Some might call it gaudy. To each his/her own. Also, always able to get a reservation, not needing to go into downtown Flushing traffic, and having a large parking lot are major advantages. Honestly, these are the reasons that sets Crown One apart from most of the other Cantonese restaurants. As mentioned, the food here is solid, but it does have some ups and downs. Some of the better dishes I had include Sautéed Conch w/ Fried Milk, Boneless Chicken w/ Ham & Chinese Broccoli, Salt & Pepper Fried Calamari, Preserved Meat & Cauliflower, and Beef Pan Fried Noodle. After walking by when parking on our way to eat in one of New York's famous Chinatowns, we just had to go in for pictures! The place was open but empty when we visited on the Labour Day long weekend Monday in 2025 at 8PM, but the staff was ok with us wandering around and ogling the gorgeous interior. This was a perfect way to take it all in without the hustle and bustle of a busy dim sum happening or party in the banquet room. It looks well taken care of and very clean, with some proud ownership. Two of us went for early dinner before show at Flushing Town Hall. Waiter said 2 dishes would be enough so we ordered the soft shell crab fried sticky rice and water spinach with garlic. Hidden gem discovered due to my aunt living nearby. I've only been here for dim sum with my family during the weekends. The restaurant, itself, is very spacious. Food in particularly dim sum is amazingly delicious! There is a good reason why I keep on going back for more of their dim sum. Wink wink hehe It gets crowded during the weekends, so I suggest going early, possibly before 12pm. There is a private parking lot on the first floor. Remember to tip them after you pick up your car! I had a holiday get together here with extended relatives a little over a month ago. My relatives from the area recommended this restaurant. When the owner walked in, my cousin recognized him as the owner of another Flushing Chinese restaurant where she got married 30 years ago. Suffice to say he's an old hand and knows how to run the show. The food here was really good and the prices amazing. We had a prefix menu and private room and ended up paying around 30 per person for a colossal meal with leftovers that included lobsters, flounder, steak, jumbo shrimp with walnuts, and banquet E-fu noodles and fried rice. There was also karaoke, though you have to be able to navigate the Chinese language interface. They have an attached indoor parking garage that is complimentary if you get your ticket stamped at the restaurant. The downside is that you have to give up your keys to the valet and though they are far from customer friendly, they expect a $5 minimum tip. read more

It's a good place for dim sum. As parking could be difficult in this part of the town, the underground parking lot helps a lot. We reserved a private room for a family gathering. Usually, we'd see staff pushes the carts around with food on it, but since we were sitting in a private room, we just ordered off their menus. The food tasted great. We ordered the typical dim sum dishes and they were authentic. Not to mention the tea they served us was good. Nothing like the cheap-tasting teas they serve in the other places. One good thing about our private rooms is it comes with our own private KTV machine. Crown One has a large open space with high ceilings, not very crowded since it's a bit off the main drag but within walking distance, though there's parking in their garage. Not too many carts around but they had most of the things we liked. Shrimp rice rolls had a lovely thin wrapper and humongous shrimp--the ratio was a bit off but it was still tasty! Har gow, the clear shrimp dumplings, were also fully packed with shrimp and came four to an order. The bean curd skin wrapped around bamboo was tasty but very meaty/shrimpy and needed more bamboo. Fried taro balls were also good! And one of their specialties is zha liang stuffed with shrimp (rice roll wrapped around a cruller that stuffed with shrimp)--it had a good crunch and flavor. Unfortunately, they didn't make my favorite dish, pan-fried chive dumplings :( So the dim sum is pretty solid here--nothing to dislike and the food was fresh and the flavors were right. The price point was a bit high with many of our dishes coming in as "special" plates for $6.95 each. Including tip, it came out to be about $24/person. read more

Been here twice, first time in December for a Holiday company party. Food was mediocre, but that's a given since it was such a large event. Second time last night, again food was mediocre. It was edible but nothing good or worth remembering. They also received a health rating of C. And they absolutely deserved the C, this place is filthy and unsanitary. Dirty plates left around out in the open. Being from Brooklyn anywhere with a parking garage is great. However, both times the parking attendants were a scam. Both times restaurant management said parking is free and only tip based. First time we decided to tip $5 but the attendant demanded $10. Second time we decided to tip $3, but the attendant demanded $5. There is a sign in the lot but it also says parking is based off tips and the "suggested" amount is $3-$5. There are no signs anywhere indicating that parking IS $10, $5, etc. AND, on top of that, you have to look for your car and drive it out yourself. This is not how "valet" parking works. Super disappointed in the place and will not be returning, there are plenty of other Asian restaurants all over flushing/queens that is more worth visiting. read more

