This was my second time here at Eggbred. The first time I came I got thru breakfast bacon burrito and it was AMAZING! my husband and I were excited to come back and decided to ride our bikes since last time we had to park in a loading area. My husband got what he ordered before which was the fried chicken egg sandwich. He had no complaints-same as previously ordered. I decided to get their sausage breakfast burrito to try something new, my tortilla was cold with no brown markings like they show on their IG videos. Not sure if that was something I had to ask for while ordering but since I never asked for it on my bacon burrito i expected the same. Another thing is my bacon burrito you would taste the bacon in every bite. My burrito today was mostly egg and cheese and potato's. I had to dig for the sausage. The guy at the front was amazing though- I regret not getting his name to give him the praise he deserves. I did leave a tip but idk just so disappointed in my second visit when our first visit was exceptional read more

Been wanting to try this spot for a while--it's tucked away on a corner in DTLB! Came on a early weekday morning so I was lucky to find some parking in the neighborhood but just know it can be difficult to find street parking here, the building is sort of attached to hotel/apartments. It was pretty busy inside, so you know it's popular--decor and seating were pretty cute. Service was really friendly and prompt! EggBred has one of those menus where everything absolutely looks and sounds delicious. I got the Smothered Yard Pimp burrito. It was certainly massive (partially because it's not as "tightly wrapped" as you would expect, making it a bit looser and larger) and it's (literally and) culinarily heavy. On the flip side of everything sounding super delicious, that means a lot of the ingredients make the dish sort of "impossible" to taste bad. Surprisingly, it didn't feel overly greasy given the ingredients on this one--which is impressive in itself. But, the flavor and texture combinations on this burrito sort of all blend into each other, so I wouldn't personally get this again. The gravy also felt like it had all been placed mostly on certain parts of the burrito. Perhaps if the ingredients "melded" together more before they get placed in the burrito, it would work better. The potatoes overall were not that crispy, so there wasn't quite enough textural variation in the burrito. The green salsa verde that's included is pretty tasty. I did eat it to-go 15 minutes later, but I don't think that'd really make it taste that much worse. Given the burrito was loose, it got slightly messy to eat sometimes given the gravy. It reminds me of this time where I bought a burrito to eat in the car for lunch, and had a date later. Unfortunately, that burrito was also messy, and a couple pieces of food fell onto the bottom of my shirt, leaving a stain that I couldn't really get out and I didn't have time to change after work. Later that night, my date asked me why I had a stain at the bottom of my shirt. I told her it was from a burrito at lunch. She didn't believe me, and told me she doesn't date guys who eat burritos in their car. Bummer! But it was worth it, the burrito was good. Anyways, I'd consider coming back to try something a bit simpler on the menu for sure! But maybe next time I'll try it fresh. Glad we have a spot like this in LB. read more

EggBred - (no item for scale, but HUGE smothered fried chicken burrito) - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Long Beach, California

I came here to grab breakfast before heading to the aquarium with no expectations, since I've never heard of this place. It was my friends who wanted to try this spot, assuming they saw it on social media. I did read a few unhappy customer reviews on here while I was looking through their menu to see what to order, but didn't think much of it. When we arrived, it was pretty empty, probably because it was still early in the morning. We ordered 3 burritos (1 Plain Jane at $9.99 and 2 Ribeye Asada at $17.49 each). The total with tax was ~$50. Okay, so for the price paid, I was expecting something more than what it turned out to be. The burrito felt heavy, so I thought it would be filled with goodness, but after a few bites I realized the weight was coming from all the potatoes they put into the burritos. The other thing I thought was strange was that they you give you 1 small container of their sauce. I ate half of my burrito without the sauce, it was pretty dry and salty. The potatoes claim to be beer battered, but tasted like soggy potato wedges. No crisp at all. Dry and salty. I forgot this place was called "EGG" bred since eggs were pretty much non-existent. I joked that this place should re-name to PotatoBred. Also, given the store "believes people deserve something better: quality ingredients, made from scratch, freshly cooked, handcrafted, consistent, and served with a smile!" (Copy and pasted from their website) --- this is not what we experienced from the food down to the service. I am bummed to write this review, as I was hoping the other poor reviews were just one-offs. Neither myself or my friends will be back. read more

