Tropical Tribe is a cute hidden gem with tasty eats! It is located on the bottom floor of a little shopping center. It can be a little tricky to find. It is an order and pick up at the counter eatery. My daughter (an açaí bowl junkie) had read the reviews and really wanted to try an açai bowl so we set out to find it. We visited on a Monday morning for breakfast. The decor is beachy and tropical . The vibe is casual and relaxed. It has a tiny indoor seating area and a few tables outside. We sat outside. We ordered a latte, an açai bowl, and a smoothie. I was bummed that my smoothie could not be customized. The base was premade so I was not able to make any adjustments to it. Our items were ready in a reasonable amount of time. The portion size was a little smaller than we expected. As for taste, the açai bowl was good. The smoothie was a little bland, but at the same time, had a tad too much honey. Service was wonderful. We would visit again.
Tropical Tribe is a must have! My friends and I researched every açaí spot in the Waikiki Beach area and were torn whether to go for this chain or to try out something more local. We tried a couple spots and surprisingly this one was our favorite, mainly because of the portions and also because they offered two kinds of acai - Hawaiian and Brazilian. Personally, I loved the Brazilian. It had more of a nutty texture and tasted less like a smoothie. It's hard to find Brazilian acai elsewhere, so I thoroughly enjoyed it! It took about 5-10 minutes to receive our acai, which wasn't too bad. There wasn't much of a seating area though.
I had the iced coconut lavender matcha and the Hawaiian style pineapple passion açaí bowl. A delicious and sweet meal and I would absolutely come back here for the food, good service and convenience since it's right by my hotel.
A new friend recommended @tropicaltribehi close to our hotel, so we decided to check it out today. It was a little tricky to find it since it wasn't in the upper level. We stopped at Subway to ask and found it at the lower level. Hubby and I shared the Hawaiian style small bowl with premium topping, which had bananas, strawberries, blueberries, granola, and honey. It felt like I was eating ice cream. Just enough to share. Highly recommend!
Açaí bowls make for great unique tropical breakfasts. They're healthy too. Tropical Tribe is at the edge of the beach and if you need to eat inside, there is enough room to do so or take your bowl on a walk or sit at nearby tables. I had the Pineapple Paradise Hawaiian style. All the best flavors of the islands. We'll pineapple, strawberry, blueberry, coconut, açaí, and granola. Pretty much my favorites. Pop in for a tropical morning breakfast on the beach. You won't be disappointed.
This was a really good açaí bowl! I selected my own toppings and went with a fruity bowl. I want to go back and order more of a chocolate/peanut butter bowl. The employees working were really friendly and nice. The location is smaller inside, with just a couple seats, but there are tables and chairs outside to use!
As smoothy and acai bowls continue to rise in popularity, Tropical Tribe stands above the rest! Definitely in Oahu (and maybe of all time). I have been coming here for about 4 years, and his consistently been the tastiest acai bowl I have ever had. The acai isn't sorbet, and isn't overly sweet. All the fruits and add-ons are always super fresh. Each bowl is crafted to perfection. Recommend the PB dream! Tropical Tribe has multiple locations around Oahu, all of them are equally as good!
This is a hidden gem! So so good. I came here 2x on my trip. Their açaí is sweet and I love that they put a lot of honey on it. Easily my acai spot on the island
I love Tropical Tribe! This spot is located in the Discovery Bay shopping center on the corner of Ala Moana Boulevard and Hobron Lane. You can attempt to find street parking or park in the Discovery Bay parking structure ($1 for ~30 minutes or free validated parking with a $20 purchase at the store). The store itself is nestled on the bottom floor of the shopping center and is relatively small, but there are several tables outside the shop to sit at. It usually gets quite busy in the morning given tourist traffic, but the wait usually isn't too bad! The menu has a variety of options, from a build-your-own acai bowl to Brazilian cheese bread. My typical go-to is a regular-sized Brazilian bowl with the tropical toppings. The staff members at the shop are super friendly, and my bowl usually comes out in 10-15 minutes (given the wait, there's usually 5 or more people ahead of your order -- otherwise it's pretty quick when the shop isn't as busy). I always love the acai, which is delicious and smooth, and the fruits are fresh with super crispy/crunchy granola. I love how their acai base doesn't come premixed like other stores, since I'm allergic to bananas and other fruits. The customizability and freshness of the bowls are hard to beat! This is currently my favorite spot for acai bowls. Love this place!
Tasty açaí bowls! Only thing is there was too much honey that it was unbearable to eat the toppings, it was far too sweet. Otherwise just eating the base alone was tasty It didn't take too long to receive our orders. There's some tables outside of the shop for seating.
Hidden little gem located on the lower level of an unassuming strip of retailers. Next door to McDonald's. Small shop but friendly staff and delicious acai bowls with fresh fruit. Prices are reasonable for honolulu area.
Wow!! I would've come here three times a day every day during our stay if I could've. I had a yummy Brazilian sunset açaí bowl for a late breakfast. It was so delicious with all the fresh toppings, including goji berries, papaya, raspberries, kiwi, toasted coconut, granola, and a drizzle of honey. It was a bit of mystery when trying to find the entrance, but luckily after searching and searching I found a set of stairs to take me to the lower level where the entrance is located. The staff are super nice and friendly.

