Food : Food was amazing and delicious! 10/10. I got a Black Forest ham breakfast burrito and it was soooooo good. Also got the ribeye sandwich, also tasty! Went to check out EggBread on their opening day. I was brightly greeted by the yellow themed colors. The logo is a yellow eggyolk on a slice of bread and white font on yellow banner that says Craft Breakfast Sandwiches. This place in Long Beach off Ocean and Alamitos has outdoor seating with metal tables and chairs and indoor seating. There is some parking on the street depending on the time and day. Walking inside, I had a hard time choosing what I wanted because they have so many delicious, interesting, and crafted breakfasts from sandwiches, to burritos, to plates, and sides. I ordered the Fried chicken sandwich which egg, fried chicken, pickles and a side of sausage gravy for dipping. I also ordered some beer battered potatoes, and coffee. They have water you can serve yourself. After ordering, they gave me a beeper/buzzer so I would know when my food was ready. Enjoying the beautiful day outside was nice. Even better was enjoying the savory breakfast sandwiches. It was so good, savory, flavorful. I dipped my breakfast sandwich in the gravy, took a bite and felt the warm ooze of egg yolk run did my fingers, and did that smile while your chewing. I was loving this. The beer battered potatoes were also good, with some crispy texture on the outside, while hot and soft on the inside. Their coffee was also quite enjoyable. When i went to pick up my food, i did receive a gift card to use at another time and I do plan on going back. I definitely want to try their breakfast burritos. If they are anything like the flavor-packed fried chicken break sandwich, i know it will be good. I think they did a great job with their opening. I know there are hiccups on opening days, but they did a great job and I am very happy that we have a new breakfast establishment in Long Beach. Come out and support. Decided to give this place a shot Ordered a bacon egg and cheese. Took 40 mins with people getting their order ahead. They used the line of online orders making it backed up but we saw no one coming in and doing pick ups. The food was lukewarm and by the time i got my sandwich the cheese was like a gelatin consistency. Taste of the sandwich was mediocre. Never coming back again. Better places in Long Beach. read more

UPDATE: the signs on the table encourage reviews, after i left my review on yelp, the store manager read it OUT LOUD while i was still sitting in the restaurant. kind of weird. service - this is a new spot in long beach, we came in on a weekend trip to grab some brunch. they had no line. the cashier was texting on her phone while i was at the register, not that big of a deal but still off putting. My bf ordered a sandwich that came with avo crema and salsa, they we're out of salsa and he can't have dairy, so he asked if he could sub normal avo instead. she refused and charged him almost 3 dollars. i feel like it should have been discounted due to their lack of salsa. food - My bf ordered the california burrito and i got soft scrambled eggs . i kind of expected the eggs to be really good since this is an egg place, but they tasted like buffet eggs. the burrito was good but was a little small for 17 bucks ambiance - the restaurant was clean, with trendy decor and lots of seating. looked very cute! read more

Yessss, EggBred Long Beach has finally opened! With so many awesome options on the menu, I decided that I just need to start somewhere and can eventually work my way through the menu throughout time. This visit, I ordered the Plain Jane breakfast burrito, and it was awesome!! From their website, the Plain Jane burrito has: "Soft scrambled eggs, beer battered potatoes, cheddar jack cheese, and smoked paprika spread, served with fresh salsa verde." I found the ratio between all the ingredients was perfect. The eggs and potatoes were deliciously seasoned, and the smoked paprika spread brought the whole burrito together. First time trying EggBred I ordered the BEC and a side of potatoes. The bread was, as promised, quite good. A nice pillowy bun to cradle the breakfast selection. There was also a good amount of bacon on the sandwich. The potatoes were well seasoned, although I feel like the serving size is a little small. Unfortunately all of the food was lukewarm. The potatoes, though crisp on the outside, had obviously been sitting under the warmer for a while. On the sandwich the cheese was only slightly melted (a particular pet peeve of mine, maybe you don't care). Overall, it was a decent breakfast but not something I'll have cravings for. read more