If I was allowed to give zero stars, I would have given it. My wife and I had my wedding there a month ago there. Besides the food tasting decent, everything else went terribly wrong. First, the owner wanted and kept pushing us to pay more tips. We ended up paying more than 20%. The banquet rushed food out to the tables well before the wedding was over. Did I mention the owner wanted me to pay additional tip to the head chef? Waiters did not take care the tables. They did not frequently refill the tables with alcohols which we paid for. Instead, the waiters decided to steal the wine behind our back. Multiple of friends and family saw them. The owner screwed up on the table seating which we worked hard on it. Technically, it was the owner who gave me their table map. How can they screw it up? They originally designed for a dance floor in center. Luckily my parents caught the mistake a few hours before the venue started. At the end, it looked terrible. Some friends and family sat very far from stage. Most disappointing part of the wedding was not given the opportunity for my family, wife, and I to go around and thank the people for coming. Crown One is another fantastic find on Yelp. For those who have a car and like a restaurant near Flushing with it's own parking lot, Crown One is quite the find. The number one issue that deters people from coming to Flushing is the parking. Although the parking at Crown One is valet, you can safely get it parked for a few bucks. Located in College Point, the dim sum at Crown One is reasonably priced. It's a dollar per person for a tea charge. Dim sum is served traditionally here with cart ladies walking around the dining area. They were very nice and tried to pile more plates on my table. At some point I had to stop before there wasn't any room left on the table. Dim sum starts at $3.95 and up. There are plenty of choices here along with some interesting items such as a scallop dumpling. There were also many variants of Chiu Chow fun kor which was interesting. We had the chance to try a $22 plate of soft shell crab with sticky rice. The dish was very good as it has the requisite crisp to bring it up a notch. I would say that be best thing about Crown One is the spaciousness of the dining room. You could tell that this was once a theater, performance hall or banquet hall because of the super high ceilings and spaciousness. There are even signs outside reflecting its former history. The tables inside were not crammed together, unlike most Cantonese restaurants in Flushing. Therefore, that contributed to the mellow feeling and pleasantness I felt while having lunch. On one final note, you should look at the door sign before entering the restrooms because they left the restroom doors open. I nearly walked into the ladies room. Crown One is a large Chinese upscale restaurant serving dim sum in the morning and formal family style Cantonese dinner in the evening. There is free valet parking on the ground level. The restaurant is a bit farther away from the 7 train station and is located across from the projects in an industrial neighborhood, but the inside of the establishment is fit for royalty. It looks like an epic party hall with a center stage with tables on the theatre floor, across from a grand imperial staircase. The soft shell crab with sticky rice is a must get and possibly the best thing on the menu. The rice is more of a fried rice with golden egg pieces. The shrimp with walnuts and broccoli were average and not as crisp, but some people prefer softer shrimp with the sweet Mayo dressing. The lobster with ginger and scallion were the smallest lobsters I have seen in my life. The baby lobsters were not ready to be served in this grand dining ensemble. This place is incredible! I was told that its grand opening was just last week. You'll have to go up to the second floor to find it, but it's a really beautiful space (see photos). I had a mixture of dim sum (har gow, or crystal shrimp dumplings, and har cherng fun, or shrimp rice noodle rolls) as well as their regular dishes. These included ging do gwut (a kind of sweet and sour pork), which was perfectly crispy (yet not too oily), with a tangy yet sweet red sauce. I also had this seafood noodle soup with Chinese melon that was hearty and wholesome. Finally, we rounded out our meal with a soft shell crab fried rice dish. The rice was deliciously savory and full of bits of meat and scallions and egg - so many different flavors and textures! Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. This place is GREAT! Even before you sit down, there is FREE parking in the basement. (In most of the USA, free parking is expected, in downtown Flushing it is extraordinary. Even finding paid parking can be a challenge in downtown Flushing.) I was there with 12 adults, plus a toddler & an infant. We sat at a round table with a rotating disc in the center (a lazy Susan), I had arranged the dinner in advance & pre-ordered about 10 entrees plus dessert, with the assistance of my friend Ming, who speaks Cantonese. . Let's take a step back. This is a CHINESE (Cantonese) eatery in Flushing. Everyone in the place was Asian with the exception of some of the folks at my table. The banquet menu we had was in Chinese (although there was limited English subtitling). By less than a strange coincidence, two of my friends spoke Cantonese (although they could not read the Chinese characters). FOOD, the lobster was glazed with & served with some sauce, It was well received & those that eat it were very pleased with it, but we have no idea what the sauce was. The "fish glazed with ginger sauce" was excellent (but we have no idea what type of fish it was, Yes, we could have asked, & we did, but some things (like the species of fish, don't translate well in kitchen dialects. The eggrolls with other stuff were DELICIOUS, The fried rice was very good & slightly different than the usual fried rice... which always varies from restaurant to restaurant, but that is hardly surprising. The thing that was surprising was that the food was NOT salty, & not overly spicey. The portions were large & we had plenty of leftovers to take home. The Main dining room is huge & decked out with golden, carved moldings. (Although these days carved moldings are injection molded & plastic.) The ceiling appears to be supported by polished granite columns about 2 feet in diameter. The overall appearance is "Palacial." The staff were very polite & good at their jobs (even if language was a barrier). The price was high for an evening dinner, but considering that we had around ten courses (& large portions) the price was very reasonable. We spent almost two hours eating, everyone had their full. Although we tend to be a critical & grumpy gaggle of gastrophiles, all of us agreed that the food was excellent, as was the