Quick service and quality food! Highly recommend the lobster sticky rice and lamb chops

I've been back to Golden Wonton King a few times now since my first time. Every time I come back, service and the food is A++++++++. Whenever you miss and want good cantonese food, this is the place to go!! The fish fillet and tofu casserole is a must order dish. I think every time I've been to Golden Wonton King, I've always ordered it. The fish and tofu are always so tender and flavorful. Two lobsters and sticky rice is also another must order dish. And who can go wrong with having two complimentary desserts???!!! You can't!!! Both the mango pudding and pumpkin sago soup is such a sweet way to end the meal.

This is still our go to dinner place when we have a large crowd. They always seem to have tables or with a short wait. They are always running some sort of specials but make sure you want to eat the items. Google Translate the specials posted in Chinese so you do not miss out. Most dishes are delicious but slightly salty.

Came here for a birthday dinner, and it was good, some standout dishes! It was super crowded on a Sunday evening so I recommend making a reservation, especially for weekends. Pros: - Highly recommend the Lobster and Sticky Rice, Crab Meat & Fish Maw Soup, Fresh Mushroom & Clams, and the Green Beans. - Large space and wheelchair friendly Cons: - The Seafood Lo Mein, Peking Pork Chop, and Crispy Garlic Fried Chicken were just OK and would not order again.

We went to Golden Wonton King for Galentine's day, girls' lunch out! The service was friendly and attentive. We went there around 3-4pm so it was not super busy. Loved the pea shoots stir fry with garlic, the crispy fried whole sea bass which the waiter deboned for us. Ambiance was comfortable. Tea was very good too. Definitely recommend.

Golden Wonton King in Flushing was highly recommended by a friend who lives in New York. So decided to cab from Times Square to Flushing which took about an hour and some change during rush hour. Got a private room here and this is a traditional Chinese dinner restaurant, which is that they serves family-style dishes. We had so much food that I was stuffed to the max and dishes were still going on! I really enjoyed the chicken and also the clam dish. Everything was packed with a lot of flavor and served hot. We all loved this place and now we can say this is a go-to spot to come for food when in New York.

I've been on the hunt for a good Cantonese restaurant in Flushing but I have not been able to find one that meets the quality of the legendary Imperial Palace (RIP, IYKIK). I was hopeful that Golden Wonton King would be a worth they hype of our friends who have been before and were praising it but unfortunately no dice. The only dish that I thought was worth writing home about was the lobster sticky fried rice dish. All the other dishes we ordered including the peking pork chops, seafood lo mein, and crispy garlic fried chicken were all sub par. The quality of ingredients, flavors, the preperation was overall disappointing. The service was solid though and the place was clean however I wouldn't recommend this place if you are expecting refined Cantonese food. The search continues...

Been visiting this place more frequently now. What I've noticed is you won't go wrong with their signature dishes (large images along the wall). They seem to be pretty busy for dinner times, all 3 times we go we need to get a ticket to wait but wait is usually pretty quick- party of 4 and seated within 5-15 min. Food gets dished out SO fast but doesn't compensate in taste. All of their signature dishes are bangers. Wonton soup: shrimp texture got a nice "snap" to it and its natural sweetness goes well with the meat mixture. Soup is good too; uniquely kind of creamy which is different from the typical Hong kong wonton and soup style. I will say the soup is kind of salty on its own. Perfect if you do takeout to bring home and add noodles to it, but I recently found out you may be able to add noodles to it even if you're dining in. Xo seafood stirfry (unsure of what they actually call it): really good flavor and texture. Perfect with a bowl of rice. Contains some greens in it to give it some balance. It seems that the shrimp used here is different tho, these don't got the snap texture. But overall still a very good dish. Clam dish: if you don't typically order this it's sliced clams on a bed of bean sprouts so don't be expecting a huge plate of clams. The texture for this dish was great too. Not sure if it's the clam we got that was plump but it melted in my mouth (dip it in the sauce before eating) Golden fried rice: I've had these elsewhere plenty of times. They add yellow raisins for some sweetness. If you don't like too much of a sweetness, their raisins are less sweet than typical. Feel like it still brought the dish together without an off balance of sweetness overload in bites. But they also add what seems to be crispy rice bits adding to the texture of the dish. Very unique and it's good. These greens idk what they're called, but it's a usual dish we order out and it was executed nicely. Def do try the garlic if you get this dish, they've got a potato texture but with rich (not overpowering) garlic taste. I did not get a picture of the steamed fish but they actually fillet the fish for you. Still cooked to perfection. Their pricing is actually pretty affordable compared to if you get these dishes elsewhere in flushing so if you're craving to try these dishes definitely come here and try it. Oh and lastly they finish off with complimentary mango jello.