OMG sooo delish. Our second time here. First was when they newly opened. Great variety of options on the menu. A couple of things can be made vegan you'll have to see the menu or ask. The have sandwiches, burritos and bowls as well as a couple of salads but don't go for a salad This last time we went was pride weekend and they did a phenomenal job getting people through the line. The cashier (tiny Asian girl-gotta giver her props) and kitchen crew handled all that came their way with gratitude and poise. May favorites are the bowls I've tried 2 different ones the chorizo hash and a country chicken style one. My son loved the burrito with asada and said the steak was very flavorful. Shout out to Goldie the manager for having such an amazing team support her. It's a very simple atmosphere with severa al tables inside and a few outside. What a great new addition to LB! I love breakfast food and eggs and this place was just perfect. It's located on the corner on a main street so parking is a little difficult. Walking in I felt very underwhelmed with the ambiance and decor. It gives uncomfortable industrial and I think they could have went with a different vibe that was more welcoming. However the food was absolutely amazing with fast service. The menu was large I was really stuck between 5 items. I originally came in for the eggslut dupe breakfast sandwich but ended up choosing the Benny on the rocks. Eggs Benedict is my favorite and this dish was absolutely perfect and what I've always wanted!! No English muffin just the Benny on potatoes! It was amazing and would definitely come back! read more

Cashier was friendly. Ordered asada burrito and scramble me softly sandwich. Burrito meat was too salty where it becomes hard to enjoy after a while, but everything else in it was good. Scrambled me softly sandwich was very mid and was missing the caramelized onions. Food came out quickly, but both entrees were mid overall. The beer battered potatoes came out warm. This place was more delicious then I could imagine. On my end the only thing I regret was not adding bacon to my sandwich.-- but don't get me wrong that would have just been an A plus, plus! Really disappointed. Came in for lunch with only two other people in the store. Ordered six items off the menu and waited over 40 minutes with no one in front of us. When the food came, we only received five of our orders. Counter service said they "filled our order" so something was lost in translation. Food was okay but it seemed like the staffs first day because they all seemed confused and took their time with everything. I wish we had had a better experience. read more

Ever since EggBred opened my partner and I have been wanting to try it out as everything looks delicious and the branding looks on point, however looks were very much deceiving. I walked in and placed an order as for whatever reason, it said most items were not available when attempting to order online for pickup. It was fine either way as I was in the area and was going to stop by to grab and go. I was rang up fairly quick and there weren't many folks there, so I thought it would be a fairly quick turn around. I ordered for my partner the ribeye asada burrito, the Ben Franklin for me and the mixed berry cheesecake waffle. Was told that they were out of the salsa verde for the burrito, but they would provide the red, which was fine and was then handed my beeper and I sat to wait. About 30 minutes later was handed my food, which I found took longer than it should have being almost no one in there and about what sounded like 3-4 people working, still willing to overlook long cook times if everything was good. Got back to my place, which was about a five minute walk and started to tear in and well very let down. My sandwich itself had a lot of arugula, minimal hollandaise and the egg was definitely not medium, it was very over hard and was expecting a bit of yolk. With the lack of sauce, the sandwich was very dry. My partners burrito, she cut in half and the half she ate at that time, had no carne asada in and when she finished the rest this morning, the side that had a minimal amount of meat had all gristle and was not appetizing. The waffle was the only thing palatable, however it was just fine and nothing to write home about. I would make an attempt to get a refund, as it wasn't cheap (around 50+) and if I spend that much on breakfast, I would have expectations to have it be amazing or a lot of food and sadly it was neither and going through the refund process would be lengthy enough to just learn my lesson. It has a lot of potential as the location is convenient and the interior isn't terrible, but I would be going for food and not to hang out. There are other options, some just a block away, that are definitely better that should be checked out. I hope they will change it up and step up the standards and speed. read more

Super nice and beautiful spot by the ocean. I found street parking by the apartment complex. I came around 11 am and it was not too crowded. The space was beautiful. The staff were super nice. I got several entrees and all were good. I also got a nice cup of coffee that was warm. I love this spot for lunch and breakfast. read more

My first ever Yelp review... I occasionally go to the Egg Bred in Huntington Beach and it's always delicious. I went to this location this morning, ordered the same thing I usually order along with 2 burritos for my family. It was completely inedible. The potatoes were mush, the ribeye was tough as leather and uncut-when you bit the burrito the whole piece of meat came out. We all threw our food away and when you are paying $20/ burrito, it's extremely disappointing. I will not be back. read more

