I stopped by here two nights ago with my father for dinner. We had landed in Oahu earlier in the day and after checking into our hotel were looking for a somewhat light dinner. After browsing on Yelp I found Honolulu Tacos. Even knowing the address, this place was a little tricky to find. In any case, it ended up being one of six small stalls all next to each other with shared seating. There was a single lady working here on this day and she quickly took both my order and my dad's and our food was ready quickly. For dinner on this evening I chose a carnitas taco, a Korean taco and a fish taco while my dad went with the three crispy tacos. Our food came out at about the same time and since we were tired we decided to take it back to our hotel room. Once there I worked my way through all three tacos. First up was the carnitas which had a nice pork flavor and was incredibly moist. Second was the Korean taco which reminded me a lot of the carnitas but with kimchi added in for a bit of tang and extra flavor. Last but certainly not least was the fish taco which was larger than the others and ended up being really good. The breading was crispy while the fish inside was tender and I also enjoyed the sauce they put on it. My dad enjoyed his crispy tacos as well, even if he thought the price was a bit on the higher side. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. We both enjoyed our food and I really liked the setup with the small food stall pod. read more

The carnitas tacos were delicious! Service was great, made to order. Salsa was also delicious with the perfect spice! Price was very reasonable, will be returning and recommend! read more

Always a bummer to have to write a negative review, but it was tough to find goodness in my visit. The woman at the counter was very unfriendly, and didn't explain my nacho options at all when I asked what was standard/available. Another woman joined and was a bit more helpful, asking afterwards what toppings I did or did not want. The chips were fried fresh, which I think it the positive I can find. The steak was hard as rocks, cooked literally to death. Toppings were sparse, and nothing appeared or tasted to be fresh made (cheese sauce, salsa, etc.) The worst of the bunch was what they are claiming as Horchata. It was awful, literally water with cinnamon sprinkled on top. It gave a bad name to horchata in the worst way, and was a waste of $3.50, I didn't drink more than two sips. Always want to support a small business, but this wasn't a great experience for food, service or drink unfortunately. read more

Honolulu Tacos - "Horchata" aka water with cinnamon. Don't get this. - Tacos Near Me - Honolulu, Hawaii

The 3 crispy steak tacos were sooooo awful. 0/100. Store bought shell, a few pieces of lettuce, chewy gray "steak" and a small drip of sour cream $15!!! Stick to the street tacos the carnitas taco was good, the kalbi was meh, chewy and bland is the vibe here: Much better places in Waikiki. read more

I needed to eat something quick before I started work. I was going to try one place, but the guy ignored me so I went next-door here. I told the woman that I was in a hurry and needed something quick and asked what she recommended she said taco. I asked her what kind she said chicken and I said one or two and she said two and it was delicious! $10.37 for these delicious chicken teriyaki tacos. Super happy that the first place ignored me and I discovered this place. It is going to be one of my new regular spots when I work at the Waikiki shopping Plaza location. read more

The tacos here were as bland as taking in a mouthful of sand, the shell taste as though they were store bought, the little amount of meat they had were unseasoned and taste like nothing, and 3 tacos the size of my palm costing $15 is just unheard of. To top it all off the staff here are some of the most unfriendly people I've met with horrible service. Taco Bell would've offered better service and food. Would not recommend. read more

The food was average at best. Street taco was ok, decent flavor, green salsa was good. Fish taco was overcooked, needed flavor. Did not care for flavor of Korean pork, carnitas was decent flavor. Kalbi taco was the best one out of all. There really is no service as the lady took our order and that was it. The restaurant isn't the easiest to find as it's tucked back with some others. read more

Based on Ubereats delivery: The steak taco presented well, the taco was flavorful thanks to the salsa, onions and cilantro & the quality of the steak was good but the steak tasted like it was very lightly seasoned so I wouldn't repeat that order. The Korean taco presented and tasted like a carnitas taco with leafs of Kimchee. The cheese quesadilla with that homemade delicious spicy salsa doesn't disappoint, highlight of the meal & the reason I'll return. read more

