    Heavenly potatoes. OMG.

Just finished an amazing brunch at Farmhouse. Wasn't sure when we pulled into the parking lot. I mean....... We walk around the corner and we were surprised at how small the place was. Maybe 30 seats. But super cute. The server was amazing and very attentive. Started with the beignets and WOW. Got the side chocolate sauce and the jam. Both were outstanding. Melt in your mouth those beignets. Sooooo good! We shared the ham sandwich.....Amazing.......the breakfast sandwich (with candied bacon).....Amazing.....then the potatoes which were off the chart good. Like heaven. Really really good. Had the side house ketchup and the horseradish dipping sauces which were both great. Can't say enough good things about Farmhouse. It was our first time there.......but it wont be our last. Our new favorite place for sure. Limited menu but everything was the bomb.

This is the omelette we got for 18$... I think the photo speaks for itself. I can make a better one at home.

How have I never reviewed this place?!? I guess I always take photos and enjoy my food that I forget to. The restaurant is really cute. Check the hours as I think it's primary a breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. The food and coffee is always good here. You should make reservations though as they do get crowded (at least on Saturdays). A MUST is to always ask what the specials are. There is a gypsy egg dish that is simply delicious - it's like an amplified version of shakshuka - sooo tasty! I also always enjoy their cured salmon. The quiche is also very good. We had this other dish (see pics) with gravy and mushrooms, it is very good but you need to order this ahead of time (when you call to make the reservation and even at that, it may not be available). We typically park on the street in the metered parking area. I believe the building does have parking, but we've never parked there.

The food was amazing and service was good. The ambiance was excellent and I loved the decor. I recommend trying the ketchup with the potato. The amount is very small for the price and you may need two depending on how much you use. The crepe forestiere was also good.

Food: delicious blue cheese on the gourmet burger. Beignets were so fresh and fluffy but also VERY messy. Save your $3 on the chocolate sauce as it was nothing super special. Service: at first not good. The second the real boss came in (chef) he turned that shop around. I guess you can make reservations but a family next to us said they couldn't even make one. So I guess it's an option but not a viable one. Ambiance: cute cobbler esthetic but the tables are VERY small. Won't be coming here to dine in again but take away is an option.

Order any of the french style pastries. They are really good. The COFFEE...soooo good. They serve great coffee!!! Smooth, low acidity, just great on the palate.

Wow, what an incredible place. The staff is so accommodating and polite. The restaurant is modern yet cozy and relaxing. The food was incredible all around. We had the Crepe Forestiere, Ham and Cheese Croissant, Potato Millie Fueille, Farmhouse Salad, Sausage dish. All foods were flavorful and fresh. Incredible experience. Will be back soon!

I came here for an acai bowl. Whenever I visit Honolulu, I like to try a new acai place, so I came here with a friend. The staff was very friendly. The place was lively with both locals and tourists. It's about a 10-15 minute walk from Ala Moana Shopping Center, so the location isn't very convenient for tourists. Rating: -Taste: 3/5 (average) -Portion size: 4/5 (just right) -Price: around $16 -Seating: 4/5 (comfortable indoor seating) -Location: 2/5 (a bit far for tourists) -Service: 5/5 (very friendly and helpful) Overall: 3.5/5 - Decent acai with excellent service, but the location makes it slightly inconvenient for visitors.

"Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself." - Coco Chanel This place had me on an emotional roller coaster! Farmhouse Cafe was a high and low foodie experience and it's not that time of the month for moi! Probably living in Japan has my standards up, but a simple greeting would be nice, right? My twin, really my best lady friend, wanted to treat me to brunch after my disappearing act in Asia. I wanted someplace easy to go to with good reviews. Farmhouse Cafe near Ala Moana Mall in the 808 building on Sheridan was my choice. Upon entering we were... eh, ngl we were not greeted and completely ignored. Alpha me could not just stand there, so after a few minutes, I looked at my twin and asked if she was up to going elsewhere. Instead she calmed me down and came to the conclusion they were understaffed. I didn't see it that way, I just saw inefficiency and zero common sense, so I decided to approach the counter even though a sign says to "Wait to be Seated". Ok, no problem waiting as long as someone greets us and tells us to wait! The lady at the counter next says to "just wait" huh? Hmm we are waiting, just acknowledge us or explain your waiting system. Jeezuz! I have low tolerance for people that won't admit mistakes or plain ignorant. So as we are waiting, the chef, Zouhair Zairi, approaches us and says to wait outside. I'm no stranger to French cuisine bro, so calm down and... and then he apologizes and explains how they are short staffed. Ah! I was tempted debating efficiency, politeness, but instead bit my tongue knowing my twin wanted to eat here. Besides she was right on they being understaffed. Oh nvm we are finally seated lol! We are handed the menus (finally) and explained to order the food and drinks at the same time by the chef! So odd, but having experienced French restaurants in the non touristy parts of Paris, I finally admitted to myself he wasn't intentionally being rude. All the time my twin only cared about what to drink lol! Let's ignore the chaos. Oui, oui! Wagyu Burger with Bleu Cheese, Demi-glace & Potato Mille-Feuille for the lady. Mediterranean Omelette with Feta, Potato Mille-Feuille, Buttered Toast with Fruit Jam for the gent. Two Hibiscus Iced Teas. French Beignets with Strawberry dip ordered for take-out. So let's talk the cuisine! If we're only reviewing the cuisine I'd be at 4-5 stars it was delicious! Everything organic, fresh, and tasty. I could taste the French in every bite and we were truly satisfied! To me, the Beignets that we shared afterwards was the star! In the end, it may have started with bad juju and my patience being tested, but fortunately I was with a kind soul that reminded me (& treated me sigh) that it may not be as it seems per se. Yes, they were understaffed, but in my eyes the three employees were sufficient if it flowed properly. Then again, we never know what's truly going on, right? In fairness, I need to mention others coming in after us were also confused and not welcomed from the start, so a universal meh. I'd return simply for the delicious cuisine by Chef Zairi, however take note that the ebb and flow of any business is just as important, especially with other $27 burger options out there! Au revoir! Breakfast croissant was good but nothing special. Had to pay extra for the egg

A cute breakfast brunch spot when I walked it. It's located in the 808 plaza along with a bunch of other eateries across from Walmart. I came here to try their burger coz it looked amazing in the photos. I also tried their beignets and the breakfast sandwich. I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich with the flattened croissant. It's your typical breakfast croissant that's on the oily side, nothing exceptional. The much anticipated burger however was too salty for my taste. I had to remove some of the spread as it's just more salt from the salted patty already. The meat quality was decent but honestly when the food was so salty, it wasn't enjoyable at all. The Mille-feuille potato was interesting, but it added a lot of grease to the already greasy burger. I only enjoyed the outer crispy part. The insides tasted just like regular potato. Also, it's definitely not worth $27 for this plate. The beignets looked off. The texture was way too soft. It wasn't worth the calories. Service was prompt and friendly. The ambiance was nice. However, the taste and the value would deter me from coming back.

I met up with some of girls at this cute little cafe on Sheridan. The Cafe is located in the 808 Center so if you are not familiar with the Center make sure you use the GPS to take you to the parking garage since you have to enter from Sheridan. The set up is very casual and open. It was pretty much packed when we came so service was a little slow and they appeared to need more help. I tried the Ham & Cheese Croissant which was perfect. The croissant was crisp on the outside and soft inside, so buttery and delicious. I also tried my friend's Crepe Forestiere which was even better. That will definitely be my pick next time as it was loaded with arugula and delicious wild mushrooms and cheese. The four of us shared an order of the Beignets with strawberry jam. Wow, I haven't had a perfect warm, crisp, tasty beignet in a while and it was heavenly. I think I would go back and eat the whole order myself next time. We also were treated to the Chef's special baked goods of the day and they were so yummy too. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Came here when we were in town for my baby's 3 month check-up appt. This has been on my go-to list for quite sometime. Parking is challenging, although it is advertised as parking lot, and valet, the valet guy told us it's only valet. They also advertise outside seating. There was a tiny table and 2 small chairs on a small lanai in front of the restaurant right next to the street. I wouldn't really call that outdoor seating. I was expecting a few tables under a nice covered area. Something cute like the cafe. The cafe inside was cute and homey. Food: I wanted something sweet and spicy so I ordered the banana crepes and the Mediterranean omelette. Both were delicious. The banana crepes are a big portion size so they are great for sharing. A little messy too! The omelette was good, it was a decent size and wasn't overstuffed with things, I loved the feta cheese. My hubby ordered the croque monsieur. It had a nice presentation. He enjoyed it and especially liked the mornay sauce. Next time I would like to try their potato Mille-feuille and beignets which is what they are known for. Chef ZZ was friendly and came out to talk to us. We told him we were traveling to Japan and he said he loved it and that we will enjoy all the food! He was very friendly and down to earth.