I came this morning to try to get a quick meal before doing a beach clean up for earth day. It was not a quick stop. I waited 45Mins+ for my food. There was only one person in front of me and I got my food before them. While waiting there were others so came after and while walking out made a comment of how long I waited and that this is their 2nd time coming and the wait has always been long so it seems like a common occurrence. I got the ribeye asada. Asked for the burrito to be cut in half, they did not. Asked for two salsas, got one. The burrito itself was tasty though. I also got a biscuit and gravy also but did not like it. Biscuit was hard/dry. The gravy also didn't have sausage gravy flavor. It was more orange and didn't not have much flavor which was needed to help with the dry biscuit. However the customer service was great. Devon helped give some recommendations and was very friendly. He had left to hand out samples. This however left the counter unattended as others came in. It took awhile for someone in the back to come out to greet customers. read more

We were in town for a wedding and saw this place on Yelp. We decided to give it a try! Due to heading out of Long beach, we ordered ahead and were going to swing by to pick it up. There is little to no parking around the restaurant so I'm glad that we had placed a pick up order! The sandwiches that we got were really good! The bread was light and fluffy and the flavors were really good. I would return! read more

Full disclosure, I do NOT eat eggs. It's never been my thing and I'm usually a little nauseous if I'm around it for too long. So I'm sure people are wondering why I would ever go to a place called EggBred? Valid question. It's primarily because my wife was itching to try this place. My review will come from their non eggy foods (if that's helpful for anyone). I had the beer battered potatoes and the mixed berry waffle. And let me say WOW! The beer battered potatoes were good, you get to eat potato wedges as often as before (ever since KFC stopped serving them) so it was a nice treat to have. But the waffle... oh boy. It was just so flavorful. The waffle was cooked perfectly so it was crispy and not too soft and wasn't burnt. The berries and glaze was the perfect sweetness. It definite joy to eat! From a non-eggy eating person, they have a couple options that can sure delight! read more

I placed an online order and received an email saying it was ready for pickup. I arrived about 10 minutes after the pickup time but was told my order still wasn't ready because there were two orders ahead of mine. No problem--I understood they were busy. After waiting another 30 minutes, I had to leave and asked to cancel my order. They initially voided the wrong order, and when I asked for a receipt, the cashier became rude. He told me that if I wanted my order on time, I should order before 10 a.m. I told him I simply wouldn't be ordering there again. His response was, "I don't care. We don't need your business because we're full." Delays happen, but rude customer service is unacceptable. I won't be back. read more

We have now been twice to Eggbred and we always leave craving those potato wedges! We have had the sausage egg and cheese and the fried chicken with egg sammy. Note: it comes with a cup of sausage gravy! So good. It does fill up fast inside as it only has like 10 tables but tables turn fast. We usually get there between 9-10a before the weekend rush. The one negative is they get a lot of to-go orders and people will just sit at a 4-top while waiting. In the middle of the path of travel If you haven't been, definitely check it out! And don't skip the potato wedges to share. read more

I can understand that take out should be in plastic containers or cardboard boxes but when you are sitting in the restaurant, it's hard to eat a hot meal in plastic containers. The breakfast was also cold. The person at the register was very, very nice. read more

I waited more than 30 minutes for two breakfast burritos, and I'm extremely disappointed. That's just not an acceptable wait time for such a simple order. I understand that things can get busy, but better staffing and more efficient food prep would really help customers get served in a timely manner. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet my expectations, and I don't plan on coming back. I hope management reviews the process to improve the customer experience. read more

