I didn't expect this place, just walked in because I was hungry and didn't check reviews on Yelp. Normally, I always look up restaurants since I'm not from here. I ordered egg noodles with three toppings: wontons, dumplings, and dace fish paste. I was really impressed--the toppings were all big and very tasty. You can tell the ingredients inside are fresh, and they don't mix in too much flour with the fish paste. The soup and toppings were well-seasoned, so I didn't even need any extra dipping sauce. It would taste even better and more fragrant if you add some chili oil. I also ordered a side of boiled vegetables with oyster sauce, which was just average. You can eat at almost any Cantonese restaurant. As for drinks, I ordered a Hong Kong-style coffee, but it wasn't really my taste--I found the lemon tea better.

A wonderful simple but hearty bowl of noodles! I was stopping by for a quick dinner, and though I was a solo diner and it was close to closing time, the wait staff gladly took me in. I wanted something simple, so I got the egg noodles with shrimp wonton. The broth was fish-based but very clean and not too heavily spiced or flavored. I had a few sips, and then added the chili oil, which was very garlic heavy. A little addition went a long way, and I loved the way it complemented the soup! There were four big shrimp wonton in the soup. The shrimp filling was really plump and sweet with a savory kick from the sesame oil. This is how I remember my shrimp wonton and dumplings tasting back twenty years ago. No bulls hit fillers! The egg noodles came slightly crunchy and softened a little towards the end of the meal. I see now why Maxi's Noodle creates such buzz and continues to be loved by the community. I cannot wait to return and try more.

I had only ever picked up take out and the second Maxi's location. I was in flushing and finally able to dine in. This spot is smaller and cozy but it moves! Service is quick and efficient. Food is delicious as always. It was my friends first time trying Maxi's and he liked it. Not pictured is the honey lemon, and broccoli in oyster sauce. Love the massive wontons!

Wonton, dumpling and fish ball noodle soup with duck egg noodle was excellent on a freezing January day. Great that they have indoor seating, too!

Great spot for fresh Wonton and noodles. Broth is flavorful and the Wonton are filled to the max. And the beef, just melted. Fishballs were tastey and plump. It is quite a small spot and it can get busy. We went there when it opened, 10 minutes later seats inside were taken and outside seating was starting to fill. Food came out pretty fast and staff were friendly.

Get busy and hunker down with this no frills place that serves up noodle and wontons! It's made-up w/a combo of real shrimp and shrimp paste which makes the shrimp flavor shine with extra shine! And to stretch the flavor out some more, I can taste the sesame oil in them. SO GOOD! Amahhhzzzing food! Great service! There's always room for wontons.

We ordered a wonton soup with extra dumplings and curry fish balls. The five of us all sat snuggled up on one table and shared it. It was the perfect snack, but we all could've ordered a bowl. The noodles were great with the soup and the dumplings were STUFFED with shrimp. The curry fish balls were so bouncy and delicious. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will come back again to eat and try more!

This place has been on my "want to try" list for a while. It was kind of close to closing time when I visited so I was happy to still be able to order and take my soup to go. A+ for service already I love that they have a vegetarian/vegan broth option for soups so that's what I got. I highly recommend the duck egg noodles! Great texture and they went so well with the well seasoned broth. The mushroom was an add-on item and was interesting. Thick, chewy, and semi sweet. I've never tasted a mushroom like that before. Lowkey, the star of the soup for me were the big leafy green vegetables! They were cooked absolutely perfectly and weren't bitter! They provided welcomed crunch and balance to the soup. I added the included chili oil and it did not disappoint I see what the hype is about and I will absolutely be back to try more. Maxi's Noodle is valid.

Great noodle joint for a quick grab, and catch up or take out. Inside space is enough for party of 2-6 at a time. We got udon for our noodle soups. We had wonton with beef stew, mushroom noodle soup in vegetable broth and udon with beef stew. The beef stew was delicious, the noodle broth with the beef stew almost tasted like a desi paya, delicious in winter time. Service was great. Loved the house chilli oil, bought two jars to go!

Maxi's Noodle hits. It is heavily hyped and tbh I get it. It is quick, simple, and about as close to a perfect bowl of HK style wonton noodles. The wontons are massive, like they aren't messing around when they say "massive wonton." The broth is so savory and light and the wontons are just packedddd with fresh and crisp shrimp. Like it is very shrimp forward. Tip: get the flat rice noodles, add beef stew on the side, and finish it off with white pepper and red vinegar. It's basically the platonic ideal of shrimp wonton noodle soup. Around 13 bucks if paid with cash and the space is pretty small, but the turnaround is quick and worth every minute.

tried maxi's noodle and it did not disappoint! we ordered the wonton noodles with beef belly, wonton noodles with beef tendon, curry fish balls and hong kong milk tea and everything was so good. it honestly reminded me of the flavors i had in Hong kong. we got lucky and got a table right away, but every time i walk by it's always packed. the broth was rich and flavorful and they give you a really generous amount of noodles. the wontons were huge and the beef was super tender. service was really fast too. easily one of the best wonton noodle spots i've tried in nyc, highly recommend if you haven't already. perfect for a cold day!