Tropical Tribe has the BEST acai bowls hands down. Honestly this is the only place I have gone to for açaí bowls for the past 5 years. Like so good my husband and I would come here at least once a week My go-to order is the PB Dream Brazilian-Base Bowl with a side of their cheese bread. The açaí has a smooth, authentic consistency (not overly icy or sorbet-like), and it doesn't taste overly sweet like some places do. The fruit is always fresh, and everything consistently tastes amazing every.single.time. read more
There was a bit of a mix up with my order. I ordered a Pineapple Paradise açai bowl with no coconut shavings but when they called my name I was served the premium bowl which I took the picture of. I went back and they took the bowl and gave me the Pineapple one but missed my request to remove the coconut shavings. I felt bad to ask again so I tried my best to remove the coconut pieces myself. The açai itself was super refreshing and the iced mocha was pretty good too. Other than the mix up, the food was good but I recommend getting a bigger portion one because the small was not filling enough. read more

Tropical tribe was right across the street from our hotel which was nice! I got the Brazilian style regular Acai bowl and it came out super quick. The service was so sweet and friendly. I also tried their cheese bread. The Acai was the perfect consistency and tasted so fresh. All of the fruit was cut and placed so nicely. Granola also tasted very fresh and crunchy. Looove- and much more affordable than other spots. The cheese bread was also a very fun eat. Chewy and cheesy and warm- so comforting. Should definitely stop by if you're craving Acai! They have many location in the Waikiki area. Not a lot of seating inside but you can definitely walk it back to the beach and enjoy it there! read more

We're in Hawaii so obviously we were craving acai! This place definitely fulfilled the craving. Would've given 5 stars because the workers were so sweet. However, we ordered with our friends and they ended up forgetting multiple things from our order. So overall a 4/5 :) I ended up trying: Pao de Queijo, White Choco Mac Latte, and a Tropical Tribe Bowl with Premium Toppings. The acai bowl was fresh and delicious! Your standard acai bowl. I really enjoyed the toppings on top and they were heavy with the honey which I loved! My husband enjoyed his White Choco Mac Latte! It tasted good and wasn't too sweet. I also really enjoyed the Pao de Queijo! They were decently sized and served warm. I was pretty hungry when we got the acai bowls so I was super happy to have a little something salty. Loved the chewiness. I'd definitely recommend the Pao de Queijo! read more

Always a treat when I go to Tropical Tribe. They made an açai lover out of me. In the unassuming basement of the Discovery Center is a hole in the wall spot that offers delectable bowls with a smile. Staff is pleasant with good energy. Bowls are always fresh and the perfect amount of honey. You can even add a scoop of protein powder for 1.75$ (a bit pricey in my opinion but worthwhile). FYI Parking is also available for 30m - free for spends over 20$ or 1$ otherwise read more
Very unassuming because it's located underneath a McDonald's! Ended up going two days in a row. Tried the Brazilian Premium and it was so fresh and refreshing. They don't skimp on the toppings, which is always appreciated. No complaints with customer service either! There's a few tables for seating outside the store. Parking is tough as it's in Waikiki so thankful it was across the street from our hotel. read more
We thoroughly enjoyed the Power Bowl, Premium Bowl, Tropical Bowl, and the Bulletproof coffee! The ingredients were fresh, service was quick and friendly. I immediately dug in before I remembered to take a picture. We are in Honolulu for the next three days and will be visiting daily until we leave. read more