This is a big place with a lively open kitchen n people dining and hanging around while some just eat and go or are grabbing their orders to go. The food is the bomb huge burritos and great fresh juices. And don't just see the potatoes on the menu as a little potato they're really seasoned and delicious and grab yourself some new assortment of hot sauce like Cholula at the counter to dip in your ketchup that you have to request from over-the-counter. I totally worth it fine and really friendly employees and delicious food ! read more

A Delicious First Visit to Egg Bred! I just love trying out new places--especially when both the food and service are exceptional. That was exactly my experience at Egg Bred in Long Beach! Since it was my first time, I wanted to try everything, but I settled on the chicken and scrambled egg breakfast sandwich. Let me just say--wow. The eggs were scrambled perfectly fluffy, and the fried chicken breast was tender and crispy, tucked between two soft buns. It was seriously delicious. They serve the gravy on the side, which is a nice touch--but honestly, I didn't even need it. A little hot sauce on that sandwich, and it absolutely made my morning. To top it off, I tried their rhost cold brew, which was both aromatic and strong--just the caffeine boost I needed. Overall, a great first-time dining experience. I'll definitely be back to try more! read more

The first time I ordered from here, I thought it was tasty. In fact, I still think the food is tasty BUT I just received my second order albeit via Uber Eats however, the order was not fulfilled properly. I ordered the Country Fried Chicken Sandwich and there was no sandwich in my bag at all. I also ordered the Chorizo Chili Cheese Hash that is to come with a poached egg and there was no egg on the hash. I asked for sauce on the side and the hash was swimming in sauce. I reviewed both the order details via Uber Eats and the paper receipt stapled to my to go order bag and the instructions are clear. read more

Morning locals: Gave one star due to having to put a star but they should get zero stars! Wanted a breakfast sandwich this morning with friends, but got cold seared raw burgers instead. Waited 56mins for underwhelming food that left me not completing my meal and wasting money. Really bummed out about my last couple of visits as this was my go to burrito that I would crave. When this place first opened it was BOMB.... One of those breakfast burros bacon & potatoes were crispy and that paprika spreaddddd was something special! The last 3 times they failed to hit the mark - either forgetting something I ordered, bacon super fatty and limp and this time I'm just grossed out. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito with the bacon well done xtra crispy... what I got was a COLD burrito, cheese was still shredded not even melted, super limp mostly fat bacon - def not well done & the bottom of the burrito was full of oil. read more

I had high hopes for Eggbred in Long Beach since I'm a big breakfast sandwich fan and have tried many spots across LA. Unfortunately, I left pretty disappointed. My order came to $18.20 for a sandwich and a side of crispy potatoes. While that price isn't shocking in LA, especially with today's egg costs, I was willing to give it a shot. The problem was the portion size. When I opened the bag and saw the sandwich, I couldn't believe how small it was. It felt more like a slider than a full meal, almost a child's portion. For nearly $20, I expected something more substantial. Flavor-wise, the sandwich was fine and the service was reasonably quick, but the value just isn't there. At the end of the day, paying that much for a tiny sandwich with egg, bacon, bread, and potatoes doesn't make sense. Shrinkflation feels real here, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I'm so happy I got to try! I've walked by the wall for so long I got the bacon egg cheese .... The bread was so soft and so good. I got scrambled eggs and they were perfectly fluffy. The bacon was perfect. The only thing that I'm not sure if I liked or didn't like, but I think I'm leaning towards liking it was the jalapeño ketchup. I normally don't put anything on my breakfast sandwiches. But it was decent. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich with country gravy and was obsessed. I took a bite and the breading was perfectly crispy and wonderfully flavored. The blood orange juice was OK. My friend got it and really liked it. For me, I wish it was a little more tart and tasting as if it was freshly squeezed. I'm excited to go back I'm glad I got the walk there because I don't know where anybody supposed to park. Ordered a ribeye breakfast burrito. I have realistic expectations when it comes to the amount of meat. Literally only one small piece probably the size of a dime, the rest was potato, eggs, and cheese. Maybe the lack of cooked meat is the reason why my order took 25 minutes to make? I'll probably pass a long to other residents near by to avoid this place because they're most likely to rip off the customer. read more

