    Boiled pork

The pork Jowl was very tender and a great base for the sauces: - sweet soy sauce., sweet garlic, salty mini shrimp and my favorite - samjang. The kimchi banchan was fresh and I liked the radish one the best. The pork soup was very yummy and I would recommend. I got it with rice and that was a great hearty meal. I enjoyed the slices of pork also in the soup. Would come again. Also the server was quite nice and explained the sauces go with what and the inside of the place is very clean and gives more classic dark walnut and canvas older Korean style. Good aesthetics.

I loved this place! Located in the northern part of Capitol Hill, it isn't too in the midst of the hustle bustle and they have such a nice indoor space. The tables are clean and well spread out, and the vibe inside is really nice. The menu is limited since they specialize in the gukbap. I got the classic pork soup with rice, and we also had an order of the dumplings to share. They give you a couple of kimchi dishes too, and all the seasonings you need so you can add them to your soup. The portions are generous, and it was so delicious! The broth tasted rich yet light and clean, and there were plenty of different cuts of pork inside. It paired so well with the kimchi and rice, and was a hearty yet not too heavy meal. I also liked the dumplings as they clearly felt homemade, but I didn't think they were anything too special flavor wise. Worth trying though! I'd definitely be back whenever I'm craving a nice bowl of soup and rice!

Mandu was amazing, but everything else was absolutely mediocre

Absolutely horrendous experience. This place represents neither Busan nor proper dwaeji gukbap. They had apparently run out of both kimchi and ggakdugi, which can happen, but there were no price adjustments or substitute side dishes offered. It felt like being served chips without salsa at a Mexican restaurant. The self-serve utensil station was empty, and when I asked for utensils, they were filthy. The servers also did not seem familiar with the menu and appeared disorganized throughout the service. This place does not feel like it is run by chefs or people passionate about food, but rather by opportunistic investors focused on maximizing profit. The broth tasted no different from a $4 shelf-stable Bibigo soup base. It is disappointing to see such an iconic Korean comfort food misrepresented to people who may be trying it for the first time, while also being downgraded in both flavor and quality. I would like to note that mandu (dumplings) absolutely delicious despite everything. I genuinely hope the restaurant improves, because I would like to come back someday and have a better experience. Seattle used to be a place where creativity and inspiration drove both authentic and fusion cuisine. Sadly, this is neither. You are much better off driving down to Federal Way for far more authentic and satisfying Korean food.

Finally got around to trying this new Korean spot! I came in on a Sunday for lunch and was sat immediately. The space is a little small, but feels airy and clean. I ordered the pork soup with rice and side of dumplings. The soup itself was super creamy and rich, but also pretty well seasoned? I think I would've preferred they keep it bland, and I can season it. Especially given that they have salt/pepper/chili at the table. There was a surprising amount of pork in the soup which was nice. It was just super nice and hearty. Dumplings were good as well. A liiiittle pricey per dump though. For the kimchi, I don't prefer fresh kimchi, so was a little sad about that. Overall, a really solid spot. I love places that specialize and only serve a couple things and this place does it pretty well! You bet I'll be back haha

Korean pork bone soup. If you go for dinner, ensure you go early (before 6pm) otherwise you risk the chance of them being sold out for the night even though they close at 10pm. Soup is comforting and home-like. Dumplings are also quite filling and home-made.

My partner went for the clear broth and I went for the bone broth and you couldn't go wrong with either. The clear is clean and pork-forward; the bone broth is creamy, rich, and deeply balanced. Either way, the soup is the star, and both bowls were loaded with tender fatty pork cuts. We also tried the dumplings, perfectly springy and light, stuffed with a pork tofu noodle mix. The kimchi leans umami-rich over fermented-acidic and could use a little more tang, but still solid overall. This is hands down the best Korean pork soup in the greater Seattle area and we will absolutely be back.

they specialize in pork bone soup so menu is small and focused. the gukbap slapped so hard, esp since weather was a bit chilly when i went for dinner. super flavorful 100% pork bone soup, tenderly cooked pieces of pork. overall was lacking in flavor a bit for me but adding green onions to the soup, and eating the pork with their house made kimchi and chili dipping sauce helped a lot. really authentic and unique spot for gukbap in seattle, fairly priced too, happy to come back. for reference line started building up around 6pm on a friday. service is quick and prompt though with nice staff.