Possibly my most favorite noodle soup in all of New York City right now! Lately life has introduced me to some really good businesses worth the trek to Flushing (for the love of all things beauty!) and whenever I go do these appointments, I'm comforted by the fact that I can enjoy my favorite Beef + Wonton Noodle soup after. I go for the 2-topping option and add extra noodles and it's always so satisfying! It's a small and no frills place so I just order pick-up to go and get in the car and get back home. The wontons are huge and the beef is delicious, they just need to be a little more generous with the beef stew sauce a bit. Add some chili oil and voila. Trust that you'll crave it in just a matter of days! Thanks Maxi's, will be back again soon! :)

Ask the Community - Maxi’s Noodle

Does the soup broth have any meat, or is it made of any meat broth?

It’s a clear broth but we do make it with pork bones, shrimp, and fish.

Does the 2nd location have the same menu and more indoor seating? Thanks

Yes, same menu and YESS!! Wayyy more seating! And a customer’s only restroom to use!

Do you do delivery or it has to go through a third party delivery service? I prefer if you deliver directly. Thanks.

Unfortunately, we do not deliver directly. We use 3rd party services. Sorry!

Are you guys really open daily? even in public holidays?

We are open daily! Depending on the holiday! But mostly we are open. If we do close I will post on my website and on our social media ahead of time. Hope that helps!

Do you have any vegan dumplings?

No, sorry we only have one type of dumpling and wonton and both have shrimp and smear of pork.

    Is there parking?

It's across from a municipal parking lot you have to pay for.

Is there cilantro in the dace fish balls?

    No cilantro, I use scallion.

Any idea when are they moving to the new location?

Yes so excited - saw their sign on 38th Avenue in Flushing between Main and Prince

Is everything served in plastic containers?

Most of it yes, the pop up restaurant is mainly self served with easy disposable bowls and utensils.

Service was minimal at best but they just seemed under staffed honestly. And when the server did come by, she was running quickly to and from. The place was not busy when my friends and I were seated. But there was a back room in guessing that had occupants since she was missing in the front seating area. (There was a two person table occupied in the front near us). My party of three over ordered but that was intentional because, any purchase over $100, you get a free lobster and each of us had items we wanted, figured we would doggie bag the leftovers. All in all a great value. The lunch spread had over 7 dishes and we got the free lobster. I was especially happy to see Fried Milk on the menu as an appetizer. They also provide complimentary salted peanuts and pickled radish and carrot slivers. I recommend the snow pea shoots, fried milk, clams with black bean sauce and the Chinese Broccoli with Filet beef. The other dishes like the lobster, noodles and sweet and sour pork were executed well but just not my flavor profile. And with my food allergy, I couldn't try the shrimp with walnuts but it was my friends' birthday so she ordered that for her treat. It looked great! There's complimentary parking if you validate your ticket with a nearby garage, but you need to spend a minimum.

We were famished and only focused on what yummy dishes to order. My wife, son and daughter all contributed their suggestions and we ended up ordering pan fried whole flounder, half of the roast chicken with garlic, filet mignon with Chinese broccoli, fried rice with chicken and salted fish and everyone's favorite dish salt & pepper squid. Once we placed our order and were enjoying the roasted peanuts and free spicy cabbage we realized why everyone had their winter coats on, it felt like they had the AC on and it must have been 55° in the restaurant. I told everyone that once the food arrived things would warm up. Each dish that came out of the kitchen was perfectly cooked and was delicious. The salt & pepper squid with it's minced jalapeños kept us warm enough until the half chicken with garlic and filet mignon and Chinese broccoli came out in rapid succession. The star of the show turned out to be the giant sized pan fried flounder which was not only big but quite scrumptious. Unlike the little scrawny flounder that most other restaurants usually served this was a quite large and very meaty and perfectly cooked. The last dish to come out was a very large plate of chicken fried rice with salted fish. If it were not for the lack of heat, I would have given Chef Wong Bistro 5 stars!

The waiter then proceeded to bend down close to my face (too close for comfort) and asked me in Chinese if I can finish the food or not. His mandarin is a bit hard to understand so I was a bit perplexed if I misheard the question and asked him again then he turned to leave and literally waved me off with his arms (ok..?) I've only come here for dim sum and I'm still surprised it doesn't get even half of the insane volume that nearby dim sum restaurants get, especially with how much closer they are to Roosevelt Ave. I have to say that the dim sum here is slightly better than most locations in the core downtown area, both in presentation and taste. No cart ladies, just a paper and pencil ordering system. The other diners that I usually encounter seem to strike me as locals, which is becoming harder to find these days. Prices are slightly more expensive than the other places, which is probably a factor as to why there aren't as many customers. The other reason is probably the subpar customer service here, which I've encountered on a number of recent visits. There are so many workers here, but none of them seem to have any good grasp of what customer service is. For example, I've had the waiter hover over me as I was gathering cash for my bill and snatched it the moment I placed the money down, also demanding at least 18% (again, for subpar service). Also, if you complain to them about your food, even if you find a hair, they will not do anything about it. The food quality is slightly above most of the dim sum places, but also bear in mind the hit-or-miss service you'll get, which the latter can be super frustrating.