The progression of dishes felt thoughtful and creative-- * Crispy Salt & Vinegar Chicken Skin (the perfect starter crunch) * Soupe de Poisson (deep, comforting flavors) * Pina Colada Granita (a refreshing palate cleanser) * Pan Seared Scallops (my personal favorite--perfectly caramelized and tender) * Double Cut Rack of Lamb (succulent and cooked to perfection) * Lemon Crème Brûlée Tart (a sweet, bright finish) Every plate was elegant, well-executed, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere strikes a balance between sophisticated and welcoming. Dim lighting, intimate tables, and quiet elegance make you feel like you've stepped into a hidden gem in the middle of Kaimuki. Honestly, I felt like a celebrity dining here. Service was polished but never pretentious--our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the courses, and kept the pacing of the meal just right. For the level of creativity and execution, Carte Blanche feels like an affordable luxury in Honolulu's dining scene. One of the highlights for me was the lobster bisque. It was incredibly rich, velvety, and packed with deep lobster flavor. You could tell it had been simmered and perfected with classic French technique smooth, buttery, and absolutely comforting. I honestly could have had a whole bowl of that alone. The seafood courses were equally impressive, especially the lobster presentation and the delicate sauces paired with it. Each bite had that perfect balance of elegance and flavor that French cuisine is known for. Then came the cheese course, which was an entire experience on its own. Their cheese bar was extravagant, with a curated selection ranging from creamy brie to bold blue cheeses, served with dried fruits and accompaniments. It felt like a mini tasting journey through France. Of course, dessert was just as artistic as the rest of the meal light, beautifully plated, and the perfect sweet ending. What really sets La Mer apart is the attention to detail. The plating, the pacing of the courses, the service, and the atmosphere all come together to create something truly memorable. However, at La Mer, I think almost every dish we just didn't like. For example, the first course was a foie gras dish with cotton candy which incorporated a sweet element with the foie gras. Not a good combination in my opinion. All of the other dishes weren't bad per se, but they weren't dishes that we felt ourselves wanting to eat or wanting to finish. I know restaurants change their menu's all the time so maybe it was just the dishes we happened to get that we didn't like. The manager did come to check in on us and we communicated how we honestly felt. They did make a very nice gesture of removing 2 of our drinks and 2 of our desserts which was appreciated. On the plus side, the restaurant sits on the 2nd floor and has great views of the ocean. The decor is also nice and the service was good. Just not our cup of tea and we personally wouldn't go back or recommend.

Soup placed back into the original onion which was used as the bowl. The entire onion with the exception of the skin was edible and absolutely delicious.). The highlight for my daughter (Hale Tasting Menu) was the Abalone Risotto. Much to our surprise, we were stuffed by the time the last plate was presented. The portions looked small but the satiety factor was deceiving. We felt the value of the experience far outweighed the cost. Kudos to Executive Chef Nae Ogawa (who was not present), Chef Masaki (who was a part of curating the menu), Travis and everyone else at natuRe waikiki for a creating a memorable dining experience. We loved our visit and look forward to visiting again. We also hope to one day experience natuRe tokyo.