I don't know what these other people are on about. I'm Korean, came here with my cousin and her husband who are straight from Korea. The food is fire and I will not elaborate.

Surprisingly no line on a Sunday night. Small cozy interior. Glad I got to try this place before it gets too busy! Ordered the pork gukbap, generous amount of meat and was very fresh and clean soup and already well seasoned. Also had some declicious and fresh kimchi. We were also able to try the mandu, which you could tell were definitely homemade! Suyuk was also declicious, and not too gamey, paired well with the sides that were provided. All of food was declicious and my friend who is korean said it was authentic and would come again! Staff were also friendly and nice!

I've been able to stop by twice since the opening week and both times have hit the spot on rainy days. The staff member has been kind and attentive on both visits. The pork soup with rice was good and hearty on both visits, and I appreciate the freshness of the kimchi side. On my last visit I was able to try the Sikhye and found it really tasty to finish off the meal. I'll be coming back here to see how this place grows since the menu items are still being stocked from what I understand.

i loveee pork gukbap so was really excited to see a dedicated soup store pop up in seattle!! we visited during opening week for dinner and our server mentioned they had a limited menu since they're still new but will have more items soon (like scallion pancake!) we ordered: - the dumplings: i really liked these!! the filling was meaty and flavorful, skin is chewy but not too thick, and the sauce it comes with is very good - pork soup w rice: generous portions of thick cut boiled pork and thin pork slices. served with fresh garlic, salt/pep, red seasoning paste on the side, so you can season to your liking. the broth was very creamy and clean :) - pork noodle soup: we thought this was going to be the same as the pork soup with rice (except with noodles), but we were wrong! this one came heavily seasoned already, and honestly tasted more rich/oily, similar to tonkotsu ramen. it was still yummy but not quite the same flavor profile as the gukbap if thats what you are craving overall a great, cozy experience and would love to be back!

Nice meal to warm the soul on a rainy day. I appreciated the jazz playing while I ate. The server was friendly too!

Got there around 7:00pm on a random Friday. There was a line when we went that took about 25 minutes to get us sat. They took our order fairly quickly. We ordered two of the normal pork soup with rice and a ten piece dumpling. The dumplings were really good and clearly made by hand so we enjoyed it a lot. The soup was very good. I was impressed they got it pretty close to what I remember having in Busan. Not as deep but still very very good. They ran out of dumplings after our order and ran out of the pork soup with noodles as well as a warning to anyone who's reading this. Better to go earlier in the day if you want to guarantee supply. Price is on par with other Seattle restaurants which leans it on the high side. The inside looks good, I like that they made it look like a Korean restaurant you'd see Koreatown, LA. All in all this is a great addition to Seattle especially given the mediocre Korean food scene we have here. Hopefully we keep getting some more solid options like this. 4/5 due to wait and price. Would bump up to 5/5 if it wasn't for the wait.

