Wait......I'm writing a review about Denny's?????? Yes, I am. Came here for breakfast this weekend, probably the 1st time I've eaten at Denny's in well over 10 years. Being that my GF and I are breakfast people - we thought we'd give it a try. We both ordered the Ultimate Skillet......and both were wowed! They're comprised of fresh vegetables, red-skinned potatoes, sausage, cheese, etc. Everything (including the eggs) was cooked to perfection! Absolutely delicious! What can I say but very average. The coffee, the food, the service, the price is all what you would expect from a all night diner. The one thing that stands out at the Arcadia Denny's is the ice cream. They have WAY better ice cream than any other Denny's I've eaten at. I just had dinner with my boyfriend and everything seemed to go pretty good. They have very nice and friendly service. However, I ordered a simple breakfast option that included: pancakes,eggs and bacon I asked for chocolate chips to be added and the server forgot which I thought was okay because it happens Now the real thing that shocked me and could not believe is that , when I got my pancakes they tasted like a cleaning chemical...I was thinking mayb I'm wrong so I kept eating them but I had my boyfriend try them and he confirmed to me that they do taste like some cleaning chemical. I would best describe the taste of Clorox As we went to pay I left a note saying that the pancakes tasted like Clorox and left no tip. My tip to any future customers is to be aware that what u think u are tasting may be infact true even if it sounds hard to believe. read more

This has to be the worst customer service I have experience since I placed the breakfast order on June 25 2020 from their online ordering system and application . I never received my food and I contacted the restaurant to complaint several times. Spoke with general manager and another employee several times and also contacted the corporate office for Denny's twice to get a refund on my order. As of today 8/6/2020 I have not received a refund or call from corporate or the general manager and still have not received a refund for a small order of 28.38 , this is very bad customer service and I won't be ordering again from them. They have lost my business and I will never go back. I want to make sure everyone is aware how bad the customer service is at this restaurant ! read more

This is a sit down restaurant, I don't recommend coming here if you're super hungry because you may have to wait for your table, and even then you'll have to wait for the menu or server to come take your order, and then you'll have to wait even more for the food to arrive... all at once! The food here ranges from mediocre to superior. My favorite is their slow cooked Pot Roast. Only had a problem once when it started to smell when it cooled down, the meat was probably too old. The sides are great I like to try all of them from corn, to whole grain rice, to broccoli and mashed potatoes. Their breakfast is wonderful they do a quick and good job on that, well the bacon can get a little crisp but I guess I didn't say no crisp. Everything is customizable so you must tell them what you want. No cheese? No salt? Caramelized? Don't get bashful or ignorant. And every time our server has been friendly to us, I like that about Denny's. Anyways, this is a great place to hang with your friends or family and you don't wanna break the bank and have all the time in the world. This particular location has plenty of parking, so much that it literally stretches to the Main Post Office Branch behind on Wheeler ave. I just left. I am visiting my sister in law in the hospital near by and came here to get some good food to eat cause we were starving. The place was not that crowded but waited about 15 minutes to be seated. There was 5 of us and they tried to put us in a booth with chair added and one side of the booths was covered in chocolate. They moved us to a bigger table and we ordered and it took about 30 minutes to get our food. I only go to Denny's every so often and spend under 25 dollars for two people. The staff is usually so busy running back and forth i can not get their attention if i need anything. They also get the orders wrong such as onions when asked for none. However, what do you expect from a major chain. Overall this Denny's has a nice atmosphere and good seating. read more

They just had a party... sure cause I care about someone else's celebrations... the funny thing is that I saw many people behind the counter talking about... well I guess that's what they get paid for. This is by far the best Denny's around! For the most part every visit has been very pleasant. The service is good overall. I won't do a 5 star rating because they never provide napkins, and when I ask for some I only get 1 napkin for a group of 4. They also forget to offer high chairs (for baby) and I'm left searching for one my self. But food is always good! read more

One of the worst experiences I've had. Took an hour to get seated and another hour for our order to be taken. When we got our order, every order had something wrong with it.It was graduation night and was told there was not enough help scheduled, yet half the tables on either side of the building were empty. They lost lots of business because lots of people turned and walked out when they were told there was an hour to an hour and a half wait.We had a party of eight but were given four place settings had to ask three times for the other place settings. The people across from us had to get up and find somebody to take their order and when we finally left they still had no food. The staff wasnt the friendliest we kind of sensed an entitled attitude as if we were wrong for wanting even mediocore service. I will never go back to this restaurant. read more

