We were in town for a wedding and saw this place on Yelp. We decided to give it a try! Due to heading out of Long beach, we ordered ahead and were going to swing by to pick it up. There is little to no parking around the restaurant so I'm glad that we had placed a pick up order! The sandwiches that we got were really good! Full disclosure, I do NOT eat eggs. It's never been my thing and I'm usually a little nauseous if I'm around it for too long. So I'm sure people are wondering why I would ever go to a place called EggBred? Valid question. It's primarily because my wife was itching to try this place. My review will come from their non eggy foods (if that's helpful for anyone). I had the beer battered potatoes and the mixed berry waffle. And let me say WOW! The beer battered potatoes were good, you get to eat potato wedges as often as before (ever since KFC stopped serving them) so it was a nice treat to have. But the waffle... oh boy. It was just so flavorful. The waffle was cooked perfectly so it was crispy and not too soft and wasn't burnt. The berries and glaze was the perfect sweetness. It definite joy to eat! We have now been twice to Eggbred and we always leave craving those potato wedges! We have had the sausage egg and cheese and the fried chicken with egg sammy. Note: it comes with a cup of sausage gravy! So good. It does fill up fast inside as it only has like 10 tables but tables turn fast. We usually get there between 9-10a before the weekend rush. The one negative is they get a lot of to-go orders and people will just sit at a 4-top while waiting. In the middle of the path of travel If you haven't been, definitely check it out! Really bummed out about my last couple of visits as this was my go to burrito that I would crave. When this place first opened it was BOMB.... One of those breakfast burros bacon & potatoes were crispy and that paprika spreaddddd was something special! The last 3 times they failed to hit the mark - either forgetting something I ordered, bacon super fatty and limp and this time I'm just grossed out. Located at the first floor of a high rise apartment building. Looks modern and trendy and instagrams ready. Price-wise is relatively acceptable with the most affordable option under $10. The star deducted for the taste. There is not much flavor except for the black pepper in the egg. Also the cheese didn't melt though the bun is cooked well. It is probably not due to the temperature but more of a quality issue of the cheese. There is no cheese flavor but tastes very very bland, not like cheese at all. This is a big place with a lively open kitchen n people dining and hanging around while some just eat and go or are grabbing their orders to go. The food is the bomb huge burritos and great fresh juices. And don't just see the potatoes on the menu as a little potato they're really seasoned and delicious and grab yourself some new assortment of hot sauce like Cholula at the counter to dip in your ketchup that you have to request from over-the-counter. A Delicious First Visit to Egg Bred! I just love trying out new places--especially when both the food and service are exceptional. That was exactly my experience at Egg Bred in Long Beach! Since it was my first time, I wanted to try everything, but I settled on the chicken and scrambled egg breakfast sandwich. Let me just say--wow. The eggs were scrambled perfectly fluffy, and the fried chicken breast was tender and crispy, tucked between two soft buns. It was seriously delicious. They serve the gravy on the side, which is a nice touch--but honestly, I didn't even need it. A little hot sauce on that sandwich, and it absolutely made my morning. To top it off, I tried their rhost cold brew, which was both aromatic and strong--just the caffeine boost I needed. Overall, a great first-time dining experience. I gave them 15. When I went back I was told 20 min. I'm back AGAIN, now I'm told it's coming up! I ordered 1 thing! Forget ambience people are upset due to waiting so long 57 MIN LATER . I had high hopes for Eggbred in Long Beach since I'm a big breakfast sandwich fan and have tried many spots across LA. Unfortunately, I left pretty disappointed. My order came to $18.20 for a sandwich and a side of crispy potatoes. While that price isn't shocking in LA, especially with today's egg costs, I was willing to give it a shot. The problem was the portion size. When I opened the bag and saw the sandwich, I couldn't believe how small it was. It felt more like a slider than a full meal, almost a child's portion. For nearly $20, I expected something more substantial. Flavor-wise, the sandwich was fine and the service was reasonably quick, but the value just isn't there. At the end of the day, paying that much for a tiny sandwich with egg, bacon, bread, and potatoes doesn't make sense. I'm so happy I got to try! I've walked by the wall for so long I got the bacon egg cheese .... The bread was so soft and so good. I got scrambled eggs and they were perfectly fluffy. The bacon was perfect. The only thing that I'm not sure if I liked or didn't like, but I think I'm leaning towards liking it was the jalapeño ketchup. I normally don't put anything on my breakfast sandwiches. But it was decent. My friend got the fried chicken sandwich with country gravy and was obsessed. I took a bite and the breading was perfectly crispy and wonderfully flavored. The blood orange juice was OK. My friend got it and really liked it. Was in the mood for a breakfast sandwich and decided to try EggBred since it's relatively new. It has a nice casual dining feel inside and seats to eat outside as well. The person taking the order was nice and gave suggestions since it was my first time there. I will say I was expecting a bit more out of the sandwich. It wasn't bad it just wasn't that good. I also expected the ratio of egg and meat to be more equivalent to the bun but