. Service here is phenomenal; they are super friendly and even brought out some apple juice and OJ to our table, on the house! I prefer my acai on the firmer side, so their acai was right up my lane. It also really did taste like sherbet. The toppings (not the fruit) are free for you to disperse to your own liking. On top of the acai bowls, we also ordered 1/2 order of the Aloha Chocolate waffle with no whip, as well as an add-on order of eggs and sausage. This was the perfect amount of food for breakfast for 2, and everything went really well together.

One of the tour guides told us about this place, so we decided to give it a try. Great recommendation because it was awesome! I got the shrimp and grits with a waffle and it was on point. Great flavor, plenty of food, and I was still full hours later while we were out exploring Waikiki.
Waffle and berry is one of my favorite spots for an acai bowl! The acai is more of a sherbet texture rather than a smoothie texture, so it's more thick. There's a topping station where you can add toppings like chia seeds and honey to the acai bowl too. It's unlimited! Mr. C, the man that runs the place, is also super kind and welcoming. Whenever I bring a new person, he offers them a sample of the acai so they can try it before deciding what to get. Waffle and berry is in the middle of Waikiki. You'll have to go down some stairs to find it, but it's worth hunting down to try! There's lots of seating available and a turtle in a tank in the store to keep you company while you enjoy your sweet treat.
As always, really great experience! When doing my monthly morning walk into Waikiki, this place is such a great stop for a cool, sweet, delicious and (maybe) healthier (?) treat. In this case, my brunch! Delish food and all served with a smile from the happy workers. Acai Bowl with waffles, topped with bananas, strawberries and blueberries. Then you can self-add other toppings like coconut, chocolate bits, honey... yum! Been coming here now and then and never disappointed. I'm hooked... zzzzZZZttt!
New to the menu, gumbo! We were pleasantly surprised that they have added more delicious items. We saw that they had shrimp and grits but we came in the afternoon and that is only served in the morning. Note to self, come back in the morning for shrimp and grits! Their afternoon menu has the gumbo. This delicious meal comes with a generous portion of chicken, shrimp, sausage, rice, and incredible corn bread. Where to start? Each bite of this new menu item was so good! The chicken was super tender. The shrimp was perfectly cooked, not over done. The sausage adds more flavor to an already tasty bowl of goodness. There is a nice kick to this, as it should. And the corn bread....Honey, this is SO wonderful as a perfect compliment to the hearty gumbo. Thank you so much. We will be back in the morning for some shrimp and grits!! With an acai bowl to go :)
Berry Fact: A true berry comes from one flower with one ovary. When meeting up with a colleague, she told me firmly, that while acai bowls originated in Brazil, they are a massive staple in Hawaii's food culture and considered a must-try, iconic snack there. Hawaii popularized the version widely found in the USA, adding local toppings like papaya, lilikoi, and macadamia nuts to the frozen blended berry base. And she recommended the best place. They frequently top the "Yelp's Best..." lists! I got to meet the gentleman behind the business, Cal. He's sweet, humble, and has a great personality. As for the waffle and acai bowl: It was spoonful after spoonful of tasty eats. At one point, I started topping my waffle with my acai bowl. It's that brunch combination that pairs warm, crispy waffles with cold, thick, and refreshing acai smoothie toppings that makes it oh so alluring. The combination offers a contrast in textures and temperatures and textures (fruit, granola, nuts, and drizzled honey) that makes it moreish. Just typing about it now makes my mouth become a waterfall. Pop in if you're in the Waikiki area! If you're not in the area, it's still well worth a visit if you're in need of some healthy eats and carbs.
This açaí place has been in my list for years. So glad I finally made it there, twice in one week. Love that the açaí is not excessively sweet. One can actually taste the açaí. Another amazing attribute of Waffle and Berry is their condiment bar which allows you to control the amount of toppings for the açaí bowl. The berries are fresh. The Belgian waffle is hot and crispy. The staff is very helpful and friendly. And the music selection is awesome.
Really enjoyed Waffle & Berry! The açaí bowls were so great and refreshing, especially with the hot weather. The place had a really good atmosphere and was pretty busy, which was nice to see. Would definitely come back to try something different next time!