service, building, parking & everything else. Just like the name of the restaurant, it is like stepping into the palace. The place is huge. Even the restroom is so grand! We ordered the fish maw with crab meat soup, pitter melons with egg white, the Softshell crab with sticky rice and the pan fried lotus cake. They are all so delicious. The portion is big. With the great taste and the portion of the dish, the price is right! We can feel the excellent service from the minutes we walked in. We were the first table dine in for the night. The servers are checking in to make sure we were okay very frequently. We have not been to a nice restaurant like this in NYC for a long time. The dim sum here is decent but try to come here before 1PM. After 1PM, there's not much dim sum left and the same 2-3 carts start circling around. We typically have an OK experience here but they charged us THIRTY DOLLARS for ONE plate of Fried Vermicelli Singapore Style Noodles. One plate typically costs around $17-$18 dollars so we had no idea where the extra charge came from. We unfortunately didn't realize they overcharged us until we got home and went over the math. The family had dimsum here the morning after we flew into NY. There is an underground valet parking lot which is helpful as you know this part of Flushing is busy and the parking can be scarce. The restaurant is pretty huge with high ceilings. It must have been another type of restaurant in its previous incarnation as it has a very large glass chandelier and very ornate moldings. Not really to my taste but I'm here for the food. It's a weekday and carts were being pushed with the dimsum offerings. Where I'm from there are fewer dimsum restaurants and fewer customers enjoying dimsum on a weekday, and you have to order from a menu, not pick from a cart. Most people like the cart-experience but ordering from a menu can be an advantage as the food comes out steaming hot and fresh. The food itself was on par with most other places I've eaten at. We did order beef chow fun which was the only dish I didn't think had enough seasoning. And for some reason it seems like ordering noodle dishes from dimsum restaurants always seems more expensive than ordering at a non-dimsum restaurant, ala carte. Just my observation. The restaurant does validate your parking ticket. The funny thing was when we went back to retrieve my SIL's car from the valet lot, the valet got the keys then asked her if she wanted to get the car herself. Of course she said no. Lol! TL;DR: Overall, this restaurant gets an average rating from me (between 2.5-3/5). I commend them for not skimping on ingredients but at the end of the day, they charge more $$ than most other dim sum restaurants in Flushing so in a sense, you're getting what you paid for. This place is slightly out of the way but I drive so it wasn't a big deal. They have valet parking. I try to always give my poor to average reviews a second chance so I plan on coming back for round 2 or to try their dinner menu. Beware though; they are cricket-chirp quiet during the weekdays so they might huddle around you and pressure you to order more stuff in order to make money. I wouldn't mind it as much if it weren't for Omicron being so rampant right now and plus, I hadn't had my morning coffee that day so I kinda needed people to stay the f away for their own safety. ‍ Honorable mention: they have a promotion going on right now during weekdays, they charge only one price for all S/M/L dim sum (NOT to be confused with special/premium/chef dim sum - so basically everything I ordered below was NOT included in this promo). Shrimp rice roll: 2.75/5 I must admit, the shrimps inside these rolls are the biggest I've ever had at any dim sum restaurant, but the flavor and rice roll texture is just not quite there. The most important thing in any rice roll is not the filling but actually the "skin"/wrap. There are about 2-3 main ways to make rice rolls from scratch and the one utilized here is pretty much the easiest and cheapest method -- a quick rice flour mixture. I think what went wrong here was the ratio was off. (I feel strongly about this because I actually know my stuff - all 3 generations in my family know how to make rice rolls - a recipe which has been passed down). Mixed Tripe: 4/5 Taste is really a 3/5, I've definitely had much better tripe but I'm bumping the score to a 4 because here, they give you a lot. I'm glad they did because when I initially ordered I was thinking, "they better since they're charging me almost $8 ($7 plus tax) for this one thing!!" Most places will try to give you a bowl that's at least 50% filled with pancreas (not a preferable part due to its grittiness and taste) and chunks of turnip. Siu Mai: 3.5/5 They garnish their siu mai here with a single gojiberry (not at all a bad thing -- just wanted to point that out). I was slightly disappointed I didn't taste any pork but gave this a 3.5 out of 5 since it was all shrimp (which costs more than pork) and the rough chop by hand (meaning unevenly cut pieces of shrimp) gave it a really nice texture and chew. Flavor-wise, it's OK. Lotus Wrapped Sticky Rice (aka pearl chicken): 1.5/5 Please, just skip. It's bland. Salt was a 404 error here. This review is for the parking lot, not the restaurant. The restaurant itself is alright. Standard Chinese family-style food. However, the guys in charge of the valet parking during the day are SHADY AF. First off, they claim it's free with the restaurant stamp, but like another reviewer said, they will demand you for tip. We only had singles on us but the guy didn't let us leave until we gave him at least $5. Whatever, that's fine. BUT the next day, we realized they stole all the cash and some valuables we had left in our car. We went back to the parking lot, reporting this and the manager was super rude. He was screaming at us saying we were disrupting his job and kept insinuating that we could've lost it elsewhere. After watching the security camera footage, it was so obvious that he stole it. Classic thief behavior. We contacted the police and there is an ongoing investigation. These two disgusting men are lucky to have gotten away with it this time but karma is a bitch.