If they can mess up a simple dish like bulgogi over rice (gristle-y, burnt, sad, no veggies), then imagine the tacos. I was grossed out by the salsa and kimchi bar, looked very unsanitary. The fish taco tortilla was hard and too chewy. We were fooled by the unusual high rating on Google (4.5) then realized that everyone + Joe Schmoe is on Google -- whereas YELP is more foodie-oriented and accurate. read more

With my husband on the mainland and a long day with baby, I ordered via Uber Eats for a stress free dinner time. My order arrived exactly as ordered and did not disappoint. I ordered the Korean tacos, veggie burrito, and cheese quesadilla. The veggie burrito was larger than I imagined it would be, and it was really good. The mild sauce that I opted for had a nice little kick, but not too overpowering. The Korean tacos were tasty little bites that were the perfect size. I also ordered the plain cheese quesadilla for baby and it was plain and simple but that was exactly what I was looking for. Nonetheless, it still tasted good. The delivery driver told me this place just opened up. I will definitely order from here again or even walk to their location when I'm not feeling so lazy. read more

Great tacos and excellent prices! Definitely a hidden gem in downtown Waikiki. Tucked in the back of the Royal Hawaiian food stall / alleyway behind Betty's burgers. The first time I came here, I had 3 tacos and I thought they were good. I came back today and ordered a steak taco salad, and the seasoning and steak was not good. I couldn't bring myself to finish it, so I saved it for my boyfriend and he didn't find it to be edible either. I'm not sure what was used for the steak/seasoning but it reminded me of when I worked in a cafe and we would just leave the chicken soaking in hot water all day while being served lol read more

I ordered nachos and was so disappointed. What I got was just a handful of plain chips with some melted cheese thrown on top. No toppings, no seasoning, nothing that makes nachos worth ordering. This is more like stale chips with cheese sauce than actual nachos. Definitely not worth it. read more

Small tacos and the smallest quesadilla I've ever seen, employee or owner response to review "order more if you eat that much". Good luck with that mentality. This is down an alley in a food court style part of town, so the ambience is nothing special but it's A decent bite when you're looking for food quickly! The best part about this spot is the hot sauce, woo! It's delicious and spicy. Service is ok, not very friendly, just there. No fountain sodas only bottle water and cans of soda. Food and service. We visited this establishment on our last day in Waikiki. They gave us a menu and and didn't distinguish between the two locations who had what menu items. My party wanted to order the New York, the crispy tacos, and the carne asada fries which were no longer on the menu. We ordered the carne asada street tacos, Korean pork taco, carnita taco, and teriyaki chicken burrito. The carne asada was not seasoned, and there was no teriyaki on the burrito. The chicken on the burrito was not trimmed of the fat. This was very disappointing. As native Floridian we know Mexican food. read more

This is an outdoor food stall with a communal dining area. It is tucked in an alleyway with a few other food stalls. Don't expect a traditional Waikiki dining experience. Overall the food at Honolulu Taco was decent. I started with the Korean Burrito which had rice, beans, pork, pickled carrots, and a surprising amount of lettuce. I didn't get a strong Kimchi flavor but the burrito had some spice to it. It cost $10 and I would give it a 3. I also ordered the kalbi taco for $4.25. It was smaller than I expected but the flavor of the Kalbi with the shredded cabbage in a corn taco shell topped off with mild verde sauce was great! I really enjoyed the flavor combinations and I would give it a 5. Food was fast and relatively healthy. read more

Unfortunate to write this... Ordered via Uber Eats. Arrived in decent time however instructions were not followed. - NO ONIONS - was notated on the menu item during order. Now with a burrito filled with chopped raw onions I have no dinner. Well... Not "no dinner", I did graze the Uber eats free quesadilla which was a flour street taco folded with cheese. Now... To rummage the pantry for the remainder of my hunger. read more

I just ordered through ubereats. I ordered 2 burritos, two steak quesadillas, and two horchatas. I didn't get my other quesadilla rip-offs . The horchata was so watery. I'm spanish, and I've had better horchata in Kissimmee Florida. Don't come here...Ubereats won't give me credit. read more
