Guieb is a wonderful brunch spot. This original location is hidden in the same complex as Diners on North King Street, just a baseball throw away from the Kalihi Post Office. We enjoyed the longsilog (sweet Filipino sausage) and eggs as well as their breakfast ribeye special that I added some blackened mahi. It does get busy on the weekend so I suggest you come early, because there are not that many seats. The staff quickly refilled our water glasses and coffee. I heard that this location maybe temporarily closed so check out their sister locations in Aiea and Wahiawa. The ube pancakes are to die for. #bigboyproblems
Food is made fresh, with fresh products. Inside of the restaurant has intimate small number of seating. Loved the taste, options, and the attention to detail.
Came here for the first time in a while. The prime rib loco moco was cold and tough like it was sitting so that was pretty disappointing. The eggs, gravy, and garlic fried rice were delicious. The Ube pancake was super delicious just like I remembered. Staff were friendly and fast. Theres a good amount of tables to dine at, but it can get busy. Lots of parking, but it's tight so leave your huge trucks at home.
We've been wanting to try this place based on the Yelp reviews. So, we finally made our way here! Free parking is available but when it's busy, you will need to exercise some patience. As we entered the restaurant, it was BUSY!! As soon as a table opened up, we were promptly seated the overall atmosphere is what you would expect at any family diner. A bit noisy but l, it's local family-style. I ordered the corned beef hash and hubby ordered the Da Three-bite Feast. Portions are very generous and the plates have great eye-appeal. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. For me, the gravy was a little salt-heavy for my taste but, looking at the crowd I. The restaurant, take out traffic, and line outside, the seasoning is okay for most others. Our server was wonderfully attentive considering how busy they were. If you haven't tried this place yet, it is worth a visit.
Went to Guieb for breakfast and they have a new menu and new breakfast items on their menu. We tried the strawberry beignet which came 4 with strawberry filling which was very good. I had the Lechon Kawali breakfast come with adobo rice, which was very good and the sauce was also tasty to dip the Lechon Kawali in. My wife ordered her regular adobo rice plate which she always enjoy. Because of the flavor and moist adobo chucks of meat mixed in with the rice.
I ordered the Adobo fried rice omelet with a Lechon add on the omelet was quite tasty although the Lechon was mostly fat it seemed like a very fatty cut but at least it tasted decent. Broke da mouth! The combination of the grilled pineapple, creamy avocado, and peppery arugula was absolute perfection. Every bite had the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and fresh flavors. The burger was juicy, the onion rings were crispy, and the sweet potato fries were delicious. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had--I'll definitely be back! The service was great too. Didnt have to ask to be refilled it was automatic. The Restaurant was smaller than I thought however they are moving to a bigger location in downtown.
Had a work brunch there the other day. Spent a good 30-45 mins after our meal discussing work and life and not once were we rushed out. Infact, the staff here kept refilling our coffee and water! The aloha spirit from the staff is impeccable! Oh and unto the food! Between my colleagues and I we ordered their Oreo Cheesecake Pancakes, Adobo Fried Rice Omelette with Lechon Kawali and Crab Cake Benes. I won't go into detail to bore you and lose your attention but everything was delicious and was shared between us. A work team that eats together, stays together and Guieb definitely helped lol. Will be back!
Always a great experience... consistent. Always friendly staff here. We like the Loco Moco, Ube Mar Capone pancakes and Bangsilog! Def a go to breakfast spot. Easy to get to by bus!
Guieb Cafe might just be our favorite breakfast spot in Honolulu. There was a line when we arrived, but it moved quickly and was absolutely worth the wait. The dining area isn't very large, but service is efficient, so the turnaround for dine-in is faster than expected. We ordered Da Local with Portuguese sausage, spam, bacon, tomatoes, white and green onions, and cheddar cheese, paired with garlic fried rice. Every bite delivered. We also tried the Loco Moco Fried Rice with a wagyu beef patty, which was rich, savory, and cooked perfectly. To end the meal, we shared the Poi Mochi waffle made with pounded taro root and served with haupia sauce. It was the perfect sweet finish without being overly heavy. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the rest of the menu.

