Had a late night noodle soup craving and came across this spot. I went with the spicy green peppercorn crossbridge style noodle soup and honestly really enjoyed it. Super comforting and satisfying!!! The spice level wasn't overwhelming, but it still had that numbing mala kick I like. Definitely better with rice noodles! One thing to note is that it doesn't actually come with protein or vegetables by default. You have to order everything separately, which wasn't super clear since the pictures made it look more complete than it is... I also tried the shredded potatoes, which was pickled...I've had better elsewhere. Got a side of pig ears as well. It was fine, but they were sliced very thin so there wasn't much to it. I'm not a huge fan of this place... because like some other reviewers mentioned, the broth is quite bland and the rice noodles aren't as bouncy as they should be. Maybe if you like your soup noodle with less flavours you would like this place but it's never not to our palate..and we're not very picky eaters. service was amazing as they're quite attentive and it's great that it's spacious so you probably don't have to worry about waiting for a table. Walking in for the first time, I didn't know what to expect. The sign indicates that it's open 24/7 which is very rare these days for any establishment. My first experience was actually last month, for take out. And I was quite happy with my order... just a snack, in which I ordered the fried taro. That was delicious! So this second visit I decided to do a dine-in experience. And given it was 6:50am in the morning, I was very happy to recall they were open. (I was surprised how quiet Flushing area is at the crack of dawn). I secretly wanted a traditional eggs and toast breakfast but obviously not in Flushing and at that time of day. So I picked out the next best thing... To which I must say I totally over ordered but I was happily full. The breakfast I designed for myself: side order of Taiwanese sausage, a hard boiled soy sauce egg, and a hot soy milk no sugar. It was fulfilling a craving but I knew it was not what they are known for so I forced the hand and ordered the Congee/rice porridge with the century old egg and pork. This was definitely not the traditional Cantonese style version but a nice breakfast item nonetheless. This version of congee was much more watery. I didn't mind but I would've preferred it less. There was a nice surprise of green vegetables as that's not normally found in this type of dish. The pork was also not minced but rather sliced pieces. Thin slices so it was tender but a little over cooked/dry. And the century egg was diced into little pieces, those were as expected. Service was minimal but I didn't need much except to order given the condiments and napkins were already on the table. I was lucky to score a booth even though I was dining by myself. I did spot a few folks at other tables to see what they ordered and noodle dishes were definitely the favorite. I'll have to try it next time. Notably because I don't often eat spicy, it may be hard to find a noodle dish that isn't! So FYI... I would totally return but with friends since it is too hard to order just one thing! Was craving some rice noodle soup since it was cold outside and so we decided to come here for a casual late lunch. They serve the classic, affordable Yunnan rice noodle soup with all the toppings deconstructed into little side dishes. We ordered the first option-- the spicy green pepper crossbridge noodle soup. Although we have an okay spice tolerance, do be warned it is pretty spicy!! We even asked for it to be less spicy when ordering but it was still a decent amount of spice so we asked for some extra plain broth on the side. As for portion size, the amount of rice noodles they give you is MASSIVE. They basically give you an entire mountain of noodles, and next to your table on the wall there's even a sign that says you can get a free second serving of noodles (we could barely finish the first serving of noodles). Service is quick, and our order came pretty quickly as well. It's not my first time having Yunnan cuisine, I just wish that they served some other classic Yunnan dishes as well! A great noodle shop that's also open 24/7! I got the curry coconut rice noodle soup, which was delicious. In addition to a generous portion of rice noodles (noodle refills are free if you dine in, by the way!), the meal came with items like a quail egg, corn, Chinese sausage, et cetera, which you cook in the piping hot broth. The service was friendly if a bit awkward due to the language barrier. The rice noodles were also overcooked and had no bounce whatsoever. I rarely no finish a bowl of noodles, let alone one I shared with two other friends. You get the picture. The three small apps we ordered were just okay. The most enjoyable dish we ordered was probably the Fried Squid Legs, which had an amazing seasoning that made us somewhat forgive the fact that it was overcooked. The chewy jerky-like feel was actually growing on me because I got to chew the flavorful piece of squid longer. Broth then noodle and protein. They have bowls of noodles, skewers and congee for breakfast. Lots to try! I asked the waiter for suggestions and tried some of the popular items like the skewers. What initially drew me to Yunnan Noodle was their 24/7 operation, which is a rare find. Conveniently located on Main Street, just about a block and a half from Northern Boulevard, parking in Flushing is much easier at odd hours, making it perfect for a late-night or early-morning visit. We went around 10 p.m. on a Friday night, and the wait staff was attentive from the moment we sat down. We ordered the vegetarian rice noodle soup, salty crispy chicken, garlic cucumber, deep-fried tofu with garlic sauce, and sweet potato rice soup. The food was solid overall, though they forgot the sweet potato dish. Thankfully, they quickly corrected the bill when we pointed it out. The interior has a modern, thoughtful design, with interesting art on the walls, small pitched rafters over each table, and interesting mountain themed lighting adding to the ambiance. Was looking for a place to eat after attending the Yelpies. Congratulations to all the Yelpies