the bun overpowered the whole sandwich. I should've gotten the burrito. Coffee was regular drip coffee, decent. I officially give up on Egg Bred Long Beach. I order the same thing every time (Nashville Hottie and beer battered potatoes). No special requests. Want it exactly as it's advertised. When this sandwich is made properly, it's great. Especially the combination of the spice of the chicken and the pickles. It can be so good. Unfortunately more than half the time (including today) they get it wrong. Today they left off the pickles and added an egg. Not the same sandwich at all. And definitely not what I ordered or was hungry for. I realize these are young kids just starting out that work there, but if they can't make one of their signature items, there is obviously a lack of training or supervision or both. i came here on a sunday at 12pm -- peak brunch time, so maybe that was my first mistake. i was in no rush so was happy to wait for my order but i waited over an hour for one sandwhich and potatoes... this place has good food but whoever is in charge needs to make some changes and figure out what they are doing respectfully. I felt terrible for the employees watching as they were bombarded with angry customers who were all waiting just as long if not longer than me for their orders. The employees were certainly trying their past and so i felt no anger towards any of them but it was clear they were understaffed on what i know to be one of the busiest days/times of business for a restaurant that serves breakfast. when i finally received my order it was only because i finally went to the counter after the restaurant had cleared and asked about it. They stated they no longer had my order on the KDS, or the paper ticket so it was clear they had lost it, and i assume that is what happened with others' orders as well. this place has potential but someone needs to step up and manage the space efficiently read more

Looking on Yelp I found EggBred. They were open pretty early and from what I saw the menu looked to fit perfectly in what I was looking for. EggBred did resemble another popular breakfast egg sandwich place and I had to give them a try during my visit. At the time I didn't want anything too crazy or heavy. My choice was the egg bacon cheddar sandwich and as mentioned earlier in my opening line, it was simple, delicious and got the job done. Wanted to try this place out while visiting family in Long Beach. We ordered online at 11:11am on 5/25 and waited at the restaurant. There were a lot of people sitting around waiting for their order, so we knew it would be a little bit of a wait. We went to follow up on our order after waiting for 40 mins and found out that they didn't have a part of our order in stock. They asked if we wanted something else but we opted for a refund for the missing items since we can't wait any longer. We were told by the person who was at the register that they couldn't process a refund at the moment and that they will have the manager process it later. It's been 4 days now and the restaurant still hasn't refunded the funds back to my account. Another thing I want to point out is the cleanliness of the bathroom. It was dirty and didn't have any hand soap. We saw the cook walk out of the bathroom and back to work right after. Makes one wonder if he washed his hands before heading back to cook. read more

However, the two things I ordered - the fried chicken sandwich and breakfast burrito - felt like normal fast food orders. The fried chicken was really good, but I was looking for more egg from an egg-brand restaurant. Instead I found myself eating a normal chicken sandwich with an egg on it. You may argue that if I wanted it to be mostly egg then I could've ordered a benedict, and you would be right. I'll probably return and order that next. That said, I was a little disappointed with the food. They do give you a properly cooked sunny side up egg, but it did very little for me for what I ordered. I've been following EggBred on IG for a long time but could never make it out to their La Habra location during breakfast hours. So when they announced that they were opening shop in my home city, I was elated. Today I treated myself and went for the mouthwatering Scramble Me Softly (added sausage) and a blood orange juice. The eggs were perfectly soft scrambled - Gordon Ramsay would approve. The milk bread was soft and slightly toasted. Sausage was flavorful. Throw on some melty cheese and caramelized onions, and you have a perfect breakfast sammy. What was the real surprise? The salsa verde! Perfect kick of spice with balanced acidity. Who needs the other brands (yes, they have packets of the usual suspects) when you have the scratch made stuff that is so much better? The only downside is parking, but it's worth circling around to find a spot. They also were doing lots of take out orders and use Toast Tab, so you can always grab and go. I haven't even eaten my burrito yet but i waited easily over an hour close to 90 minutes for my order. They were clearly short staffed which i was understanding of but the lack of clear communication falls on the management. The staff did what they could so I dont fault them but when systems aren't running properly that falls solely on whoever is in charge. There should have been someone communicating why things were slow/ delayed. Accompanied by a grapefruit juice and apple juice, these meals were super filling! The first time I tried EggBred was at the location in Huntington Beach and I was I left beyond satisfied. I got the sausage burrito, and oh my God, it was so good! The burrito is huge definitely big enough for two people to share. It made up for my previous visit when I wasn't a fan of the Scramble Me Soft sandwich. I can't wait to come back and try more burritos! Today's service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean.