The wonton definitely was the highlight of our meal. Fried frog legs were also quite yummy. Service was nice and quick. Liked that they cleaned our plates

They are indeed the wonton king get the New York number 1 wontons in the soup )not pictured) the bouncy wontons are nettled in the delicious beef bone broth. The stir fried noodle dishes are great and the dim sum is made fresh The servers were great too. They would wipe our table whenever I spilled any tea. It was also a nice ambiance because there's was plenty of natural sunlight. It is very lively and loud.

It was our first time here based on a recommendation from family. It was a happy medium between LI and Manhattan for us. There is street parking available. We came for an early dinner so there were only a few tables taken. They asked if we had reservations which we didn't. We order several dishes including wonton soup, pan fried noodles with seafood. They were all very good! Pretty spacious and well lit space. Service was efficient. At the end of our meal, we were served pumpkin tapioca pudding (at least that is what it tasted like) and mango jelly (yum!) which was unexpected. Will definitely be back!

The food at Golden Wonton King is good. My favorite dishes are the lobster sticky rice, mayonnaise shrimp and longevity noodles. The wonton soup is also a must try! It is usually easy to get a walk in table, with a short wait but never been too bad.

I frequent this place many times with my family, but today may be the last. The quality of the food has gone down a lot, and all of the meat dishes we ordered were overcooked, dry and tough. We asked to have our filet mignon replaced as it was well done and tough, to which they refused and brought over a fork to take a bite of the dish. It was well overcooked but the guy said it tasted fine and refused to replace the dish or remove it off the bill. The service and taste have clearly gone downhill now. We ordered the filet mignon, clams, mushroom tofu casserole, lamb chops, chicken sautéed with chinese vegetables and the green beans with minced pork. The minced pork was a lot saltier, and only the mushroom tofu dish was good.

Service was minimal at best but they just seemed under staffed honestly. And when the server did come by, she was running quickly to and from. The place was not busy when my friends and I were seated. But there was a back room in guessing that had occupants since she was missing in the front seating area. (There was a two person table occupied in the front near us). My party of three over ordered but that was intentional because, any purchase over $100, you get a free lobster and each of us had items we wanted, figured we would doggie bag the leftovers. All in all a great value. The lunch spread had over 7 dishes and we got the free lobster. I was especially happy to see Fried Milk on the menu as an appetizer. They also provide complimentary salted peanuts and pickled radish and carrot slivers. I recommend the snow pea shoots, fried milk, clams with black bean sauce and the Chinese Broccoli with Filet beef. The other dishes like the lobster, noodles and sweet and sour pork were executed well but just not my flavor profile. And with my food allergy, I couldn't try the shrimp with walnuts but it was my friends' birthday so she ordered that for her treat. It looked great! There's complimentary parking if you validate your ticket with a nearby garage, but you need to spend a minimum.

We were famished and only focused on what yummy dishes to order. My wife, son and daughter all contributed their suggestions and we ended up ordering pan fried whole flounder, half of the roast chicken with garlic, filet mignon with Chinese broccoli, fried rice with chicken and salted fish and everyone's favorite dish salt & pepper squid. Once we placed our order and were enjoying the roasted peanuts and free spicy cabbage we realized why everyone had their winter coats on, it felt like they had the AC on and it must have been 55° in the restaurant. I told everyone that once the food arrived things would warm up. Each dish that came out of the kitchen was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The salt & pepper squid with it's minced jalapeños kept us warm enough until the half chicken with garlic and filet mignon and Chinese broccoli came out in rapid succession. The star of the show turned out to be the giant sized pan fried flounder which was not only big but quite scrumptious. Unlike the little scrawny flounder that most other restaurants usually served this was a quite large and very meaty and perfectly cooked. The last dish to come out was a very large plate of chicken fried rice with salted fish. If it were not for the lack of heat, I would have given Chef Wong Bistro 5 stars!