winners and nominates! This place had a grand opening sign so we decided to try it. We ordered noodles. I picked a tomato based soup with rice noodles (other options are sweet potato noodles or wheat based/Shanghai noodles) and add on bok choy, pork and fish balls, and mixed mushrooms. We received a tray full of items reading from uncooked bacon, tofu, and various items. I included a picture of all the items included in the tray. We saw this new-ish(?) noodle restaurant in downtown Flushing while walking by last week and wanted to try it out. My little family joins up in Flushing for dinner once a week on our way home from our respective work places to have family bonding time and like to try out new restaurants. At first I thought this was a rice roll restaurant, but turns out to be a Northern Chinese noodle soup place. The 2 sided menu has a lot of appetizers, both cold & hot, on one side and a full choice spectrum of noodle soup combinations on the other, which can be a little intimidating. Starting with a few appetizers is the way to ease into it. First up is the shredded boneless chicken in chili & peanut sauce. We asked for not too spicy and the flavor was spot on. I'm sure they could have made it super hot if we had asked. Next was a sampling of grilled chicken, beef & lamb skewers that were really tasty, spiced with cumin and a metal fry basket of fried squid tentacles. Squid was a little chewy, but seasoned well. It probably wouldn't have been a good idea a few weeks ago during the heat wave to have boiling hot noodle soup, but since it cooled off this week, bring it on. My son ordered one of the Crossbridge Noodle Sets and I had no idea what it was, but it comes with an array of 10 mini side dishes with items such as ham, Chinese sausage, fish tofu, scallions, pickled cabbage, a sort of mushy beef stew(?), all surrounding a box of veggies. The stone crock of soup had mixed mushrooms and was accompanied by a bowl of Shanghai wheat noodles that he had chosen. He had to start assembling his dinner. My wife & I had it simpler with the casserole noodles. Hers was the sliced beef, enoki mushrooms and tomato soup with rice noodles, while mine was the beef tendon soup with Shanghai wheat noodles. Mine was just steaming hot, while hers came in a violent, roiling boil! Those stone tureens hold some serious heat! We only had to pour in our noodles, stir it around and was ready to eat (once it came down to only scalding temps). I probably should have taken advantage of the unlimited noodle refills, but I was pretty satisfied with the one bowl. I still can't get over that they are open 24/7. This area is pretty dead late at night, but the 7 train and buses run all night, so there is still foot traffic at 2-4 am. I just think it's tough to justify having even a skeleton crew for maybe 1-2 extra customers overnight, but I guess they can with some of the nightclubs and bars in the area. I just might have to get up in the middle of the night to have a stone crock of noodles, just to say I've done it. At least there should be plenty of parking in the wee hours. read more

Made the mistake of wearing shorts in 50 degree F weather so I needed a warm meal to end the night. I came here as recommended by a friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The fried tofu was super crispy and topped with a sweet, garlicky sauce that makes you go back for another piece. I love that this place has congee as well. I've been having noodles nonstop for the last few days so this was a great change of pace. Their version of congee comes with pork and century egg. This was actually my first time having century egg, and even though I heard it can be an acquired taste, I had no qualms with it! It was a good addition to the congee since you almost always need add-ins to complete your rice porridge. For anyone who has tried the Filipino dish "Balut", I would said the flavor is akin to that. The Szechuan noodle soup was packed with flavor but not too spicy, which I liked. It also came with a wide assortment of garnishes/meats/ and veggies to toss in. My friend and I were pretty full after eating all our food but apparently you are able to ask for unlimited noodles, a nice perk! My friend loves this place and I found out they have a all you can eat option for breakfast. I got the dinner option at first and got the Yunnan noodles with pork. It was very underwhelming but they have free refills of the rice noodles. I got the refill and it was pretty filling. I asked for hot oil on the side which helped with the taste too. We had to ask for hot oil three times to actually get it. The prices were pretty good for what you get. The breakfast ayce was $8 and had a good amount of options but none was spectacular but I think I had my expectations too high. Congee is simple. The fried dough was good. They messed up our order but we got it resolved. Overall, I wouldn't get breakfast again. The noodles menu, I would consider but I wouldn't be in any rush to get it. Open 24/7, for around $13 you get a piping hot bowl of noodles or bowls or noodles depending on how hungry you are since they have unlimited noodle refills with 3 different noodle options. Forgot to take pictures but I would recommend you get the Spicy Green Pepper Noodle Soup if you like a little spice and can tolerate some Mala. I would say the service is a little bit slow depending on how busy it gets but when I went at around 1AM, the place was getting packed so service wasn't the quickest. But for the value, convenience and quality of the food. I would say this is a phenomenal spot for dinner or if you get hungry after a night out. read more

Turns out the staff seemed biased towards certain customers... We were a party of 4 and arrived at the restaurant around 11 PM. We were able to get seated but once we sat down, we were ignored and ended up leaving. One of our party members tried getting our servers attention several times and even got up to bring them to our table, but each time the server would ignore us or walk back in the kitchen to avoid us. There soon to be three other parties who were also groups of 4 that came after us and were able to order and get their food before us (however, they seemed to be locals).
