All the food was really good but a bit heavy, I think the best thing to do is to order family style so that everyone can take a bite and rotate the items out to keep it from being too much. Ambiance is modern with dim lighting and loud music which made it hard to hear. Service was average, asked for no tomatoes on the salad and still got them. The soup was good with real chicken and vegetables. The ribs were fantastic covered with a delicious bbq sauce which made it easy to pull the meat off the bones. The mac n cheese was watery, lacked a cheesy flavor which hard pasta, however the corn bread was great. We had dinner recently at Haywire in Plano and it was spectacular. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. We started with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and it was chilled and delicious. The appetizer of choice this visit was the Fried Green Tomatoes which were lightly battered and had a pair of great sauces; one on top and the other on the plate below the tomatoes. The steaks, both filets, were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The Pecan Pie was a bit different, more cakey than expected, but the caramel and vanilla ice cream on top took it to the next level. Our server was in training, but you really couldn't tell. We only knew because she said so. I highly recommend Haywire for the food, the atmosphere, and the unexpected, reasonable prices. read more

If you're looking for a good place to go out, look no further. Located in a great little shopping center with other places to explore and try, Haywire is a great spot to come and drink and chat. Personally, haven't tried the food here yet. I have only come to have drinks and hang out but every time, the service has been great! They do have plenty of seating but you may be hard pressed to find a good seat on the weekends because this place does attract a lot of people! For good reason, though! You can get some good views and if you sit in the right area and there is also a little seating area nested right on the side of where there is sometimes some musical performances! I went back here for an early Friends Mother's Day celebration on a Saturday at 11:30am. They had made a reservation due tot he large size of our party. I ended up valeting next door, the valet in front of Fogo de Chao is free versus the one for Legacy Hall which is $15.00. The location is great, very pretty and 3 levels. Their patio faces the Legacy Hall venue which can be a nice bonus if they have live music going on. Our server Brittany (not sure on actual spelling) did a fantastic job throughout the whole meal and had a neat Texas outfit on. I started with the Kolaches & Queso $13.95. I thought these were pretty good, the queso was especially good, it has a hint of spice but creamy. I got the Chicken Fried Chicken & Egg Biscuit $14.95 for my meal. This came with a side cup of a tomato salad that had different kinds of tomatoes, onion, feta and a light but refreshing dressing. I got my egg sunny side up and the biscuit sandwich is served open face. This was almost perfect, the fried chicken with the gravy, sunny egg and delicious biscuit all went super well together. They put a slice of green tomato on the bottom which I am assuming they do to tie it together or add acidity but it really detracted from the dish IMO. It made the bottom biscuit super soggy and was not needed at all. I would get this without it next time as the bite was almost perfect. I am glad that the service and food have both improved since I last visited. I would gladly go back anytime! read more

I was mind blown by this massive steakhouse! Haywire sits in the center of Legacy Hall across from the Gucci store. It's about 3 stories tall with elevators and stairs leading you up to the different floors. We thoroughly enjoyed our brunch despite having to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Ambiance was a check check check. I had no idea what I was walking into and it just kept going? Dimly lit with modern Western decor and gorgeous sunlight shining in. It was a pleasant surprise on a cold January afternoon. Shoutout to our bartender Marcus (or maybe Patrick? It was hard to hear) for being so kind and helping us pick some drinks while we waited for table. My cold brew espresso martini was exquisite. Chef Timo, thanks for a delicious brunch! My pecan pancakes were so fluffy and comforting. Our server Waldo, was amazing!! He made the experience that much better. Really enjoyed the evening with my wife and daughters. All 4 of us loved the western casual ambiance, good service (once it started - had to wait 15 min before anyone showed up at first and then it was very good), and the food. We began with Elk Tacos, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Fried Oysters. All were good, but the oysters were hands down everyone's favorite appetizer. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly cooked, but we did not care for the sauce they sat on. The Elk Tacos were good and crunchy, but hard to tell it was ground Elk, so not sure worth the price premium. We followed the appetizers with a couple of salads, the wedge and the burrata caprese. It was a very small wedge, but tasty with awesome blue cheese crumbles. The burrata caprese was delicious. Entrees were all fantastic! The monster pork chop was tender, juicy and delicious. Not sure how one person can finish that monster but made for a good take home. The redfish was fresh and delicious. The ribs were perfectly cooked and tender, but the flavor was just average we thought. My wife substituted green beans for the mac & cheese and she was not disappointed - the beans were perfectly prepared and delicous. The accompanying corn muffin was moist with a nice flavor but tasted like pure sugar. Finally, the 16oz Cowboy ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare and had tremendous flavor. It seems like more than 16 oz, so some of that went home as well! It was a birthday event so we had to try some of their Homestead cake. It is sort of a take on carrot cake with caramel icing. Let's just say you won't be disappointed if you like carrot cake - it was delicious. Prices are not cheap, but we thought very reasonable for the quality provided. Service was very good, but we did have to wait about 10+ minutes before someone came by to give us water and take a drink order. The wait on the drinks from the bar was too long, so suggest getting your order in early. Those were minor issues as it was a great evening, and we can't wait to go back. read more