The restaurant is partitioned up into several different rooms where they will push carts in and out of the rooms themselves. We didn't have to wait too long to get any of the desired dishes that we wanted. Ambience: I think your typical staple dim sum restaurant ambiance was here. Definitely felt very conversational with family. Was not too quiet or too loud. Food: I don't think that the dim sum here was that good. It didn't wow me as much as I was expecting it to. I initially saw this on one of the Michelin Guide website, and I was expecting a little more out of this place. Of all the places that I've had dim sum at, I just feel like this was more okay rather than anything special. For example the shumai didn't have that "juicy bite" kind of feel that you usually get. Again, nothing about this restaurant was bad per se, but I just felt like this was in the lower tier of all the dim sum places that I've had. I think for this reason, it gets a 3/5 for me.

We walked into a casual, local space with a straightforward setup that works well for a simple meal rather than a long dining experience. The seating is limited, and the use of paperware even for dine-in orders gives the restaurant a practical, neighborhood feel, the kind of place where the focus stays on the food rather than the atmosphere. The biggest highlight is the wonton noodle soup. The shrimp wontons are larger than the typical Hong Kong-style wontons and are packed with shrimp flavor, giving the dish a more filling feel. The noodles have a good texture with a slight chew, and the broth provides a light but comforting base that ties everything together without overwhelming the other components. The beef options are also worth trying, especially the braised beef and brisket, which add a richer, more savory flavor to the noodles. Beyond noodles, the menu has a variety of classic Hong Kong-style sides and add-ons. The curry fish balls and fried fish skin are popular choices that add different textures to the meal, while the Hong Kong milk tea works well as a drink pairing, with a smooth, slightly bitter profile that cuts through the richness of the food. There are also vegetarian options available, giving the menu more flexibility for different preferences. Service is generally quick and efficient, and the portions are filling for the price. The restaurant can feel busy during peak hours due to the limited seating, but the turnover is fast enough that the wait does not feel excessive. The presentation is simple and functional, and the overall experience feels rooted in the kind of quick, satisfying meal that Hong Kong-style noodle shops are known for. Maxi's Noodle is a solid place for Hong Kong-style comfort food, especially if you are craving wonton noodles. The large shrimp wontons, chewy noodles, and affordable portions make it a worthwhile stop, offering a meal that feels both familiar and satisfying without any unnecessary fuss. It may not be the most polished dining experience, but it delivers exactly what it promises: a simple, comforting bowl of noodles done right.

The staff wanted my wife to sit at an angle to the table; so that they could pass through. The seafood itself was solid traditional Cantonese fare with fresh lobster tanks, steamed fish, and classic banquet-style dishes. The atmosphere felt colorful authentic Hong Kong banquet hall energy. However, some of their pricing was completely out of whack. Mother's Day premium for sure which is understandable, but some dishes were simply excessively expensive for what was delivered. For example, our two lobsters, while fresh, were missing that smoky "wok hei" flavor that great Cantonese kitchens are known for. It lacked the depth, aroma, and richness one expects from a proper high-heat wok preparation. A few items felt priced more for Guide Michelin luxury dining than a Flushing seafood hall. This said, the service was efficient and professional; changing plates all the time. So a high level of attention above the usual Cantonese restaurant. Overall, decent food in and an authentic Hong Kong style restaurant that targets special family gatherings, but be prepared, both the crowds and the bill can become overwhelming very quickly. I paid more than $400 for three people. But we had a Tiger Fish which is $50 per pound.

This was the former location of the beloved Guangzhou Restaurant that sadly shuttered in the early…read more2010s, which then went on to be a series of random businesses over the years, only to be a Cantonese restaurant again. I have so many reasons to believe that Emperor is truly the reincarnation of the restaurant...just a little rusty. I've only come here for dim sum and I'm still surprised it doesn't get even half of the insane volume that nearby dim sum restaurants get, especially with how much closer they are to Roosevelt Ave. I have to say that the dim sum here is slightly better than most locations in the core downtown area, both in presentation and taste. No cart ladies, just a paper and pencil ordering system. The other diners that I usually encounter seem to strike me as locals, which is becoming harder to find these days. Prices are slightly more expensive than the other places, which is probably a factor as to why there aren't as many customers. The other reason is probably the subpar customer service here, which I've encountered on a number of recent visits. There are so many workers here, but none of them seem to have any good grasp of what customer service is. For example, I've had the waiter hover over me as I was gathering cash for my bill and snatched it the moment I placed the money down, also demanding at least 18% (again, for subpar service). Also, if you complain to them about your food, even if you find a hair, they will not do anything about it. The food quality is slightly above most of the dim sum places, but also bear in mind the hit-or-miss service you'll get, which the latter can be super frustrating.