Short on seating inside so we found seating nearby which was comfortable. The food was made promptly. Not a lot of drink options unfortunately, and the service was pretty uptight, bordering on rude. It's Waikiki but...the service didn't impress me. Would try it again, maybe later.
If you're looking for a sweet treat first thing in the morning, this is your place! My husband and I ordered the Aloha Chocolate Waffle and the Peanut Butter Banana Waffle and they were fantastic. Not only were the waffles perfectly warm and rich, but the ice cream scoops on top were delicious! Definitely my favorite part of the meal. Highly recommend!
I don't know who needs to hear this, but this is the best açaí bowl I have ever had in my life, and it is not even close. It is also the best thing I have had on my one-week trip to Hawaii. Let me start by saying I visited this place two years ago and made it my mission to come back. Since my group of nine decided to book a trip to Hawaii, this was the first thing I added to the itinerary. And again, it did not disappoint. The service is top tier. The busser saw our large group come in and asked if we wanted to sit at a table we were eyeing, then cleaned it off for us and added extra seating so all of us could fit. The cashier was also very nice, and once your order is ready, the workers explain the toppings bar so you can dress your açaí bowl however you want (coconut flakes, granola, honey, chia seeds, etc.). I got the regular açaí bowl, and again, it is the best açaí bowl I have ever had. The açaí is thick and very rich, and you can tell the blend is real açaí and the berries on top are fresh. The topping bar is a great touch because you can customize it to your liking. It is sweet but not overly sweet or artificial tasting. It also takes a long time to melt, so you can take your time eating it. We also got a couple waffles on the side, and those were good too.

In the mornings, they are cranking! Don't be intimidated by the line, as it moves. You just need a little bit of patience, while the others in front of you figure out what they're ordering. The menu is short and sweet, with variations of waffle dishes, acai bowls and now shrimp/grits. I opted for take-out as I work nearby and I didn't have the time to dine-in. There's a black leather couch towards the corner by the food service area to wait while you watch everything unfold. While people-watching, it does not quite seem like there's a process with whom is a server vs food runner vs order taker, though they seem to get the job done either way. They do their best to clear tables as soon as the guests are done, to open up tables for new incoming guests. It's a very lively place. In case you didn't know, they're now serving up shrimp and grits! And a very healthy serving of it too. The grits itself is on the bland side (thus I grabbed a handful of black pepper packets) though it does pair well with the andouille sausage and shrimp. Though, the shrimp was on the fishier side for my liking, I really enjoyed the sausage that it came with. All in all, good on them for the expanding their horizons in offering savory options to combat all their sweets. Wishing them all the continued success in this location! read more

You would almost think, it's tourist area and it's all over priced and not tasty. NOT TRUE. Food 5/5 Service 4/5! Ambiance 4/5! It was hit, humid but it was fine and acceptable. The cream was home made you can just taste it. Fruits fresh, grits spot on, everything tasted great along with the lemonade. It's freshly made! It is not the minute maid stuff around here. Service was great, when I was putting in the order at the counter, the girls were SO informative and gave me recommendations and explained to me about the dishes that are popular and some were tourist inspired items! I also wish I saw the GUMBO. I would have gotten that if I saw it!! Decor was cute all around with photos etc. this spot has plenty of tables for smaller parties but they made it work for us for a party of 6! Thank you for everything! I recommend this spot! read more
Wow the food was delicious!! A little chaotic in the morning but the service was amazing. The staff was nice and they were very helpful. The environment is awesome and everyone was in a great mood mood. The peanut butter and chocolate chip waffles were top tier. They top it off with ice cream, which I couldn't finish, but was a great side!! Seems like all waffles come with a side of ice cream! Worth your money!! read more
This was close to our hotel so one day during our vacation, we came here for breakfast. We were heading to the beach after so we didn't want it to be something heavy. My partner and I opted to share the "Berries and Cream" with no whipped cream since it already has vanilla ice cream on it. It was good and light. At first, I thought it was weird to have ice cream on something like this and to have it for breakfast, but I guess it works out well. The staff was nice. They really get packed even on weekdays. It's located at the basement of the Waikīkī mall. It's an open seating outside of the shop and it was very busy for a Tuesday morning. We ordered a banana and whip cream waffle and waited outside for it to arrive. The waffle was so worth the price, it was chewy,crispy,and perfect texture. It was worth the exploration to find it, we parked in the attached garage and looked for a sign that said where it was located. Use Google Maps to find if you get lost. read more
Waffle and Berry made it to the top 100 Yelp reviews. It was conveniently located on the same street as our Pearl Harbor pick up as well. The restaurant is on the basement floor, accessible by escalator or elevator. Tables are first come, first serve. You order at the counter, there will likely be a line as it is popular, and they bring out you. The menus is waffles and açai bowls. They have a side of scrambled eggs and sausage. There is a side table with topping, granola, honey, chocolate chips, etc. they do not offer any alcohol, but some virgin breakfast "cocktails". My friend and I split the berries and cream, getting the vanilla ice cream on the side to keep the waffle crisp, and a side of eggs and sausage. Everything was delicious. The waffle, despite the look, was not overly sweet, and with the ice cream in the side it was easy to add just a little sweetness. The waffle was so good it did not need syrup. The best waffle I've had in the US. Eggs and sausage were so good, nice savory side. read more

Can't complain about a combination of some of my favorite things: açaí, fresh fruit, and waffles! The service at Waffle and Berry was so great and they offer modifications which is great. The waffles usually come with ice cream, but we substituted it for acai for something less heavy. The best part was unlimited toppings including coconut, granola, chia seeds, cacao nibs, and honey. Delicious! We got the Hutch, which was plenty of food for two people. read more

