Wonderful new spot! The food was really good and the service was too! There is a bit of a wait because they're newer & very popular but FOR GOOD REASON BECAUSE ITS DELICIOUS!

Familiar with Isarn and Kin Len, so naturally I found out about Gao Lhao when they were first opening. Finally got around to trying after a weekend of walking. Wait went by fast and service was wonderful. Noodles were delicious, plentiful, and great value. Appetizers on the other hand, I thought were less exciting. House-made Crispy Chive Cakes - super similar to a Korean seafood pancake, almost like a cousin to the Korean classic. Same texture without the protein as this appetizer is vegan friendly. Not super crispy, the interior mash of chives makes up a bulk of the texture. Tastes very oily and heavy, would not be on my list to order again. Fish Sauce Wings - my friends and I have been to a place in South Seattle that does it best, so we're definitely biased. These wings weren't as crispy and flavorful, but they're still decent. Chicken wasn't dry, skin was fried once, and the fish sauce was light. They do provide fish sauce on the side, but I think the chicken itself could use more seasoning prior to frying. Worth ordering again, but I'd come here mainly for noodles. Bha Mee Hang Bowl - I got option 3 with crab, pork, and egg. All of the bowls come with a generous portion of tasty dry egg noodles. Savory, bouncy, springy, and quite QQ. I was pleasantly surprised with the proteins. A few bites of crab meat, some decently crispy pork belly (the specialty spots in Chinatown do it crispier, obviously), sweet char siu, and a soft boiled egg! Only complaint, which isn't too reasonable, is that the vegetables are mainly end pieces and not leafy greens. Would love a better mixture.

So happy we checked out Gao Lhao. I'm a big fan of Kin Len, so I was excited to see what this spot had to offer. Overall, everything we ordered was good, with the standout being the spicy pork jowl tossed noodles. It's a cold noodle dish, which we didn't expect, but the flavors were spot on and tasted incredibly fresh. The spicy beef salad was pretty standard and a bit under-seasoned, and the steak itself was just okay. The XO noodles leaned a little bland as well, though the seafood quality was good. One dish I wouldn't recommend is the mango sticky rice. The rice was not sticky and felt quite undercooked. Since they use black rice, which requires more time and care, it's something that could definitely be improved. We visited on a Saturday around 3 pm and still had about a 30-minute wait, which was a bit unexpected. The restaurant also seemed slightly understaffed, as service was slower and we waited a while to be attended to. Despite that, I'd still be interested in coming back to explore more of the menu.

Good food, great service. Awesome!! Located by Greenlake, 1 block behind starbuck, across from road runner store. Restroom: male and female restrooms Seating: indoor, lots of room, good for small and big group. Fast service Parking: some free and pay street parking or park at pcc parking garage 1.5hr limit They have lots of different kind of dishes we normally dont see in other thai restaurants. We ordered: Kurobuta noddle soup - good, very strong flavour in the sweet side Oyster pancake - taste good, but wish they use the smaller Oyster instead Ny steak curry w rice - very nice curry flavour. The rice is kinda wet. Overall good. Definitely will come back to try other dishes.

Great ambience with a mellow dim lighting and lots of decor. The Tom Yum Moo had crispy pork belly that we found a bit dry but the soup was not oily and light with a tomato forward taste. The char siu in it was your average char siu, not dry. The yaowarat street curry was our favorite! It's super flavorful without being heavy despite being a thicker curry consistency and the chicken was not dry. I loved the refreshing-ness of the cucumber salad to balance the curry. The dragonfruit drink was alright. It tasted good but it was described as fizzy which it wasn't. But it was refreshing. It's a popular place that has about 30 minute wait during dinner when we went.

I decided to try their Tom Yum Soup and calamari appetizers and they were both pretty good! The Tom yum soup was pretty flavorful and I enjoyed the meat that came with it. However, there was a decent amount of lemongrass bits in the soup that I wished wasn't a part of it. The calamari was pretty good. The battered wasn't heavy and it was crispy and easy to chew. The service was good. The food didn't take long to make. I went during the night this time and it looks pretty at that time because of the lighting. Highly recommend coming at night because the ambiance is much better.

Heard this place is owned by the same owner as Kin Len's so i definitely had to check it out, and it did not disappoint! The portions were pretty big and delicious! We got the bha mee hang which seemed more chinese than thai. It was a really filling bowl and the sauce in the noodles were pretty good. The chicken wings were amazingggg. So crispy, garlicky, and tender! The tom yum hot pot was on the sweeter side than i expected but still good. The seafood one came with a decent amount of seafood. The shrimp was quite pasty though. Seems like other people usually had to wait, but I came on a Friday night and it wasn't too busy. We got seated at the bar right away and service was fast. Our food came out so quickly! The ambiance of this restaurant was quite nice too! It kind of a retro vibe but also upscale.

Came here over the weekend and was able to get seated right away, which was a nice start. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant had a lively vibe--lots of families and groups of friends, and the space itself is well decorated. Definitely a casual, energetic spot. I ordered the khao soi, which is usually my go-to whenever I see it on a menu. The portion size was huge--honestly way more than I expected. I couldn't even finish half and ended up mostly eating the chicken and some noodles before I was full. It's easily shareable or could be stretched into multiple meals. Flavor-wise, it was delicious and definitely hit the spot. The broth was solid, and while it's not the absolute best khao soi I've ever had, it's still very satisfying. One highlight was the chili oil--definitely try dipping the chicken in it if you like a bit of heat, it's really good. One small note: you do have to ask for chopsticks if you want them. Overall, a great option if you're into Thai noodle soups. There are plenty of other dishes on the menu too, so lots to explore on future visits.