I've been to Haywire about four times now and have had great experiences every time. Here's the breakdown on the food and vibes. Haywire is a great, casual but trendy and upscale restaurant located in Legacy West. It has three floors, with each floor giving a different vibe and energy. I HIGHLY recommend getting a reservation if you want to guarantee getting a table for dining here. Otherwise it's an hour to hour and a half wait for a table. The second floor is where reservations are seated and it's their formal dining room, including a really nice enclosed patio. The first floor is a nice, rustic bar/lounge setting where the seating is on a first come first serve basis. The third floor (rooftop) is really cute and trendy, good for a younger crowd than the other two floors. The rooftop has a cute old school Winnebago you can dine in, but if it's cold outside and you're not in a corner, you will freeze (speaking from personal experience). As for the food, I highly recommend the short ribs!!! I've had a couple times and it's top notch! Also, the chocolate cake here is one of the BEST chocolate cakes I have ever had ANYWHERE, and I'm a chocolate cake freak! It has a spicy ancho powder in the buttercream frosting that takes this devils food cake to another level! I get it every single time I come here, even to go. It's served a la mode with vanilla ice cream that is perfect! I've shared the sampler appetizer with friends before and it was great for sharing among a small group. The onion rings are GINORMOUS! The tacos and queso were really good also. The last time I came was on Sunday for lunch. I ordered the meatloaf. I hated it. I was so disappointed with it. It has a salsa rather than a tomato paste topping, so it's all savory with no sweet flavor. The mashed potatoes with it also needed salt. My waitress was lovely and gladly took it back and offered to prepare something else. I went with the burger with fries. The burger was good and had decent flavor, and the fries were really good. The drinks here are always very good. I usually get a Texas Pour old fashioned. The Texas Pour means for a couple dollars more, they will give you a much bigger sized drink. In general you can't go wrong with Haywire. From the rooftop and patios you can see and hear everything going on next door at the Legacy Hall patio which is also cool as there's often live music there. If you have a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor and get the chocolate cake! It's to die for! read more

I'm a big fan of consistent experiences, and Haywire always provides one. It's a great atmosphere, with great service and great food, the trifecta! On my most recent visit with some coworkers we tried the Cowboy Feast and Pork Chop. Both were stellar, the consensus was that the pork chop is even better than Perry's! The steak was cooked to perfection with a house chimichurri to accompany it. The dessert board was drool worthy- but I can do without their carrot cake, it was sweet and flavorless. The pecan pie, however, is an absolute must, and the chocolate cake is a close second. read more

I left very disappointed and whoever your bartender was during happy hour customer service was fake and it was trash. I have came here on numerous of times and never have been asked to start a tab when eating food or drinking! I always enjoy the food and atmosphere of Haywire each time I visit. This visit I attended brunch and ordered the mimosa flight, which included your choice of two juices. We went with pineapple and orange juice! The champagne was great. The Texas Cobb salad was really good. The vinaigrette was really yummy and paired well with the grilled chicken. I would really recommend coffee cake in a can. It is so scrumptious... probably my favorite off their brunch menu. Because the restaurant is so busy, the downside is that service is slower... takes time to place order and grab your waiter's attention. If you plan on eating here, make sure to allot take to chill and relax because it is not fast service. Not very welcoming the girl in the first floor, barely even spoke while she was talking on her headset. We were directed upstairs and that girl was answering the phone calls and never even acknowledged us. Then we got to the table and we waited about 10 minutes for someone to show up. The waiter was really good and the food was OK. Nothing crazy to write home about and then we passed about six people on the way back when we were leaving. Nobody ever said thanks for joining us or coming back didn't feel very welcoming. read more