A thoughtful tasting menu from a Hale ʻAina award-winning chef, with highs and a few misses…read more The standout of the night was the abalone steamed in sake over green curry risotto. Absolutely dreamy!! The abalone steamed with Sake was beautifully tender, and the green curry risotto absolutely knocked it outta da park!!! The squid with cauliflower dashi foam was another strong dish. The squid was incredibly tender, and the dashi sea foam was light, airy, and full of subtle umami. A great example of the chef's precision. Overall, the cooking shows a clear command of refined, "chefy" techniques The turnip mousse with caviar and olive oil , served in a coupe-style glass, was elegant in presentation but didn't quite deliver in balance. The turnip mousse was a bit too dominant and overpowered the caviar. The mushroom duxelles ravioli stuffed with mascarpone and ricotta also fell short. The pasta was undercooked to the point of chewiness . Firmer than expected for my taste even for al dente. It definitely distracted from delicate stuffing The chicken and mushroom reduction sauce definitely carried the dish, bringing depth of flavor. From a service standpoint, one moment stood out. When asked how the ravioli was, I gave honest feedback and was told that's how the chef intended it to be. That showed lack of grace for fine dining and didn't land well. If you're going to ask for feedback, don't be dismissive and defensive of the feedback. Also worth noting: after a $600 dinner for two, we asked for espresso at the end of the meal and were told the machine had already been turned off because they were closed. It's hard to take a "fine dining" restaurant seriously, when that happens. Overall, there's a lot of skill and thoughtful technique here, with some genuinely standout dishes . But also a few inconsistencies that keep it from being a top-tier experience. Happy Eating!! 38

I purchased a nice bottle of wine for my dad and his wife's 10-year anniversary because I knew they were dining there. I triple-confirmed with the staff ahead of time that the bottle had been purchased, that it would be delivered to their table, and that the server would be aware of the arrangement. Not only was the message never relayed internally, but it created an incredibly awkward and embarrassing situation. The server apparently believed I had paid for the entire dinner rather than just the bottle of wine. My dad and his wife were under the impression that the whole meal had been taken care of. To make matters worse, the restaurant initially charged my card and then later canceled the charge. Instead of contacting me to clarify the situation, they called my dad after he and his wife had already left the restaurant to inform him that they still owed money and requested his credit card information over the phone to process the payment. Imagine celebrating your 10-year anniversary and then getting a call afterward saying you "forgot" to pay your bill. That is incredibly awkward and unacceptable. At no point did the restaurant proactively reach out to me... the person who coordinated and paid for the wine to explain the internal miscommunication. There was no accountability until I called to address it myself. Only then did they apologize and offer a future credit for them. What should have been a thoughtful anniversary gesture turned into an unnecessary embarrassment due to poor internal communication and lack of ownership. Extremely disappointing.

Under Chef Shiori Okuya, their tasting menu, was a nice way to experience the French-Japanese flavors of the restaurant. First we chose the amount of truffle we wanted for our meal. Then those truffles were shaved over multiple elegant appetizers; a Pot-au-Feu soup; a lobster fish course; oyster pasta; duck for our main; in Asian-style, a comforting rice bowl to end the savory courses; and finally even the dessert. Henry was an amazing server with flair and passion for the menu and we even took a little bit of truffle home to enjoy on soft scrambled eggs the next day. I'm quite fortunate to have had many amazing dining experiences, more than a few of them of the fine-dining-persuasion and Margotto shook me to my core. Unforgettable and completely unlike anything I've had before. It's incredibly unassuming from the outside--like a secret or a speak-easy--elegant and understated on the inside. The staff are all so warm and welcoming and you'll want for nothing the entire time you're dining. It's a coordinated dance of service. Arrive hungry and ready to spoil yourself! Opt for The Grand Degustation and get the 15 grams of truffles. This is not the time to be stingy! In fact, you really need to get the Caviar Monaka and a glass of champagne to start--the crispy wafer is a nutty delight and a perfect compliment to little fishy pearls. THEN you can move onto the ten course meal. And since I'm telling you what to do, you'd be entirely remiss to skip the wine pairing. Chuck Furuya is a demigod with a palate that is twenty-seven steps ahead of us mere mortals. The wines on their own practically sing in their glasses but when paired with each dish? The transformation of flavors? Absolutely unreal. Let us not forget about the truffles. They're fruity and earthy and succulent, without being heavy or overbearing in any way. You WILL feel spoiled and you deserve it! If I lived here, this would be my go-to special occasion restaurant, no question. You must try it for yourself.