The food and ambiance were great, although a lot of the dishes had similar flavor profiles, so we didn't feel like we were trying anything new between dishes. The calamari salted egg yolk salad was also very underwhelming, and felt like multiple ingredients haphazardly thrown together. The decorations were beautiful, definitely one of the coolest spaces I've eaten at in Seattle. Overall, definitely try coming with a group to split and try a variety of dishes, especially since their price point is a little higher.

Located in the Green Lake area, GAO Lhao is a beautiful spot with a great atmosphere. We ordered the Bha Mee Hang, and it was easily the highlight. Not only did it look amazing, but it tasted just as good. It came loaded with Dungeness crab, crispy pork belly, BBQ pork, wontons, and egg. The portion was generous honestly enough to feed two people. We also tried the crispy pork belly wontons, chicken skewers, fish sauce wings, and a Thai tea slush. Everything was flavorful and well prepared, and you can tell they put effort into both presentation and taste. Service was great as well staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. My family and I really enjoyed our visit. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to!

I came back to Gao Lhao in Green Lake and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing (again). This time I ordered the tom yum noodles and calamari--both were so good. The tom yum had the perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savory flavors. It was super flavorful and honestly just hit the spot. The crispy pork added such a nice texture and made the dish even better. The calamari was also really good--crispy, light, and not greasy. Overall, I'm already looking forward to trying more dishes from their menu. Definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to!

    Sizzling Suki

Let me start this off by saying this is the prettiest restaurant I have been to, ever. It's beautifully decorated, lots of plants, plenty of seating. We sat at the bar, and my 6'5 husband had plenty of leg room. Only thing I would change is to add coat/purse hooks under the bar. Service was absolutely fantastic. From the bartender to the runners not a single complaint, every request was promptly made. Food was not only top tier in quality, flavor, and size, but also price. One thing I wanted to really praise is the Sizzling Suki, we ordered it with seafood. I was shocked by how much seafood there was, they didn't hold back. Drinks were good too! We ordered 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and an app and it was only $85. We 100% will be back.

Finally tried Gao Lhao Bangkok Noodle Shop and I'm already planning my next visit. Everything tasted authentic and full of flavor. The boat house noodle soup had a rich, savory broth topped with tender slices of meat, fish ball, crispy garlic, and herbs that tied everything together. The steak fried rice dish was just as good - creamy, aromatic, and packed with bold flavors. Pairing it with rice made it even better. We also enjoyed their thai iced coffee - and I'm looking forward to trying their slushies when it gets warmer out. The staff were very welcoming and attentive, the restaurant was cute and lively, and the food came out fast. If you're craving comforting noodles or another flavorful Thai dish, this place delivers. Highly recommend trying it if you're in the area!

They have locations both in Downtown Seattle and Greenlake, but I have only been to their Downtown Seattle location which has a beautiful view of the Puget Sound. The atmosphere is dark, trendy, and modern- perfect for a date night or nice evening out. While they are a white table cloth, sit-down restaurant, you can dress casually or dress up a bit - both are completely acceptable. This most recent visit I ordered the COCONUT PANANG CURRY with chicken ($25.95) and my friend ordered her favorite dish, SALMON GARLIC FRIED RICE ($28.95). On a past visit, I've had their CLAY POT SHRIMP & GLASS NOODLES (KOONG OB WOONSEN) ($27.95) which was absolutely fantastic and has had me hooked on Pad Woonsen ever since! I saw the COCONUT PANANG CURRY recently in my Instagram feed and knew I had to get it. It is served in a whole coconut (yes a real, fresh coconut!) and comes with a champagne flute of fresh coconut juice from the coconut they hollowed out and a side of Jasmine rice. The curry was rich, flavorful, and full of Thai basil and peppers. The coconut juice was light and refreshing and a great contrast to the thick curry. The SALMON GARLIC FRIED RICE (which I've sampled before), is gigantic, aromatic, and served with a giant grilled garlic butter fillet of salmon on top. The salmon is extremely moist, oily, and bursting with flavor. The rice is fragrant and has garlic paste, red bell pepper, carrots, and green onion. If you're looking for a tasty and protein-packed meal, this is the dish! Parking is honestly tough in this area as it's located on 1st. They have limited street parking and a few paid parking garage options around. I recommend light railing or Ubering here if you're not already in the downtown Seattle area. Service is always great and we always get our food quickly, no matter how crowded they are. The staff also take the time to check up on your table during your meal. Overall: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service, 5/5 for atmosphere

Even though I really wanted to love this place, this place was definitely overhyped; I'd say it's about the same level as A Ma's, which I also didn't enjoy. It might be because the place has gone super viral as we ended up waiting 80 minutes on a Saturday night, so quality control might be more difficult at this point. Tip: the iPad will say the wait is 30 minutes, do not trust the iPad. Hainan Chicken was tasteless and overcooked. The texture was way too chewy and was my least favorite preparation of the night. Gai Tod (fried) was better with a crispy outside, but still a tad overcooked. Gai Yang (grilled) was definitely the best version of chicken and is solid enough if you live nearby, but definitely not driving out of your way or waiting for. Rice wasn't super fluffy and I just prefer garlic rice over ginger. The chicken stock is probably the best part of the rice plates. Upside is the joint is definitely family owned and they do their best to provide good service in spite of the chaos. They'll take your order before you get seated, so the food comes out fast and are generally very sweet when checking in.

Typically, four dishes can serve three people, but I felt like these could have served five. The fried papaya salad was lightly battered with a typical papaya salad dipping sauce featuring a base of fish sauce, green beans, tomatoes, and chilies. It was good. The crispy fried rice was served with lettuce wraps, and OMG, I kid you not when I tell you this is some of the crispiest rice I've ever had. It's hard to find, but when you do, you can't wait to take another bite. I thought the khao soi overall was not bad.