As so many have said, the ambiance is great! Very Texas, rustic, dark wood and leather. Tons of seating and outdoor space. We had kid's chicken tenders, elk mini tacos, chicken fried steak, Caesar salad, asparagus, brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, burger, pecan pie and vanilla ice cream. Pecan pie is worth the trip by itself! We sat on the second floor and it was an overcast November day. As we crept up the stairs (an elevator is available) for our second floor table hit a little heat wave from the heater. 63 degrees outside and so not a huge need for the heater. I would suggest sitting on the enclosed patio if you fear the heater. Another table complained and eventually the fires were eventually turned to AC. We did check the 3rd floor out while we waited for our table. They said it was open seating but all the empty tables had 'Reserved' signs on it. A few cute teepee time booth the kids would enjoy and the back side is open air. Our waitress was pretty inattentive for a Sunday afternoon at 2:00. Seated at 2 and we never didn't see her until 2:16. We grabbed drinks and waters from the bar. We were empty before she came back to take our order so back to the bar we went. She was often chatting it up with other stuff but I did see some waiters offering great service so maybe it's hit or miss. The menu is a limited, chicken fry was meh, kids liked the chicken & fries, burger above average & Caesar was ok. I would like to see one of their steaks. Food and service were good. Got home and noticed a $41 charge for a Macallan 12 yr double cask drink. A bottle costs around $80. I called the store and spoke to a manager named Abby who said that is what the corporate office priced the drink at. I told her the other high end restaurants in Legacy do not charge that much, for that drink and again a bottle is around $80. I asked her to inquire at their office, she said she would, no apology, did not take my name down. They lost a few good customers. Very disappointing. read more

This was my first time to Haywire and I couldn't have been happier to have selected this location for my Birthday Brunch. The environment, service, and quality of food were so great! I ordered the GRILLED CHIPOTLE MEATLOAF- $17.95 swapped out the given sides for brussels sprouts and green chile white cheddar grits. This meal was so phenomenal. The meatloaf itself has a tougher texture due to the grilling almost steak looking and taste, I was so happy. The cheddar grits are creamy and I couldn't stop eating them. In the end, my brussels sprouts were what was left not becuase I didn't like them but because I ate so much of the rest I was stuffed. My cocktails were both balanced in flavor and liquor. My Amarillo by morning ($13) was on the sweeter side but a great take on a tequila sunrise! My 2nd drink was the Ranch water ($12) to steer away from the sweetness but still have a refreshing seltzer water and tequila cocktail nonetheless. This location is easy to find and has a public parking garage nearby. The restaurant is so beautiful and great for big parties! The birthday perk was to try out their WHISKEY BREAD PUDDING buttery croissants / Haywire signature whiskey blend custard/whiskey anglaise a This dessert was delicious and everyone enjoyed a bite, THANK YOU! I was in the area and saw haywire and thought I try the place. It was dead quiet on the first floor but when you go up to the second floor it was a nice environment with a covered patio. I loved the ambiance. The service I would say is also very good!! Super friendly and attentive that I ended up going back several weeks later. Now for the food, it was delicious. Tried several items the appetizers we tried was the chefs favorite 4 and pork belly. Both were so good and flavor is on point. I would definitely get the pork belly again. The cheese dip was my favorite for the chefs favorite. Not sure I cared for the onion ring. For the meal we tried the Cadillac burger. It was good but honestly nothing special from any other burger other than its waygu meat. The whiskey bbq ribs was flavorful and yummie. The meat falls off of the bone! Definitely would come back for it. Now for the last thing I tried was the 8 oz garlic stuff filet. Don't get it. Not worth the price didn't taste the garlic. It was just a piece of 8 oz steak.