Ordered three things in-store. They were out of all of the juices and seemed to not care. The cold brew i ordered did not taste good. They ran out of sausage too. It took 25 minutes for them to complete the in-store order. The food quality was not worth the wait. While we waited we placed an online order for an estimated pickup at 12:17. It was not ready until 12:40. Yhis was happening to all customers. When we asked the employee she just said " yeah, the owner can adjust the wait times through the app" but clearly that wasnt happening. My wife and I ordered one single burrito, scheduled for 10:58am for pick up so we can leave for a scheduled appointment. We waited for 20mins and management could not give us an answer on when it will be done. Not even a refund. How hard is it to make eggs and bacon? And not have an ETA? Came in today excited to try Eggbred again for their grand reopening. The place looks great--the decor has definitely been upgraded and feels a lot nicer. Food was good and noticeably more fresh than before, which was a big improvement. Unfortunately, the service still isn't great. They kept the same cashier from my last visit, and I had a bad experience with her before. When I walked in and we made eye contact, she clearly recognized me but didn't even smile or acknowledge me. It took 20 minutes for one sandwich! There was only 3 other people in the restaurant, why does it take so long? Also the male cook with the glasses touched his phone with his gloves that he was making food with, and then went right back to making food. He didn't change them until I said something. Wanted to a find a quick breakfast place on ocean after a meeting a friend for a walk on the bridge. We saw this was within the area and like that it was a simple menu. We circled once for parking and then found a spot. We ordered at the register and then found a seat. We got the scramble me softly and the beer battered potatoes, along with fresh squeezed orange juice. We just wanted something light so shared everything. We didn't have too wait too long and our order came out fresh. They have this green sauce at the condiment section, along with all the hot sauce packet choices. The bread was nice and soft and cuddled the softly scrambled egg. It was delicious and paired great with the crispy potatoes. There wasn't a lot of batter which was nice so you could actually taste the potatoes and seasoning. The orange juice was also freshly squeezed to wash everything down. The breakfast burrito with chorizo was so dang good. It was mouth watering and also really filling. Chill, welcoming, and perfect for a laid-back bite. I really love the ambiance and the location of the store being a Long Beach native. My only con was the green salsa it tasted a little too earthy and sour. I must say I was disappointed with the food portions. I came here because I saw a tic tok " the best breakfast burritos" the video showed some huge burritos. I got the bacon burrito I was tiny, they it hardly had any egg, just about two bacon strips small, but a lot of potato's. Slowest service I've ever experienced. Waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for just two people. There were around 7 other tables that were waiting as well. At least 3 of us cancelled and they even had a log full of orders and phone numbers of people who wanted to cancel for a refund. You guys should hire more people for the kitchen so this doesn't happen. We were told there were 2 orders ahead of us and we still waited 20 more minutes until we just cancelled. Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

I left hungry and sadly disappointed.

So I'm doing another review I had posted one a couple weeks ago and gave a bad rating on this place but now my expectations have changed quite a bit. I went back because I was promised a free meal on my next visit and thankfully they granted me that request. I ordered the Fried Chicken Burrito which is my go to burrito all the time. I used to say that the burrito was very underwhelming and was always skinny. This time though it is was the opposite. The chicken had good seasoning it was fired pretty good, the potatoes had a nice crunch to them and were soft inside when you ate it, the eggs were fluffy and all around it was pretty good. Now of course that was just one time they did this burrito right hopefully they keep the consistency going cause there's been lots of time where I was disappointed but this time I will say it was worth it. read more

The eggs were cooked well, and everything came together nicely in the sandwich. I also tried the scrambled egg sandwich, and I would recommend that as well. Both sandwiches are worth ordering if you are looking for something simple but flavorful. I did get the potato wedges on the side, but they were not really for me. The flavor just did not hit the mark, and I would probably skip those next time. Overall, EggBred does a great job with their egg sandwiches. We ordered the Country Fried Chicken sandwich, Ribeye Burrito, and the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, and as a self proclaimed foodie I can honestly say that each dish was super flavorful and cooked to perfection! The customer service was excellent as well; the staff was friendly and attentive, making our experience even more enjoyable. I'm also a huge coffee drinker, and I was pleasantly surprised by their drip coffee. WOOOOOAH!!!!! Is it possible to give more stars? We got their burritos, they're HUGE! Next time we plan to order one and split it. The food is unbelievable!!