Came around 9:20am, not too busy, placed our order by 9:30am. Place started getting busy, but they were taking orders faster than they were delivering them. Everyone around us was noticeably irritated that it was taking extra long. Then our food gets brought to us and we are told that they didn't have waffles. Wtf? Y'all have been open since 7am and couldn't inform the front to not take waffle orders? So we asked for a refund and they were able to accommodate. But instead of being able to eat the food there, we had to leave because my kid had nothing to eat, she just wanted waffles and we weren't going to eat the food in front of her when she had nothing. We finally get home and omg our burritos were burnt and so was the meat was extra crispy. Is that why our food took hella long? They were burning it!!!! On top of that we ordered one ribeye asada and one Cali ribeye burrito, we ended up getting two Cali ribeyes. I had high hopes for this place and was extremely disappointed. Set your expectations really low. The AC is loud. There's no ambient music playing. Was in the mood for a breakfast sandwich and decided to try EggBred since it's relatively new. It has a nice casual dining feel inside and seats to eat outside as well. The person taking the order was nice and gave suggestions since it was my first time there. I will say I was expecting a bit more out of the sandwich. It wasn't bad it just wasn't that good. I also expected the ratio of egg and meat to be more equivalent to the bun but the bun overpowered the whole sandwich. I should've gotten the burrito. Coffee was regular drip coffee, decent. Overpriced for what I got in my opinion. The beer battered potatoes were the best thing. read more

Meh . I usually eat at Eggslut when visiting the LA area. This time I decided to try Eggbred. The bun was burned (not toasted), and the burned flavor permeated the entire sandwich. It wasn't until the final bite that I actually tasted the jalapeño ketchup. I'm not sure if it was overpowered by the burned flavor, or if there was barely any on the sandwich. Just go to Eggslut. EggBred - BACON EGG & CHEESE* - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Long Beach, California

Located at the first floor of a high rise apartment building. Looks modern and trendy and instagrams ready. Price-wise is relatively acceptable with the most affordable option under $10. The star deducted for the taste. There is not much flavor except for the black pepper in the egg. Also the cheese didn't melt though the bun is cooked well. It is probably not due to the temperature but more of a quality issue of the cheese. There is no cheese flavor but tastes very very bland, not like cheese at all. Overall, if they could fix the cheese issue, I might be coming back. read more

Simple, delicious, and gets the job done. Over the weekend I stayed in Long Beach near the convention center. Upon my arrival I wanted to find a place to have a quick bite. Looking on Yelp I found EggBred. They were open pretty early and from what I saw the menu looked to fit perfectly in what I was looking for. EggBred did resemble another popular breakfast egg sandwich place and I had to give them a try during my visit. At the time I didn't want anything too crazy or heavy. My choice was the egg bacon cheddar sandwich and as mentioned earlier in my opening line, it was simple, delicious and got the job done. So I absolutely love eggs and these kinds of places are exactly what I think this world needs more of to achieve world peace. The service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was great, place is very clean. The food was pretty good and it came out reasonably fast. However, the two things I ordered - the fried chicken sandwich and breakfast burrito - felt like normal fast food orders. The fried chicken was really good, but I was looking for more egg from an egg-brand restaurant. Instead I found myself eating a normal chicken sandwich with an egg on it. You may argue that if I wanted it to be mostly egg then I could've ordered a benedict, and you would be right. I'll probably return and order that next. That said, I was a little disappointed with the food. They do give you a properly cooked sunny side up egg, but it did very little for me for what I ordered. That said, the food was still pretty good, just was expecting more, and perhaps being a breakfast fanatic raised my expectations too high this time. read more
