My friend brought me to Bob's Noodles, because she liked this kind of thicker bouncy rice noodles. Unfortunately, they were out of the tomato broth that day. We ordered the: Sliced Chicken Guoqiao Rice Noodles ($14.99), Snakehead Fish w/ Pickled Cabbage Guoqiao Rice Noodles ($16.99), Sesame Sauce Beef Tripe ($9.59). Portion size was good. Each noodle comes with a bok choy, wood ear, mushroom, tofu skin, 2 quail eggs. Broth had a good savory flavor that clung well to the noodles. She liked how you have the option to add this mouth numbing peppercorn oil. Service was fast, staff was friendly, restaurant was clean, noodle was solid. There is one unisex bathroom. read more

The food was good but but amazing. The pricing was reasonable. I did like that there were plenty of seats available when we went on Sunday around 130ish in the afternoon. You can scan a QR code on your table and order that way, and the food came out quick. This is a good restaurant to go to if you dont want to wait in line to be seated. read more

Great ambiance and good food for good value!! Unlimited noodle refills for noodles around $15 each per bowl. My favorite was the original beef but my friend also liked the pork chop. The noodles were amazingly soft. Broth was so flavorful. Also loved the combo deal so worth it (will try next time!) but for now they also have other specials for their social media which made it even better value. However I will say the popcorn chicken seemed little chicken lots of breading and the chicken seemed very stringy inside. Service was also amazing, very attentive, as there were a lot of staff ratio compared to customers. Food came fast too. Only con is it's predominantly mandarin so expect to speak the language! read more

Great vibes, newly opened, so clean. The scan to order makes it so easy to order for large groups. Food is yummy and portion size is so well. The noodles had so much vegetables and extras, and the broth was so good. You can choose the level of "numbness". The durian puffs were so crispy and delicious. Came here for the second time already, and it definitely won't be my last! It's a relatively new noodle spot in Flushing, and it really stands out. The soup tastes completely different from other noodle soups I've tried -- it's rich, flavorful, and has its own unique depth. You can tell a lot of care goes into it. I absolutely love it. This place seriously surprised me in the best way. I've tried a lot of rice noodle spots, but this one really stands out. First of all, the noodles were excellent. The texture was just right, soft but still pleasantly chewy. The broth was rich, comforting, and very flavorful without being overly salty or heavy. You can immediately tell it's not made from some pre-made base. It tastes like a soup that has been thoughtfully developed and cooked with real ingredients. One thing I really liked about their broth is the flavor profile. Compared to traditional crossing-the-bridge rice noodles, there is a slight numbing spice to it. It's very subtle and balanced, and you can choose the level of numbness depending on what you prefer. Personally I loved that little bit of mala flavor because it adds a really nice depth to the soup. The chili sauce is another highlight. It tastes like something the restaurant created themselves rather than a generic sauce. It's spicy, fragrant, and very aromatic. You can add it into the soup depending on how spicy you want your bowl to be, and it makes the flavors even better. The ingredients also tasted very fresh. The vegetables were crisp, the meat was tender, and the whole bowl felt clean and well prepared. It definitely didn't taste like the kind of food that relies on pre-made ingredients. Even the small side dishes and cold appetizers were really good. You can tell the owner has put a lot of thought into the seasoning and flavor. Everything feels carefully crafted rather than just standard menu items. Overall this is not your typical rice noodle shop. The soup and flavors clearly have their own character and you can tell a lot of care went into creating them. If you enjoy rice noodles and want something that feels authentic but also a little different, this place is definitely worth trying. I will absolutely be coming back. read more

Bob's Noodles was the perfect choice for a rainy day in NYC. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the bowl has a perfect balance of veggies and meats. The peppercorn oil is super unique and pairs really well with the soup, and especially love their hot sauce. The batter was more hard than crispy, but the idea that boneless dark meat isn't more juicy simply tells me that the chef over fried the pieces. It came with Fried sweet plantains, which could have been a but more ripe but not bad. I'm not sure how I feel about the Beef Stew (Carne Guisada), which had relatively tender meat, but the sauce was so weak and lacked any real flavor. The black beans and white rice that came with it was decent. What might bring me back to this restaurant sooner rather than later was the Shrimp Egg Foo Young (foo Young Con Camarones). I felt that the eggs were cooked extremely well, but the star of the show was that delicious brown sauce full of umami. Having this over white or fried rice made this meal much more acceptable. I'm not sure when I'll have another craving for this type of food. If I do, I'll definitely get the egg foo young again. However, the other dishes were misses for me, so maybe I'll try the Fried Pork Chops and Shredded Beef in Tomato SayceRopa Vieja.

This place is delicious and very affordable. I recommend getting the shredded potato and the shrimp cheese balls as appetizers, they come with Bob's sauce which is a specialty sauce made by Bob himself. The staff was so kind and attentive and the soup noodles were so flavorful. I got the lamb and it was delicious. I also tried the stir fried noodles and they were great too. The portions are big and amazing for the price point. Definitely recommend. read more

The rice noodles here are absolutely delicious. The broth is rich and flavorful, and the noodles have a perfect texture--smooth, soft, and very satisfying. Every bite tastes fresh and comforting. The ingredients are well-balanced, and you can really tell that care goes into preparing each bowl. If you enjoy authentic rice noodle dishes, this place is definitely worth trying. Open less than a week, this restaurant serves flavorful rice noodle dishes in a pleasant open space with a fountain. The clay pot dishes and cold cucumber were superb. You choose your preferred spice level. Prices are extremely reasonable and service great. read more

Despite that, a 15% gratuity was automatically added to my bill. Thin slices so it was tender but a little over cooked/dry. And the century egg was diced into little pieces, those were as expected. Service was minimal but I didn't need much except to order given the condiments and napkins were already on the table. I was lucky to score a booth even though I was dining by myself. I did spot a few folks at other tables to see what they ordered and noodle dishes were definitely the favorite. I'll have to try it next time. Notably because I don't often eat spicy, it may be hard to find a noodle dish that isn't! So FYI... I would totally return but with friends since it is too hard to order just one thing! Definitely a large enough menu to explore cold dishes, hot appetizers, snacks and sides. The menu is like two sides and from the picture, a lot to read.

I ordered a Sichuan classic, twice cooked pork, and a new dish I've never seen before, snow pea leaves in broth. The twice cooked pork was a fantastic iteration of this dish. The pork was sliced thin with the perfect amount of chew which paired well texturally with the soft, buttery leeks. The flavor was so well balanced while being heavily seasoned and the smoky wok hei flavor really comes through. The snow pea leaves were soft and silky with tender stems, and they came served in a golden broth with some mushrooms, juicy tomato and snappy pieces of black fungus. The dish is topped with a century egg. I found the broth itself to have a bit of a grainy texture when sipped. I've tried century egg in the past and while I'm not disgusted by it, I never quite felt like I understand the ingredient until eating this dish. The creamy, funky flavor of the egg reminds me of blue cheese and it pairs very well with the subtle flavors of the snow pea leaves and amplifies the richness of the broth. I really enjoyed my experience here and would like to return with a group to try more of the Sichuan classics on the menu.