I don't like pâté (my wife) but I'm now a fan. The grilled octopus was heavenly, like a steak, but more delicate. Our final main was the seafood Paella. Amazing. Located in Waikiki along Lewers Street near Kuhio Ave. It's on the first floor sharing the same building with Oyster Hale and Genius Lounge. They don't have any affiliation with any parking garages, you're on your own. The inside is surprisingly big and spacious with bar and outdoor seatings, and high ceilings in the main dining room. The main theme is Spanish Tapas with mostly small or bite size dishes with a few paella and main entrees. Everything sounded good! "Pinchos" dishes is really just one bite. The Smoked Salmon was nothing special. It ate like a normal salmon with cream cheese. The other flavors such as dill, pink peppercorn, and orange did not come out. The Buñuelos Butterfish Fritter were good. Light, airy, doughy! nicely fried and seasoned. Didn't really taste much butterfish. The Tapas were a generous amount! The Shrimp Ajillo was flavorful with paprika and garlic. Shrimp was cooked well. The spice didn't come out from the dried chili peppers. The best was the Housemade Baguette! Warm, soft inside, crunchy outside. Better than at Vietnamese restaurants! Unfortunately, the dish and sauce was too salty--even for a person who likes more taste. The Octopus Ala Gallega was very good. Nicely grilled octopus to tender with a nice charred taste. Just needed some salt. Potatoes were good. Chimichurri sauce was flavorful. Generous amount of olive oil. The Uni & Crab Pasta was all right. I've had better. The spaghetti was a touch too Al dente. The flavor was very one note with the rich cream sauce and uni. There wasn't the sweetness from the crab. The cherry tomato was just there to be there for a bite. Would have been nice to get some acidity and sweetness throughout the dish. The Seafood Paella was very basic. Very disappointed with zero char on the rice. What's the point of the pan? It definitely needed higher heat. Everything ate like it was covered and simmered on low heat until the seafood was cooked. Very simple. The Ube Basque Cheesecake was good. Not too sweet, not too much Ube flavor with a light custard-like interior. Overall, this was a decent meal. All the dishes were beautifully presented, but needed some seasoning adjustments. Don't think I'll order the same dishes next time. The service was excellent. Very friendly, information, and attentive server. Comfortable dining area. Unfortunate it has no parking affiliation. I'll definitely comeback for their Housemade Baguette!

The restaurant validates parking, $8 for 4 hours, tip not included. For my son's 18th birthday he wanted to eat pasta. After looking at many Yelp reviews, we ended up making reservations at Taormina. Unfamiliar with the menu we decided to do the five tasting course. As of 4/22/26 the base price is $125 and depending on what you choose, there are some add ons. For example the carbonara was +$25 and the Ricci di mare was +$18. Food: the Focaccia bread was free and comes with free refills. The salmon with caviar was really good. It had the perfect balance but very small, about 1.5". The next dish was the baked abalone. That was also very delicious but two bites and it's over. At this point, we were starting to think we would leave hungry. The next dish was the pasta. We tried both the carbonara and the Ricci di mare. Both were very good. The carbonara came with freshly slices truffles and thick crispy pieces of bacon. Highly recommend for truffle lovers. I'm not a huge uni fan but surprisingly the Ricci di mare was also really good. Of note, the pasta in the five course tasting is half the size of the regular order. Even at half the size, I felt the serving portion was good. I felt satisfied but not full. The next dish was the main course so filet mignon and monchong. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly but I personally didn't like the sweet sour balsamic vinegar taste that was drizzled over. I would have preferred it to be more savory. The monchong was okay but a little overcooked for my liking. The portion size of the main course was good. Lastly was our desert but to our surprise, they brought out a nicely written happy birthday platter with half a lava flow desert and a small scoop of ice cream. My son really enjoyed it. The creme caramel was also good and reminded me of flan. Service: the waitress did her job but I personally felt we had better service entering the restaurant and being seated. She had no smile, did not offer any recommendations, and no small talk which is fine but noticeable. Our bill came out to $463.87 tip not included. Though we really enjoyed the salmon and abolone I'm not sure it's worth the price and the extra three bites. Next time I would just stick with the pasta. If we had just ordered the full order of pasta our bill would've been $195.