One of my favorite restaurants to eat at on Oahu! The location is hard to find in a small run down looking strip mall and parking is crowded AH and there's usually a line to get a table BUT IT'S WORTH IT! The servers are all super friendly and attentive and the orders are accurate and come out quickly. My faves are the Adobo fried rice omelet with lechon kewali and Ube pancakes but everything we've ever had is ono!! read more

* Umi pancakes 3.5/5 * Crab cake 4.5/5 * Loco moco 3/5 -Umi pancakes we're nice and fluffy. Needed more purple butter. Was just missing a little bit more of a kick or something special to it. - crabcake was definitely the star of the meal. I don't like seafood, but this was really good. Not too fishy nice egg on top went well with hot sauce. - the Loco mocha wasn't bad but I've definitely had better. The gravy was nothing special and the meat could use more seasoning and a lighter cook. read more

This place was aight. Super busy when we went, was pretty proper. Overall just a chill spot, nothing too crazy. Portions felt a bit small and the beef patty on the moco loco was a bit dry. My friends ube pancakes were fire tho, def would be a higher review if I got that ngl. read more
What do you do when you have a 4 hour layover at the airport? Visit Guieb Cafe! Adobe loco moco was so good. Huge portion. And the Kalifornia Burger was perfect. Order it at Medium Rare or Medium. Juicy and cheesy. Will need extra napkins. The staff was very nice. Food comes out quick. We got lucky and sat right down at 10:30 am. By the time we left the place was packed. Good spot! read more
I finally checked out Guieb in Kalihi (same area as Diners) just off North King Street. Parking can be a little snug if you're driving a big vehicle, but trust me it's worth the effort. I ordered the Ube Mascarpone pancakes topped with fresh fruit plus a side of longanisa, and wow! The pancakes were soft, fluffy, and perfectly cooked. I just wished there was more mascarpone because it was so good. Even with a full house, the food came out fast, the service was on point, and I left stuffed and extremely satisfied. Solid eats, great service, and definitely a spot I'd come back to. Highly recommend. read more
Had it not been for Yelp I wouldn't have stopped into Guieb (King St). The location isn't great. Its parking was cramped. The strip mall this place resides in leaves something to be desired. It's a modest cafe with descent seating. I couldn't locate a bathroom inside so maybe it's outside somewhere? What matters most is the space was clean and the employees were attentive, hard working and kind. I ordered the Ube French Toast with a side of eggs over medium and a carbonated mango drink. My friend ordered a steak special with fried rice and eggs sunny side up. I thought my food was a coco-nutty Ube delight. It was a fun meal but I thought the price was steep for the plate. I paid $16 for the French toast and $6 for two eggs. I know prices are high in Hawaii but it seems like a stretch for 2 slices of French toast. I wouldn't order the Mango-mosa again. It was a cute yet tiny drink with little flavor for $5. Fortunately my friends plate had more generous portions and she truly loved and devoured her meal. We also tried their beignets. I've had beignets before that were closer to what you might get in New Orleans. This to me is closer to a fried doughnut with some filling on top and in the middle. read more

This was off the beaten tourist path and worth the adventure. The dining area is small and feels cozy like dining with family. I would buy the ube marscapone in a bucket. I took one bite of my pillowy soft French toast and it felt like my problems went away. The service was fast and friendly. The only thing I didn't like were the beignets they tasted like the oil was used for something else, the concept se3m3d amazing. I hope to dine here again before leaving the island. read more
Don't let the line scare you away! It is worth a try! Ube mascarpone pancakes are to die for, super fluffy and delicious. I'm a sucker for anything ube, not too sweet just perfectly done. This is one of our favorite places. We've been to both the Kalihi and Wahiawa locations. Staff is attentive, friendly, and provide quick service. We were seated immediately and given menus. This last time, I got the adobo fried rice with lechon kawali (my favorite) and my husband got the poi mochi waffles with a side order of eggs. The food was delicious as always. The adobo fried rice was generous with the adobo, with large chunks of meat all over. Other places usually just have a few tiny pieces or shreds. A thin scrambled fried egg blanket covers it. The lechon kawaili is not tossed up in the vinegar sauce, but it's served in a little cup on the side instead so you can control how vinegary you want it. My husband enjoyed his poi mochi waffles. It was crispy outside, with a slight chewiness inside from the mochi flour. It's served with a white coconut syrup in a cup so you can control the amount. There's a restroom in the back. You have to pass through the kitchen to get to it. read more
So many great options on this Filipino-Hawaiian inspired menu! It was hard to decide so I just had to go with what I was craving that day - corned beef with eggs! I know it should really go with rice but couldn't resist when I saw you could upgrade to sweet potato fries. We also had the longsilog and the ube french toast. Overall food was pretty good, but my portion was just alright on the corned beef and sweet potato fries weren't very crispy. I wish I had gone for the 3 Bite flight which features a mini version of three of their top items! The longanisa was cooked really nicely, probably the best item we got. I also liked that the ube french toast came with both ube and coconut sauces. Food did come out quickly though which is a must because that place is tiny inside, so quick turnover is definitely needed. I don't think I'd necessarily need to come back again but I'm glad we tried it out. read more