I really enjoyed the açaí bowl here! Ordered the tropical one - coconut was okay but the honey added to the top of the bowl is a great touch! Staff was friendly and since the shop was across the street from my hotel I can a few times! Highly recommend their açaí bowls. read more
Tropical tribe is a small hidden gem in Waikiki. This is one of my favorite places to grab an açaí bowl when I'm in the area. I love getting a regular tropical tribe açaí bowl with tropical tribe toppings. The fresh fruit and bee products always taste delicious and fresh. love the guarana juice they use in their tropical tribe blend since it's not too sweet like apple juice. The workers are always friendly and quick and their bowls are always consistent. I highly recommend giving them a try if you haven't already. read more
I've always passed by this place and finally tried it out. I love acai bowls and this place certainly hit the spot. It's located at Discovery Bay Center on the bottom floor. The parking lot is on the back side of the building and Tropical Tribe does validate. I parked here for less than half an hour and it was free. I'm not sure how much it'll cost if you stay longer. The hubby purchased the regular sized carioca bowl $11.40 + $0.80 for the premium toppings. The ingredients in the carioca bowl are banana, milk powder, condensed milk, pacoca and granola. This bowl was just amazing and different. I eat a lot of acai bowls and it was the first time I saw this combo. I'm not surprised though. Condensed milk will make anything taste good, lol. I also love the acai texture from here. It's not too runny and not too frozen. The consistency is perfect. I will be back to get another one of these. read more

Located in the basement of the discovery center, next to McDonald's. I'm not sure if you can park in their building since we walked from the Hilton lagoon. This small store offers açaí and smoothies. Their açaí comes in 3 sizes and a variety of toppings. We opted for two regular bowls and ordered from the friendly worker, got our order number, and found a seat just outside the shop. It took a while for the bowls, probably at least fifteen minutes. They had a steady stream of customers coming through. The açaí uses a soy milk base and has a deep purple color. It's blended so the consistency is more fluid than icy. I liked that it was not very sweet so it balanced the honey nicely. The fruit toppings were fresh although a little sparse, only four banana pieces. I did think the upgrade for the raw honey and bee pollen was worth it. Overall it was a good açaí bowl but the sizes are a little deceiving because it doesn't fill the container (making me wish I ordered a large). read more

Cool little place on the lower level of the Discovery Bay Building. It was recommended by our tour guide and we almost couldn't find this place. We went there super early and there was a bit of a line. Smoothies and açaí bowls were super fresh. read more
Located on the lower level of the Discovery Bay Plaza, Tropical Tribe always delivers a solid Açaí bowl. They have various options or you can opt to build your own bowl. I have yet to order a duplicate bowl still have not been let down by any choice. The ambiance is laid back and service is quick. The Açaítenders are always in a happy mood and make me and my friends feel welcome. Mahalo for the great vibes and keeping me nourished on the days I'm running late for work read more

Was a bit difficult to find, honestly (it's in the basement). The cashier was kind enough to make a few recommendations (including a peanut butter-esque topping that I ended up loving), and I'm glad I followed them. I haven't had a great number of Açaí bowls, but this is definitely among the better of them. read more

After several attempts, I finally got my ideal açaí bowl today. They changed the name from the Tropical Tribe Bowl to Brazilian - I like it better as it says exactly what it is. Keep up the good work and hopefully it stays consistent. read more
My favorite acai place of all time outside of Brazil. It's the closest thing I've found to acai in Brazil and every chance I get to come to hawaii this place is a MUST!! Just the tropical base acai with premium toppings (most basic), go light on the honey, will hit the spot! Love this place! read more

It was our last day in Honolulu and we decided to look for an acai bowl around our Airbnb. We stopped by Tropical Tribe which was a walking distance away. This spot was so good! Pictured is the Power Acai Bowl that they have and it was delicious! Check this spot out as you won't regret it! read more