Thankfully they are open today on the Fourth of July (they will just close a little earlier for the holiday), and I was happy to see that not much has changed since my last visit. Without even realizing it, I ended up ordering the exact same drink I got the first time: a Matcha Float with mochi. I guess you really can't go wrong with it because it's still just as creamy and satisfying as I remembered. The only tiny downside is that it only comes with three small mochi balls, so for almost $9 I wish there were a few more. However, the quality of the matcha is consistently excellent, sooo I don't regret coming back. They have wonderful customer service too! The employee helping me at the register was incredibly patient while I stood there trying to decide what to order. As an awkward introvert, I always feel a little flustered when ordering, but she never made me feel rushed or uncomfortable. She asked my sweetness preference for the Matcha Float, whether I wanted to dine in or take everything to go, and even carefully packed up my yuzu green tea packet with the rest of my order. She was very kind and thoughtful so just wanna say I really appreciate how welcoming she was. Even from my last Seattle visit two years ago, I still remember the employees being helpful and friendly here. I also have to recommend their desserts from my previous visit. (I skipped the sweets this time due to my budget but I still suggest picking up some of their sweets!). The Matcha Basque Cheesecake and the Matcha Tiramisu were both absolutely delicious, and I still remember how amazing they tasted even two years later. The tiramisu is only around $7 and is definitely worth trying if you're a matcha lover. This visit, I picked up their yuzu green tea packet to take home (last time, I got the hojicha). Each packet contains 15 individual tea bags and costs about $10 (not bad for how much tea is in each tea bag). They also sell matcha powder and other tea goodies. I'm looking forward to brewing the yuzu green tea at home since a good cup of hot tea is always comforting, especially when I'm sick (I've been recovering from a cold so tea has been a lifesaver to warm me up!). I actually stopped by for lunch since I didn't eat breakfast, and ordered the Sukiyaki Don (it was much more satisfying than I expected). I was craving a beef bowl and Nana's was one of the few places in the area within walking distance from my work, that was actually open for the holiday today, lucky me! It came with miso soup and a soft-boiled egg, and I was pleasantly surprised to find tofu and mushrooms in the bowl alongside the beef. It left me FULL, my tummy happy, heck yeah. Costs almost $20 but worth satisfying a craving. I won't lie.. I somehow managed to spend about $40 today between my meal, drink, and tea to take home. More than I intended to spend but no regrets, because everything was delicious and the quality has remained consistently high over the years. The only thing that made my visit a little uncomfortable wasn't the café itself. There were quite a few homeless individuals lingering around the front of the building, so I decided against dining out front like I had originally planned since I wanted to enjoy the nice weather, but one of them was panhandling me so I promptly left (thankfully I asked for my order to be packaged for takeout). That's obviously outside of the café's control, and it didn't affect the food or service at all. They still had many seats available inside but probably because it's the holiday. If I recall, the place was packed during the afternoon when I last visited on a weekday. I will still say that Nana's Green Tea continues to be one of my favorite matcha spots whenever I'm in Seattle. Between the consistently high-quality matcha, delicious meals and desserts, excellent selection of teas to bring home, and genuinely exemplary customer service, it's a place I'll happily keep returning to whenever I'm back in town and have the time to visit.

She had wanted to visit for a long time after hearing so many good things about it, so this was the perfect opportunity. The café itself is bright, modern, and absolutely adorable. It has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it a great place to relax over dessert with family or friends. The menu is a dream for matcha and hojicha lovers. They offer an impressive variety of parfaits, floats, frappes, and lattes, with optional additions like mochi and red beans. It took us a while to decide because everything looked tempting. My daughter and I shared the Hojicha Mochi Parfait, while my son ordered the Hojicha Float with mochi. The parfait had a rich, authentic hojicha flavor and was generously layered with chewy mochi, crunchy cereal flakes, and creamy soft serve, giving it a wonderful mix of textures. The float was equally enjoyable, with a bold roasted hojicha flavor that wasn't overly sweet, and the mochi was a fun addition. The quality of the desserts was excellent, and while the prices are on the higher side, they reflect the quality of the ingredients and presentation. If you're a fan of matcha or hojicha, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

This is a sushi by the pound place in SLU, but they also have a menu with variety of things such as udon, inari, chirashi, etc. The selection of fish you can choose from in the weigh your sushi section is not that big. They only have 2 high premium fishes available: otoro and amberjack. However you can only get 1 of each, which to me defeats the purpose. I also got a bulgogi inari and it was $5 / piece which is pricey. Another thing is that they use a lot of rice, too much rice. Service is ok, they ring you up and bring the food to you if you ordered through the menu. It's a very relaxing and chill area as well. The food we got was just ok but for the price, it's not worth it. I'm glad I tried but most likely will not be back.
