Tagliatelle Pomodoro e Crema con Gameretti (bottom) and Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare

This place came highly recommended by a couple we met at breakfast and so glad they mentioned this place! We went on a Monday at 6 PM and it was a 45 minute wait for 2, but we were also offered a small table in the bar where we could be seated right away and we took it! They have a delicious complimentary focaccia bread with a drizzle of olive oil. We ordered the Tagliatelle Pomodoro e Crema con Gameretti and Spaghetti ai Frutti di Mare. There was a generous amount of seafood on the Frutti dish and shrimp on the Gameretti dish. The pasta was cooked PERFECTLY al dente. Wow. Came out piping hot and overall one of the best Italian places I've been to.

Made reservations online via OpenTable for a party of 2, on a Friday night at 7p. Located on the ground floor of Waikiki Beach Marriott with outdoor and indoor seating available. This evening, it was rather humid, thus we requested for an indoor seat. We waited along the side of the restaurant (bench waiting area) and got sat within 5 min of checking in to the host stand. Kaitlyn was our server and she was super friendly and accommodating. For some odd reason, the 2-top next to us had 3 different couples sit and then request for another seat, perhaps it was too tight of an area for them. Know that if you're ordering anything from a cart, whether that's the cheese wheel risotto or gelato (both table side service) you may want to check with your server before ordering as there are tight aisles and corners to which the team may not be able to reach your table. Overall the food was tasty, and the portions were reasonable. It's much more bustling at this location than that of Kahala and Beachwalk, it has a different type of vibe, if you know what I mean.

Awesome outdoor indoor pasta place in the heart of Waikiki, just feet from the beach! We tried many different pasta dishes, and calamari. All delicious and great to share. Fantastic service and very busy so it's a great atmosphere for any meal or date night!

Food was excellent! So much flavor. Definitely recommend. Service was incredible polite, positive, and amazing hosts. However, service was slow. Only because they were very busy!

10 stars! Located next to the Marriott, they have indoor and outdoor seating. We had reservations and we were seated immediately. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. They put Italian love into every dish! The decor is like sitting in Italy. Fresh focaccia bread is served with dipping oil. What we ordered: *insalata caprese * Lasagna- homemade noodles * rigatoni cacio e pepe- prepared in large Parmesan wheel. * a bottle of Italian wine * complementary Mago gelato The food was bursting with flavor!! My pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente. Highly recommend a meal here.

Great-tasting food with complex flavors. For appetizers, we ordered the Arancini Siciliani, which had a deliciously cheesy, soft interior with a satisfying crunch on the outside, complemented by a flavorful sauce on the side. For our main courses, we had the Chef's Favorite Pizza and the Spaghetti al Ricci di Mare--both were excellent. The pizza featured a very thin crust, and the cheese had a bold, rich flavor. The spaghetti was equally impressive, with a creamy, delicious sauce. However, I do wish they had added a generous portion of uni on top, as that would have elevated the dish even more. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was comfortable, making for an overall enjoyable dining experience.

Yum food, excellent service, pretty reasonable price! We were seated right away and had excellent service from all. Tables are close together and it is crowded and lively! Make a reservation! The restaurant is pretty busy. Drinks were good and not too strong. Food was great!! Pasta was al dente and tbh had similar flavors but were overall good. Uni pasta was weak on uni taste. My fave was the mushroom pasta!! We also shared a pizza that was interesting and good! The shrimp was small but still very tender. Carpaccio di Capesante: scallop sashimi starter was sooo yum. Highly recommend!!! I learned I really like sea asparagus LOLLLL Overall would come again for a break from local food!

    Spaghetti Alla Carbonara
    Chris V.

Carbonara is one of my top favorite dishes of all time so when I saw this close by where I was staying, I had to check it out. I wasn't expecting the same quality or taste as when I was eating on the streets of Italy, but this was a pretty damn good plate of carbonara. The egg yolk split was really satisfying. The complimentary bread was better than average and the service here is top-tier. Definitely recommend getting a reservation as it is very packed with its close proximity to Waikiki beach.

I mean! Been busy eating to review but this is the casual cousin of other ones/ Kahala being my favorite. Much more casual, even the menu is different. But they have the staple. Uni pasta being one of them. You can sit inside or outside. I've sat in the rain outside and still had fun. Love their hamachi, vongole. And of course, pasta!!

Best authentic Italian restaurant on Oahu in my opinion! Their dishes taste just like Italy. I love that all their pastas come out perfectly al dente without having to ask them. We got the Bolognese and carbonara pasta and they were both to die for. They took me back to our trip to Rome. The carbonara especially was AMAZING. Like holy moly SO good, rich and creamy. I highly recommend getting the carbonara... it's super filling too-- my husband and I couldn't finish it. For appetizers we got the famous Arancino croquettes which are super crispy and yummy. Their argula prosciutto salad was yummy and tasty too. Service was great! Our waitress was quick and responsive and very nice. You do need reservations here or expect to wait at least 30 minutes... It's busy. The only bummer about the ambience is if you sit outside and they see you at a table right near the rope you were literally eating next to people walking by. I wish they had planters or something to make it feel more like a separated restaurant area.