I was very disappointed with my trip to Denny's. Chris was our waiter and it was the worst service ever. Every thing took FOREVER and it was 3 Cali club sandwiches and 2 kid cheeseburgers. And the portions were way smaller than normal ANDDD one of the sandwiches didn't have avocado. And our cups were empty for at least 5 minutes every time. All our trash and empty cups stayed on the table till we left!! Anytime he would bring us anything it took forever. AND IT CAME OUT TO $65 FOR HORRIBLE SERVICE AND NOT A LOT OF FOOD. I've always been a fan of Denny's and my experience here was no different. We were thrilled that they were open on a holiday, plus no wait. Our server Eliezer was really hardworking and made sure to check up on us several times during our meal. Clearly, it was a busy day but he was really on it! Just like any other Denny's, except I think the wait staff here is actually very friendly compared to other locations I've been to, especially late at night (I was here at about 1:30am). The food is the same as all other Denny's locations. There's a lot of parking in the lot. I do feel pretty unhealthy after eating here though. When you're drunk Denny's sounds and tastes delicious, but much like drinking a lot the night before, you feel like shit the next morning. Before tonight, I almost forgot that this is the place to be for after-drinking dining in the Arcadia area, until some dudes came in talking loudly in drunken speech. I've been to this Denny's countless times. Their food ranges from below average to decent. I mean, it's Denny's. Their main selling point is probably that they're open 24 hours. Service is like their food; it can range from below average to decent. Recently, I went here, and it was closed for maintenance. Horrible horrible horrible from the moment we walked in. It wasn't even busy. We had to double check that they were open. We waited at the front for about 8 min. There was no hostess and no one greeted us or sat us down. When I finally found someone she told me to just sit anywhere. She had a horrible attitude and looked pissed off. I asked for a high chair and it took forever to come. They brought menus probably 10 min after we were seated but no kids menus. Waited another 10 min before I had to go and ask for kids menus. We came in with 12 people. They seated us right away and that's it for the positive. I ordered the prime rib skillet and it was burnt. A cockroach was next to my husbands arm and my son killed it. There were only 2 checks. No brainer. It's taken half an hour to figure out the check. This place is not good. We can't be mad at our server because she was very apologetic and nice, but it was the manager's fault. He didn't even flinch when we told him about the cockroach. read more

I ordered a country fried steak which ended up tasting really good. Only problem was the pancakes and bacon my family ordered was definitely a miss. Tasted pretty bad. Service was also slow. One sever could not handle that many refills. read more

I had pretty low expectations going in, but they were still too high, apparently. I went in on a not-particularly-busy Tuesday night to find nobody at the hostess stand. No problem, hostesses get busy. I waited over five minutes before she came back and sat me at a table. Then I waited. Nobody came to greet me or even bring a water. For fifteen minutes I waited, even closed my menus and pushed them to the edge of the table, and tried to make eye contact with waiters who breezed right by my table multiple times. Still nothing. Finally I walked out, and went to the BJ's down the road, which had excellent service and was cheaper and higher quality than the food I saw on other tables at this Denny's. So my day started great, I decided to order take out by phone on my lunch this last Saturday. I ordered moons over my hammy, the lady who took my order stated it will be 20 mins till ready OK great! I gave it 15 minutes before I left to pick up (across the street). when I arrived to Denny's the hostess went to check the status on my order. meanwhile another lady came out front and said "have you been helped?" I stated, yes I ordered take out. she said "Oh I took your order". well it appears that my order was not put into the system the manager came out and said "it looks as though we did not take you order, if you're willing to wait 10 more minutes we will put the order in now". At that point I'm starving so I said "yes that is fine". I'M WAITING ANOTHER 30 MINUTES!! because I am not the type of customer to complain, I pay for the food and hurry back to work (which I am now late for). I get to work and my order is wrong! the manager who re-took my order gave me hash browns instead of fries AND! AT THAT MY FOOD IS COLD! It is definitely the worst Denny's I have ever been. I walked in with my little one around 1:00PM on Saturday. No greetings when we entered, but I heard they actually greeted others (non-Asian face). Not sure why. Hopefully it is nothing about the racist. We have been told to wait for 10 min to be seated, but we waited like over a half hour (they had the empty tables by that time). Finally, we were seated, and we decided what to order sooner because my little one was so hungry. There was a waiter who asked almost every tableI, but skipped ours. So, I have started to wave someone to come. However, NO ONE CAME! Finally, a waitress saw and helped us. She is the most attentive one at this restaurant. Thanks to her. I've been to this Denny's a few times and the first time I was there at around midnight and we were seated and it took about 30 minutes for someone to bring us drinks. 30 mintues later we still had not ordered yet, so we left. I also just recently went to this Denny's again, not my choice to go, but I gave it another shot. This is my "home" Denny's. No Denny's in the world compares to this one, known as "windmill Denny's" by locals. The staff here are what make this Denny's unique. They're just so nice and polite people who clearly love where they work. Tippy is my favorite waiter, she's such an amazing person! She never fails to go above and beyond for her guests and her service hasn't weakened over the years! She's one of the reasons why I'm so loyal to Denny's for 10+ years. Specially this location. I grew up local to this Denny's but will drive miles sometimes just to eat at this specific Denny's. Foods always great, portions are generous. Restaurant and restroom are both always clean. Love the lighted windmill on top. it is a community icon of Googie architecture with it's multiple folded roof and many sides situated on historic route 66. The food is good and the 2-4-6-8 menu and AARP/AAA card discounts are helpful. The seating is pretty abundant so if there is a wait, it is not too long. The service is good. read more
