My wife brought me here to celebrate my birthday. Our food was delicious. We also had the pleasure of having Christian, as our server. I travel a lot for work, so I'm always eating out at different restaurants. Christian was one of the best servers I've seen in a long time. You could tell he loves his job. He had a great personality and attitude. Checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything. I believe he was working at least five tables and he was interacting with each table this way. He did not give off the impression that you were bothering him because you wanted a refill on your beverage, needed more napkins, etc. He's a great asset to Giovanni Pastrami. My wife and I both agreed to go back to this restaurant at least one more time before we leave Honolulu and ask to be seated in Christian section. Great job Christian!! read more

As soon as we arrived, we waited for about 5 minutes to be seated and was offered a high chair or booster seat as soon as we sat down. I ordered the Pasta Primavera that came with a piece of garlic bread and a glass of their Red blend. The Primavera was sooo delish! It was served with anchovies, challots and their house made creamy sauce. It paired soo well with the glass of wine I ordered. The waitress who served us gave me a few extra pieces of Garlic bread because my food order wasn't submitted to include the garlic bread. She was so nice and helpful. STAY AWAY - Horrible Service/Food We made early reservations 5:15p and the hostess sat us in the bar. We wanted to sit in the dining room not the bar and she gave us same lame excuse that they were doing a shift change and could not sit in the dining room. The bar smelled like old alcohol drains and have not been cleaned in years. Once our food arrived my pastrami sandwich was super dry and had to flag another server down for some deli mustard. Our other sandwich had stale bread and hardly any turkey that was dry and failed to have avocado that was on the menu. Would never return to this place. We've dined here a few times during our stay in Waikiki. The restaurant is quite large and clean and the staff have always been friendly and knowledgeable. We've tried the breakfast once and it was okay. Not a memorable experience for the palate but it got the job done. My children are small and they were still hungry after they finished their $11 kids breakfast meal. Portions are far from generous for a kids meal. I liked their pizza the most which seems to be the consensus for this place. So I'd recommend the pizza. My honey and I wandered in on a leisurely walk through waikiki to catch some play off basketball and were promptly seated at the bar. The portion sizes were good and the food fresh, although the menu was wayyyyy extensive (not sure if that's actually a bad thing, as we're indecisive). That being said, there's something for everyone on the menu, and we'd definitely bring family and friends back for a cold beer and good service. We celebrated Mother's Day yesterday at Giovanni Pastrami with a party of 18, and we would highly recommend this place! Our server, Ricky, was amazing -- super friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our food came out quick, fresh, and hot, especially impressive with such a large party. The GM, Laurie, was the sweetest! She gave all of us mama's beautiful roses for Mother's Day, which was such a thoughtful touch. She also gave my mom a few special treats made by the manager/chef Marissa herself... but of course the keiki spotted them right away and had to have some Overall, we had such an amazing first experience there, and we'll definitely be back. We waited twenty minutes before receiving our drinks. Another twenty minutes passed: our food order was taken. After fifty additional minutes, only four meals came out. In fact, management had the audacity to present us with a bill for six meals (plus an automatic 18% gratuity) even though we had only received four meals. After ten additional minutes of waiting, we finally received our meals in a to-go bag. I ordered the chicken parm sandwhich and it was average: minimal sauce, slightly melted cheese, and hard bread. The Mac salad is very mayo based, so if you don't like that, then don't order it. She ordered it medium well, but it did come out between medium rare and medium. She said it was delicious also. My BIL had the spaghetti bolognese which he said was good, but the bolognese was a little too thick for him, as he likes it like marinara. I told him he should've gotten the marinara as the bolognese looked fantastic. My wife got the sky high turkey with onion rings and Russian Dressing on the side. She said the sandwich was excellent with the exception of the toasted bread was a little state. Next time, she'll order it with grilled bread. I got the GP Dip which when it initially arrived, I thought it was lacking some on the amount of meat. I was wrong. There was plenty of meat, the au jus was outstanding and the horseradish aioli was spot on. Overall, it was an excellent sandwich and I would definitely order it again. I did order the onion rings and found that the Russian dressing makes an excellent dip for the onion rings. They definitely don't short you on the rings, which is very nice. Wasn't planning on going there to eat but we were in Waikīkī and my husband was hungry and we decided to eat here. We were greeted with a friendly host and got seated right away in a booth. I was very pleased that they knew what people would want. We got water served right away while we make our decision what to order. The upstairs had a bar and more seating. There was an area upstairs for a band to play. The bath room reminded me of cheese cake factory only disappointment was that it smelled pee and wasn't kept clean like the other stall hand wet toilet paper in the seat. The stall I used smelled pee on the floor and the stationary pad trash was open, the toilet paper was not in holder but outside. Again it could be that they were busy or short handed. The music played while we entered and then it stopped for 15 min. It then returned and the television that played sports; there was no sound. The food my husband ate was good which was the burger and I just ordered soup... it wasn't that hot, the noodles was like spaghetti and not noodles for noodle soup... it did lack taste. But all in all it was a good experience unlike other Resturants I been too. Just needed some improvement on certain things was night time is probably more enjoyable considering the atmosphere and food. Go check them out. I'll probably be back again to eat there. read more

The chili bowl was brought out at room temperature. They claim their pizza is thin crust. It is not thin crust. there is nothing thin or flat about it. So we couldn't eat it all bc its thicker than they claimed. If we knew that we would have ordered the small size. True thin crust pizzas can easily be eaten when bought as a large for 2 people. Overall, we could not eat all of our food because they simply brought everything out at the same time. None of the food tasted good at all not even the pizza. The caesar dressing tasted watered down. I've had frozen pizzas that taste better. Bad service and bad food. Highly do not recommend this place at all. read more