This is a casual brunch spot with yummy sweet and savory brunch options. We ordered the ube mascarpone pancakes - the pancakes were fresh and fluffy and ube cream was super delicious!! Wish there was more of the ube cream in between each pancake stack rather than just on top (but probably healthier this way lol). Also ordered a veggie omelet for something a bit healthier - it was overall a decent omelet with a LOT of cheese. read more
Decent hole in the wall cafe. Nothing fancy but they have an interesting menu with a lot of options serving both breakfast and lunch items whenever you go. No alcohol is served here. I had the sampler plate with popular 3 things for $24. I wouldn't order this item again nor would I get any of the items individually because none were amazing (IMHO). The plate was the exact size to hold each item so if you don't like your food to mix together this is not the thing to get. The height of the locomoco made it hard to eat on a narrow space. The wagyu beef loco moco was my least favorite. Despite it being "wagyu" beef patty it was very dense and hard. I've had better patties at zippys and I don't even like zippy's. I'd rather the meat be less packed together and more fall apart/ tender. The egg on top was perfectly cooked and the rice tower made it stand tall on my tiny plate which was bursting to contain the 3 items on it. The gravy was very rich, kind of salty, not amazing. The crab cake egg Benedict was my fav out of the 3 but I wouldn't order it again on its own. The crab cake was a hash brown with imitation crab inside of it. Interesting take on a crab cake. Hash brown was crisp. Egg perfectly cooked. Hollandaise sauce was bland. There was avocado in it too but the avocado was brown and not fresh. The ube pancake was dry and bland, the only thing it has going for it is the ube butter cream on top. Otherwise it was dryyyy. And crumbly. It needed more sauce/ butter/ flavor/ anything but just purple. Hubby had the ube French toast and it was like dessert. Very sweet. He ordered a side of bacon and eggs and the eggs came out immediately leaving him waiting for the rest of his food separately. Coffee was good. They refilled our cups without us having to flag anyone down. Service was prompt. Plenty of parking. They do military and KUPU a discount of 10%. read more

I had the prime Rib Loco Moco and my friend had the Cajun Ahi. R decided to split and share our entrees. I thought the Cajun Ahi was pretty good. I ordered the Prime Rib medium rare. I think the Prime Rib was a pretty good portion. It was however a little on the tougher side as i really had to cut through it with their knife. Maybe would have been better to have gotten a steak knife instead. The presentation was good and just wanted to dive in. I was kinda hungry. Lol. I like that the eggs over easy were not broken. I like to break that yolk over the rice and gravy. That's a winning combination for me. The waitress was really nice. She had a good humor and personality to her. It's kinda like seeing a friend you haven't seen for a while. The whole staff was very happy and very attentive. It's a good ohana type of feeling. read more
Finally got my ube pancakes and Portuguese sausage!! They were both very yummy! Luckily we got here at a good time, like 9am so we beat the rush. It's a pretty small space, but plenty of seating! We ordered Chicken and Waffles, Ube Pancakes, Longsilog, and a Cali Wrap. My son loved the chicken and waffles, "best ever" in his own words. The Longsilog with over easy eggs were fantastic. The Ube pancakes were delicious, especially the mascarpone, which we cheated and used on the waffle as well. My wife said the Cali Wrap was great as well. read more

10/10 dining experience all around! Stopped by for a quick brunch before an appointment. Was pouring rain, so about half empty. The way Guieb does its meals is just how I like to eat -- a little bit of everything that sounds good! Highly recommend Da Three Bite plate. You get a little loco moco, crab cake Benedict, and the most delicious ube pancakes you'll ever have in your life. I wish more restaurants did samplers. Nothing but ono grindz. Best of all, service was excellent. Ladies working were all so kind and attentive. We'll be back soon! read more
Perfection!! I should of reviewed this gem a while back. But I am selfish and don't want more people to come! Haha We love this place. There is nothing bad here. Service is great. Be prepared to wait. Smaller tables and 4 and less move faster. If you have a large party, be ok that it will take a while, this is a small place but so good! My only suggestion would be to season the beef more or better in the loco moco patty. But still amazing. For our family of 5 with growing boys who eat and order as full grown adults the average is $75. read more
This was probably my favorite breakfast place in Oahu, HI. We didn't have to wait long (no reservations were allowed, just walk ins) and at the time we came - it was convenient that it was happy hour! Therefore our dish was HALF OFF. However, even it wasn't for that deal, I still would've loved the experience. We ended up ordering their popular dishes: ube mascarpone pancakes, crab cake, and the country fried steak. My favorite was the ube mascarpone pancakes - nothing has topped it back here in California. It was so so so good. Definitely recommend coming in here! Wished we came more often read more