    Paccheri alle Vongole

We just beat the crowd (around 5:30) and were seated immediately, though by the time we left it looked there was quite a wait. Our body clocks were still on Mountain Time so that was fine but wouldn't have wanted to show up at a normal dinner hour. The wine list seems sparse for an Italian place but we enjoyed our glass nonetheless. We had the Insalata Caprese and it was really fresh. I had the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina and thought it was delicious. My lovely wife ate the Paccheri alle Vongole. She would have preferred smaller clams but that's a personal thing. She said the dish was great. Vegetarians know it can sometimes be difficult to search through a menu for things we can eat. A nice touch here, that I appreciated, is that although all the meat-free items are on the main menu, they offer a separate one with only vegetarian items to make life easier. ( I know, first-world problem). I thought that very considerate. And it was not a cheap throw away idea; it was just as nice as the main menu. Respect. We ate on the patio and though it was crowded we found it pleasant. It is next to a pretty busy street with nothing to block the noise, but there is a church across the street and perhaps that influenced the drivers to be more respectful, because it wasn't bad. Service was very nice; Chi took good care of us. The manager (or maybe owner) came by to check in and thank us for coming. When I said "Thanks for having us.", he actually looked touched and grateful. I did NOT like the that a photographer made the rounds trying to take and sell photos - but to be fair, when I said "No thanks" she smiled, said "Okay", and moved on. But I don't understand how this is still a thing when we all have cameras in our pockets at all times. Nice, light mango sorbet for dessert and we were on our way. Was it one of the best Italian meals I have ever eaten? Heck, no - my wife is from Foggia and we used to live in Chicago! But for a tasty , not expensive, almost-on-the-beach Italian meal, I will go back.

Words can't describe how grateful we are to have found this spot after being disappointed by many Waikiki restaurants. Monday evening I set a res for four same day and luckily they had space. The restaurant was packed and we had an outdoor table. We ordered the -pizza carbonara: mandatory egg yolk makes this even richer. perf comfort/carb food -carpaccio di capesante: scallop sashimi was so fresh! Wish it had more dressing though -spaghetti ai ricci di mare: easily my fav uni pasta I've tried in my life so far. somehow felt light and so easy to eat -tiramisu: standard and somehow properly soaked, usually tiramisu can be kind of dry at restaurants but I appreciate this one Tried the arancino drink as well, so refreshing! The complimentary foccacia is amazing as well. Perfectly fluffy and topped with oil. Our server was so friendly and service was fast too. Looking forward to the next time I'm in the area just to come back here.

My (ex) partner made a last minute reservation for this place for our anniversary. I called and they were able to confirm that they would validate parking (I think it was either 2 or 3 hours) in the Mariott lot, which is the hotel they are attached to. We ended up doing street parking as it was right there and happened to be available. Upon arrival, they asked us if we would like indoor or outdoor seating. They were bustling with business and it was very lively for a rainy night. We choose indoor and they took a few minutes to get our table arranged then we were seated. What we ordered: * Calamari Fritti: 10/10, light, crispy, and not chewy at all. Pretty salty but a good start * Free Bread: 8/10, their bread is super fluffy and delicious. They gave me more later during the meal which I devoured. I didn't really care for the olive oil it was crusted with so I would pick it off hah. * Tagliata Di Manzo: 9/10, perfectly done medium rare steak (in my opinin). The fries were decent, it reminded me of McDonalds fries (in a good way). Also I'm unsure why but the steak just felt like it was so small, almost less than 8oz ( but I did not have a scale so I really wouldn't know). * Spaghetti Ai Ricci Di Mare: 10/10, this was the star of the show as it was the main reason we decided to come to arancino. This uni pasta was creamy and packed with the uni's umami flavor. I was mopping the sauce clean towards the end of the meal with my bread & fries. * Free Tiramisu: 9/10. Super nice (not so surprising) surprise at the end. With a cute "Happy Anniversray" message written and a small piece of tiramisu (and chocolate). What a great way to end the meal. The tiramisu was light, yet creamy and decadent. During our meal, there was a photographer walking around Arancino and taking pictures for tables. They did an amazing job and some of the photos came out perfect. They even gave us a complimentary photo, although it wasn't our favorite of the bunch, it still felt above and beyond, exceeding my expectations of my experience.

To my surprise, on a Sunday evening after having dinner nearby at Maze, my wife and I walked over to Bar Leather Apron and we were able to get seated right away! In fact, around 7:30 p.m. when we stopped by, there was actually a ton of seating available in the bar. Who would've guessed. If you're in the same boat as me and are unable to find a reservation for your upcoming visit, I would encourage you to stop by and try a walk-in. The first page of the menu lists a wide variety of whiskey based cocktails. Most -- if not all, of the cocktails are pre-fixed with BLA (Bar Leather Apron), and represent a collaboration with the named distillery. If you're fan of whiskey, you'll definitely have a difficult time picking only one. I ultimately ordered their "Take Warning" -- 2021 BLA Knob Creek BLA Single Barrel, Cynar, Carpano Antica, Mezcal, Bergamot Salt. Drinks here are not cheap -- averaging $20 to $25 per drink. Although my drink was very spirit forward, it still felt very well balanced. I appreciated the hint of smokiness from the mezcal that rounded out the end of a sip. Service here quick and friendly. When we received the check, a cute small chocolate snack was brought over as well, borrowed from the menu at Maze. Overall, I can see why Bar Leather Apron has earned so many accolades in its field. Definitely worth a stop by if you enjoy the art of mixology.