Great food. Wonderful staff with awesome service. We got in at the perfect time, only 2 customers in front of us. Right after we ordered the line was out the door. We had the clouds of cream, which is an acai layered with whipped cream and fruit in a tall glass. We opted for banana and blueberry. I still say they have the best acai on the island. The last few places we went to for acai it was already soup by the time we got it. W&B's acai stays frozen all the way. Also got the breakfast with waffle and grits. I haven't had real grits for a very long time. And it really hit the spot. I love mine with butter and lots of pepper. The beef sausage was so tasty and so was the scrambled eggs. I was full all day. Cal and his staff is simply amazing, don't miss this spot. read more

To be quite frank, I'm not sure what's the hype about Waffle and berry. It's located in the same underground food court as maguro bros. Upon entering the cafe, it had a really offputting scent that was kind of repulsive to me, like wet towel. I really wanted açaí bowl so I tried to not let it bug me but I would say I'm quite sensitive to smell. We ordered the açaí and the half size of the Nutella banana waffle. Basic food with expensive price points. I would say California açaí bowls are much better in terms of valuable and options. I liked that they had the granola, honey, chia seeds, chocolate chips, and coconuts at a side table so that you can put as much as you'd like. Because of the scent, we sat outside in the communal table area. It was decent but nothing special worth nothing. read more

Waffle and Berry is located downstairs across from Maguro Bros. The shop is huge with lots of seating available. I will say that there was a funky smell though, so my wife and I ordered for take out and ate at one of the communal tables outside. Acai Bowl - Wow, something so different about the texture of their acai! It was frozen, but soft and creamy at the same time. Not icy like some other places. The bowl comes with standard fruits but you can add granola, honey, chia seeds and coconut flakes at their self-serve counter yourself. Peanut butter banana - I personally thought there was too much peanut butter and not enough banana. The center was all soggy with peanut butter sauce. Overall, the service was excellent, the staff was super friendly, and I would come back for their acai bowls. read more

The acai bowls and waffles here are so good. The acai has more of a sorbet texture, which I actually love, and I really appreciate that they let you add your own toppings. The topping bar is stacked with honey, granola, cacao nibs, coconut flakes, and chia seeds, and you can add as much as you want, which is always a win. The waffles are another highlight. They are perfectly crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and have this sweet, nostalgic flavor that just hits right. The shop itself is spacious with plenty of seating, so it never feels cramped, and the staff is consistently friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to. read more

Your generosity from your staff and being open to having me film some behind the scenes and allow some flexibility is amazing. Waffle and Berry is a must have when visiting Hawaii!! I've never been a fan of acai bowls, because the ones I've tried have either been too icy, artificial. I was hesitant to try acai bowls again, but after coming here I'm so obsessed now! Their acai bowl + waffle combo was insane, the texture of the acai was so thick and creamy! No ice chunks. This is the best bowl I've ever had, also love the toppings added too! It goes so well with peanut butter. You also get a waffle on the side, our friend was really interested in the fruity pebbles waffle and asked if they could upgrade it. At the first the worker (forgive me if I'm wrong, I believe her name was Kayla!) said they couldn't, but she said you know what...let me see what I could do. She was able to upgrade it for us, and was so kind and sweet. We were actually there to celebrate ur friends birthday and she treated us so nicely before even knowing! Once she found out about the birthday, she brought out a candle for us. Such a great experience and this is one of my go-to spots now whenever I'm in Hawaii. I normally don't care for waffles, but after coming to this place, I left wanting more! I was indecisive with choosing a flavor, so I'm so glad they offered half sizes so we could try multiple flavors - this was the perfect size for my parents and I, and they loved it too! We got their peanut butter banana and berries & cream, both come with a generous scoop of ice cream. Personally I liked the peanut butter banana better because I enjoy that flavor pairing, but you honestly can't go wrong with any of their flavors. Not only is their food delicious, but their service was outstanding (and the main reason why I wanted to write this review). Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for their names, but they were so friendly when helping me pick out a waffle flavor, they made sure my family had extra plates to share and they even had complimentary coffee and water. Inside the restaurant, it was very clean, had AC, and the perfect place to hang out with friends. I can't wait to come back here and would highly recommend to everyone! read more

We visited two days in a row. The 1/2 half portions of waffles are filling. We had scoops of acai and vanilla ice cream plus sliced strawberries, bananas, kiwi and blueberries on our waffles. A unique and delicious combination. Eggs and sausage are also offered as a side dish option. read more

The food here taste so good. I had to try alot of things here. You place your order , have a seat and they bring your food to you. The service is amazing. The place is not huge... but big enough. Get there early and you might not leave lol. Love that its black owned. Highly recommend. read more

We don’t currently offer gluten-free waffles, but we do have gluten-free options—our acai bowls are always available, and from 8am to 11am, you can also enjoy our beef-smoked sausage and scrambled eggs.

Apologies, we have taken chaffles off the menu for now. We hope to do them again in the future as more locals and tourists return in the near future.
